UPDATE May 10, 2022:
There is no new Biden Inflation Plan, only an economy the president destroyed and two pervasive lies he hopes you still believe.
Biden is confident you are stupid and clueless so he’s still lying about what destroyed America’s economy.
In advance of the president’s speech on inflation today the Biden administration offered Americans The Biden-Harris Inflation Plan. Considering how desperate our economic situation is with everything from stock market crashes depleting 401(k)s to a shortage of baby formula that makes America seem like a Third World country, we deserve some concrete measures from the White House. Instead, we got lies and a retread of Biden talking points to justify his agenda-driven effort to destroy America’s capitalist, free market economy.
It’s still Rick Scott and Vladimir Putin’s fault.
First, the president borrowed from congressional Democrats and Nancy Pelosi, in particular. He blamed Republicans for Florida Senator Rick Scott’s tax proposal, which is little more than an idea from one lawmaker and has nothing to do with the state of the Biden economy:
Congressional Republicans, led by Senator Rick Scott, have called for a new minimum tax on the middle class – firefighters and teachers – that would mean an average of almost $1,500 less in families’ pockets each year.325
I’m pretty sure the middle and working classes make up all occupations and walks of life and not just teachers and firefighters, but Biden’s fix is about Democratic talking points. Reality is an inconvenience, at best. The president or whoever writes this drivel for him firmly believes we are stupid and clueless, so facts don’t really matter. Just assume the middle class is comprised of teachers and firefighters.
If you need more proof that reality is irrelevant to this White House, the president’s statement quickly moved to an even bigger lie: Putin’s Price Hike and the administration’s efforts to fix it by robbing the Strategic Petroleum Reserve for six months which, coincidentally, brings us right to the midterm election.
Biden used the Russian leader as an excuse to push the radical left’s Green New Deal:
Calling on Congress to pass clean energy and vehicle tax credits and investments that will reduce our dependence on reckless autocrats like Putin, save families an estimated $500 per year on their utility bills, and accelerate homegrown clean energy innovation – from producing more clean energy to bolstering our domestic supply chains that are critical for clean energy and clean transportation.326
Restoring Donald Trump’s energy policies would do the same thing faster, better, and without all the socialism but this is about enforcing a left wing pipe dream to placate the activists who helped put this enormous failure of a president in office. Again, reality is wholly irrelevant.
At least middle class teachers and firefighters who can’t find formula for their babies can take comfort knowing they can buy electric cars, achieve energy independence, and relieve the pain of the Biden Gas Price Hike:
Building Real Energy Independence: Advancing the strongest ever fuel economy standards for cars and trucks to enable drivers to go farther on every gallon, while increasing options for families to make the switch to electric cars via historic investment in charging infrastructure and collaboration with autoworkers and automakers to set America on course to ensure one of every two cars sold in 2030 burns no fossil fuels.327
By 2030 they won’t need infant formula, but that’s a problem for another day.
After he lied to us about Republicans and taxes and tried to swap a Putin Price Hike for his own, the president resorted to talking points about lowering prices for prescription drugs, food, “everyday goods,” child care, and housing. In other words, his new Inflation Plan is the Democrat Party’s midterm election agenda that will do nothing to help Americans in the here and now.
Surprise! There is no new Biden-Harris Inflation Plan.
That’s right. There is no new plan other than President Biden’s determination to make a bad situation far worse.
Instead of protesting in front of the houses of Supreme Court Justices because of a decision that hasn’t even been rendered and won’t do what Democrats are lying about, Americans should be protesting what this horrible, historic failure of a president has done to destroy our country. It’s not Putin’s fault. It’s not the fault of price gougers and evil corporations. It’s not the fault of millionaires and billionaires who don’t pay taxes. It’s not the fault of our reliance on fossil fuels or even Donald Trump.
This is all Biden’s fault and he has no intention of doing anything to fix it.
UPDATE May 11, 2022:
No, Joe, we can’t eat high speed internet.
The dreaded April CPI was released this morning and President Biden displayed a modicum of decency by admitting we have a problem:
While it is heartening to see that annual inflation moderated in April, the fact remains that inflation is unacceptably high. As I said yesterday, inflation is a challenge for families across the country and bringing it down is my top economic priority.328
The decency vanished immediately when he shifted gears away from food and gas and instead boasted a plan to make high speed internet cheaper:
Already this week, my Administration has announced new steps in partnership with the private sector to lower the price of high speed internet for tens of millions of Americans.329
The last time I checked you can’t eat high speed internet. It won’t run your car or feed your baby when formula is rationed at your local store.
The deficit is not edible, either:
And, the Congressional Budget Office reported that the federal budget deficit in the first seven months of this fiscal year fell by $1.5 trillion—putting us on track for the most deficit reduction in any year on record.330
Blaming Putin’s Price Hike is transparent even for this White House, but the president tried to get away with it again this morning:
All of this is progress, but the fight against global supply chain issues related to the pandemic and Putin’s price hike will continue every day.332
That’s before he repeated the same lie he used yesterday about a non-existent Republican plan to raise taxes without even bothering to mention its sole proponent, Senator Rick Scott (R-FL):
Congressional Republicans talk about inflation, but their only plan is to raise taxes on working families, taking even more money out of their pockets.333
You can’t eat photo ops any more than you can eat internet cables or the federal deficit, but this is the best hope the president could offer to address rising food prices:
Today, I am traveling to Illinois to speak with farmers about more we can do to lower their costs and help them produce more, lowering the price of food for Americans and around the world.334
The words “gas” and “energy” were not used a single time in his statement. Not once. Instead, the president closed with what suffering Americans know is a big, fat lie:
We’ve made enormous progress in getting our economy back on track, and these measures would help us sustain this progress and bring prices down for families.335
You can’t feed your baby lies instead of formula, but lies are all we’re going to get.
UPDATE May 12, 2022:
Biden finally admits the real problem with the economy: we’re scared of inflation.
When a Democrat president addresses the DNC anything goes, even when your administration is such an appalling disaster that your legacy will set Democrats back 50 years. It’s not real, it’s politics. Most of us understand that.
What Biden wants us to understand better is that Americans are a bunch of scaredy cats, or at least that’s what the president implied yesterday after praising himself for “what we’ve done so far.”336 The president took personal credit for creating more jobs than any president in history instead of congratulating the strength and resilience of Americans who really did the hard work of keeping people employed while struggling through a pandemic that only got worse after Biden took office despite his campaign promises.
In politics taking credit and avoiding even the appearance of guilt for the damage you do is everything. Biden admits that inflation is a big issue because Republicans blame his administration:
Thank you, but it really isn’t about me. What it’s about is that — you know, the Republicans say that, well, the things we did with the Recov- — with the legislation we passed is causing inflation.337
Speaking of guilty, are you worried about skyrocketing inflation? If you are, then the problem is your fault, too.
Inflation is a problem because you’re scared.
After blasting Donald Trump for an old remark taken out of context, Biden revealed the real problem with inflation: Americans are scared.
We can’t let this [Trump Charlottesville remarks] happen, guys. So, we have to — we have to — and it’s going to be hard. It’s going to be hard, because inflation is going to scare the living hell out of everybody.338
He’s right. Being forced to sit back knowing that every move this president makes is dictated by what will hurt America and the American people the most because it’s what the radical left demands scares us, as well it should.
The good news for Biden? If the problem is our fear and lack of understanding and not the fact that the president is well on his way to destroying the greatest economy on earth, then he doesn’t have to do anything to correct what he’s accomplished. In fact, it gives him a license to keep lying because it’s all in our heads anyway:
We’re making progress, but there’s going to be a way to go. Our inflation rate is lower than almost any other nation — industrial nation in the world. We’re in a situation where we find ourselves with supply chain problems and Putin’s gas tax in the extreme.339
So we’re all scaredy cats who should appreciate that he’s made sure America’s inflation is lower than everywhere else and by the way, it’s Putin’s fault you can’t afford to fill up your car.
Are you surprised that the president never used the word “formula” even once in his speech? When your party is busy telling Americans to kill as many babies as possible because it’s our right and according to your Treasury Secretary necessary to avoid “very damaging” consequences, you don’t need to worry about feeding the lucky children who manage to be born. Biden and the DNC would probably prefer if you didn’t.
UPDATE May 15, 2022:
Biden has no credibility on domestic terror and that’s a real tragedy for all of America.
Biden and the Democrats finally got what they’ve been waiting for. The Buffalo, NY mass shooting fits the bill for exactly the kind of domestic terror incident we’ve been warned about. Until yesterday the White House’s partisan assertions about terrorism and white supremacy were little more than the divisive, inflammatory politics we expect from this president. That just changed.
The White House’s National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism begins with essential Democrat Party partisanship. The second sentence of the document speaks of “Black church members slaughtered,” the third is about immigrants and the fourth, Latinos.340
Biden’s message has been clear and consistent from the start: domestic terrorism in America is about white extremists. During his 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Dedication of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Memorial the president stated:
the violent, deadly insurrection on the Capitol nine months ago — it was about white supremacy, in my view.341
Biden can hold whatever personal opinions he chooses, but when America’s president makes an unsubstantiated remark about a seminal event in our history that emanates from destructive, inflammatory partisanship he loses all credibility. Even if white supremacists participated in the January 6, 2021 riot it doesn’t mean that white supremacy motivated the rally. If it did, then why aren’t those arrested being charged with domestic terror given the extremity of the threat insinuated by Biden’s White House?
I’ve said it before — and all my colleagues here know it: According to the United States intelligence community, domestic terrorism from white supremacists is the most lethal terrorist threat in the homeland.342
Nothing Biden says about domestic terror can be trusted.
Sadly, nothing our president says about domestic terrorism is trustworthy thanks to his subservience to a far left justice agenda that tramples a fair and just interpretation of the rule of law. There is no better example than the joint DOJ-FBI threat to parents attending school board meetings that was traced back to White House collusion with the National School Boards Association. The message to Americans was clear: put up, shut up, or the government will come after you because you are now a terror threat.
The results of Biden’s border policies speak to another incredibly skewed, far left version of a just society governed by laws. With a flourishing human trafficking market and fentanyl spilling across the border and killing Americans every day, why does Biden stubbornly refuse to yield to the obvious and keep Americans safe?
He does it for the same reason the November 21, 2021 Waukesha Christmas Parade massacre was never called a domestic terror attack. It runs counter to the Democrat Party’s essential partisan narrative that targets white extremists to the exclusion of all other threats, in large part out of fear of the Trump MAGA agenda that focuses on building America up instead of tearing it apart.
After the Waukesha attack Biden distanced himself despite overreaching media efforts to make the killings by a black suspect more palatable to the left. The city received a visit from First Lady Jill Biden who ruminated:
After this tragedy, it’s impossible not to ask “why?” But the truth is that there is no logic to this loss. It feels especially unthinkable that it happened at a Christmas parade.343
There was plenty of logic in suspect Darrell Brooks’ history, but the crime did not align with the White House or the Democrat Party or their complicit media’s insistence that white supremacy is a prerequisite for honesty about domestic terror. Despite Brooks’ anti-white social media postings,344 the narrative was completely different from what we’re going to hear about the Buffalo shootings in the coming days, weeks, and months leading up to the midterm elections.
Two tragedies from the Buffalo terror attack.
Two tragedies befell America yesterday. The first was the horrific loss of American lives from an incident that defines a domestic terror attack, will never be understood, and can’t be atoned for.
The second tragedy is the deluge of partisan rhetoric we’re about to hear that feasts on speculation over pointless bloodshed and will be used by President Biden, Democrat Party politicians, and America’s liberal left to advance themselves and their agenda prior to the midterm elections. Make no mistake. After the SCOTUS leak this is what they’ve been waiting for. It’s tragic that our president has absolutely no credibility when it comes to addressing the issue of domestic terror because this is when confident, trustworthy leadership makes a difference. That’s something we most certainly do not have.
