Great thing about America #45: America’s president is not a tin pot ivory tower dictator
Americans don’t elect dictators. We elect presidents who answer to the people, or at least answer the people’s questions. Biden’s obdurate refusal to communicate with those the Constitution says he answers to is perplexing. Does the president sit too high in his ivory tower to bother, or is the White House hiding something?
Obviously, these are rhetorical questions. The answers are in the affirmative. Biden displays the height of Democrat arrogance. He put on his dictator face to bully private businesses into accepting a federal vaccine mandate. When it comes to the crisis at the border the president shows similar dictatorial tendencies and a historic contempt for Americans. The White House and Democrat Party clearly have a plan to flood the country with illegals. They made the decision that the less their subjects know, the better.
RedState’s Nick Arama139 describes how Biden ducked questions from the press yesterday during his appearance with a much more approachable Boris Johnson. It’s quite the curiosity that the president is determined to antagonize a press that showed its willingness during the last election to go easy on him lest voters find out just how unfit for office he really is.
I’m writing this after listening to Jen Psaki’s Wednesday afternoon press conference. She ducked a question about Biden’s popularity. Then she danced around a very direct question about his accessibility with some nonsense about democracy and freedom of the press.*
Psaki is not our president. While many of us would prefer that Biden not be either, for now he leads the world’s preeminent superpower. That’s a scary thought when we consider we’ve elected a man who behaves like a tin pot dictator motivated by an unsavory mix of hubris and incapacity. Refusing to communicate with the American people is not what our presidents are about, but since neither is anything else Joe Biden does we should not be in the least bit surprised.
*9/23/2021: this was Psaki’s response when asked when the press could “actually ask the President questions in a formal setting:”
Again, Steve, I’m not trying to diminish your ask for a formal press conference — which certainly, I’m sure, we will have another one — but I will convey to you that as it relates to providing information to the public, elevating the importance of the freedom of press to our democracy, that I don’t know that the format, whether it is multiple shorter Q&As or a longer, formal press conference is at the top of the list of the American public’s concern. 140
UPDATE September 25, 2021: these two words are a giant lie about how Biden is destroying America
One giant lie stood out during Thursday’s White House get-together with the press. Jen Psaki ducked the truth about our open border with nonsense about an earthquake and government unrest in Haiti and smugglers taking advantage:
Certainly, we’re aware of that reality; we’ve seen that in parts — other parts of Central America as well. But, you know, that’s something that we have no doubt has contributed to a rapid influx of people who were told that they could come into the country and everything would be fine when, clearly, it’s not.141
“It’s not” is a giant lie. The administration is willfully flooding America with illegals, yet Homeland Security spreads the same blatant falsehood:
Beyond the six [Del Rio sector] steps outlined above, the Biden Administration has reiterated that our borders are not open, and people should not make the dangerous journey.142
Lying Joe Biden perpetrated this fraud on America from his first day in office when he boasted about stopping border wall construction and cancelled
Trump-era policies that infuriated Democrats because they prevented the catastrophe that’s unfolding now.
Psaki’s says “it’s not” fine, but everything is perfectly fine for illegals storming America. It’s so fine, in fact, that the president threatened the Border Patrol over unsubstantiated allegations that agents on horseback whipped migrants invading the U.S.
In case there is any misunderstanding about what’s fine:
It’s fine to announce to the world that Democrats will pass a citizenship bill because it is our “moral and economic imperative.”
It’s fine to give illegals notices to appear so they can disappear.
It’s fine to ship illegals around the country and plant them in our communities instead of immediately deporting them.
It’s fine to threaten Border Patrol agents instead of pinning medals on their chests for defending our nation.
It’s fine to give free education, free medical care, housing, resident college tuition, and other benefits that should be reserved for citizens and taxpayers to any illegal who wants them.
It’s fine to dump this mess on the incomes of U.S. taxpayers because Biden’s priority is helping Democrats add foreigners to the voter rolls.
Psaki’s “it’s not” is a big, fat lie from the big, fat, lying Biden administration that wants as many illegals within our borders as it can fit so it can destroy the very notion of American citizenship. We all know it. Even the leftist media shows us the truth every day. Instead of lying about it, the White House might as well admit that it is doing this because the American people are completely irrelevant to Dictator-in-Chief Biden’s plan has for destroying America.

Great Thing About America #46: we have a Department of Homeland Security dedicated to protecting America from threats
The Department of Homeland Security’s mission is “to secure the nation from the many threats we face.”143
The biggest threat America faces is President Biden. The next largest are the foreign invaders he allows to cross our border. Lucky for Joe he has help from DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to get the job done.
DHS’ mission is to secure the nation. That’s not what we’re getting from Mayorkas. Instead, he spreads disinformation to make us think he is protecting our borders instead of aiding and abetting the far left’s immigration agenda:
Border Patrol is coordinating with ICE and the U.S. Coast Guard to move individuals from Del Rio to other processing locations—including approximately 3,500 over the last few days and 3,000 today—in order to ensure that migrants are swiftly taken into custody, processed, and removed from the United States consistent with our laws and policies.144
“Consistent with our laws and policies” is the phrase that deceives.
Mayorkas finally tells the truth about how many foreign invaders he just let into America
On September 18, 2021 Homeland Security told the American people most migrants were being removed:
The majority of migrants continue to be expelled under CDC’s Title 42 authority. Those who cannot be expelled under Title 42 and do not have a legal basis to remain will be placed in expedited removal proceedings.145
DHS promises the people that our borders are not open.146 Mayorkas offered the same assurance two days later, on September 20, 2021:
We are very concerned that Haitians who are taking this irregular migration path are receiving false information that the border is open, or that Temporary Protected Status is available.? I want to make sure that it is known that this is not the way to come to the United States. That is false information.147
On September 26, 2021 Mayorkas admitted that 12,000 or more Haitian migrants were let into our country. Every news outlet in America spread this shocking information. What’s so shameful is not that the nation was deceived. It’s that the Biden administration was no doubt complicit in this massive deception by the very agency charged with protecting our nation from invaders.
In a press appearance with Jen Psaki just two days prior Mayorkas talked about expulsion flights. He offered some reassuring numbers:
An estimated 8,000 migrants have decided to return to Mexico voluntarily, and just over 5,000 are being processed by DHS to determine whether they will be expelled or placed in immigration removal proceedings under Title 8.148
Destroying America is easy. Just use the agency we trust to protect our sovereignty.
Call this a deception disinformation, a lie, massive government fraud, or whatever you wish. Biden deceived the American people. He used the agency we fund and trust to prevent this kind of foreign invasion from happening to make American sovereignty all but meaningless.
If your goal is to destroy America, I can’t think of a better way to go about it.

Great Thing About America #47: America’s president doesn’t rely on turning neighbor against neighbor
How many enemies does President Biden need to pass his destructive, anti-American agenda? He accuses unvaccinated Americans of creating a lethal epidemic. Those of us who don’t agree with Biden’s far-left politics are accused of being more dangerous than the terrorists he empowered in Afghanistan. Yesterday, during a meeting with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer Biden reminded us about another group of enemies deserving of punishment:
Both bills [infrastructure and reconciliation legislation] are must-pass priorities and are strongly supported by large majorities of the American people, who know that for far too long the wealthiest taxpayers and large companies have been able to write one set of rules for themselves while everyone else is left more and more behind.149
That was in service to the reconciliation bill rumored to be 2,500 pages long, which means “large majorities of the American people” have no idea what the president claims they are supporting. That’s how the White House wants it. Biden, Schumer, and Pelosi know that large majorities of Americans won’t support a socialist economic system or all the perks, giveaways, earmarks, favors, and other ruinously abusive spending items tucked into this threatening juggernaut.
This is why Biden and the Democrats need enemies to muster public support for their ruinous policy agenda. Good policy that promotes a sound, pro-American agenda doesn’t need to turn neighbor against neighbor. 2,500 pages of bad legislation does and so does the rest of a White House policy agenda that increasingly resorts to stirring up anger and resentment instead of bringing us together as one American people with the common goal of making America greater than ever.

Great Thing About America #48: America’s president is honest and forthright. He doesn’t take advantage of what we don’t know so he can destroy us.
Let’s get one thing straight. If the reconciliation bill was overwhelmingly popular it wouldn’t be a reconciliation bill and Democrats wouldn’t be feuding over what they can get away with.
Last week the president failed to sell his own party on whatever is in this plan to reinvent America. We weren’t privy to his negotiations, but we do know what he said on Saturday when he treated us like gullible fools:
There’s an awful lot that’s in both of these bills that everybody thinks they know, but they don’t know what’s in them.150
That’s not very reassuring from a president with a history of not being honest. If we don’t know what’s in the bills then Democrats should tell us line by line before they commit us to a price tag that will inevitably be much higher than the $3.5 trillion trotted out to a public they clearly regard as irrelevant.
If you’re going to destroy America, at least tell us how
Biden can’t tell us what’s in the bill because it’s too long and he won’t tell us because he doesn’t want us to know. Instead, he pats Americans on the head and assures us that we want something we don’t know anything about:
I — when you — when you go out and you test each of the individual elements in the bill, everyone is for them — not everyone; over 70 percent of the American people are for them.151
So we went from 100% popular support to 70% support for “individual elements” in less than a sentence. As our president veered further off the rails he gave us another reason to approve of his agenda:
There’s nothing in any of these pieces of legislation that’s radical, that is unreasonable, that is — when you look at it individually.152
Really? Biden’s definition of radical is very different from yours and mine, but we can’t make that judgment because by his own admission we don’t know what these pieces of legislation are.
The refusal of the president and his party to be line item candid about their plans is dishonest in the extreme. Why would anyone trust a president who tells us our border is not open while his administration greets tens of thousands of illegals with open arms?
Biden offered a shred of hope that he might let us know what he’s up to:
I believe I can get this done. I believe, when the American people are aware what’s in it, we can get it done.153
We’re waiting for that legislative fact sheet, Joe. At least we can agree that we don’t know what’s in a legislative agenda that, inexplicably, the vast majority of us blindly support.
UPDATE October 5, 2021:
Great Thing About America #49: our president doesn’t undermine America’s greatness so he can sell our decline.
Michigan was the perfect venue for the president to push his plan for massive social and infrastructure spending. He seemed very much at home in the state that gave us bankrupt Detroit, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, and authoritarian Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
Authoritarianism is not the only thing Biden and Whitmer have in common. Neither showed anything but disdain for Donald Trump and yet Trump proved that America’s greatness can be even greater with responsible leadership. Biden, on the other hand, tells us that America is decaying and will get worse if we don’t do what he wants:
But first I want to set one thing straight: These bills are not about left versus right or moderate versus progressive or anything that pits Americans against one another. These bills are about competitiveness versus complacency. They’re about opportunity versus decay. They’re about leading the world or continuing to let the world pass us by, which is literally happening.154
Just like these remarks Biden’s agenda is based on lies. Should we trust the man who undermined America’s energy independence? How about a president who floods the country with illegal foreign nationals with minimal or no education so they can be dependent on the government and compete with citizens for jobs? Does inspiring fear in parents that they will be investigated if they question their school boards inspire confidence? Can we have rely on a president who made a fool of America over Afghanistan and is incapable of seeing himself in the criticism he levies against his fellow dictators?
They think democracies — not — not a joke — in my meetings with Putin, in my meetings with Xi Jinping and other leaders, they truly believe that we can’t compete in the 21st century because things are moving so fast — democracies take so much time that they are so divided that they can’t get together in time to act.155
“So divided” is what we’re seeing from Biden’s own party, though with Trump gone the new goal is not making America greater. The goal is finding how much unsustainable debt Democrats can dump on taxpayers with the lie that trillions in spending cost zero dollars and no one except the hated rich will see anything go up in price.
None of this matters to Joe. He has adopted a much simpler position: do what I say or America is done for.
To support these investments is to create a rising America, America that’s moving. And to oppose these investments is to be complicit in America’s decline.156
That’s not a very inspiring message. The president didn’t qualify what he means by decline, but good policy doesn’t rely on fear and threats for passage. Threats are the province of the bad ideas that characterize Biden’s every move and will surely bring the decay and decline he threatens us with.

Great Thing About America #50: America’s president is a capitalist
“I’m a capitalist”157 lied Joe Biden. The president was speaking from a union shop in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Biden used the opportunity to rhapsodize about unions. Per protocol he recited “Unions built the middle class.” Union membership in the U.S. has plummeted and the middle class is still with us, but Democrats still repeat this line every chance they get.
The president claims:
I think people should be able to go out and make a lot of money.”158
You wouldn’t know it from the way Biden and his party continue the Democrat tradition of accusing the wealthy of not paying the taxes they are responsible for, “responsible” being dictated by whatever excessive amounts the party wants to spend. For now we’ll assume he likes the idea of making money so his party can tax it away.
If Biden’s decidedly anti-capitalist, anti-wealth, anti-corporate spending agenda gets passed, his union supporters will get another chance. There is nothing vaguely capitalist in what the president is planning for our economy, including his FDR-inspired Civilian Climate Corps. and government-sponsored union jobs that will make it more difficult for smaller, non-union shops to compete. Davis-Bacon is still on the books. Republicans haven’t said a word.
What really frames Biden’s claim that he is a capitalist in proper perspective is his decidedly non-capitalist vaccine mandate that weaponizes OSHA to force businesses and their employees to do the government’s bidding. This feels more like a test than anything to do with public health. If he can successfully cross this line and control private industry by threatening jobs the Build Back Better architecture will be easy to set in place.
Biden lies about being a capitalist just like he lies about most everything else. We don’t need to Build Back anything. This morning the unemployment rate was 4.8%. The only reason we need to Build Back is if something is destroyed. That means capitalism has to go so Biden can inflict his brand of socialism while trying to convince us that “I’m a capitalist.”

You are absolutely right, Sherri. Biden’s domestic policy disasters were bad enough, but now we have to worry about nuclear war for the first time in how many decades? We went from strong leadership to no leadership. Biden’s threats are hollow and meaningless and our adversaries know it. God only knows what he’ll come up with in Europe this week. With any luck no one at the meeting will be able to understand what he says because whatever it is, it won’t further America’s interests.

He was also passing a phony $20.00 to an 18 year old who’s boss was going to take it out of his pay. When the kid asked Floyd to take care of it, Floyd blew him off. The store owner came out, Floyd blew him off so he called the cops. Floyd was under the influence and nodding off in the car too. Chauvin et al. blew it and Floyd’s passengers should have been more honest about him just eating Fentanyl pills.
What is the endgame? This was all done on purpose. Nuclear annihilation? Does the Left want to decimate the planet and start from scratch? Are humans bad for the planet? Or just break America, reduce it to a large Cuba or some imagined utopia? Is it some kind of retribution for the “evils” of Christianity and Western Civilization? That’s a perplexing question, Stephen. If the left is sincere about climate change a nuclear war isn’t going to solve their problem, but it seems that’s the direction the administration has chosen even if Biden doesn’t realize it.
As you point out, it seems the endgame really is to break our country socially, morally, and economically. As long as Democrats stay entrenched in power – and I don’t believe the midterms are secure or a slam dunk by any means – the damage won’t impact them. They will get richer and more powerful while the American people’s lives are decimated. After a time the people will thank the government for anything it permits, anything it offers, anything it lets us keep for ourselves. If history has a precedent, it’s every country that decided a socialist economy and authoritarian government was a good idea.

Anyway if you really think about the special accommodations and the amount of money these politicians spent to make it so- all to cover their asses, create a distraction, try and manipulate the citizens by dishonest chop shopping of evidence, not allowing defendant testimonies, presenting evidence that would be thrown out for incalculable numbers of reasons, presenting this as a legitimate court trial to ignorant and inexperienced people, using rumor as evidence, cutting out testimony by witnesses, and other things; all to insure Trump can’t come back… when he is back, hopefully be just as effective and incensing people to be self reliant and have options and something to be proud of. This is not just hatred and fear of making their party and constituents suffer (lord knows conservatives are too kind and willing to make modifications to insure dual benefits) .. This is because they want us failing and poor and chained down from this planned demolition of everything innately American.
If they have to do all of this, the equivalent of an information narrative atom bomb on us, then you know to what degree and depth of their evil. It is abundantly clear and easy to see the size and scope of what it is they are all hiding. The absolute desperation and scrambling, even hiring a producer that is tied to helping cover up epsteins pedophilia problem… this should tell you everything. Desperate people will accept whatever they are offered. When people can’t afford to leave their homes to work, find empty shelves at the grocery store, and are left sweating in the summer heat because of rolling blackouts, they will accept any relief the government offers because they don’t have a choice. Nothing that is hurting us is by accident.
I agree their progressive, socialist/communist ideology is driven by their destructive tactics to deconstruct everything this country is founded on and that they are succeeding with executive orders and policies that are destroying the US (open borders, anti-law and order, killing the economy, allowing China to buy all the farm land, etc.). But in the long run, with their goal for the majority of Americans and the millions of illegal immigrants being driven in to poverty and dependent on the government as the president along with those in power create a caste system and one party state, what is their plan for funding their socialist/communist regime? How is it they can get away with so easily violating the Constitution and laws of the land?
That’s a great question, PJ. They have to be smart enough to not completely destroy the economy so there is still enough of a tax base to fund their socialist handouts. Democrats don’t seem to worry about debt or the long-range consequences of what they are doing, so this doesn’t seem to be something that concerns them yet. If you took a survey and asked them how the government is funded, I wonder what their answers would be?
I suppose if you are in power and have every federal agency under your control you can do whatever you want, especially when your opposition doesn’t have the spine for the kind of all-out partisan warfare and massive propaganda campaigns that Democrats are so good at. I’m not sure which allegations you are referring to, Gilbert, but Russian collusion was a Clinton campaign hoax and the Ukraine phone call charges didn’t pan out, either. The Hunter Biden issue is completely different. There is alleged hard evidence on a laptop in the FBI’s possession that was covered up by the media before the 2020 Election. Worse, the president’s statement that he knew nothing about his son’s business dealings have proved false. That’s the difference.

I can agree to that, Kevin and yes, politics has turned into an us vs. them argument. When Biden accused Republicans of semi-fascism he emphasized the battle lines and now, a year later we have four indictments against Trump to prevent him from running instead of letting voters make the decision at the ballot box.
I would never argue that Trump was a perfect president or the perfect conservatoire candidate, but at this point I don’t see anyone else in the field of GOP candidates who can defeat Biden and Democrats know it. If Biden wins another four years – and I don’t agree with those who say he will not run – and Democrats take back the House, we are finished.
