UPDATE October 13, 2022:
Biden’s National Security Strategy seeks America’s downfall.
A nation dependent on its adversaries has no strength and no security. Joe Biden’s trip to Saudi Arabia to beg for oil and his pandering to Venezuela for the energy resources we have under our feet shows the world that progressive America is a superpower whose downfall is at hand, precipitated by a single election that put far left radicals in power.
In remarks yesterday, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan detailed the “Biden-Harris National Security Strategy.” A reference to Harry Truman was an unfortunate choice, given the Biden administration’s seeming resignation to the possibility of Armageddon hastened by historic American weakness.
There is nuclear Armageddon and there is national Armageddon because the controlling ideology behind our leaders demands we destroy the foundations of American greatness. The Biden administration pursued this strategy with a vengeance on Day One and never looked back.
Biden’s National Security Strategy proclaims the president will:
Invest in the foundations of our strength at home.575
The correct term for what the president has done is divest, not invest. Biden has destroyed the foundations of America’s strength. By erasing our southern border he confirms that America doesn’t even have a right to national sovereignty and yet Sullivan tells us:
The second strategic challenge we face is the sheer scale and speed of transnational challenges that do not respect borders or adhere to ideologies.576
When our president doesn’t respect our border, those transnational challenges have free reign to flood our country with lethal drugs and criminals because we are no longer a sovereign, independent nation. We are just more territory to be exploited by anyone who wants a piece. No border makes us less of an America and that is precisely what progressives want.
Instead of ensuring America’s strength globally, Biden endorses the radical left’s hatred for our country. He oversees a growing, authoritarian attack on the left’s political adversaries through a state security apparatus that answers not to America’s values, but to the Democrat Party’s demand for a weapon to wield against anyone who seeks to undo the policies that undermine our security.
Most important, Joe Biden denies America energy independence and instead goes begging for the resources that we depend on not only for strength and security, but the strength and security of our allies. Why? Because the radical, socialist activists who tell our president what to do are more important to his fading political ambitions than America’s survival.
This is the point where we have to ask, does Biden see the end of his political career and the end of America as one and the same?
Sullivan assures us:
The United States will meet its global responsibility on climate, thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act.577
We have no global responsibility on climate outside of the political priorities of the activists who control the president. Sullivan mentioned climate nine times in his remarks, as if the left’s Climate Armageddon was a greater threat than the very real threat of America’s downfall at the hands of an administration that is unwilling and unable to reconcile commonsense environmental concerns with the necessity of a viable national energy policy.
Biden’s security strategy promises:
We will always seek to defend, not dominate. To inspire, not impose.578
That, of course, is the big problem. The White House doesn’t see challenges coming. It responds from a position of historic weakness that couldn’t even predict a baby formula shortage or the absence of COVID tests at the height of the global pandemic.
Now Biden tells us we’re facing the end of existence. His administration has a plan for national security despite domestic energy policies designed to make us less secure than ever.
Energy independence, the rule of law, national sovereignty, and most important, respect for the values underpinning American greatness make our nation and allies secure. Joe Biden destroyed these things. He has hastened America’s downfall and no amount of White House gaslighting about a National Security Strategy will change that fact.
UPDATE October 14, 2022:
America’s greatest presidents had character. Biden says character counts, so where is his?
Throughout our history, Americans have elected presidents good and bad. Some, like Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan demonstrated resolve and moral character. They were not perfect men, but they rose above the pack.
President Biden is not one of those presidents, especially by the standards he sets for National Character Counts Week:
During National Character Counts Week, we reflect on the highest standards of character — integrity, courage, empathy, decency, and respect — that lift each other up, bring our communities together, and make our Nation stronger.579
This came from the same president who calls his political opponents semi-fascists on prime time television and uses Make America Great as a slur against Republicans he repeatedly labels extremists. For the sake of empathy, decency, and respect, we’ll assume someone else is responsible for Biden’s words so we don’t’ have to call him a liar.
Not only has this president made our nation historically weak and even dependent thanks to his energy policies, Biden just demonstrated his complete absence of empathy for the extraordinarily high prices Americans are suffering by telling us that the cost of living has been high for years. This is a president whose failed policies make our nation vulnerable and for the first time in sixty years finds us at the brink of nuclear destruction because progressive political demands undermined the strength that brings safety, security, and well-being to the American people.
Since coming into office, I have championed policies that reflect the values our Nation stands for at its best.580
The president has devoted his administration’s every effort to policies that oppose basic American values like national sovereignty, racial equality, independence, and the freedom of the individual. He replaced sovereignty with an open border, equality with equity, independence with energy dependence and authoritarianism.
The freedom of the individual came second to COVID mandates. Ironically, now it comes first as the White House joins Democrats to promote killing babies.
For Americans with a public voice including parents, a politicized Department of Justice and weaponized FBI make our free country more like a police state every day and gives good reason to consider whether exercising our First Amendment rights is even worth the risk while Biden is in office.
Instead of displaying the character to admit it’s time to reverse course and return to the values that made pre-Biden America great, the president blames his political opponents, Vladimir Putin, and now Saudi Arabia for his failures. Americans are not stupid. We know who is at fault, but when you have no respect for the people what you tell them makes no difference, especially when you can send the FBI to their door if their protests become too vocal.
If he has any shred of character or any trace of moral fiber left, now is the time for President Biden to show it. The country is in need of a leader with character, not a talking head who mouths inflammatory words handed him by persons unseen and unknown. America is not doing well and the American people are suffering. We can’t wait much longer for him to display what he says he values.
UPDATE October 19, 2022:
A great nation protects its people: will Biden’s new biothreat strategy exclude China?
Does the White House think we forgot that President Biden’s COVID-19 strategy included running out of tests during the December 2021 pandemic surge or that he resorted to importing some of our free test kits from the same adversary that sent us the virus? Apparently so. The White House just unveiled a “Strategy to Strengthen Health Security and Prepare for Biothreats” with a vow we have no reason to take seriously:
It is the policy of the United States to preserve our health, economic, social, and national security by protecting the Nation from biological threats and promoting pandemic preparedness and global health security.581
The Biden administration couldn’t even ensure an adequate supply of baby formula to feed our infants until the shortage became a crisis. The president regards his “Operation Fly Formula” foreign shipments as an accomplishment. They are not. They are a testament to the inability of this White House to strategize and see threats coming before they hurt the American people.
To be entirely fair, there is a vast difference between failing to strategize to prevent threats and ignoring them because they are uncomfortable or inconvenient. Revelations continue to unfold about the Biden family’s business dealings with China including Senator Chuck Grassley’s (R-IA) ongoing investigation. Democrats and the Garland DOJ will protect the president no matter what, so any biodefense plan is pointless if China is excluded and we refuse to learn from history by uncovering the truth about COVID-19.
While Kamala Harris obsesses over the root causes of illegal migration, the administration doesn’t seem in the least bit curious about the root cause of over one million dead Americans. New Jersey Rep. Jefferson Van Drew put the GOP’s cards on the table after the resignation of COVID Guru Anthony Fauci:
Dr. Fauci and the Biden administration must be investigated. There has yet to be an investigation conducted regarding the origins of the coronavirus, despite countless testimony that this virus was manufactured in a Chinese lab.583
More than two years have passed since Americans began dying. Aside from blaming Trump for our COVID deaths, taking credit for Operation Warp Speed’s vaccine, and deflecting blame for Biden’s greater death toll, we’ve heard nothing from Democrats about a serious inquiry into the who, what, and where of a virus that mutates constantly, is adept at evading our vaccines, and is never going to go away.
Earlier this month, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) reported Government Accountability Office figures showing that $28.9 million in grants were doled out by the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control, and Department of Defense to fund research in China:
China’s deception and stonewalling of the truth behind the origins of COVID-19 has led to millions of senseless deaths and trillions of dollars in economic destruction across the globe,” Stefanik said.584
Instead of investigating China’s role, Democrat Washington chose to focus on two Trump impeachment trials and a January 6 Kangaroo Court while lawmakers and Biden spent recklessly to ameliorate the economic impact of the virus without mounting a serious challenge to China.
After the first U.S. COVID case was reported on January 20, 2020 the public was exposed to so much false and misleading information that our faith in public health agencies will never recover. The White House promised that any information from Washington is trustworthy:
The federal government should be the source of truth for the public to get clear, accessible, and scientifically accurate information about COVID-19.585
This is demonstrably not true. The statement preceded Biden’s July 2021 promise that getting a vaccine would prevent COVID, his opportunistic and authoritarian vaccine mandates, false promises about safety behind masks, and America’s unprecedented, Democrat-led war on the unvaccinated.
With all this behind us, the White House now warns that “the risks of weaponization of biological agents are expanding” and promises a decisive strategy to:
Prepare for pandemics and other biological incidents586
Recover from a pandemic or biological incident587
We still haven’t recovered from COVID-19 and it certainly isn’t through with us. Nor have we held China to account or even delved into our own role in funding the R&D behind this virus. A national biothreat strategy is absolutely essential, but in the hands of this administration what’s the point? When the White House proves the president is not conflicted by holding China’s feet to the fire for what COVID-19 did to America, then it’s something worth considering. Until then, this is just another meaningless pre-midterm stunt like the newest scheme for plundering our Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
UPDATE October 19, 2022:
Shameless Joe Biden attacked our greatest in the world fossil fuel industry with a vengeance and now he wants us to believe he’ll heal our pain by further depleting our reserves.
When you have no shame you can say and do things most people of good character wouldn’t even consider. Joe Biden is one of these people. That’s why most Americans will understand that shameless Joe’s announcement that he will strengthen our energy security and bring down costs is another shameful midterm ploy that won’t erase the pain he has caused any more than it will convince Americans that he cares what we pay at the pump.
Trust me. Biden could care less.
In a fact sheet announcing his plan to “Strengthen U.S. Energy Security, Encourage Production, and Bring Down Costs” not only does the president take credit for lowering gas prices by raiding our Strategic Petroleum Reserve, he expects our gratitude for a scheme to replenish what he should never have touched:
Second, the President is announcing that the Administration intends to repurchase crude oil for the SPR when prices are at or below about $67-$72 per barrel, adding to global demand when prices are around that range.588
Biden is determined to destroy the U.S. fossil fuel industry and all the lying, excuses, gaslighting, and disinformation his propaganda staff can come up with won’t change that fact, the fact that we are acutely aware of what he has willfully done to hurt us, and that he is only making this gesture now because Democrats are terrified about what’s going to happen at the polls on November 8.
The president reveals his hand when he blames energy companies for what his policies accomplished:
Third, the President is calling on companies to pass through lower energy costs to consumers right away. The profit that energy refining companies are now capturing on every gallon of gasoline is about double what it typically is at this time of year, and the retailer margin over the refinery price is more than 40 percent above the typical level.589
The White House takes the AOC Green New Deal approach when it asserts that “outsized industry profit margins” raised our price at the pump by $.60 per gallon. That we are still a free market economy for now and not the progressive left’s socialist Shangri la aside, we have no reason to believe the president given his propensity to lie about practically everything of consequence to Americans.
Biden wants credit for “continuing to use the SPR to advance U.S. energy security.” His announced futures strategy is to repurchase oil at some later time to replenish the reserve at a lower price:
This approach is a win for taxpayers – refilling the SPR at a lower price compared to the barrels sold. 590
This is standard Democrat Party strategy that allows the president to take credit for something that hasn’t happened.
Biden’s energy policy announcement is about as shameless as it gets. It’s tantamount to beating someone bloody and then taking credit for driving them to the hospital. The president blames Putin, he blames the oil industry, and he would blame semi-fascist MAGA Republicans if he thought he could get away with it. He can’t. He hurt us because he could. On November 8, we’ll have our chance to let him know how we feel about our pain and his lies, deceptions, and ongoing effort to destroy everything great about America starting with our fossil fuel industry.
Speaking of lies and deceptions . . .
After I published this update, President Biden made a few public remarks about his new energy security initiative. He wants very badly for Americans to trust him. Democrats need the votes. Someone should tell him that when he starts like this, trust is not the response he should expect:
Earlier this year, because of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, the price of oil and gas increased dramatically, and I acted decisively at the time. And thanks in part to those actions, the price of our gas has fallen 30 percent from the summer highs.591
So things are so bad that the president is back to blaming Putin even though the Ukraine war began long after he started to dismantle our fossil fuel industry and the whole Putin’s Price Hike scam was debunked months ago. No doubt someone worked very hard to put those two sentences together. They shouldn’t have bothered. Trying to deceive people when they know you aren’t telling the truth only digs your hole deeper. At this point, Biden and the Democrats’ hole is practically a bottomless pit.
Being lied to by anyone is offensive. When America’s president lies to the nation and eschews all responsibility for his actions because neither he nor anyone in his administration have any respect for our intelligence he’s only adding insult to our injury.
The president promised to end fossil fuels. While that’s simply not possible, he did end America’s energy independence and hurt consumers because pandering to a fringe of climate extremists was more important than ensuring the security and well-being of our nation. Biden is telling the truth about acting decisively. What he’s lying about is what those decisions accomplished, when they were made, and why.
UPDATE October 21, 2022:
Is it possible Biden doesn’t know that he’s destroying America?
It’s hard to imagine that America’s president could be as determined as President Biden seems to tear down what generations have worked and even died to build. Many of us fear that Biden is destroying America and everything that makes us great. The economy and inflation, mass illegal immigration, and rampant crime are issues that we worry are out of control and at historically damaging extremes with no solutions in sight.
It’s easy to be an armchair president, which is not to be confused with an ice cream licking, only partially cognizant president, but that’s not the point. It turns out we’ve been mistaken about Biden’s policies all along. For example, unlike conservative doomsayers we just got the good news that the economy is “strong as hell.”592
That’s a relief. All this time we’ve been worrying that 8.2% inflation is a bad thing, that America is slipping into a recession, that the cost of living is too much for many families to bear, and that our dwindling retirement savings mean we will work until we drop dead greeting shoppers at our local big box store. Biden explained today that it’s actually Republicans who are the problem. In fact, he warns they will “explode the deficit,” “crash the economy next year” and immediately slash Medicare and Social Security if we give them half a chance.593
Thank heavens we found out before we cast our midterm ballots.
It seems that Americans have a lot of misperceptions about the Biden administration’s accomplishments. Some of us are even under the mistaken impression that the border is wide open and illegals can just walk into America and never leave. We’re lucky to have Karine Jean-Pierre to set us straight:
We have taken unprecedented action over the past year and a half to secure our border and rebuild a safer and orderly process system.594
I don’t know who is making all those phony videos at the border, but it’s good to know that not only did the president take action to address the problem, it’s an unprecedented action. That’s the best kind.
We need the same approach to the crime that Republicans keep insisting is out of control. When asked today whether crime is a big issue the president corrected the record:
I think it’s a real issue, and I think we have a great record on it.595
Seems like the same bad actors that deceive us about the border are making the videos we see of muggings, beatings, shootings, smash and grabs, and car jackings. Now you can feel comfortable walking around downtown Chicago at night. All is well. You are safe. Nothing more needs to be done.
Biden certainly looks confident and resolute, or as confident and resolute as he’s able while he puts our unfounded fears to rest. Still, with all the naysaying from the GOP a nagging doubt remains. Is it possible these things really are as bad as we think and maybe even worse and Biden doesn’t know? Do his keepers lock him up with enough ice cream to keep him happy and let him nap until it’s go time and then hand him his notes, feed the teleprompter, and shove him on onto the stage?
That would explain a lot. Either Joe Biden has absolutely no idea that he’s destroying America, or he’s a shameless, soulless, left-wing partisan who really does intend to wreck our country. Take your pick. At this point, does it make a difference?
