Biden follows in the footsteps of history’s worst dictators as he vows to protect American democracy from MAGA Republicans
This morning, the White House released a preview of remarks President Biden will make about democracy in Tempe, Arizona today. It shouldn’t shock anyone that this looks to be a retread of his autocratic Battle for the Soul of the Nation diatribe against Republicans and Donald Trump:
Now today in Phoenix, Arizona, at an institute devoted to the defense of democracy named in honor of a true patriot, I’m here to speak about another threat to our democracy that we too often ignore: the threat to our institutions, to our Constitution itself, and the very character of our nation.1016
Americans need not be reminded about last September’s prime time propaganda speech from Independence Hall that targeted a national enemy Biden calls MAGA Republicans after calling them out as semi-fascist enemies of the state the week before.
We know who the real semi-fascist is. It’s not Trump, nor is it anyone in the GOP.
Biden lies about his allegiance to America:
I have made the defense, the protection, and the preservation of American Democracy the central cause of my presidency.1017
We know better. His record speaks for itself.

Creating enemies of the state for political purposes does not preserve democracy. It justifies autocracy.
Millions of illegals, Biden’s radical activist base, Mexican cartels, China, criminals thriving in his party’s cities, and a diminishing number of congressional Democrats would most certainly agree with the president’s remarks.
Those of us who care about America’s survival do not. History’s darkest chapters warn us to be very concerned when a leader engages in hateful propaganda that demonizes an enemy of the state:
But there is something dangerous happening in America. There is an extremist movement that does not share the basic beliefs of our democracy. The MAGA Movement.1019
Biden’s political future looks bleak. The GOP impeachment inquiry begins today. Like the dictators and autocrats before him, he will justify whatever it takes to preserve his power by protecting us from this politically-manufactured crisis.
The president’s actions to date are so extreme and injurious to our great country and his divisive efforts to attack and suppress political opposition so concerning that we must frame his remarks as the menace they are:
But there is no question that today’s Republican Party is driven and intimidated by MAGA extremists. Their extreme agenda, if carried out, would fundamentally alter the institutions of American Democracy as we know it.1020
There is no mistaking what Biden is doing. He warns of the MAGA threat to America. He told Americans who the enemy is and what they might do. The next step is for his administration to defend our country from this non-existent threat. The Trump indictments got the ball rolling, but his words suggest they are just the beginning.
The president talks about history and he is correct, history is watching:
We have to stand up for America’s values embodied in our Declaration of Independence because we know MAGA extremists have already proven they won’t. We have to stand up for our Constitution and the institutions of democracy because MAGA extremists have made clear they won’t. History is watching. The world is watching. Most important, our children and grandchildren are watching.1021
Biden loathes freedom, he loathes what he calls democracy, and most important of all, his destructive, anti-American agenda shows that he loathes America and everything our country stands for. He has engaged a whole of government effort to destroy centuries of greatness with economic, immigration, and criminal justice policies that are diametrically opposed to the values he falsely claims to support.
Manipulating America’s justice system to destroy and incarcerate his political opposition is not democracy any more than rejecting the will of the people and creating a national enemy to distract from what he’s done protects American values.
We are living in a veritable Banana Republic. Biden’s Tempe address will be a stark warning to every American about what’s coming next in the name of protecting democracy as his political future dims and he struggles to hang on to power.

After I published this update, the White House posted the text of a campaign speech the president made in San Francisco yesterday. His audience heard the same enemies propaganda that he brought to Tempe:
And let there be no question: Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans are determined to destroy American democracy because they want to break down the institutional structures that allow it to happen.1022
Trump didn’t allow millions of illegals into the country while demonizing states that try to protect their polls from vote fraud, but protecting American democracy is not what Biden is about. Protecting the Biden autocracy is what Biden is about.
More disturbing was the president assigning a number to America’s enemies:
And he has some significant support among the — what I call the MAGA Republicans. It’s probably only — it makes up 25 percent of the population. But it’s real, and it’s serious.1023
If you are reading this, you are probably in that 25 percent.

Great American leaders don’t need enemies, but Biden does and he proved it again yesterday.
Yesterday, President Biden made a mercifully rare appearance before the press occasioned by the removal of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and a new administration effort to circumvent the Supreme Court on student debt relief. Completely disregarding the divisive, arguably hateful tenor of his radical administration, he made this astonishing claim:
More than anything, we need to change the poisonous atmosphere in Washington. I know we have strong disagreements, but we need to stop seeing each other as enemies. We need to talk to one another, listen to one another, work with one another. And we can do that.1024
Does he fear what McCarthy’s successor might do to save our country?
Biden credited insanely divisive House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) for bipartisanship:
I join with Minority Leader Jeffers — Je- — excuse me — Jeffries in saying to our Republican colleagues: We remain committed to working in a bipartisan fashion. We — we’re prepared to do it as well, for the good of the American people.1025
In Democratspeak, working in bipartisan fashion means agree with us or shut the hell up.
This is how Jeffries encourages cooperation:
Extreme MAGA Republicans are focused on inflicting pain and suffering on everyday Americans through draconian cuts that will hurt the health, the safety and the economic well-being of the American people.1026
He still blames Trump, because his party’s radical agenda and the damage it has done is indefensible:
Extreme MAGA Republicans, fighting each other and bending the knee to the former, twice-impeached president of the United States of America.1027
Does anyone believe Democrats and Biden wanted to avoid a shutdown? It seems lot more likely it was their greatest hope, because they have little but crisis and failure to run on next year.
Perhaps that’s why a few moments later Biden went back to attacking “extreme MAGA Republicans,” this time for rightfully wanting to eliminate “everything I’ve done.”1028
Much of Biden’s policy agenda is backed by this type of venom directed at members of the GOP that the president, like Jeffries brands with his hateful extreme MAGA label because of their overwhelming fear of Donald Trump. It strains credulity to think he is not fully in favor of the divisive political environment he depends on to advance his priorities and marginalize his opponents.
The president cannot possibly be so tone deaf, so out of touch with reality that he doesn’t understand his pivotal role in Washington’s poisonous, destructive atmosphere and America’s angry, restive mood that he encouraged while promising unity.
Is Biden so cognitively demented that he thinks policy goals like his massive illegal immigrant invasion and abolition of our fossil fuel industry will bring Americans together, or that accusing Republicans of being semi-fascist threats to our democracy for not agreeing to destroy America will encourage compromise?
The president recently accused 25% of Americans of being “extreme MAGA” threats to the survival of American democracy. If he wants to shake hands and achieve some measure of bipartisan feel goodism, turning those who resist his agenda into enemies of the state is a perplexing way to go about it. So are the deliberately divisive policy initiatives that censor and target dissent and weaponize our justice and security agencies to clear obstacles from his path instead of finding ways to “work with one another.”
Great leaders and history-making presidents mend fences. They don’t rely on enemies of the state propaganda or encouraging hate for their opponents and Americans who don’t vote for Democrat Party radicalism. Nor do great presidents rely on corrupting the justice apparatus to hamstring political threats and in Biden’s case, tilt the results of a presidential election in his favor.
If the president wants to end the poisonous atmosphere in Washington and stop creating enemies, he should do that and do it now. I can’t speak for you, but I’m not holding my breath.

John, it’s amazing that such a great nation tapped these hacks for our highest offices (let’s add Kamala “passage of time” Harris to the list). You are absolutely right, Sherri. Biden’s domestic policy disasters were bad enough, but now we have to worry about nuclear war for the first time in how many decades? We went from strong leadership to no leadership. Biden’s threats are hollow and meaningless and our adversaries know it. God only knows what he’ll come up with in Europe this week. With any luck no one at the meeting will be able to understand what he says because whatever it is, it won’t further America’s interests.

He was also passing a phony $20.00 to an 18 year old who’s boss was going to take it out of his pay. When the kid asked Floyd to take care of it, Floyd blew him off. The store owner came out, Floyd blew him off so he called the cops. Floyd was under the influence and nodding off in the car too. Chauvin et al. blew it and Floyd’s passengers should have been more honest about him just eating Fentanyl pills.
What is the endgame? This was all done on purpose. Nuclear annihilation? Does the Left want to decimate the planet and start from scratch? Are humans bad for the planet? Or just break America, reduce it to a large Cuba or some imagined utopia? Is it some kind of retribution for the “evils” of Christianity and Western Civilization? That’s a perplexing question, Stephen. If the left is sincere about climate change a nuclear war isn’t going to solve their problem, but it seems that’s the direction the administration has chosen even if Biden doesn’t realize it.
As you point out, it seems the endgame really is to break our country socially, morally, and economically. As long as Democrats stay entrenched in power – and I don’t believe the midterms are secure or a slam dunk by any means – the damage won’t impact them. They will get richer and more powerful while the American people’s lives are decimated. After a time the people will thank the government for anything it permits, anything it offers, anything it lets us keep for ourselves. If history has a precedent, it’s every country that decided a socialist economy and authoritarian government was a good idea.

Desperate people will accept whatever they are offered. When people can’t afford to leave their homes to work, find empty shelves at the grocery store, and are left sweating in the summer heat because of rolling blackouts, they will accept any relief the government offers because they don’t have a choice. Nothing that is hurting us is by accident.
I agree their progressive, socialist/communist ideology is driven by their destructive tactics to deconstruct everything this country is founded on and that they are succeeding with executive orders and policies that are destroying the US (open borders, anti-law and order, killing the economy, allowing China to buy all the farm land, etc.). But in the long run, with their goal for the majority of Americans and the millions of illegal immigrants being driven in to poverty and dependent on the government as the president along with those in power create a caste system and one party state, what is their plan for funding their socialist/communist regime? How is it they can get away with so easily violating the Constitution and laws of the land?
That’s a great question, PJ. They have to be smart enough to not completely destroy the economy so there is still enough of a tax base to fund their socialist handouts. Democrats don’t seem to worry about debt or the long-range consequences of what they are doing, so this doesn’t seem to be something that concerns them yet. If you took a survey and asked them how the government is funded, I wonder what their answers would be?

Ok initially trump pushed for an investigation into Hillary Clinton an right wing media was OK with that but when the tables were turned after trump one the general election he impeded the the investigation into allegations of his possible wrong doing. I’m not sure which allegations you are referring to, Gilbert, but Russian collusion was a Clinton campaign hoax and the Ukraine phone call charges didn’t pan out, either. The Hunter Biden issue is completely different. There is alleged hard evidence on a laptop in the FBI’s possession that was covered up by the media before the 2020 Election. Worse, the president’s statement that he knew nothing about his son’s business dealings have proved false. That’s the difference.

I can agree to that, Kevin and yes, politics has turned into an us vs. them argument. When Biden accused Republicans of semi-fascism he emphasized the battle lines and now, a year later we have four indictments against Trump to prevent him from running instead of letting voters make the decision at the ballot box.
I would never argue that Trump was a perfect president or the perfect conservatoire candidate, but at this point I don’t see anyone else in the field of GOP candidates who can defeat Biden and Democrats know it. If Biden wins another four years – and I don’t agree with those who say he will not run – and Democrats take back the House, we are finished.
