Lies are essential Democrat Party politics. We can’t believe anything we hear. Liars govern America from the lowliest liberal member of the House all the way to the Oval Office.
The lies, misrepresentations, disinformation, and propaganda from Democrats keep coming fast and loose. Here are the most recent updates that showcase the complete lack of honesty from the party hacks who are now in control of America:
January 7, 2022: how many times can Kamala Harris not tell the truth in 788 words or less? This is how many.
January 5, 2022: our governing liars turn to deception and disinformation instead of just telling the truth: COVID might kill you and we can’t stop it.
December 21, 2021: what did Democrats fail to deliver in 2021? The truth about the COVID vaccine.
December 17, 2021: Pelosi’s disgusting lie is an insult to America and every one of our citizens.
December 14, 2021: with so much progress announced on gun violence, why is the murder rate skyrocketing with Democrats in charge?
December 13, 2021: No, Kamala. Central America is not America’s responsibility because the Biden-Harris administration won’t enforce the border.
November 27, 2021: when lives are at risk we can’t trust our president to tell the truth.
November 26, 2021: employment up, unemployment claims down, and Pelosi’s jobs spending sure sounds like governing with lies.
November 23, 2021: White House liars explain why you are paying so much for gas.
November 13, 2021: Biden promises his infrastructure bill won’t cost his subjects a dime, but he doesn’t mention Section 13002.
November 1, 2021: Pelosi and Biden push their expensive, racist health care bill.
You can’t have a democracy based on feeding lies to the people. Instead, you have an authoritarian system where the people are manipulated by the liars in power. President Biden raised the issue on Tuesday:
We have to ask: Are you on the side of truth or lies; fact or fiction; justice or injustice; democracy or autocracy? That’s what it’s coming down to.1
He is correct, so why is his party and Biden himself so dishonest?
It’s 2021. Democrat Party liars govern America.
We knew the Biden presidency would be an unmitigated disaster, but Democrats are compounding the insult by deceiving the people to make sure they hold on to their popular support no matter how bad it gets. The Democratic leadership has no reason to care if their base doesn’t know the truth so they tell them the lies they want to hear.
House Democrats can’t tell the truth
After the January 6, 2021 “Insurrection” Nancy Pelosi called Capitol Hill a temple of democracy.2 Forget for the moment that it’s only a temple for elitists and not the people our democracy is supposed to be about. If it was, we would have some say in what goes on there and Democrats would not defile our temple by refusing to tell the truth.
This neglect of the truth makes prominent House Democrats worse than anything the left can dream up to criticize Republicans for. There is a fine line between exaggeration, obfuscation, misrepresentation, and falsehoods. Democrats stomped across it in January and never looked back.
At some point in her downward spiral from public servant to House Liar-in-Chief Speaker Nancy Pelosi decided that Americans don’t deserve the truth:
Every single House Republican voted to defund the Capitol Police.3
This is a lie. Anyone who knows anything about the Republican Party knows it’s a lie. Bullying majority Democrats voted to spend $1.9 billion that includes turning their temple of democracy into a fortress. Republicans won’t agree. That’s not the same thing as defunding the Capitol Police, but this comes from a party that supported demands to defund local police departments throughout the 2020 election cycle and last summer’s Black Lives Matter race riots. Now they need to dispel the truth and get back in the good graces of police unions and voters unfortunate enough to live in deadly Democrat-run cities. Since their agenda is decidedly anti law-enforcement, lies are all they have in their trick bag:
Sadly, these attacks on the courageous officers who defended the Capitol are nothing new. For months, McCarthy and Republicans have attacked the police. They refuse to shake their hands.4
“They refuse to shake their hands” is another lie. There is no “they.” Pelosi is referring to a news story that Georgia Rep. Andrew Clyde did not shake hands with a hospitalized Capitol officer. In fact, according to The Hill the Senate GOP wants emergency funding for the Capitol Police and the National Guard.
The truth didn’t deter Pelosi from claiming that Republicans want to defund local police departments, too.5 That particular lie has been making the rounds and has even been debunked by media outlets including the Washington Post.
Democrats forget 9/11
On the Senate side Dick Durbin (D-IL) inflamed the discourse with a popular Democrat Party falsehood that ignores 9/11 and claims the January 6 riot was the greatest attack on American democracy since the Civil War:
While there should have been 100 votes in the Senate last month for thoroughly investigating the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War, Republican Senators voted against moving to even consider the creation of a bipartisan commission.6
Is Durbin insinuating that attacks on our democracy can only come from the American people, or was he just repeating the president’s words after Biden declared January 6 was:
The worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War.7
Democrats recite this with absolutely no respect or regard for the thousands of Americans who died during the worst terrorist attack in American history. Why don’t they include 9/11? Because those 3,000 lives don’t advance the Democrat Party’s cause. Besides, the Civil War opens the door to their anti-American rhetoric about racism. That’s an opportunity too good to pass up.
Are you ignorant? They think you are.
Do the American people realize that lies are policy for Democrats because they have no respect for the intelligence of their base? Remember, these are the same people Vice President Kamala Harris warned would be disenfranchised if they lived in rural America and were tasked with copying their IDs to prove they are eligible to vote.
Perhaps Democrats’ confidence in the innate stupidity of their flock is the reason Pelosi and the House Democratic leadership don’t even make a minimal effort to lie well. Instead, they expect their voters to trust them when they promise:
Our work is not complete until every person is honored with respect, dignity, and justice.8
That’s not a lie per se, even though we know it isn’t true. They certainly don’t treat all Americans with respect unless you regard being called a thief a compliment:
As Republicans throughout the country work night and day to make it harder to vote and easier to steal an election, the time has come to tackle the voter suppression epidemic.9
Assistant Speaker Katherine Clark (D-CT) was at least honest about what these three words represent to Democrats after the Juneteenth National Independence Day became law:
Now, we must follow this action with further progress by protecting voting rights, reimagining policing, and pursuing reparations for African Americans. Our work is not complete until every person is honored with respect, dignity, and justice.10
What respect, dignity, and justice really mean is paying a bribe based on a woke fabrication about racism in America.
A president who lies does not Build Back Better
While his party accuses Republicans of doing what Democrats plan to do with H.R. 1, Biden lied about protecting the “sacred, constitutional right to vote” during a speech at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia:
The 21st century Jim Crow assault is real. It’s unrelenting, and we’re going to challenge it vigorously.11
He compared state legislatures whose actions reflect the will of the people to protect the vote to the Democratic tale of Russian election interference and again suggested that Americans are the threat:
We’ve got to shore up our election system and address the threats of election subversion, not just from abroad — which I spent time with Putin talking about — but from home. From home.12
Falsely portraying Americans as the enemy is a Biden White House mainstay. While this is just a game for Democrats in power who spare no effort at turning Americans against our country they fail to consider that at some point there is no going back. Sooner or later the extremity of their lies and anti-American dialogue will take us to places no American want to go. Democrats repeatedly talk about the civil war. This is where their false propaganda is leading the country.
Kamala Harris is a liar, too
Our habitually snickering vice president shares Pelosi’s problem with the truth:
The President and I are absolutely committed to ensuring that our immigration system is orderly and humane. And I do believe that we are making progress in that regard.13
Perhaps calling this a lie is too harsh? Am I misinterpreting what an orderly, humane immigration system looks like or did Harris never check the numbers? She feinted with “we inherited a tough situation” and then tossed out this whopper:
And in five months, we’ve made progress.14
If the Biden administration’s goal is admitting as many illegals as can cross the border then they have made great progress. This graphic from Customs and Border Protection should help to clarify what progress means to Harris:
CBP just reported a 5% increase in attempted border entries in June 2021 compared to May 2021.15
Criticizing the administration’s disastrous open border policy only elicits charges of xenophobia and racism. Race rules the discourse in Washington no matter what the issue is. Harris takes credit for being the first woman and first black American to be vice president.16 Despite that distinction she also declares:
Black Americans — and Black men, in particular — have been treated, throughout the course of our history, as less than human.17
Yet we also had a black president for eight years, long before the BLM race riots. Now, for better or worse, Harris is ensconced in the vice president’s office.
Biden tells the truth about lying
At least Joe Biden recognizes we are at risk from all the lying:
For, make no mistake, bullies and merchants of fear and peddlers of lies are threatening the very foundation of our country.18
He is correct, so stop it. The American people deserve better, even those who are foolish enough to put liars in charge of our government.
UPDATE July 18, 2021: Jeffries tells the truth?
In a stunning moment of complete honesty Congressman Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) told the truth while discussing American Rescue Plan’s child tax credit payments in a CNN interview:
And President Biden and the Democrats were very clear: when we emerge from this pandemic, we’re not going to go back to normal.19
That’s the kind of honesty the American people deserve and expect. The American Rescue Plan’s child tax credit doles out payments to families making up to $150,000 per couple, $112,500 for head of household or $75,000 for single tax filers.20
That’s incredibly generous of Democrats. We’re already on the path to not going back to normal.
Do these families need additional income from the government? It doesn’t matter anymore than it mattered if everyone receiving COVID relief payments was still working. On one hand it makes sense because they money is ours. On the other, the rampant spending of trillions spells disaster down the road. We could use a little more honesty about that and the tax increases we have to assume are in the works to take it all back, but for now kudos to Rep. Jeffries for his honesty. America is not going back to normal if Democrats have anything to say about it.
UPDATE July 25, 2021: rejecting Jordan and Banks makes Pelosi a liar
Whether she is comparing January 6 to the Civil War or the War of 1812, House Liar-in-Chief Nancy Pelosi’s overblown rhetoric adds false gravity to her January 6 anti-Republican witch hunt. This was from her July 23, 2021 “Dear Colleague” press release:
We cannot escape history. We of this Congress and this administration will be remembered in spite of ourselves. No personal significance, or insignificance, can spare one or another of us. The fiery trial through which we pass will light us down, in honor or dishonor, to the latest generation.21
No, Pelosi didn’t say that. In a fit of arrogance she resorted to quoting Abraham Lincoln even though the only Civil War on the horizon is the conflict Democrats are hard at work creating.
Pelosi is no Abraham Lincoln. Her goal is much simpler:
Now, our imperative must be to find the truth.22
That would be a noble goal if the truth meant something to the speaker. It doesn’t.
Of the committee’s conduct Pelosi insists:
We must do so in a way that retains the trust of the American people in the proceedings, so that they will have confidence in the truth that emerges.23
How did she go about earning that trust last week? She rejected Republicans Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Jim Banks (R-IN) out of “respect for the integrity of the investigation” and “insistence on the truth.”24
We already know what the results of her committee will be and so does Pelosi. She made those results even more certain by rejecting Jordan and Banks while greenlighting GOP turncoat Liz Cheney (R?-WY) and suggesting that RINO Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R?-IL) might be another worthwhile bipartisan addition. Kinzinger’s views on the commission sound like they were written by Pelosi:
We need a full accounting of what happened on January 6, 2021—we need answers on who was involved in the insurrection and who played a role in orchestrating it. We need transparency and truth.25
Pelosi’s hatred of Donald Trump and her manipulation of her January 6 committee to guarantee a judgment to fit her party’s anti-Republican narrative ensure that truth will have no place in these proceedings. This makes it easier for the speaker to toss out the word “truth” as if it means something. It also allows her to make wholly unsubstantiated remarks like she did in the wake of the Trump-Russia hoax and her two failed impeachment efforts.
Pelosi’s hypocrisy is absolutely stunning as she does exactly what she falsely accused Trump of doing:
Again and again, Trump sells out our American democracy and values to pursue his own political interests.26
When she adds the word “bipartisan” to her commission we all know she is not telling the truth. If Pelosi was honest and really wanted to earn the trust of the American people as she claims she would have accepted Jordan and Banks. Instead, she opted for her own political interests and those of her party.
UPDATE July 26, 2021: Biden administration governs with lies and doesn’t do it well
With all the resources at the Biden administration’s disposal we should expect the lies to be clever or at least believable on occasion. They are not. The White House is not making even a meager attempt to cover up its falsehoods.
The administration knows there is nothing the American people can do about the president’s radical left agenda, so it’s curious why the White House bothers to lie. Most of us know or at least suspect the truth about Biden’s numerous failure, so there isn’t much point to lying.
One example should suffice. When the White House approved Temporary Protected Status for Haitians it added this to the press release:
The TPS designation does not benefit Haitian nationals attempting to enter the United States after May 21, 2021. The United States is continuing to strictly enforce existing immigration laws and border security measures.27
I’m sure if you asked Jen Psaki she would have an explanation about how we are strictly enforcing the law and protecting the border. That would be a lie, too.
UPDATE August 22, 2021: liar-in-chief Pelosi proves Democrats can’t be honest about anything
The speaker is literally panting to please Joe Biden by dumping $3.5 trillion on the heads of U.S. taxpayers. The lies are coming fast and hard as Democrats see the goal of ruining America’s economy in sight.
Governing with lies only works until you get what you want. Eventually you are found out when what you are doing fails miserably and hurts people. For proof, look at what just happened in Afghanistan. This is what happens when you govern with lies.
Pelosi has been around long enough to know this, so the speaker is adamant that Democrats force their new socialist budget resolution through Congress immediately to save the American people with “transformative, life-changing benefits:”
Any delay to passing the budget resolution threatens the timetable for delivering the historic progress and the transformative vision that Democrats share.28
When a politician tells you we can’t delay spending trillions, you know they are covering up.
Fortunately we don’t have to worry about the cost. Pelosi promises the bill is paid for:
Second, we will craft a bill that is paid for, including by increasing taxes on the wealthiest Americans and largest corporations, some of whom currently pay little to no federal income taxes. The House is exploring ways to advance tax fairness and enforcement in this bill that are widely popular, including 72 percent support for crackdowns on tax evasion by corporations and the wealthy.29
Did you catch that? The speaker says “we will craft a bill.” The press release was issued yesterday, but she wants to pass it now with no delay.
Pelosi insists her Democrat wish list of spending items receives “a broad and bipartisan level of public support throughout the country.”30 When you hear the word “bipartisan” slapped on a partisan bill you are being lied to. In her haste she may have forgotten to check in with Republican voters, business owners, people in the energy industry who don’t want to lose their jobs, and most important her congressional opposition that calls it a “Roadmap to Ruin for America’s Working Families.”31
That leads us to the biggest lie of all. Democrats continue to insist that families will see their taxes cut and won’t pay a dime. The middle and working classes always get socked with the consequences of tax increases that allegedly punish the wealthy for their benefit. Prices go up. That means paying more in sales tax, too. Businesses lay off workers. Wages are slashed. Democrats are also determined to destroy an entire sector of the economy, the energy industry, in favor of jobs created by a new sector that is more of an ideological pipe dream than reality.
That didn’t matter to Joe Biden when he cancelled the Keystone Pipeline and it won’t matter to his party now. They’ll continue to lie about the good jobs on the way while working Americans suffer from all the lies supporting this bill.
I’m going to cut Pelosi some slack on her claim that this $3.5 trillion is for the children. The reconciliation bill is crafted for the children of wealthy governing Democrats. They plan to pass this legislation alongside their voting rights scam to ensure they control America forever. The speaker doesn’t qualify whose “children” she is referring too, but anyone with a functioning non-liberal brain can figure that out.
UPDATE August 29, 2021: Pelosi uses Supreme Court eviction moratorium to spread two more lies
Oh, how Democrats hate the Supreme Court when they don’t get what they want. Speaker Nancy Pelosi vented her anger over the court’s refusal to say yes to Biden’s attempt at dragging out the eviction moratorium in two releases issued last Friday.
In each release Pelosi charged that the court’s decision was immoral, arbitrary, and cruel.32 She also claimed the decision puts families at risk from the COVID-19 delta variant:
The Court’s decision to block the new CDC eviction moratorium is immoral, putting families at risk of being put on the streets, and it is a serious public health threat, as the delta variant continues.33
We know this is not true. Being homeless on the street outside is a much safer refuge from the delta variant than being indoors. It’s safe to assume that many of the disadvantaged taking advantage of the eviction ban are already living in less than optimal indoor conditions. They certainly don’t have a massive, expensive freezer to store high end ice cream like their benefactor bragged about while the virus began to spread. Yes, being homeless is a terrible thing but if I was trying to avoid COVID-19 I’d much rather be outside.
That’s a cruel and arbitrary remark of course, but homelessness in Pelosi’s San Francisco is also cruel and arbitrary. In 2005 the speaker patted herself on the back for securing $17 million to fight homelessness in the city. What happened after that? 34 According to The Heritage Foundation, despite $1 billion annual spending on homelessness the number of homeless in Pelosi’s metropolis escalated by nearly one-third over the past ten years.35
San Francisco is another city ruined by Democrats who talk the talk of progressive maintenance for the disadvantaged with little to show for it except renewed demands to spend even more. That didn’t stop Pelosi from resorting to children in need, the last refuge of desperate Democrats:
As we all agree, eviction is a horror that no family should ever have to experience: cribs and personal belongings on the street, children in fear and distress and parents struggling to find basic shelter.36
Blaming the Supreme Court and the expiration of the eviction moratorium for homelessness is the same lie we hear about every other form of Democrat Party social spending. For now, anyone who is forced to leave their homes can at least rest easy knowing that Pelosi’s statement about the delta variant on the streets is not true. Neither is any suggestion that Pelosi or her party will do anything sustainable to fix the homeless problem in San Francisco or anywhere else.
UPDATE September 4, 2021: liars governing America promote welfare so we can Build Back Better
The August jobs report was a punch to the deluded Democrat Party gut. Those responsible for trying to torch our economy lied and babbled about accomplishments and great things to come, but we all know this is a stern warning about where they are leading us.
Pelosi: welfare means prosperity
For Nancy Pelosi fewer jobs means more spending “to ensure that the economic gains forged under President Biden”36 continue:
Today’s job report is further evidence of the need to Build Back Better for our economy.37
This makes no sense, of course. If Biden policies created economic gains we have no need to resurrect America’s welfare state.
With businesses trying to reopen under a deluge of restored state level mask mandates and more fear-mongering from Washington the Trump economic model that delivered massively for workers is the model to emulate, but this is the farthest thing from half-bright Democrat minds. Instead, Pelosi pushes for Build Back Better social programs that make not working, or at least not working very hard easier and more socially acceptable:
The Build Back Better Act will be transformational for families: cutting costs for child care, health care and prescription drugs, education and other priorities for families, delivering one of the largest tax cuts ever for workers and families and creating millions of good-paying jobs.38
Creating jobs isn’t the same thing as having jobs any more than shifting the cost of living for people who aren’t working to taxpayers who are creates prosperity. These are fundamental lies behind Build Back Better.
According to a report from the Committee to Unleash Prosperity, in 21 states and our nation’s capital we pay $25/hr. benefits to people who aren’t working. 19 states reward unemployment with benefits up to $100,000 annually for families with parents who don’t have jobs.39
In the midst of all this taxpayer-supported prosperity Pelosi traveled to Austin, Texas yesterday to push Biden’s agenda on a state that infuriated her party again with new abortion legislation. After her spiel about Build Back Better social spending this came last:
And the list goes on, workforce development and the rest.40
She credited Biden’s prescience:
He came into office with a vision to Build Back Better.41
A vision is not progress. Jobs that don’t exist are not progress. Handing out welfare and calling it prosperity is not progress, either. These are all lies.
Trump’s economy was progress. The liars who govern America will do everything in their power to make sure we don’t repeat it.
UPDATE September 9, 2021: White House admits what global warming is really about
I thought global warming was about the extinction of humanity. That’s why we don’t have time to think before we start spending trillions to rescue the planet for our kids.
President Biden had a different take during yesterday’s address honoring big labor:
And I made a promise, and I’ll keep it — that what we’re talking about here is: When you think of global warming, you think of jobs — jobs — all the jobs we’re going to create — making us, once again, the fastest-growing — we are now — the most competitive economy in the world.42
The only surprise is the unexpected honesty from a president who governs America with lies. Biden enthusiastically endorses policies that have a lot more to do with a one-party socialist takeover than the climate Armageddon his party warns is about to wipe us out. Unions will play a central role in helping his administration destroy our economy.
After that bit of truthfulness about climate change dishonesty, Biden fell back on this cherished lie about labor unions:
When unions win, workers across the board win. That’s a fact. Families win, community wins, America wins. We grow. And despite this, workers have been getting cut out of the deal for too long a time.43
If this is true, why has union membership been dying for years as America’s economy charges ahead and why did it flourish under Donald Trump, who supports right to work laws?
UPDATE September 20, 2021: Democrat liars governing America push amnesty for illegals as a moral and economic imperative
When the Democrat liars who govern America want to force something on us that we don’t need or want it becomes a moral and economic imperative. The more terrible the idea, the greater their insistence that we have no choice but to do what they say.
For example, Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) called the Green New Deal a “revolution” when he argued it was not only an imperative but our obligation, too:
We have the technology to do it. We have the economic imperative. We have the moral obligation. We just need the political will.44
Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) used the same argument when he claimed we have little choice but to pass the U.S. Citizenship Act:
While the work ahead will not be easy, we have a moral and economic imperative to get this done. After the former administration’s incessant attacks against immigrant communities, we cannot afford to kick the can down the road any longer.45
Chuck Schumer (D-NY) voiced his displeasure with the same words today after hopes were quashed of sneaking amnesty into his party’s reconciliation bill:
The American people understand that fixing our broken immigration system is a moral and economic imperative. America has always been that shining city on the hill that welcomes those pursuing the American Dream and our economy depends more than ever on immigrants.46
I think the American people understand very well what’s going on. The senator confused “our economy depends” with what he really means: Democrats depend. The Biden economy is rapidly swirling down the toilet with too-high gas prices, inflation, lackluster jobs creation, and rising prices. Now is a great time to appease their base with a completely irrelevant lie about mass amnesty while migrants continue to storm our border.
If there is a moral and economic imperative here it’s that Democrats should dedicate every effort to making life better for all Americans. Governing with lies about amnesty won’t and neither will legislation to grant a path to citizenship in Schumer’s shining city.
UPDATE September 26, 2021: governing Democrats deny pre-pandemic prosperity so they can destroy our economy once and for all
It’s been over 18 months since Democrats made the decision to use COVID to expand their control over our lives instead of ensuring the pandemic didn’t ruin America’s economy. The result? Businesses and lives were destroyed. Left-wing autocrats beat the American people down time after time with draconian restrictions that only applied to their subjects while America’s ruling elite enjoyed their affluent lives as usual. Now they say they want to help us.
Congress spent a lot of money to keep Americans afloat while Democrats destroyed their places of employment. Now we’re at 5.2% unemployment, which pales in comparison to the success of Trump’s economy but considering what we’ve gone through is nothing to complain about.
Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) used the recovering economy to prove again that Democrats governing America are inveterate liars. In a nonsensical press release last Tuesday, the Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus assured us the joint infrastructure agreement and Build Back Better Act were on the way:
Why? Because President Biden promised that we were not going back to pre-pandemic normal, we were going to Build Back Better. Because prior to the pandemic, so many everyday Americans were struggling.47
A Biden promise of not going back to pre-pandemic normal sounds more like a threat. Why wouldn’t we want to go back to the economic prosperity and historic low unemployment America enjoyed while Trump was president? Hatching a plan to not go back to that pre-COVID prosperity is just as foolhardy as the president’s bright ideas on Afghanistan, the border, and ending the COVID pandemic by infuriating Americans with a vaccine mandate.
Despite what you will hear, the issue is not what Democrats promise to do for us. The real issue is what these lying, self-interested hacks will do for themselves. Build Back Better really means Build the Democrat Party and its massive list of socialist agenda items.
Here’s an idea for Jeffries, Schumer, Pelosi, Harris, and lying Joe Biden before they destroy the greatest economy in the world once and for all. Just do what Trump did. It worked. Just because you hate this man more than anything on the face of the earth is no reason to take out your anger on the American people’s future.
UPDATE October 2, 2021: Democrats create a Marxist class struggle and their lies finally catch up to them
Remember when Republicans had a chance to fix America’s health care system? After years of criticizing Obamacare they finally had a chance to live up to their words. The GOP went down in flames and followed up by losing the House.
Now it’s the Democrat Party’s turn. This is what going down in flames sounds like for Democrats:
Today, President Biden honored us with his first in-person visit to our Caucus. He received a hero’s welcome!48
No, this wasn’t from January and Biden is no hero. This was after Democrats made fools of themselves yesterday when their Marxist economic plan failed to pass. In their arrogance they flew too close to the sun and got scorched.
Not only is Biden unable to unite a country that he divided more than ever, he can’t even bring his own party together. Democrats allowed a freshman dimwit to take center stage to push a socialist agenda based on lies about a class struggle. The resulting agenda lurched so far from mainstream America that it even found room for anti-Semitism encouraged by the same dimwit and her SQUAD pals.
While Democrats accuse Republicans of trying to shut down the government,49 the rest of America is watching their party go to pieces over the best way to ruin the economy with unsustainable debt and spending. Their phony, manufactured class struggle proved inadequate to get the job done despite hilarious rhetoric from extreme progressives who call Biden’s socialist agenda “visionary.”50
Just because middle-class Americans don’t make a six-figure salary like the self-interested, anti-American liars on Capitol Hill doesn’t mean we are stupid. There is no Marxist class struggle in America other than the one Democrats created to trick voters into supporting the ruination of our country.
The class struggle hiding behind Biden’s socialist agenda exemplifies governing with lies. The good news is that he didn’t get away with it last week. The bad news is that one of the reasons was that his agenda still isn’t destructive enough to satisfy extremist Democrats.
UPDATE October 21, 2021: Democrats still refuse to tell the truth about these seven false promises.
Promises don’t create truth, especially on Capitol Hill. Someone should have informed the House Democratic Caucus how the truth works in real life before Chair Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) issued this statement yesterday:
We will crush the virus. We will create millions of good-paying jobs. We will fix our crumbling infrastructure. We will cut taxes for working families, low-income families and middle-class families, largely but not exclusively through the enhanced and expanded Child Tax Credit. We will lower costs in child care and health care and education for everyday Americans. And we will confront the climate crisis with the fierce urgency of now because there is no planet B.
That’s a long list of “we wills.” Democrats won’t do any of these things. Nancy Pelosi seems to know that. You can tell when the speaker sniffs failure. She pulls children out of her trick bag:
When people ask me, ‘What are the three most important issues facing the Congress?’ I always say the same thing: our children, our children, our children.51
Worse, she praises our rapidly failing president as if Americans aren’t aware of what is happening to our country:
This exemplifies governing with lies. The truth about what governing Democrats promise is just as simple as the fact of Biden’s massive failures:
Promise: Democrats will crush the virus.
Fact: even with vaccines, treatment options, and crushing federal and state COVID mandates more Americans have died on Biden’s watch than Trump’s. Issuing punishing, authoritarian vaccine requirements for workers creates pushback, not victory.
Promise: we will create millions of good-paying jobs.
Fact: recent jobs reports are terrible. They will get worse if Democrats Build Back Better and destroy even more jobs with their socialist, tax the rich, green economy wish list.
Those elusive, high-paying green energy jobs are exactly that: elusive.
Promise: we will fix America’s crumbling infrastructure.
Fact: the socialist reconciliation bill comes first. If Democrats wanted infrastructure they already had the Republican support to get it done. Besides, with the mess Democrats made of our supply chain do we really want them involved with roads and bridges?
Promise: we will cut taxes for low-income families and the middle class.
Fact: middle-class families are suffering from Biden’s high prices, inflation, shortages, and the regressive taxes and fees enforced by Democrats at the state and local levels. Example: Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker’s very non-progressive gas tax that doubled in 2019, keeps increasing, and is blind to income.
Promise: the Child Tax Credit will help families.
Fact: Democrats will use this fraud-ridden credit to give money to illegal immigrants. Children of illegal parents with Social Security numbers already qualify and with the numbers of new illegals being admitted into the U.S. this handout will only expand.
Do Democrats think the middle class is dumb enough to believe that the Child Tax Credit – which not all Americans qualify for – will make up for the rest of their economic damage that will weigh heaviest on working families?
Promise: Democrats will lower the cost of health care.
Fact: they already tried this and failed miserably. That’s why they’re in such a hurry to replace the damage they’ve done with something even more costly.
Promise: climate change will destroy the planet.
Fact: so will nuclear war and that’s a very real possibility with our woke-obsessed, incompetent administration in charge of military and foreign policy.
UPDATE October 24, 2021: how many Americans need to suffer and die for Pelosi to tell the truth about Biden and COVID-19?
On this morning’s Sunday news circuit Nancy Pelosi made another outrageous statement praising President Biden:
And I want to commend President Biden for having a completely different approach than his predecessor on this. We have to correct a lot of what went wrong then. And we’re on a good path. 52
So there can be no misunderstanding about this big, fat lie, this is what Pelosi’s “good path” really means:
1. The COVID-19 death toll on Biden’s watch is appalling despite widespread vaccine availability. He heaped blame for COVID deaths on Trump but failed to meet his own Independence Day vaccination pledge. We watched COVID cases climb while the president’s approval rating plummeted.
2. Biden’s “completely different approach” is thanks to vaccines developed by Operation Warp Speed. Given Joe’s inability to do anything but fail, there is no doubt that we’d still be fighting over the climate footprint of vaccine development if not for Trump.
3. Biden lied to Americans about whether he would institute the vaccine mandate that has the country in turmoil and mission critical employees quitting their jobs.
4. Democrats have corrected nothing. They took credit for Trump’s work, blamed him for less of a COVID nightmare than we now have under Biden, and are well on their way to convincing Americans that we can’t trust anything that comes from our public health bureaucracy.
This is what a “good path” looks like to the speaker. If Democrats want to talk about the Big Lie, they need look no farther than this.
UPDATE November 1, 2021: Pelosi & Biden push their expensive, racist health care bill.
If you don’t yet have expensive, Democrat Party affordable health care Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden want you to know it’s time to sign up. They issued twin press releases today for a bill progressives were damning in favor of single payer health care not too long ago:
The Affordable Care Act is a pillar of health and financial security for families, delivering on Democrats’ promise that affordable health care is a right, not a privilege.53
That was from Speaker Pelosi, who also claimed we are on the cusp of universal coverage:
Build Back Better will extend the enhanced subsidies included in the American Rescue Plan — securing affordable premiums for over nine million Americans, delivering coverage to millions of uninsured people and bringing us to near universal health coverage in America.54
According to the CDC there are 31.2 million uninsured Americans under age 65, but instead of slicing and dicing Pelosi’s math we’ll let the president speak:
This transformational investment will reduce premiums for more than nine million Americans, deliver health coverage to four million uninsured people in states that have failed to expand Medicaid, and expand Medicare to help older Americans access affordable hearing care.55
I still can’t come up with 31.2 million, but I was never very good at math.
What I am good at is reading and listening. Throughout 2020 we heard about racial disparities in health care as Democrats tried to hang minority COVID-19 deaths on Donald Trump despite their own overreaching promises that Obamacare would fix America’s minority health care problem.
None of this means the unaffordable, racist ACA isn’t good for another press release. It would be nice if Pelosi and Biden could get their numbers straight, though. By my count if Pelosi is right we’re still over 22 million uninsured in the hole. Is it my bad math, or are these more health care lies from the Democrats who govern America?
UPDATE November 13, 2021: Biden promises his infrastructure bill won’t cost his subjects a dime, but he doesn’t mention Section 13002.
If you don’t mention something in hopes that the listener doesn’t know about it, does that make you a liar? Politicians are really, really good at doing this. President Biden is no exception.
You’ve probably heard that only a small portion of the Democrat Party’s infrastructure bill pays for what we poor, uninformed Americans usually associate with infrastructure. Any good Democrat and the handful of foolhardy Republicans who voted for this mess will tell you that wildlife crossing safety, vulnerable road user research, traffic calming techniques, a carbon reduction program, and a Healthy Streets program to deal with air quality and urban heat islands are really about bricks, mortar, potholes, and steel. These things will make your day to day life better. You can count on it. Just don’t read the bill too closely.
Not spending on roads and bridges is what expected, of course, but there is something even more sinister going on.
During his infrastructure victory lap Biden promised dimwitted Americans who don’t understand economic jargon:
And this bill is fiscally responsible. That’s a fancy way of saying it’s fully paid for.56
And it’s paid for by making sure that the wealthiest Americans, the biggest corporations begin to pay their fair share.57
At this point someone should have told him to stop, but he kept going:
And so — and keep my campaign commitment: It does not raise a single penny in tax for anyone making less than $400,000 a year. Say it again: Folks, no matter what they tell you, you’re going to find out this will not affect your taxes one little bit in having to pay a penny more if you make less than $400,000 a year.58
What about Section 13002’s mileage tax pilot program?
Section 13002 of the infrastructure bill establishes the Democrats’ National Motor Vehicle Per-Mile User Fee Pilot program “to demonstrate a national motor vehicle per-mile user fee.” The provisions span four long, single-spaced pages that among other things establish an advisory board of advocacy groups focused on equity, tribal groups, and owners and operators of toll facilities. In laymen’s terms, this means people who want your money.
Fact-checkers who claim the bill doesn’t contain a mileage tax are correct. It does not, but no one paying attention to Biden administration policies can possibly think that this is not going to turn into a national mileage tax if Democrats stay in power.
There is too much effort going into this pilot program to raise taxes on every American if lawmakers don’t plan to do it. Whether or not they can get away with it depends on who is running Congress when the time comes to pass legislation to make this mileage tax a reality. In the meantime, every time you hear Biden or any other Democrat promise the infrastructure bill will only raise taxes on the wealthy, remember that they are telling the truth with what they hope will become a lie.
UPDATE: November 23, 2021: White House liars explain why you are paying so much more for gas
How can a senior White House official discuss our rising energy prices without once mentioning the Keystone XL pipeline or America’s lost energy independence?
It’s easy. The truth doesn’t matter.
Let’s not forget what President Biden said on his first day in office as he arrogantly canceled Keystone and with it 11,000 jobs:59
The Keystone XL pipeline disserves the U.S. national interest. The United States and the world face a climate crisis.60
Leaving the Keystone XL pipeline permit in place would not be consistent with my Administration’s economic and climate imperatives.61
Apparently higher energy prices that hurt the middle class are completely in line with the White House’s economic and climate imperatives. Do administration officials believe if they inflict enough pain at the pump we will submit to their activist climate agenda, perhaps install solar panels on the roofs of our gas guzzlers?
In a press call today one of these unnamed “Senior Administration Officials” explained the real problem with gas prices:
The increase in gas prices has occurred because global oil supply has not kept pace with global oil demand as the economy has recovered from the pandemic and as countries and companies have held back on supplying oil, and because the declines in oil prices that we have seen have not translated into lower prices at the pump. The President is taking action on both fronts and is committed to using every tool as needed.62
Now we get it. It’s not our fault and especially not Joe Biden’s. Fortunately, the White House has faith in OPEC just like it had faith in the Afghanistan Taliban:
You know, the OPEC Plus have said that they are planning to release an additional 400,000 barrels a day, starting in December, and our hope and expectation is that they will continue on that course.63
There was no mention during the call of the Keystone pipeline or the fact that we were energy independent thanks to Donald Trump before Biden got his hands on our country. Relying on other countries to produce our oil so radical climate progressives can control our energy resources not only endangers our economy and security, it makes Biden a hypocrite. Why should America expect other nations to destroy their environments on our behalf so Democrats can score votes with the radical left for protecting ours?
UPDATE November 26, 2021: employment up, unemployment claims down, and Pelosi’s jobs spending sure sounds like governing with lies
Few cities demonstrate how Democrats ruin everything they get their hands on better than San Francisco with its drugs, crime, homelessness, and squalor.Republicans should set up tours to show Americans what happens when they do something stupid in the voting booth.
During a November 23, 2021 press appearance in San Francisco Nancy Pelosi pushed spending for jobs in Democrats’ infrastructure bill with a promise we’ve heard too many times for too many years:
This is about good-paying jobs for America’s working families.64
Then she got down to what really matters:
It’s about clean air, clean water for our children. It’s about quality of life improvement for families, so they don’t have to spend so much time on the road because of the investments in mass transit, the investments in roads and bridges to make them safer and to facilitate, facilitate transportation.65
She began to go off the rails, crediting Joe Biden’s vision for pushing a trillion dollars of your hard-earned money across the finish line. Then she lapsed into partisan insanity:
we Build Back Better because it’s about equity.66
We knew this all along, of course. The Democrat policy protocol is to take control of a city, state, or our nation, destroy what works, and then demand taxpayers pay more money to fix all the problems they created with their lies.
California shares the spotlight with Democrat-run Nevada as the state with the highest unemployment rate in the nation. Gavin Newsom’s 7.3% jobless rate compares poorly to Republican Ron DeSantis’ 4.6% in Florida.67
Weekly jobless claims are not only down, initial claims for unemployment just hit their lowest level since November 15, 1969.68
This good news can and will be spun, misinterpreted, and lied about by Democrats. Liberal lawmakers wailed and moaned through ever spectacular Trump job report because they don’t care about working class families, middle class families, underserved neighborhoods, or anything else they purport to stand for. This is about governing with lies that put money on their own table. They already know they won’t help working families and in all likelihood will make their lives much worse as the costs of Democrat Party arrogance are passed down after their next tax increase.
Democrats won’t tell the truth about the working class. Here it is.
Pelosi showed her party’s backside when she boasted that working families won’t “have to spend so much time on the road because of the investments in mass transit…” If they can’t afford her state’s highest in the nation gas prices or the cost of a car in the 7.3% jobless Golden State, then she’s absolutely right. Democrats will take the working class out of their cars and drop them at the nearest electric bus stop for that long, depressing ride to the unemployment office.
UPDATE November 27, 2021: when lives are at risk we can’t trust our president to tell the truth
I’m confident Joe Biden gets a report every morning showing how close we are to whatever his vaccine goal is. He’s threatened our livelihoods, demanded kids get the shot, and demanded businesses do his dirty work. Now he’s using the scary new COVID Omicron variant to urge Americans to get protected, but there’s a problem.
The truth isn’t a priority with this administration. COVID is no exception. The reason this new variant scares the public health community is because we don’t know if vaccines will fight it off. That simple fact evaded yesterday’s presidential statement announcing travel restrictions Trump would never have been allowed to get away with. The president had “two important messages” for Americans:
First, for those Americans who are fully vaccinated against severe COVID illness – fortunately, for the vast majority of our adults — the best way to strengthen your protection is to get a booster shot, as soon as you are eligible.
That’s right. Get your booster and watch your drug company stocks soar.
Roll up your sleeves, toddlers. Can we do pre-natal vaccinations, too?
Seriously, this is probably good advice but it doesn’t have anything to do with the Omicron variant. As The Hill pointed out on the same day of Biden’s statement, even Saint Fauci is clear that we don’t know if vaccines will be effective.
This will not deter Biden. His vaccine tunnel vision is unwavering:
Let’s rephrase that: this pandemic will not end until we hold China accountable and find out exactly what this bug is and how it was created. Biden is at the helm of the one nation with the capacity to do this, so it will never happen. That means for now we have little choice but to roll up our sleeves, keep our fingers crossed, and question the veracity any public health information coming from this president.
UPDATE December 13, 2021: No, Kamala. Central America is not America’s responsibility because the Biden-Harris administration won’t enforce the law.
Question: if we need the White House’s stupefyingly expensive infrastructure and Build Back Better bills to make life bearable for middle and working class Americans, why is Kamala Harris pushing investment in Central America instead of using all of our resources here at home?
Answer: to control illegal immigration, of course.
We won’t finish Trump’s wall or pursue other options to secure the border, so the plan as explained by our historically unpopular vice president is to make life better in Central America:
Supporting the long-term development of the region, and of the Western Hemisphere more broadly, will require more than just the resources of the U.S. government. For this reason, Vice President Harris called upon the private sector to draw upon its resources and expertise to commit to support inclusive economic growth in northern Central America.73
Harris has explained her take on the root causes of migration more than once. It doesn’t get more believable with retelling:
Our comprehensive strategy to address the root causes of migration will involve significant commitments of U.S. government resources to support the long-term development of the region—including efforts to foster economic opportunity, strengthen governance, combat corruption, and improve security.74
Here’s the truth Harris won’t admit
Enforcing our border is poison to progressives, so Harris’ alternative is to make life so much better in Central America that migrants won’t seek a better life here. I don’t buy it and neither should you. What I do believe is that the White House doesn’t have the courage to crack down on illegal migration so this is a clever way of blaming America for not doing enough instead of blaming Biden and Harris for creating the situation and refusing to fix it.
Besides, if Harris is right and we do make Central America appealing enough to stop illegal migration the nations we help out might see a surge of migration from the U.S. as Americans look to escape rogue progressivism. Do you think there will be the same red carpet for American expats that we roll out for their citizens?
UPDATE December 14, 2021: with so much progress announced on gun violence why is the murder rate skyrocketing with Democrats in charge?
According to ABC News the murder rate is breaking records in 12 American cities.75 That’s a sobering fact lurking behind the reports of flashy smash and grabs, mob attacks, car jackings, and the other crimes that are surging while Democrats impose their unique liberal ideas on how best to enforce the law.
The Biden administration, or Biden-Harris administration if you want Kamala to share the blame, has a habit of confusing efforts with results:
During President Biden’s first year in office, the Biden-Harris Administration has made more progress on executive actions to reduce gun violence than any other Administration has in its first year.76
That’s great, but “progress on executive actions” is effort, not results.
White House lap dog Nancy Pelosi has the same bad habit:
Under the leadership of Congressman Mike Thompson and Whip Jim Clyburn, the Democratic House has passed life-saving legislation, such as the Bipartisan Background Checks Act, to secure universal background checks, and the Enhanced Background Checks Act, to close the deadly Charleston loophole.77
Not a single life was saved by this legislation. It isn’t law. Pelosi’s Background Checks Act went to the Senate on March 11, 2021 where it sits with the other divisive bills the speaker pats herself on the back for passing as if an easy vote in the Democrats-only House is all it takes to turn legislation into law.
Democrats are the party of defund the police, mental health-focused anti-violence initiatives, no cash bail laws, and our revolving door criminal justice system that spins even faster now thanks to racial justice initiatives.
If we took one gun off the street for every gang member that stepped up for a background check or called for counseling we would accomplish exactly what Democrats in our crime-ridden cities are achieving now: record murder rates, record crime rates, and lots of self-congratulations for a job not done.
UPDATE December 17, 2021: Pelosi’s disgusting lie is an insult to America and every one of our citizens
We can only imagine what was said – or more likely shouted – behind closed doors when the Senate parliamentarian shut down the abusive immigration provisions Democrats tucked away in their Build Back Better socialism bill. Jenn Psaki weighed in on the White House’s disappointment:
Well, the decision by the parliamentarian is deeply disappointing and relegates millions to an uncertain and frightening future.78
Nancy Pelosi tried to put lipstick on this legislative pig by asserting that the mass amnesty planned for millions of illegals is something most Americans support. She doesn’t cite any proof. Instead, the speaker backs up her words with a disgusting lie about America:
Immigrants make America more American: enriching our nation, powering our economy and bringing their patriotism, bravery and determination to succeed to our shores. The majority of the American people support Democrats’ work to fix our broken immigration system and provide legal status for undocumented immigrants.79
How do illegals bring patriotism to our shores when their first act in America is to break the law? More important, how can Pelosi be a patriot when she claims that illegal foreign nationals “make America more American?”
To be fair, this probably makes sense to a half-bright career hack like the speaker and Democrats who consider the rule of law an obstacle to cramming as many illegal immigrants between our coasts as possible in anticipation of granting them the right to vote. For the rest of us who belong here, work hard, and will pay the tab for whoever the Biden administration lures across the border, insisting that illegals have anything to do with making America great is a brazen slap in the face.
December 21, 2022: what did Democrats fail to deliver in 2021? The truth about the COVID vaccine.
Yesterday House Speaker Pelosi announced five hundred “Democrats Deliver” events to publicize (or propagandize, depending on your politics) the benefits of their infrastructure bill.
In hosting more than five hundred events since the law was enacted just one month ago, our Majority is trumpeting the historic investments headed to our families and communities.80
Does anyone even remember the infrastructure bill? Thanks to the White House’s catastrophically bad COVID-19 PR campaign, death is what many Americans are thinking about. Cold, hard, endless death for the unvaccinated according to President Biden and apparently a far from risk-free winter season for the vaccinated and boosted.
That’s not quite what the White House promised just four days ago when we were assured “we have the tools to protect ourselves against COVID-19” and “we now have the power to protect ourselves.”81
It’s also not what the administration promised when Biden’s COVID-19 team assured the nation about vaccines for kids:
Already, our effective rollout is helping parents and families across the country experience the giant sigh of relief of knowing their kids are on the path to having protection from the virus.82
Even the flu vaccine is suddenly a sure thing, even though we know it varies massively in protection from year to year and can’t be assessed for effectiveness until later in the season:
If you’re wondering if you should get a flu vaccine, you should. It’ll protect you and your family against the flu.83
COVID guru Anthony Fauci backed up Biden’s assurances about the COVID vaccine:
We have 62 million Americans eligible for vaccines who are still not vaccinated. The data that I show you do not lie. Vaccines protect you, your family, and your community.84
The data may not lie, but do Americans understand what CDC Director Rochelle Walensky means when she says:
go out now and get your extra booster dose to protect you.85
Most of us are not epidemiologists, physicians, or infectious disease specialists. It’s difficult to separate a PR campaign and outright propaganda from the science Democrats say they put their trust in. When Walensky makes a remark like this, it is easy for people Biden and the Democrats have frightened out of their wits to take literally because it’s what they want to hear:
What’s the best gift to give this year? Consider the gift of health. It’s priceless.86
Later today the president will deliver an update on COVID-19. We’re not sure what he’s going to say just yet, but it’s time to temper the public health propaganda with some cold, hard reality. Vaccination rates are going up and COVID cases are surging. Perhaps a little honesty would have tempered the American people’s expectations about the vaccines* the White House is pushing under threat of imminent death for the holidays.
What was the real message of Biden’s Omicron address?
Today the president admitted his administration was caught off guard. Who could have known Omicron was coming?
No, it’s not, because COVID is spreading so rapidly, if you notice. It just — just happened almost overnight, just in the last month. And —87
That’s an admission of sorts and the kind of cold, hard reality we might as well get used to.
The president also mentioned that he is not supposed to be having press conferences. Let’s leave more pointless speculation about the identity of the person who gives Biden his marching orders for another day.
I won’t bother to cite the press releases, statements, and damning remarks by Democrats who accused Donald Trump of killing Americans because he was unprepared for the pandemic. Let’s leave it at Rep. Filemon Vela’s (D-TX) September 2020 statement that “The President of the United States of America has admitted to mass murder.”88
That’s a pretty harsh accusation even for a Democrat. It’s not true, of course. I wouldn’t attempt to suggest that we hold Biden responsible, though given Democrats’ eagerness to hang the loss of life on Trump it would be entirely fair in a political tit for tat sort of way. When Vela made that remark we were still below 200,000 deaths. That’s less than 25% of where we are now. Even if Trump was unprepared, how much difference has the Democratic Party made with its control of Congress and the Oval Office?
The White House’s admission that it was surprised by Omicron is puzzling when you think about the warning shot delivered by Delta’s rapid spread and all the big science brains who are supposed to be able to predict these things even better than Donald Trump. Still, with Americans dying and the case count exploding this isn’t the time to play politics. Democrats reveled in American deaths and lied about responsibility for an event unprecedented in our history because consolidating their power was more important than bringing the nation together, saving lives, and refusing to politicize death. That’s why I’m not going to blame Biden for the same thing. Americans are better than that, lying Democratic Party politicians excepted.
*The president used the words vaccines, vaccinated, vaccination, and unvaccinated 58 times during today’s address. Vaccinated was used 42 times.
January 5, 2022: our governing liars turn to deception and disinformation instead of just telling the truth: COVID might kill you and we can’t stop it.
Now that President Biden has finally acknowledged that vaccines won’t prevent COVID-19 100% of the time in 100% of Americans who do what he says, the message has shifted from an overt lie to a bald-faced deception.
Today the White House COVID-19 response team followed up on the strange mix of blame and lukewarm reassurance we got from Biden yesterday with a message you will soon be sick and tired of hearing if you are not already:
First, we have the tools to keep ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities safe. And importantly, we have the tools we need to keep our schools open.89
No doubt the White House has access to monoclonal antibody and other treatments, so “we” isn’t an outright lie. If you go to the hospital sick with COVID and ask for this lifesaving therapy will you be able to get it? Not likely, unless you’re lucky enough to be a person of color in New York who falls under the state’s blatantly racist equity treatment guidelines. Need a test? Good luck with that, too. The lines for tests call to mind what we saw in Virginia on Monday.
Like anything else that offends the White House agenda none of this failure of big government public health to deliver for the American people really matters. What’s important is the narrative:
You can control how big an impact Omicron is going to have on your health if you get Omi- — Omicron.90
Is this true? We still don’t know. For the time being it sounds good until the White House has to change it story again. It’s about time to do that with the myth about unions reopening our schools:
Schools can and should be open this winter. We have all the tools to keep kids safe.91
“Can” and “should” aren’t the same as “are.” Just ask any parent in Chicago who found out this morning that their children won’t be going to school today because Chicago Teacher’s Union teachers voted to stay home.
Instead of spreading public health lies and then trying to cover them up with half-truths and disinformation, the White House could admit that nothing will keep us safe. Biden could fess up that he dropped the ball on treatments and tests and lied about vaccine effectiveness. This will never happen, of course. Instead, as the COVID situation in America deteriorates the usual Democrat emphasis on control will shift to a very Republican focus on individual responsibility: dead from COVID? We offered the tools to protect you.
UPDATE January 7, 2022: how many times can Kamala Harris not tell the truth in 788 words or less? This is how many.
I rarely pay attention to anything Kamala Harris says. On the occasions that she makes sense her canned, jargon-heavy messaging elicits more aggravation than it’s worth.
The vice president’s 788 word January 6 address was no exception. If you can look past her vague comparison of the Capitol riot to the thousands dead on 9/11 and the attack on Pearl Harbor, what you are left with is a litany of lies and mistruths that attest to why she is awful beyond words and a travesty as vice president.
This is what Kamala Harris wants you to know about January 6.
Let’s start here:
What the extremists who roamed these halls targeted was not only the lives of elected leaders.92
No elected leaders were harmed. None were killed. Not a single one. That’s a good thing, but given the number of people rioting if Harris is to be believed how is this possible? Could it be she’s not telling the truth about what the “extremists” were up to?
What they were assaulting were the institutions, the values, the ideals that generations of Americans have marched, picketed, and shed blood to establish and defend.93
The sacrifices of Americans who shed bled for our country were denigrated by Harris when she compared 9/11 and Pearl Harbor to January 6. She should meet with one of the families who lost a loved one in the Twin Towers or one of the few, if any remaining Pearl Harbor survivors to see how they feel about what she said.
Lawlessness, violence, and chaos.
On January 6th, we all saw what our nation would look like if the forces who seek to dismantle our democracy are successful. The lawlessness, the violence, the chaos.94
January 6 was a snapshot of a bad moment in our history, but we know for certain what widespread lawlessness really looks like thanks to 2020’s urban violence, 2021 and 2022’s big city crime waves, and the ongoing Biden-Harris border chaos.
Democrats aren’t the ones being silenced.
We cannot let our future be decided by those bent on silencing our voices, overturning our votes, and peddling lies and misinformation; by some radical faction that may be newly resurgent but whose roots run old and deep.95
By “radical faction” does Harris mean the weaponized Democrat Party? Her words describe the Biden administration’s threats against parents who don’t like what’s happening in their schools. They are reflected in Pelosi’s partisan Inquisition that threatens and intimidates conservatives who might have some tenuous connection to the events on January 6. Most important, silencing the voice of Republicans is what Democrats’ John Lewis Voting Fraud bill is all about. Since this is obvious to everyone, Harris could at least tell the truth about that.
Harris has no right to talk about the rule of law. Does she even know what it means?
You see, the strength of democracy is the rule of law.96
If this is true, then our democracy is finished. Biden, Harris, and their party destroyed it. If the VP took the time to visit the border she’d see an example of what no rule of law looks like. When she’s finished she should pay a visit to Democrat-run Chicago, too. If you’re going to talk about the rule of law you might as well see for yourself what happens when it vanishes.
One riot can overturn a presidential election.
The violent assault that took place here, the very fact of how close we came to an election overturned — that reflects the fragility of democracy.97
Really? A single riot overturns a presidential election? Either Harris is dumber than we feared, a terrible liar, or more likely both.
Loves ones lost.
Our thoughts are with all of the families who have lost a loved one.98
She tossed this one out all by itself with no explanation. Perhaps Harris knew she’d be called out but took a chance that her dwindling base might draw some false connection between mass casualties and January 6. When you’re being talked at by someone who thinks you are stupid and gullible nothing is off the table.
