UPDATE July 24, 2022:
Destroying the rule of law has dire consequences, so Biden attacks gun manufacturers.
A nation without laws is not a nation. It’s just a piece of real estate ripe for exploitation. Joe Biden obviously understands this or he wouldn’t aggressively pursue policies to destroy the rule of law.
The White House selectively applies the law to ensure administration policies don’t stray outside the limits enforced by radical woke ideologues. That makes the rule of law a political decision. This is a very dangerous state of affairs for Americans, especially in states and cities that swallowed the woke Kool-Aid and decided that criminals come before good, law-abiding people.
Thursday’s attack on Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) is a prima facie example of what is so terribly wrong with the president’s emphasis on mass shootings to the exclusion of the violent crime that impacts more Americans and can be traced to liberal criminal justice policies. First, the assailant didn’t use a gun. Second, he was released from custody almost immediately thanks to New York’s liberal no cash bail law only to be re-arrested on federal charges. Ironically, illegals benefit from the same catch and release treatment, although they no longer have to fear federal law or states and municipalities that refuse to hold illegal immigrant criminals for ICE.
Biden insists he’s a capitalist. Perhaps he’s referring to his private business dealings and whatever he’s up to with Hunter. Publicly, the president targets the private sector when the far left’s extremist agenda causes problems. Lacking the common decency to admit he screwed up with his successful attack on the fossil fuel industry and the exploding gas prices that resulted, he quickly blamed the same energy companies he vowed to destroy during his election campaign. When that got him nowhere he demanded that small business owners immediately slash their price at the pump to get him off the hook for the damage he caused.
Call that tyranny, autocracy, or whatever you wish. Using the government to destroy an industry the nation relies on more than any other is not capitalism. For now we’ll call it stupidity.
It turns out Biden’s violence problem has a lot in common with his energy problem. A recent White House meeting with state lawmakers included representatives from Delaware and massive, Democrat Party-controlled states New York, California, and Illinois. Residents in all three of these liberal sanctuaries are suffering from woke criminal justice laws. We just watched Zeldin’s would-be killer released. California is a haven for criminals thanks to no cash bail laws, Proposition 47, and liberal law enforcement officials like LA County DA George Gascon. Illinois’ very own no cash bail law goes into effect in 2023, right after Democrat Governor JB Pritzker’s reelection bid. The impact this will have on street violence in Chicago is unimaginable.
All three states have massive crime problems. The White House admits that gun safety laws aren’t working, but ignores the obvious in favor of attacking the firearms industry:
For example, Illinois already has many gun safety laws in place – but in the wake of the horrific mass shooting in Highland Park on July 4, 2022, legislative leaders are considering additional measures to combat gun violence, including gun industry accountability measures.459
While woke officials like Gason impose lenient sentencing and let criminals go free, the Biden administration hypocritically blames the gun industry for lack of accountability to victims of violence:
This [Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act] law denies many victims of gun violence their day in court, and establishes a barrier preventing the public from holding gunmakers accountable and demanding reforms to their marketing and sales practices.460
This attack on gun manufacturers is the sort of top-down, ideologically-driven foolishness we expect from the president and a Democrat Party that continues to spread the myth that violent crime is an issue for social services to deal with. Destroying the rule of law sends a strong message that violence will be tolerated because it is not the fault of the criminal. That same logic is not applied to perpetrators of mass shootings, though they likely represent those most in need of this kind of help if that’s the excuse we’re going to use for violent crime. Instead, Biden holds private industry accountable for actions it cannot control while horrendous urban violence that has nothing to do with the assault-style weapons his party wants to outlaw explodes.
UPDATE July 26, 2022:
Biden doesn’t fear the truth. He doesn’t care about the truth, even when it comes to admitting his enormous success at destroying our great economy and your wonderful life.
Thomas Jefferson said “The man who fears no truth has nothing to fear from lies.” He didn’t take into account a man like Joe Biden who is not fearful of the truth because he doesn’t care. The president doesn’t even seem to be bothered by whether we believe his obvious lies or those issued by White House officials. Biden is an autocrat. What we think makes no difference. He can say whatever he wants and we can take it or leave it because the consent of the governed is no longer relevant.
So pervasive is the absence of truth from this administration that it’s safe to say nothing we hear from the White House should be believed. If Biden says the sun rises in the East, you had better check it out.
The Biden administration’s policy to address every crisis with a lie brought us Putin’s price hike. When that failed, denunciation of alleged gouging by the fossil fuel industry and gas station owners followed even though most Americans heard the president vow to end fossil fuels during the 2020 campaign and know he’s worked hard to make it happen.
We also heard that vaccines protect us from contracting COVID. What we already knew was just confirmed by our double-boosted president’s illness. Not long ago inflation was transitory. Now it’s not transitory and much higher. Last week we heard from DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas that the border is secure. While the Biden administration’s free and open border may be secure in the eyes of far left immigration activists, anyone watching border footage on the news or reading the astounding reports from Customs and Border Protection can see that this is not the case. The administration doesn’t care. Mayorkas says the border is secure, so the border is secure.
One thing the White House should admit the truth about is the president’s successful collusion with Green New Deal socialists to destroy America’s economy. His strategy paid off in droves, but since not all Americans are pleased with what Biden has accomplished we’re hearing that a recession isn’t at all what we think it is.
Treasury Secretary Janet “Transitory” Yellen set economically naïve Americans straight:
Secretary Yellen also went further in-depth, explaining that some economic slow-down is healthy right now with such a strong labor market, as the Federal Reserve addresses inflation and we transition to steady and sustainable growth, and discussed the actions the Biden Administration has been taking to lower prices for the American people.461
This is not an economy that’s in recession. But we’re in a period of transition in which growth is slowing and that’s necessary and appropriate and we need to be growing at a steady and sustainable pace.462
Do we have any reason to believe her? Of course not. When you shelve your plans to retire this year, or explain to your kids why the family vacation will be in the back yard, or make the decision that affording the drive to work is more important than filling your prescriptions or going out to dinner, or scrap plans to buy your dream house, remember that what’s happening to you is a good thing. It’s healthy and absolutely not a recession. The White House says so.
UPDATE July 28, 2022:
Biden destroys all confidence in Democrats new inflation-killing spending spree with four words.
I’ll admit I didn’t hear all of Joe Biden’s speech today pushing his party’s Inflation Reduction Act as substitute for his failed Build Back Better spending plan. I turned him off after I heard four words that told me all I needed to know: “former Vice President Al Gore.”
That’s when I knew what we are in for if Democrats manage to get this new legislative abomination through the Senate after the usual slam dunk passage in the House.
Elizabeth Warren’s (D-MA) endorsement didn’t instill my confidence, either:
Progressive leaders like Senator Elizabeth Warren said, quote, this bill — “This is a bill that truly is about fighting inflation, bringing down the cost for families, and putting our country on a sounder economic footing.463
Warren’s statement might be off the cuff, but frankly it sounds phony and made up (like Warren). I had already turned the president off at this point because of the Gore endorsement:
This bill has won the support of climate leaders like former Vice President Al Gore who said the bill is, quote, “long overdue and a necessary step to ensure the United States takes decisive action on the climate crisis that helps our economy and provides leadership for the world by example.”464
I pictured one of Biden’s handlers scribbling down Gore’s words after he was advised of the required messaging. His comment sounds as phony and made up as Warren’s, which may be because almost anything Democrats say these days sounds phony and made up.
Things are so bad that the White House is relying on climate doomsayer Al Gore to back up Joe and the Democrats. I can’t think of a better reason to reject this legislation out of hand.
UPDATE July 31, 2022:
Biden fails America again, destroys our remaining credibility on the world stage, and hands the reigns to Xi.
Imagine an American news outlet threatening to murder a Chinese Communist Party official if they cross an imaginary red line, perhaps by taking an action that threatens Taiwan’s independence. The rebuke from Beijing would be immediate and extreme.
Now imagine what happens when Chinese media threatens to murder America’s Speaker of the House by shooting down her plane for simply visiting the island nation?
Neither the American people nor the CCP heard the no holds barred response we absolutely had to hear from President Biden after last week’s threats. Xi Jinping promised that if we play with fire, America will perish by it. Our allies, adversaries, and most important Americans need to know without reservation that the president of the United States will stand up to any nation that threatens us and that we have the power and strength to prevail no matter what.
Not only do we not know this, we have every reason to doubt that it’s true.
Nineteen months of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Anthony Blinken have already weakened America’s international influence and our role as the preeminent global superpower to such an extent that China fears no retaliation, verbal or otherwise, for anything it does. The CCP has no fear of flooding America with fentanyl thanks to the Biden-Harris-Mayorkas open border, no hesitation to steal our intellectual property or to flood our greedy universities with its citizens so they can export what they learn or worse, what they steal.
China is also off the hook for the release of a catastrophic pathogen that has killed over one million Americans to date and countless millions worldwide. Was this an intentional attack on the world economy, a lab accident, or an unavoidable quirk of biology? We can depend on Biden to ensure that we never know. Instead, lifting Trump’s China trade sanctions is very much on the table as this president stamps out everything that was working so well before he took office so we can listen to him lie and cast blame for the damage he’s caused.
Like other domestic and foreign policy threats the Biden administration addresses by pretending they aren’t happening, the threat of China is growing exponentially because of America’s historic weakness. Could Xi’s threats result in a nuclear conflagration that would bring on the environmental apocalypse Biden and Democrat Party climate socialists keep warning about?
We don’t have to worry about that. Rest assured that whatever China does, Biden will be more than willing to go along for the ride.
UPDATE August 5, 2022:
Biden celebrates vicious attack on America’s economy.
Democrats are about to address a recession the Biden administration pretends isn’t happening by passing another gargantuan spending bill. Time is short to fund our weaponized federal government and the Biden socialist climate agenda. In a matter of months Democrats are likely to be kicked out for precisely this kind of irresponsible abuse of our economy and the resulting pain dished out to the American people.
Sage economic advice dictates that no sane government raises taxes in a recession, but sanity is not a problem Biden has to contend with. He has plenty of ideologues and let’s face it, liars on hand to gaslight the public and deny the reality of the damage he’s caused.
Democrats raise defense spending but it’s not about defending America or you.
By now you’ve heard some of the places the “Inflation Reduction Act” will deposit your hard-earned money. In particular, $79.6 billion goes to the IRS. According to the Congressional Research Service the agency will benefit by a 69% increase in enforcement spending and 53% hike in operations support.465
Support for taxpayers? We get 9%.
This is defense spending for Democrats pure and simple. It’s safe to predict that we are going to see a deluge of IRS investigations targeting right-wing organizations, corporations that don’t follow the Biden autocracy’s woke ideology, and prominent Republicans in advance of the 2024 election. The president has successfully weaponized federal agencies against our country and people, so we have absolutely no reason to expect that the IRS won’t follow the lead of the FBI and Homeland Security.
Three promises Biden won’t keep.
The president’s statement after this vicious legislative attack on Americans and our economy included three promises he won’t keep. He colluded with Democrats to move this bill to the finish line. Now Americans who are already struggling will be on the hook to fund the radical left’s socialist climate agenda. It doesn’t matter. Biden doesn’t care. Neither does anyone in his party. All that matters is hanging onto power and privilege no matter what.
Let’s start with the president’s most egregious promise:
Tonight, we’ve taken another critical step toward reducing inflation and the cost of living for America’s families.466
I’m not an economist, but I’d wager if we sit back and wait we’re going to see what happens when you spend big and raise taxes during a recession caused in large part by too much spending. This leads us to an outright lie:
It will make our tax system more fair by making corporations pay a minimum tax. It will not raise taxes on those making less than $400,000, and it will reduce the deficit.467
Americans aren’t stupid. We know very well how corporate tax increases work. When costs go up for the companies we depend on for goods and services our costs rise in response. The president may be a socialist steeped more in CCP economics than American capitalism, but in his rare lucid moments he certainly understands this. It doesn’t matter. Biden doesn’t care.
The president wrapped up his statement with the really bad news:
It also makes the largest investment in history in combatting climate change and increasing energy security, creating jobs here in the US and saving people money on their energy costs.468
There you have it. The climate change policies that are costing you big time on everything from fuel to food to your small business’ shipping charges are suddenly going to start saving you money.
We have every reason to believe this is not true. It doesn’t matter. Biden doesn’t care and neither do the Democrats who will pass this destructive spending bill that they probably hope won’t hurt us too much until after the midterms.
UPDATE August 9, 2022:
Biden administration works overtime to destroy the many great things about our country, but fear not. What happened yesterday will make America great again.
No American takes kindly to government intrusion, coercion, harassment, or persecution. Even Democrats resent these things, though they are inclined to make exceptions if the unlucky target is a political opponent.
Donald Trump is the preeminent opponent of the Democrat Party. In his four years as president he did what Democrats promise before every election but never deliver. Life was good. The economy thrived. Unemployment plummeted. We stood up to our adversaries. Our sovereign border was controlled. American greatness was reborn.
Democrats hated him for it. They still do. They always will.
A president that makes life in America better instead of perpetually kicking the can down the road with empty promises is an unacceptable threat to a Washington liberal political hegemony that thrives on unhappiness, strife, and victimhood.
Joe Biden has gone out of his way to restore that unhappiness and strife. His ideologues find new ways create victims ripe for politicizing. The president, or whoever makes the decisions for him worked hard to help Democrats create rampant inflation, punishing high prices, and an open and lawless border invaded every day by foreign nationals unknown. He makes fools of us on the global stage because there is nothing great about vulnerability to America’s adversaries and not being great is the goal of almost everything Biden does on our behalf.
I neither know nor care whether the president was aware of, authorized, or was completely in the dark about yesterday’s raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence. Was Trump hater Pelosi involved – did she conspire with AG Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray? It doesn’t matter. What matters is how this exercise in government persecution will mobilize conservatives and perhaps even some Democrats who are fed up with a weaponized bureaucracy that focuses far too much effort on the persecution of a single individual while everything that makes America great falls apart or is reinvented to our detriment, people are murdered in broad daylight in our streets, the southern border is purposely kept wide open and unprotected, and China steps up to take our place as leader of a world that soon will no longer be free.
There are lots of Americans who believe with no reservations or guilt that our nation deserves to be the greatest on earth. It makes no difference whether there was a legitimate purpose to the FBI raid or even whether Trump broke the law. It’s appearances that matter. Caught up in the zeal to attack everything Trump the Biden administration’s weaponized government made a colossal mistake. By trying to make Trump our national pariah they made him a hero, a man persecuted for his leadership and patriotism. That’s the public image of Donald Trump the Biden administration created. Our country will be great again because of it. We have Joe Biden and his determination to destroy America to thank for making it happen.
