UPDATE July 11, 2021:
Great thing about America #30: American Exceptionalism
America can’t be an exceptional nation if it’s fundamentally bad. If our founding, our institutions, our policies, and over 75% of our people are flawed and possibly dangerous then America is not a good place. If you believe the propaganda then the only thing exceptional thing about us is how we’ve managed to persevere as long as we have without a Democrat like Joe Biden to show us the way by destroying American exceptionalism.
Biden is honest about just one thing
President Biden is honest about one thing: his low regard for America.
We have never fully lived up to the founding principles of this nation, to state the obvious, that all people are created equal and have a right to be treated equally throughout their lives.90
He made that remark while signing a January 2021 presidential order on racial equity which despite his words has nothing to do with equality.
Equity is a Democrat Party perversion of America’s fundamental value. It’s an easy first step in the progressive transition from capitalism to socialism. Even Biden confuses the two words, perhaps because he knows deep down that equality makes us great and equity makes us Marxists:
But to do this, I believe this nation and this government need to change their whole approach to the issue of racial equal- — equity.91
If we believe the president the promise of America is not a success story. It’s a tale of failure:
For too long, we’ve allowed a narrow, cramped view of the promise of this nation to fester.92
His vision spells danger for the survival of our country. Our president has no reason to defend something he doesn’t value so we get empty words instead of action.
Is America worth defending? Ask Biden.
Every day we see more evidence that the Biden White House believes America is not worth defending.
Putin gets a committee
When asked about the consequences for Vladimir Putin for the ransomware attacks against U.S. businesses the president responded:
Well, we set up a committee — joint committee. They’re meeting on, I think, the 16th. And I believe we’re going to get some cooperation.
China gets a break
This is how Biden mouthpiece Jen Psaki addresses the very real possibility that China is responsible for over 600,000 American deaths from COVID-19:
We are, and we have repeatedly called for the WHO to — to support an expert-driven evaluation of the pandemic’s origins that is free from interference or politicization.94
When asked why Biden couldn’t address the pandemic’s origins directly with Chinese President Xi she responded:
I think you’re misunderstanding how this process actually works. An international investigation led by the World Health Organization is something that we’ve actually been pressing for for several months.95
What we can’t do, and what I would caution anyone doing, is leaping ahead of an actual international process.96
“WHO” and “international process” quash any notion that China will ever be investigated or held responsible. From a progressive standpoint we’re part of the world community now. America is no more exceptional than any other nation. In fact, we’re subordinate to international will. That’s not American exceptionalism. It’s an excuse for cowardice in the face of an adversary Biden will never confront.
Whether the issue is defending our border, defending our streets, defending our businesses, or defending vital resources like energy the Biden administration comes up short every time. American exceptionalism is anathema to progressive demands. Instead, the goal is to bring America to its knees and rebuild it in a Marxian image while banging an equity drum that too many Americans are afraid to question because the hatred of the opposition is too harsh to bear.
There are countries all over the world where we can see how this works and what the consequences are. Equity and exceptionalism are mutually exclusive unless you are a progressive like our president who knows that for our leaders equity is not a concern and exceptionalism means living truly exceptional, affluent lives on the backs of hardworking taxpayers.
UPDATE July 18, 2021:
Great thing about America #31: America has a Congress for a reason
It may seem like America is a one party state now, but we still have a federal legislature composed of two parties. That’s a problem for President Biden just like it was for his mentor, Barack Obama.
Obama’s refusal to honor our constitutional separation of powers is how we got stuck with DACA. The program is still a thorn in the side of both parties nearly ten years after it became law. Bad policies like DACA are what happens when Congress is denied a say.
Biden didn’t hide his disappointment after a federal judge in Texas declared the program illegal because Obama’s bright bulbs failed to follow the Administrative Procedures Act. He didn’t need to say anything. The president’s order-writing frenzy when he took office, canceled Trump’s protective immigration policies, and created a Southwest border crisis of historic proportions speaks for itself.
Pelosi manages to send the right message
It really hurts to write this, but whether she meant it or not Nancy Pelosi sent the right message after the decision was announced:
Democrats call on Republicans in Congress to join us in respecting the will of the American people and the law, to ensure that Dreamers have a permanent path to citizenship.97
Biden opts to strong-arm Congress
DACA is hardly the will of every American, but at Pelosi made an effort compared to Biden’s strong-arm tactics:
It is my fervent hope that through reconciliation or other means, Congress will finally provide security to all Dreamers, who have lived too long in fear.98
Reconciliation comes first and it’s not just about DACA:
I have been clear from the start that it was my hope that the infrastructure plan could be one that Democrats and Republicans would work on together, while I would seek to pass my Families Plan and other provisions through the process known as reconciliation. There has been no doubt or ambiguity about my intention to proceed this way.99
Reconciliation is another way to get unilateral, wholly partisan laws on the books that create big problems because the opposition will try to tear them down at the earliest opportunity. The leap between presidential orders and reconciliation is short. DACA is a prime example.
Biden is correct that there is no doubt or ambiguity about his plans. The White House is moving at breakneck speed to force policies that will destroy America as we know it. Lies are the solution for the border crisis. Spending money that will justify massive tax increases is the cure for everything else including the president’s $1.8 trillion American Families Plan with its free preschool and college, income support, and federally-mandated paid leave.100
There is a reason we have two opposing political parties. As much as Biden would prefer a totalitarian, one-party state where the peoples’ role is to be taxed and shut up that isn’t how things are supposed to work in America.
UPDATE July 27, 2021: today Biden destroyed all hope for even a shred of honesty or integrity from his administration
For any optimists out there who still think the Biden administration hasn’t hit rock bottom when it comes to integrity, your hopes were dashed today with the release of the president’s “Blueprint for a Fair, Orderly and Humane Immigration System.”
Did we finally allow enough illegals in to tip the scales in favor of some secret White House metric, or is this just more of the lies that characterize the contempt the Biden White House repeatedly shows the American people?
We know better. We’re not the stupid ones.
Immigration Blueprint’s absence of truth is stunning
Biden’s press release for his immigration blueprint is absolutely stunning in the complete absence of any fealty to the truth. Instead of taking my word for it, here are a few snippets from the administration’s PR statement:
In the six months since [January], the Administration has made considerable progress to build a fair, orderly, and humane immigration system while continuing to call on Congress to make long overdue reforms to U.S. immigration laws.101
The jargon-laden examples of “progress” include bringing 12,500 people returned to Mexico back to the U.S. under the Migrant Protection Protocols. They conclude with this:
And we continue to deter irregular migration at our Southern border.102
That Southern border is Trump’s fault, not Biden’s:
The Biden-Harris Administration has accomplished this and more while reckoning with the prior Administration’s cruel and reckless immigration policies, which exacerbated long-standing challenges and failed to securely manage our border.103
The solution, apparently, is to halt progress on the border wall and not manage security at all. The White House claims:
The United States can allow people to exercise their legal right to apply for asylum while also reducing irregular migration and maintaining an orderly, secure, and well-managed border.104
The numbers of incoming illegals refute, but to be fair the press release says “can,” not “will.” There is a big difference between being able to do something and actually doing it, just like there is an enormous difference between “working to improve” and getting the job done:
The Administration is working to improve the expedited removal process at the border to fairly and efficiently determine which individuals have legitimate claims for asylum and other forms of protection.105
The White House press release goes on and on, but you get the picture. Half-truths. Misinformation. Disinformation. Lies. We’ve seen the results of Biden’s “considerable progress.” What is happening is beyond appalling.
We are in the clutches of an oligarchy of autocrats who don’t have the slightest allegiance to honesty, integrity, and most important, to America or the American people. Instead, they are fully determined to give away our country to whatever comes across the border while they continue to applaud their efforts at security.
God help us.
