UPDATE September 20, 2022:
A great nation needs a great president who will disclose whether he is influenced by dark money from foreign governments.
During remarks pushing for Democrats’ DISCLOSE Act, Joe Biden warned of foreign influence in our elections:
Even foreign entities that aren’t allowed to contribute to political campaigns use dark money loopholes to try to influence our elections.536
The bill clamps down on the influence of that “dark money” in political campaigns, especially foreign influence peddling. The potential consequences of foreign influence are why the Democrat Party-Clinton campaign hoax about President Trump allegedly colluding with Russia was so successful. Foreign control of our elections, government, and politics is scary to contemplate and too great a threat to ignore.
The dark money Biden warns about shouldn’t be confined to money flowing to Republican coffers, though the president implies that his is the party of accountability and transparency:
But here’s the key difference: Democrats in the Congress support more openness and accountability. Republicans in Congress so far don’t — so far, don’t. I hope they’ll come around.537
Does the president hold himself and his family to the same accountability standard, or does he think the massive cover-up of their business dealings will continue in perpetuity, even when Democrats are no longer in protective control of the House and Senate?
Does the buck stop in Beijing?
When it comes to dangerous foreign influence there is no bigger money than money from America’s greatest adversary, China.
Watchdogs warn that the Biden family’s business activities are a potential threat at the very highest level of our government. According to a press release from House Oversight Republicans issued yesterday:
Under the Biden Administration, the Treasury Department changed its policy for releasing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)—a tool provided in the Bank Secrecy Act—to Congress. According to media reports, Hunter Biden and other Biden family members have racked up at least 150 SARs related to their foreign business deals.538
Specifically, the committee warns:
We are concerned that the President may have compromised national security in his dealings with the country most adverse to U.S. interests—China.539
While Americans are struggling to pay their fuel bills, Republicans charge that Biden & Family are peddling American energy to China:
As America now struggles in an energy crisis, it is critical to understand why the Biden family was selling American energy reserves to the Chinese, if that is affecting President Biden’s decision making today, and why President Biden has never disclosed his relationship with the Chinese to the American public,” continued Ranking Member [James] Comer.540
Biden’s dealings are protected by his politicized justice bureaucracy, fawning and complicit media that covered up the Hunter laptop story in 2020, and Democrats’ one-party control of Washington. As with everything Democrats want, the president warns that we need this bill to “address a serious problem facing our democracy, in my view.”541
And then it gets ridiculous:
Ultimately, this comes down to public trust. Dark money erodes public trust. We need to protect public trust. And I’m determined to do that.542
Is he serious?
Then do it, Mr. President. It’s time to come clean and disclose. Give us just one reason to trust you.
UPDATE September 22, 2022:
This is Not Our America Part IV: North Dakota killing is Biden’s Charlottesville.
How is the White House going to spin this one? Five years after a woman was killed with a car at the August 2017 Charlottesville, Virginia “Unite the Right” rally, Democrats continue to cite the tragedy as proof positive that violent white nationalism threatens our nation. President Biden mentioned Charlottesville during his angry, threatening September 1, 2022 “Soul of the Nation” diatribe that attacked alleged extremist Republicans he calls semi-fascists and targets as enemies of the state.
Now, an incident in North Dakota may bring him his own Charlottesville. Who will Biden blame when asked if his rhetoric finally bore fruit?
Democrats simultaneously promote and turn a blind eye to politically-motivated violence waged against their enemies, which now includes practically everyone who doesn’t vote for their party.
You know the history: the violent George Floyd “peaceful protests,” the mayhem waged by Antifa and other radical left terror groups, the harassment of SCOTUS justices and near assassination of Brett Kavanaugh, the terror attacks against pro-life health clinics, the threats against Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh from Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and Maxine Waters’ (D-CA) calling for open public confrontation against Trump administration officials.
That’s the short list. The Biden administration has made “Republican” synonymous with “hate-fueled violence” and extremism. Few Democrats would argue that this kind of rhetoric is divisive and dangerous unless it comes from members of their party, in which case it is wholly defensible and necessary free speech.
Now, following persistent attacks against America’s alleged enemies, the president has his very own Charlottesville to explain.
Is North Dakota killing Biden’s Charlottesville?
Keeping that in mind, does this sound familiar?
Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.544
How about this?
Democrats, independents, mainstream Republicans: We must be stronger, more determined, and more committed to saving American democracy than MAGA Republicans are to — to destroying American democracy.545
And we can’t wait. Extreme Republican governors, extreme Republican state legislatures, and Republican extremists in the Congress overall — all of them have not only fought to take away the right — our rights — but they’re now determined to go as far as they can.546
Violent white nationalism. White supremacy. Domestic terrorism. Semi-fascism. MAGA Republicans. Hate, hate, hate and extremism, extremism, extremism. Instead of recognizing the inherent danger in targeting national enemies, the Biden administration doubled down and stepped-up attacks against good, conservative Americans whose only crime is not submitting to the president’s far left agenda.
This is wrong. This is dangerous. This isn’t our America. This is Joe Biden’s hate-riddled haven for the left. Finally, the president earned his very own Charlottesville. Just don’t expect that to change anything. With an election coming inciting the Democrat Party’s base is the strategy the White House chose.
UPDATE September 26, 2022:
Biden promotes empathy and kindness. Are Republicans included?
It’s shocking that the same Joe Biden who labeled us semi-fascists and threats to democracy thought we would take him seriously when he calls for empathy and kindness:
At the same time, we have much more work to do to realize the values that bind us as Americans and to restore the soul of our nation. In the coming year, we must not only look inward, but also look to each other. We must rebuild our communities through empathy and acts of kindness, bridging the gap between the world we see and the future we seek.547
Had the president taken his own advice and looked inward just a bit more he might have realized using the “soul of our nation” to elicit empathy was a bad idea considering he used the same phrasing in his September 1, 2022 Battle for the Soul of the Nation attack on his Republican political enemies.
It’s entirely possible that Biden’s political donors and perhaps his family’s Chinese business associates548 see some of the empathy and kindness he’s talking about. Those of us who are not Democrats see anger, hate, and growing evidence that our 46th president is well on his way to turning a great nation known for freedom and tolerance into a Democrats-only police state replete with headline-grabbing FBI raids on prominent conservatives.
He speaks of progress that his approval rating tells us most Americans don’t see:
Just as individuals can seek renewal, so too can nations. This past year has seen encouraging progress for our nation.549
Notwithstanding that surreal take on his administration’s appalling record, if anyone needs to seek renewal it’s Joe Biden who tells us:
At the same time, we have much more work to do to realize the values that bind us as Americans and to restore the soul of our nation.550
The president’s very public vendetta against Republicans is a major escalation of his effort to permanently divide the nation for the benefit of the Democrat Party and to destroy America’s soul once and for all. If anyone has work to do to “realize the values that bind us,” it’s Biden and not the good Americans he targets as our enemies.
UPDATE September 29, 2022: America is governed by We the People.
Biden warns about the threat of autocracy and doesn’t see that he’s the one who threatens us.
I’m not going to blame President Biden for his comments at yesterday’s reception for Democrat governors. I seriously doubt that he writes what he says, though this time it sounds more off the cuff than usual:
Well, folks, you know — and I mean this sincerely; you’re going to think this is a little out of whack what I’m going to talk about — but, you know, democracy is at stake. Literally, there’s a — there’s a case being made around the world, not just here, because democracy and autocracy. And there’s an awful lot of folks who believe that democracies can’t be sustained in the 21st century because there’s — problems are so — so much is changing in science and technology, the environment, a whole range of things, that it’s awful hard to reach a consensus in the short amount of time you have to reach. 551
Democracy is about consensus. Autocracy is about control. Consensus is not what the Biden administration values.
Brighter bulbs than me have speculated from Day One who is in control at the White House. An answer to that question would go a long way to explaining whatever radical ideology hides behind what the president says and does. Biden has talked about the fight between democracy and autocracy on numerous occasions:
Both at home and abroad, we’re engaged anew in a struggle between democracy and autocracy, between the aspirations of the many and the greed of the few, between the people’s right of self-determination and self- — the self-seeking autocrat.552
He seems completely unaware that the more egregious actions he is credited with don’t lean towards democracy. They are the deeds of an autocrat.
This is America. Our nation doesn’t support autocratic overreaches like the raid on pro-life activist Mark Houck. As 22 members of Congress observed in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland:
Surely, the FBI must have an extraordinary reason for showing up at the home of an American family, allegedly with roughly 25 heavily armed federal agents, and arresting a father in front of his seven children. At the moment, it appears to be an extraordinary overreach for political ends.553
America’s government doesn’t raid the homes of former presidents who are targeted by the opposition long after they left office or engage in showy, media-ready perp walks of those deemed political threats. Autocrats do these things and by all appearances that autocrat is Joe Biden.
Despite the president priding himself on promoting democracy, Rep. Chip Roy put into words what those of us on the right have every reason to fear, especially after we were fingered by the administration as semi-fascists and a threat to the American people:
Attorney General Merrick Garland oversees an increasingly politicized FBI that seems hell-bent on making examples of average American citizens who don’t align politically with the administration.554
So the question remains: who is in charge? Is it Merrick Garland? Is Biden authorizing these frightening overreaches to terrorize his opposition and suppress free speech and dissent, or is he taking the blame for whoever is calling the shots?
Either way, what’s happening is diametrically opposed to our values as Americans and the government established by our Founders and the Constitution. This is autocracy. It must stop while we can still turn back.
UPDATE October 1, 2022:
Did Biden just admit to a Great Replacement Plan?
We will never know how many more illegals now live in the U.S. because President Biden won’t defend our border. Estimates for the influx are staggering. According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform, as many as 4.9 million have trespassed into the U.S.555 Republicans on the Homeland Security Committee estimate 3.4 million encounters with migrants since Biden took over, 900,00 gotaways, 23,264 known criminals, 627 gang members, and 66 individuals on the terror watch list.556
Let’s be conservative and multiply these numbers by two if Republicans don’t take over after the midterms and put a stop to what Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas have done. As the millions continue to add up this will fundamentally change communities across the country.
We can’t believe anything that comes from the fantasyland of Biden administration communications that assured us inflation was zero percent in July, gas prices are Putin’s fault, and the pandemic is over. Last but hardly least, conservatives who support Trump are the worst threat America faces, so illegals are off the hook. American citizens are a greater danger.
When it comes to mass illegal immigration, progressives have a convenient exit from the discussion: anyone who opposes what the president is doing is xenophobic and racist. This is the kind of deranged liberal thinking that went into the New Way Forward Act. 45 Democrats cosponsored the bill soon after Biden took over. They assailed America for “our nation’s racist history” and the “prison to deportation system” which, last time I checked, is supposed to be how our laws work. Nevertheless,
It’s time we reimagine an immigration system guided by justice and compassion, restore the fundamental principles of due process to keep families together, and dismantle the prison to deportation pipeline. It’s time we chart a New Way Forward so that all immigrants are treated with the full dignity and respect we all deserve. 557
So the answer is to put up and shut up. Anyone who wants a piece of America is not only deserving, they are entitled.
Biden admits his replacement agenda is a numbers game.
There is nothing compassionate about migrants dying because Democrats and our president lured them here, but compassion is not what White House immigration policy is about. This is a numbers game, pure and simple.
Democrats eagerly search for any opportunity to link white supremacy and outright Nazism to conservatives and Republican politicians, in particular. Before the Buffalo, New York mass shooting tragedy many Americans were unfamiliar with replacement theory. It didn’t take long for Democrats to latch on, make the connection, and blame conservatives for suggesting that a great replacement might have something to do with Biden’s destructive border agenda.
When asked about Republicans allegedly “amplifying” replacement theory, whatever that means, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called the concept “filth” and a “poisonous, false, hateful ideology:”
Every leader should condemn that hate and certainly not echo it. We’re going to focus on what unites us as Americans. That’s going to be what we’re focusing on.558
Biden’s open border agenda will not unite Americans. It is destructive, damaging, dangerous, and makes a mockery of our nation of laws, but that doesn’t answer the big question of why he is doing nothing to stop the flow of humanity while his officials lie that the border is secure and cook up plans like ending Title 42 to ensure it will get worse.
We got a clue during the president’s remarks at a Hispanic Heritage Month reception yesterday. Biden talked about ethnicity and numbers:
When in American history has there been a circumstance where one ethnicity has the potential to have such a profound impact on the direction of a country? Not a joke. Twenty-six percent of every single child who’s in school today speaks Spanish [is Latino]. Twenty-six percent.559
He downplayed what he’s done, but suggested that his border catastrophe is an opportunity:
We’ve had large waves of immigration before. But the thing is, you just have enormous opportunities to make this country so much better. And I really mean it. I really mean it.
And so, as my father would say, “Let’s go get ‘em.” Thank you. (Applause.)560
Did that last remark refer to taxpaying citizens who will pay for the results of our president’s border policy or lack thereof?
Biden probably assumes that if you don’t vote for Democrats you ain’t brown. Only a fool would think that destroying American sovereignty and luring millions of foreign nationals is about anything but shifting the composition of the electorate to benefit the Democrat Party. If you think this is racist, ask yourself: if illegals were all MAGA Republicans, what would Biden do?
Remember, Democrats are passing laws right now that extend to 2030 and beyond. Illegals are already permitted to vote in some local elections.561 Don’t think for a moment that the illegal immigrant vote isn’t where this is headed. In lieu of a rational explanation from the White House for denying our sovereignty, the Biden administration’s open border sure looks like a presidential Great Replacement Plan.
