March 10, 2022, 10:00 a.m.:
Biden shows how little he cares and forgets what he said yesterday about gas prices.
The White House spun the bad news about prices and inflation after the release of the updated CPI this morning. The president is still trying to convince us that Vladimir Putin is responsible:
A large contributor to inflation this month was an increase in gas and energy prices as markets reacted to Putin’s aggressive actions. As I have said from the start, there will be costs at home as we impose crippling sanctions in response to Putin’s unprovoked war, but Americans can know this: the costs we are imposing on Putin and his cronies are far more devastating than the costs we are facing.249
It’s hard to imagine that any U.S. president would say this to Americans who are suffering, but Biden has already demonstrated that he simply doesn’t care. Instead, he tosses out more vacuous promises like claiming he is “pressing Congress to pass my plan to lower the cost of essentials like prescription drugs and energy.”250
Nancy Pelosi has making the lower prescription drug price promise for years, so we have no reason to believe it now. As far as gas prices are concerned, Biden seems to have forgotten what he said yesterday about what he can do to help out:
Can’t do much right now. Russia is responsible.
I thought Biden promised that the buck stops with him, not Putin.
He probably forgot about that, too.
UPDATE March 11, 2022:
Great thing about America #70: America’s great presidents had respect and empathy. Biden spent the week telling us we’re stupid and we should f*** off.
Joe Biden continued to spin his tale of great things to come in a speech at the Democrat National Committee Winter Meeting yesterday:
We’re going to improve the lives of millions of Americans. We’ll meet the great challenges of our time: voting rights, climate crisis, gun violence, criminal justice, immigration, and so much more. (Applause.)
It’s literally within our power to do this. (Applause.) And we can make sure that this nation is going to continue to be what it’s always been.251
As long as this president is in the White House America will be the antithesis of the great nation we’ve always been. American greatness didn’t come from the kinds of solutions Biden favors for his “great challenges of our time:” destroying the sanctity of the vote, using a progressive climate crisis to transition our economy to socialism, cracking down on law-abiding citizens while gun violence explodes in our cities, letting violent criminals walk the streets in the name of “justice,” and imposing an immigration agenda that begins with a borderless nation.
The fact that many, if not most Americans don’t want any of these things doesn’t matter. Biden doesn’t care. What’s important is what the Democrat Party’s financial backers want.
The president also mentioned gas prices during his speech:
But we need to be honest with the American people: The battle for freedom has its costs here at home, as well. People already — already feeling Putin’s price hikes at the pump.252
Honesty? Apparently he thought his DNC audience was just as dumb as he regards the American people.
It’s painfully clear that Biden doesn’t care what Americans think, what we want, or what we care about. He’s going to hurt us because that’s what his agenda requires. The fact that middle and working class families can’t afford the price hikes he’s now trying to pass off on Vladimir Putin and can see through his gaslighting are irrelevant to Biden, or would be if he took the time to give it some thought.
Two days ago the president told us that gas prices were going to go up and he couldn’t do anything about it. Yesterday he assured cash strapped Americans that Putin’s costs would be even higher than ours. Putin is a butcher and a war criminal. Is there any reason the costs to him shouldn’t be higher?
We might be able to accept this as the crass ramblings of a fading politician in way, way over his head if it weren’t for the flood of propaganda and disinformation about America’s domestic energy industry. By week’s end the White House resorted to charges of profit taking in lieu of drilling, perhaps assuming that Americans punished by high gas prices would pick an enemy other than the one responsible.
This morning we heard yet another story from the White House press office trying to stave off the argument that gas prices were rising well before the invasion of Ukraine because of Biden’s progressivism:
But I’m glad you raised this, because the New York Times had a very conclusive fact check yesterday. The headline was: “Republicans Wrongly Blame Biden for Rising Gas Prices.” And so I think it’s important to note that independent arbiters in the press have consulted experts and they have deemed that these attacks are disingenuous and that the rising gas prices you’ve seen all over the world, but beforehand, are due to the pandemic and pressures that has put on international supply.253
So Biden’s actions have absolutely nothing to do with our high gas prices. It’s Putin. It’s profiteering by our greedy energy companies. It’s COVID-19.
The message to the American people is clear: I think you’re stupid. I’m going to hurt you if you don’t agree with me and if you don’t like it, you can f*** off.
UPDATE March 15, 2022:
Liberal elites don’t make America great, so why did snobbish Biden just insult you for not being rich enough to benefit from his economy?
The president insulted half-bright Americans to please an audience of DNC donors.
In his inaugural address Joe Biden told us we had arrived at “democracy’s day:”
The will of the people has been heard and the will of the people has been heeded.254
That was a God help us moment.
The president’s approval rating screams buyer’s remorse, but Americans who made this terrible choice are stuck with their decision. Kamala Harris assured us the people got what they voted for. She is correct. Now Biden is free to inflict whatever anguish his progressive agenda requires.
The president told us how he regards the American people during his Monday address at a DNC fundraiser. He callously slapped a figure on how much his policies will save families hurt by his economy:
In advance of our aggressive climate goals, we’re going to cut costs for families — an average of $500 a year. It’s not something anybody at this table worries about, but as my dad used to say, when everything from the price of gasoline to heating your home goes up, it’s a subject at the — at the dinner table. It’s real.255
Apparently Americans who are not as well-heeled as DNC fundraiser attendees worry about mundane things like gas prices and the cost of food while they eat their meals. Wealthy Democratic elites have better things to think about.
$500 for a family of four works out to $2.40 per person per week. That’s not a solution for what Biden has done. It’s a slap in the face and an insult to Americans forced to make ends meet because the president put big money activists and climte lobbyists ahead of the welfare of the people.
With this condescending bit of cake for the voters who put him office out of the way, Biden got down to what’s important to the well-heeled elites who matter:
And — and so, we have to get off the dependency on fossil fuels — a subject matter I’ve spoken over, I don’t know, 75 to 100 times over the last four months; trying to keep NATO together and the EU. I mean, literally, not figuratively — meaning both here and there. And the dependence of Europe on fossil fuels is — way exceeds any dependence we have.256
I don’t know if anyone in the room or even Biden himself understood what he said. The rest of his remarks applauded White House actions that shed light on why his claim that Putin’s war is responsible for our high energy prices is entirely false:
Second thing: I’m going to continue to take executive actions where I can. The Court has overruled me a couple of times. But we created a climate office in the White House to carry out the whole-of-government effort to deal with climate.257
He helped raise the cost of cars and trucks to an all-time high:
I’ve signed executive orders ranging from the most ambitious fuel economy standards for cars and trucks to taking on super-polluting hydrofluorocarbons. And we’re going to continue to be aggressive on the executive front as well.258
After placing his climate cards on the table, Biden insulted the economic smarts of the people he hurt to flatter his audience:
The third thing is we have to continue to catalyze private investment and bring everybody along, which you all know much more about that than the vast majority of Americans.259
Biden may think Americans are uninformed about his priorities, but most of us know better than the president what’s wrong with this statement:
And the infrastructure law — it was going to take us a long way. For example, we’re going to provide 500,000 charging stations for electric vehicles; that is motivating both utilities, car companies, and states to invest their own money in deploying these chargers as well.260
I picture rows and rows of chargers and no cars to plug in. Biden may not understand why but I think most of you do, especially after your new car savings go into your old car’s gas tank.
UPDATE March 19, 2022:
If Biden can’t completely destroy America from within, he’ll solicit help from outside. That’s exactly what he’s doing and we need to call it what it is.
Does the Biden administration know the word for giving aid and comfort to foreigners who invade America?
Mitt Romney does. Thank Utah’s RINO senator for bringing treason into the spotlight in a different context for all the wrong reasons. A Washington Examiner piece on Romney’s “treasonous lies” attack on Tulsi Gabbard clarified the constitutional definition of treason, which includes giving aid and comfort to America’s enemies.261
Democrats accused Trump of treason and turn a blind eye to Biden.
Democrats were quick to slap the treason label on Donald Trump. Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) demanded that the “entire administration” “be tried for crimes against our nation and Constitution:”
Donald Trump and members of his administration have committed innumerable crimes against the United States,” said Rep. Pascrell. “He has endangered our national security. He ripped families apart. He poisoned the Census. He has personally profited from his office. He has attacked our elections and sought to throttle democracy. He was rightly impeached by the House of Representatives. He has engaged in treachery, in treason. He has all but given up on governing and protecting our nation and if he had a shred of dignity he would resign today.262
Activist party members have nothing but praise for Joe Biden. They turn a blind partisan eye while he allows illegals to invade our country and Americans to overdose on record amounts of fentanyl coming across the Southwest border.
Drug smugglers, foreign gang members, human traffickers, and terror watch list suspects benefit from dangerous Biden White House policies. How bad does this have to get before we call out what Biden is doing by name?
Biden’s border crisis gives aid and comfort to America’s enemies.
The last time I checked America didn’t advocate drug smuggling, gang violence, or human trafficking and slavery. In fact, we spend a lot of taxpayer dollars to prevent these things.
Biden’s border successes speak for themselves. Record numbers of foreign invaders have trespassed into our country knowing they will be welcomed with open arms thanks to the president’s borderless immigration agenda. The results were predictable. CBP reported a massive increase of 1,734,686 Southwest border encounters in FY 2021 compared to 458,088 encounters in FY 2020. The border patrol has already recorded 838,685 encounters for the first five months of FY 2022.263
Simultaneously, record amounts of deadly fentanyl entered our country during the first year of Biden’s presidency:
The average amount of fentanyl seized from 2018 through 2020 was 321 pounds a month. Through the first nine months of this year , the monthly average is 830 pounds.264
News reports of fentanyl overdoses are ubiquitous, including last week’s news reports of West Point cadets who were hospitalized after overdosing.
Human trafficking has also surged. Biden’s immigration policies are making big money for cartels and other criminals smuggling illegals across the border.
Noting that the administration keeps us in the dark as to the real numbers of illegals allowed in, Florida Senator Rick Scott summed up Biden and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ accomplishments:
Thanks to the Biden administration’s open border and amnesty policies, there have been nearly 1.7 million apprehensions at our southern border JUST THIS YEAR, with virtually zero immigrant vetting process being enforced – he’s just laying out a welcome mat for human traffickers and savage cartels bringing drugs and crime to our communities, and blatantly ignoring U.S. laws and policies that are designed to keep America safe.265
How does America’s president address the crisis he created? Before reporting on the war in Ukraine covered up what’s happening at the border the administration was accused of planting illegals around the country under cover of night:
President Biden’s policies have created a humanitarian and national security crisis at our border. Instead of tackling this crisis, reversing his failed policies, supporting our hardworking border agents and securing our border, Biden’s administration is transporting illegal migrants to other states in the dead of the night,” said Rep. [Daniel, R-FL) Webster.266
Am I accusing Joe Biden of treason? No. I’m not an attorney or a constitutional scholar, but it’s something Republicans should think about when they retake Congress after the November midterms. Providing aid and comfort to foreigners invading our country and killing Americans with lethal drugs defines the president’s destructive immigration agenda. It needs to stop now, but no one in the Biden administration has any intention of halting their mission to destroy America from within and failing that, by accepting help from without.
UPDATE March 22, 2022:
Great thing about America #71: America’s commander in chief is a strong, resolute leader who inspires confidence in our people and deters aggressors.
Biden makes us fear for America’s place in his new world order.
A March 22, 2021 Government Accountability Office report on hypersonic weapons begins with a statement we should pay close attention to:
Hypersonic missiles, which move at least five times the speed of sound and have unpredictable flight paths, are expected to be capable of evading today’s U.S. defensive systems.267
This is not good news if the reports that Vladimir Putin used one of these weapons in Ukraine are true. With WWIII snarling at our heels our commander in chief’s remarks on this development don’t inspire confidence. In fact, one of the biggest security threats we face is Biden’s open mouth and that assumes we can understand what he’s trying to say. Such was the case with comments made yesterday before a Business Roundtable Quarterly Meeting:
And, if you notice, they’ve just launched a — their hypersonic missile, because it’s the only thing that they can get through with absolute certainty. It’s — as you all know, it’s a consequential weapon. And — but — with the same warhead on it as a — as any other launched missile. It doesn’t make that much difference, except it’s almost impossible to stop it. There’s a reason they’re using it.268
This time the warhead was not nuclear, but a nuclear-capable missile in enemy hands that travels 3,800 miles per hour and can’t be stopped sounds like it makes a lot of difference.
One moment we’re ahead and “our response is working.” Then the president dashes our hopes:
And now Putin’s back is against the wall. He wasn’t anticipating the extent or the strength of our unity. And the more his back is against the wall, the greater the severity of the tactics he may employ.269
We should assume that those tactics include the hypersonic missile that doesn’t make much difference.
Biden was speaking to a collection of corporate bigwigs, so cyberattacks were also on the table as were more confidence-killing remarks:
But, look, today my administration has issued renewed warnings that, based on evolving intelligence, Russia may be planning a cyberattack against us.
And as I’ve said, the magnitude of Russia’s cyber capacity is fairly consequential, and it’s coming.270
A damaging cyberattack would likely be an act of war best prevented with Putin’s certain knowledge of America’s overwhelming strength and strong leadership. Instead, Biden implied that this attack is inevitable and shifted responsibility for damage control to the private sector:
The federal government is doing its part to get ready. But under U.S. law, as you all remember, the private sector, all of you, largely decides the protections that we will or will not take in order to protect your sources.271
He concluded with a dream made impossible by his lack of strong leadership:
And now is a time when things are shifting. We’re going to — there’s going to be a new world order out there, and we’ve got to lead it. And we’ve got to unite the rest of the free world in doing it.272
Biden never said how America will lead this brave new world order with a weak, irresolute leader who inspires no confidence and undermines American strength and greatness every time he speaks. Sadly, our president is leaving that role to the adults in the game who are not friendly to our interests or America’s future survival.
