UPDATE October 9, 2021:
Great Thing About America #51: protecting our people is America’s first priority
The president couldn’t even get through the first sentence of his Joint Statement: U.S.-Mexico High Level Security Dialogue without lying:
As two nations with an enduring partnership based on sovereignty, mutual respect, and the extraordinary bond of family and friendship, the United States and Mexico need and want to face security challenges together.159
If Biden had a shred of honesty he would admit that he ended American sovereignty on January 20, 2021. He faces the enormous security challenge created by his open border policy with jargon-laden drivel about a “data-driven approach” and “effective strategies” while he ignores what’s happening at a now non-existent national boundary he refuses to even visit. Did someone trick him into thinking plausible deniability will get him off the hook for what he’s done?
I can’t imagine why the president thinks Mexico respects us. Mexico should be laughing in our face while its cartels shoot at the U.S. from the Mexican side of the border. Our “partner” should be rolling on the floor as tens of thousands of illegals invade our country and our president does nothing to stop it. The best we get is a ridiculous press release about trans-national organized crime and high-level security that doesn’t even use the words “migrants,” “immigrants,” or “immigration.”
Instead of the massive response we expect from our commander-in-chief, Biden lies to the American people about respect for our sovereignty while the U.S. is invaded:
In the lead-up to 2022, when we celebrate 200 years of bilateral relations between the United States and Mexico, we propose a new vision of regional security and collaboration anchored in respect for the sovereignty of each country.160
“Protect our people” is just a memo and another lie
If you think Biden’s use of “sovereignty” has anything to do with our border problem, or that protecting our people means no open border, guess again:
To protect our people, we intend to pursue a Memorandum of Understanding to reduce substance abuse disorder and associated harms, with the intent to develop plans to prevent drug consumption, provide evidence-based treatment, and strengthen early warning systems and ability to track demand.161
Instead of relying on a worthless memo about drug abuse made worse by the absence of U.S. sovereignty, the president could protect the border and with it the American people. Obviously, he’s not going to do that and it’s almost too late anyway.
Biden’s refusal to protect our citizens from the consequences of his border agenda is inexplicable. At least some of the people harmed must vote for Democrats and therefore be deemed worthy of protection. The rest of us better rely on our own security until the White House figures out how to take that away, too.
The president made an enormously cynical calculation that packing America with illegals is more important for his party than protecting our people. This will have little or no impact on him other than sagging poll numbers. The America we love is on track to be completely destroyed by Biden before the next presidential election, so with the deed done putting Americans in harm’s way is of little consequence to this White House.
UPDATE October 12, 2021:
Great Thing About America #52: America supports employers and job creators, not illegal workers
In keeping with Biden administration efforts to put private employers under the thumb of authoritarian big government, Homeland Security went to bat for illegals and attacked employers as part of a strategy to “protect the American labor market:”
The Department of Homeland Security has a critical role to ensure our Nation’s workplaces comply with our laws,” said Secretary Mayorkas. “We will not tolerate unscrupulous employers who exploit unauthorized workers, conduct illegal activities, or impose unsafe working conditions. Employers engaged in illegal acts compel the focus of our enforcement resources. 162
Is Biden’s come one, come all border policy bringing so few illegals into our country that we need to assure them our employers are the problem and they have nothing to worry about if they want to take a job from an American?
This new DHS message really isn’t all that new. Obama Labor Secretary Hilda Solis also spread the word about illegal worker rights. Under Biden this is just more of the same anti-business rhetoric. Employers are our enemies whether that means taking advantage of illegals, not forcing employees to get the COVID vaccine, or being one of the filthy rich corporations that doesn’t pay enough taxes to fund socialist climate change legislation.
Since there is no way to guarantee that any employee you hire is a legal U.S. resident, the best solution to avoid workplace claims that will inevitably lean in favor of unhappy illegal immigrants is to either stop hiring, or fall back on discriminatory hiring practices to limit the risk of hiring an illegal foreign national. That’s where Biden is leading us until he decides the federal government also has the power to put mandatory inclusiveness quotas in place. How many transgendered illegal immigrants do you think he can force your company to employ?
UPDATE October 19, 2021:
Great Thing About America #53: the buck stops in the Oval Office
With all the questions about who is really running the country it would be smart for someone in charge to instruct Joe Biden to not raise any more doubts.
That’s not what is happening.
In yesterday’s appearance at the 2021 State and National Teachers of the Year Event the Biden half of the Biden-Harris administration opened with this zinger:
My name is Joe Biden, and I’m Jill’s husband.163
To those of us who are not Democrats and don’t work in the left-wing media that comment wasn’t funny. Never was Biden poking fun at his legitimacy:
You know, when we decided to run and we got elected — Jill elected me — (laughter) — you all think I’m kidding, huh? (Laughter.)164
The humor over the president’s capacity or lack thereof stopped being funny a long time ago. This isn’t a Gerald Ford or Dan Quayle moment. This is the real thing, replete with an over-ambitious and nuclear-ready China, people from all around the globe swarming over the border, goods piling up at the ports, inflation and prices rising, and Joe Biden’s leadership whereabouts unknown.
Who, exactly, is in charge of this mess? “Doctor” Jill obviously plays a pivotal role in keeping Joe oriented as to time and place. The second half of the Biden-Harris administration doesn’t seem to have the wherewithal to do much of anything, so the idea that she is even involved in policy decisions seems far-fetched.
Is it Pelosi? Obama?? Hunter Biden???
Does it matter? When Afghanistan derailed his presidency Biden said the buck stops with him:
I am President of the United States of America, and the buck stops with me.165
At first that sounded like a mea culpa, but he kept talking:
I am deeply saddened by the facts we now face.166
Does he mean the facts he created like the unpardonable offense of leaving Americans behind, or the blood on his hands from the 13 service members who died because of bad White House decision-making? These aren’t facts that came out of nowhere. They are things that happened because those in charge made fatal mistakes.
Perhaps the president thought “the buck stops with me” means the Oval Office is where consequences end. That’s not how it works. Afghanistan is a stain on America that will not vanish any more than the illegals we continue to usher in despite DHS Chief Mayorkas’ assurance that the border is not open.
So the question remains, who is the real president? Who is responsible? Is it Joe Biden? He doesn’t act like it when he talks about what he is and isn’t allowed to do. If he’s shouldering the blame for someone else bent on destroying America it’s time he finds another job before he goes down in history as a dupe who let someone else bring our incredible success story to a screeching halt.
UPDATE October 20, 2021:
Great Thing About America #54: we are privileged by America’s greatness.
I finally thought of one good thing to say about illegal immigrants. They understand America’s greatness, albeit for all the wrong reasons. If only our president felt the same way.
Forget the America-hating narrative that shames privilege. We are privileged to be Americans. Time and again our country has delivered beyond not only our hopes and dreams, but those of the world. American greatness isn’t a myth. It isn’t something to be ashamed of or apologize for. It’s not a political statement, though attacking our greatness is currently fashionable with the perpetually enraged left.
Joe Biden has gone out of his way to destroy America’s greatness beginning with the foundations of the over-performing Trump economy. He relied on identity politics to choose the questionably competent hacks and ideologues that he thinks our country deserves. Biden has eroded our image on the world stage and seems content to let China take over and escape all accountability for COVID-19 while Russia remains his party’s favorite boogeyman.
Yesterday Jen Psaki addressed America’s stalled supply chain with a typically snarky remark about undelivered treadmills. She mocked Americans about this “tragedy,” another subtle reminder that Democrats don’t believe in America’s greatness and would be much more comfortable condemning wealth and privilege.
The president’s memory can be touch and go at times, so he probably forgot what he promised in his inaugural address:
This is America’s day.
This is democracy’s day.
A day of history and hope.
Of renewal and resolve.167
This was the first and knowing what we know now, only shard of hope we will ever get from Biden. Everything he touches speaks to mediocrity and failure. Forget American greatness. That’s not something this administration is even remotely capable of embracing and that’s assuming it wants to.
The real tragedy is not undelivered treadmills or delayed Christmas gifts. This week the Biden administration put another knife in the back of America’s greatness. Should we be surprised?
Joe’s greatest failing began on day one and has nothing to do with ships waiting in the harbor or store shelves emptied of goods. I’ll let the president speak for himself:
To overcome these challenges – to restore the soul and to secure the future of America – requires more than words.
It requires that most elusive of things in a democracy:
He said it twice for emphasis, as if he believed his words.
Unity has always been the foundation of our greatness.
Biden destroyed that, too.
UPDATE October 27, 2021: Biden just destroyed all respect for the presidency with more lying nonsense that treats Americans like ignorant fools.
By now we’ve gotten over the Biden administration’s assertion that our borders are not open. We know it’s a lie.
One big lie should be enough for any president concerned about credibility, but Biden obviously doesn’t care. He reinvented the truth in New Jersey on Monday in a transparently fraudulent effort to sell his far left Build Back Better scheme.
It’s obvious to anyone paying attention that Biden is faltering dangerously, but that doesn’t stop him from treating the American people like ignorant fools who will buy whatever lying nonsense his speechwriters put on the teleprompter:
These bills are not about left versus right, or moderate versus progressive, or anything else that pits an Amer- — one American against one another.169
Apparently it’s difficult to say “American” when everything you do is designed to divide the nation, destroy the great things that “American” stands for, and redefine the boundaries of radical left progressivism.
The bulls*** didn’t end there. Not by a long shot. With the disastrous consequences of a Joe Biden White House piling up the president handed us an all or nothing choice:
These bills are about competitiveness versus complacency — competitiveness versus complacency. They’re about expanding opportunity, not opportunity denied. They’re about leading the world or continuing to let the world pass us by.170
He didn’t say whether letting the world pass us by refers to our lost energy independence on his watch or an education system subservient to arrogant, destructive woke stupidity that is more interested in whether to allow boys in skirts in the girls’ restroom than STEM learning. Is this because the only jobs Biden is interested in creating are working class jobs for the Americans targeted as Democrat Party dependents?
Biden admits our schools aren’t up to the challenges of our adversaries:
And we used to lead the world in educational achievement.171
Universal preschool and childcare assistance won’t change that, but these things will be necessary when every parent is forced to work to make ends meet as our economy deteriorates further and prices and inflation rise.
What might make a difference is pulling our taxpayer-supported public schools from the clutches of radical activists who are more concerned with creating racism and adding new letters to their ever-expanding, all-inclusive list of gender acronyms than teaching our children.
It’s reassuring that the familiar Democrat Party enemy is still on the table:
I’ve never seen a time in American history when the middle class did well and the wealthy didn’t do very well.172
Even ignorant fools like us understand that wealthy people like Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and other members of our ruling class will always do better. Transferring income won’t change that. The rich will still be rich. The middle class, which is really the working and impoverished classes in deceptive Democratspeak, will stay right where it is because that’s where these Americans are of most use to Biden and his party.
The president faltered again and finally told the truth:
Look, we haven’t passed the transformation — the transformative infrastructure bill for a decade.173
This is all about a grand transformation to the far left orchestrated by our unseen leaders and their not very credible front man.
The president concluded with a question that deserves an answer:
What are we doing? What in God’s name are we doing?174
Look at what Biden has done to destroy America in a mere ten months and then think about what he promises is still on the way. What in God’s name are you doing, Joe?
UPDATE October 29, 2021: Biden continues to prove that invading illegal immigrants have more political value than Americans.
We already know that President Biden values radical ideology at the expense of the American people, but his administration’s proposal to hand massive apology payments to illegals who were inconvenienced after breaking laws that were enforced by Donald Trump is outrageous even for him.
Forty-three Republican lawmakers sent a letter to Biden administration henchmen Alejandro Mayorkas, Xavier Becerra, and Merrick Garland pointing out two shocking facts:
Compare this hefty compensation sum [$450,000] to the 2019 average median American household annual income of $68,703. Furthermore, compare it to the maximum payout from a SGLI life insurance policy for military members, which is $400,000. The idea that we would give illegal foreigners who broke the law a check that exceeds the amount that our government supplies to our valiant and heroic Gold Star Families is shameful, reprehensible, and morally indignant.” 175
Are you in the least bit surprised? Consider:
Biden abandoned so many Americans in Afghanistan that we can’t even assign a reliable figure to the number left behind.
Biden presides over a party known for governing cities with exploding homeless populations, but illegals come first and foremost while Americans sleep on the street.
Biden weeps and moans about the plight of the working and middle classes while he admits an untold number of illegals and migrants to compete with them for jobs.
Our president presides over a Justice Department that labels concerned parents a terror threat while his lackeys move to give illegal immigrant invaders enough money to surpass his Build Back Better plan’s $400,000 line in the sand for taxing the wealthy.
Biden knows Democrats will keep voting for Democrats know matter what he does, so he is content to turn his back on Americans just like he does the press and turn his attention to luring illegals to America so his party can turn them into voters. He will blame the payouts on racist, xenophobic Trump-era polices, appeal to America’s values as a nation of immigrants, and ignore his complicity in our rapidly growing illegal immigrant crisis.
One question. Do Democrats have an explanation for activists who demand reparations for black Americans why illegals come first, or is this the foot in the door to get that process started, too?
