Hypocrisy update April 4, 2023:
#233: Legal gun owners will turn violent without a concealed carry permit.
By now most of us understand that White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is not the brightest bulb on the shelf, the sharpest knife in the rack, or a mental challenge to a bag of rocks. My assumption is that she represents plausible deniability for the White House because no one takes anything she says seriously. Her lies are so obvious it’s hard to imagine she’s making a good faith effort to deceive.
It’s also possible that Jean-Pierre is the smartest person in Washington. There is no question that her stage show is critical to the Biden administration’s refusal to offer the slightest nod to transparency. After this nightmare presidency is over and the ex-press secretary secures a comfortable gig with the lefty media, perhaps we will learn the truth.
For the time being, all we can do is roll our eyes in amazement and hope that one day this will all go away. Yesterday, Jean-Pierre outdid herself attacking Florida’s new, no permit concealed carry law:
It is shameful that so soon after another tragic school shooting, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law a permitless concealed carry bill behind closed doors, which eliminates the need to get a license to carry a concealed weapon.646
While I have no personal experience, my guess is that it’s not easy to conceal what the White House called a weapon of war while propagandizing the Covenant School shooting and using the deaths of innocents to promote its transgender political agenda.
Politicizing the Nashville shooting tragedy to attack a governor Democrats fear almost as much as they fear Trump is a reprehensible long shot even for Biden’s press secretary. The Biden administration seems a lot more concerned with the rifles owned by responsible gun owners it seems to assume are also Republican voters than the easy to conceal handguns carried by criminals who are thriving thanks to the Democrat Party’s social justice agenda. This is a big problem for law-abiding Americans, especially those unfortunate to live in Democrats’ dangerous big cities.
Unless you are a violent criminal with the same IQ as Jean-Pierre, it’s extremely unlikely you will rush out to get a permit for your black market illegal handgun. Conversely, not having a permit will not turn a good, law-abiding American citizen into a dangerous felon even if they are a Republican voter and possible Trump supporter.
The press secretary calls Florida’s new bill “the opposite of commonsense gun safety.”647 As with too much of the nonsense that spills from her mouth, her argument against the law is the opposite of common sense. That same lack of common sense is endemic in social justice, defund the police Democrats who are obsessed with taking away the rights of responsible, law-abiding gun owners who understand that protecting themselves is the only sensible solution to the mayhem unleashed on America by Biden and his party.
UPDATE April 9, 2023:
#234: Biden administration’s atrocious public health hypocrisy: government can force Americans to take a vaccine, but politics must not interfere with abortions.
Americans were demonized by Biden administration hate speech because of their opposition to our government forcing them to take the COVID-19 vaccine. They lost their jobs. They were ordered to stay in their homes. They were blamed for killing grandma and grandpa, creating a pandemic of the unvaccinated, and were targets of divisive, purposely inflammatory public health propaganda:
The unvaccinated overcrowd our hospitals, are overrunning the emergency rooms and intensive care units, leaving no room for someone with a heart attack, or pancreitis [pancreatitis], or cancer.648
Now we know that the president and his public health apparatus lied and misrepresented the effectiveness of masks and the COVID vaccines. We were promised if we got the shot we couldn’t get COVID and wouldn’t spread it to our vulnerable loved ones. This was not true, so it was necessary to censor those challenging Biden’s public health narrative out of existence.
Now, with the pandemic possibly over depending on the day of the week Biden is speaking and his level of mental clarity, questions swirl over what we were told and why. Negative health outcomes like myocarditis from the vaccine are in the spotlight while the FDA pushes boosters for children as young as six months649 despite data that shows the 0-19 age group has a 0.0003% chance of dying from this virus.650
Efforts to work with the FDA to secure adverse event information were frustrated. As House GOP members observed in a letter to FDA Commissioner Robert Califf:
In January 2022, a federal judge ordered the FDA to release at least 55,000 pages of material every month. However, the FDA is still refusing to release their analyses of VAERS data following a FOIA request for the records.651
That data includes adverse health reactions to the shot include thrombosis, myocarditis, Guillain-Barre syndrome and over 30,700 observational reports of deaths among vaccine recipients.652
Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) detailed the lengths to which the White House and congressional Democrats went to in their efforts to create a favorable public health narrative:
The Biden Administration allowed a radical teachers union to rewrite scientific guidance so they could make it easier to shut down schools. They issued confusing guidance at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, bypassed the FDA’s vaccine approval process for boosters, and failed to conduct a robust investigation into the origin of COVID.653
With the lies, propaganda, and misinformation generated by the Biden administration and excused as sound pandemic public health policy still with us, Democrats have a new public health threat to contend with. Paradoxically, this is about killing children instead of saving them.
Democrats are losing what little sanity they have left over last week’s Texas court decision on the abortion drug Mifepristone. Despite forcing the COVID vaccine on Americans with a bevy of lies and propaganda, the Biden administration did a complete, shockingly hypocritical about face on politicizing public health. In fact, Kamala Harris argued on Saturday that the courts should not enter into public health policy after years of Democrats relying on the politics of Roe v. Wade for their federal abortion mandate:
I’ll also say about this case, as a general matter, that it is — it is contrary to what makes for good public health policy to allow courts and politicians to tell the FDA what it should do.654
Pleas throughout the pandemic for the Biden administration to suspend its authoritarian vaccine mandates and for Democrat-run states and localities to do the same were condemned. When it comes to abortion, Harris believes that public health decisions should be between a patient and their doctor:
Each person in our nation should have the right to access safe and effective medication which has been approved by the FDA. In the face of attacks on a woman’s right to access an abortion, our Administration will continue to fight to protect reproductive freedom and the ability of all Americans to make health care decisions with their doctors free from political interference.655
Government hypocrisy doesn’t get much worse than this. The good news is that knowledgeable Americans learned long ago not to trust or believe anything that comes from the Biden administration whether it concerns foreign policy, immigration, the economy, or public health. The bad news is that if we are faced with another pandemic and need to rely on good public health information, we will know without a doubt that we won’t get it from this White House. That’s a scary thought.
Hypocrisy update April 13, 2023:
#235: Democrats will protect our homeland.
After North Korea’s newest ICBM test today, National Security Council Spokesperson Adrienne Watson issued a short, terse statement affirming America’s resolve to confront Kim Jong-un’s aggression. She concluded:
The United States will take all necessary measures to ensure the security of the American homeland and Republic of Korea and Japanese allies.656
While North Korea’s bellicosity quieted down during the Trump presidency and we made some historic headway communicating with Pyongyang, a weak Democrat Party administration and president have encouraged Kim to resume his threats full throttle. This is the same party and impotent foreign policy stance that proposed a pre-2020 election “No Unconstitutional War With North Korea Act of 2020” to follow up on its 2016 Hillary Clinton election lie that Trump was dangerously unstable and should not have access to our nuclear codes. Bill sponsor Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) laid out Democrats’ dangerous position on North Korea:
“President Trump must not be tempted to return to the charged rhetoric of ‘fire and fury,’ which would only move us away from our security interests of denuclearization and ending conflict on the peninsula. Unauthorized, reckless military action in North Korea would put the lives of tens of thousands of U.S. armed service members and millions of our South Korean allies at great risk. I am proud to once again partner with Representative Khanna to avert a catastrophic war.”657
That “fire and fury” doubt reviled by Democrats and Trump’s powerful, America first foreign policy instilled respect and fear in our adversaries and made the world a much safer place.
Now, with Democrats back in control of the White House the world is a tinderbox. America’s president warns of nuclear Armageddon while waging an undeclared proxy war against Russia that stands a good chance of starting the missiles flying. Biden showed the world that a Chinese spy balloon can traverse our country collecting information and we will do nothing to stop it, just like we proved to the world that Russia can shoot down one of our drones with no fear of reprisal.
The Taliban made us look like subservient fools in Afghanistan. America’s president went begging to Saudi Arabia for oil resources we already have and was sent packing. China is stepping in to fill the vacuum created by our weakness. Even the global strength of U.S. currency is now in question. We will do absolutely nothing to stand in Xi’s way.
China, Russia, North Korea, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Mexico, France, and every other nation on earth sees astounding weakness from America and the Biden administration’s refusal to take even the simplest measures to protect our homeland by immediately shooting down a spy balloon or securing the southern border or ensuring our energy security.
If I was Kim Jong-un, I’d be laughing all the way to my next missile test.
Hypocrisy update April 18, 2023:
#236: Harris admits that President Biden is attacking America.
Is Kamala Harris skipping morning briefings, or does the Biden-Harris team care so little about how what they say and do impacts Americans that they don’t even bother to compare notes anymore?
In Los Angeles on Sunday, Harris defended the rights of women in remarks about Democrat Party “reproductive rights.” In the real, sane world this means abortion and is the antithesis of reproduction:
So, when they dare attack the rights of women, understand, for all of you who are watching who walk around wearing those lapel pins, requiring that people look at you with some level of respect: When you attack the rights of women in America, you are attacking America. (Applause.)658
Stumping for women’s rights is a tough job when you represent a party that has problems even articulating what a woman is, but still has to pander to 51% of Americans whose votes they covet without offending the infinitesimal minority of men like the new Budweiser Light mascot who pretend they are female.
While Harris defends women’s rights and warns that America is under attack by those who object, our president announced that he will veto Republican legislation to keep men from competing in women’s athletic competitions. This sounds like blatant hypocrisy from a team that finds it necessary to put a hyphen between their names to demonstrate their united front, but to be fair the Biden-Harris White House is so immersed in the nuts and bolts horrors of cataloging and politicizing their various identity politics favorites that it’s probably very difficult to keep track of the big picture. Joe’s cognitive faculties and Kamala’s inability to explain the simplest of concepts to the simplest of liberal minds doesn’t help.
Still, if you’re going to get on your stump and argue for women’s rights it seems counterproductive to have your boss not only refuse to protect women’s athletics, but insult women who compete at the college and adult level by removing them from the discussion and instead justifying a veto because it protects transgender elementary schoolers and prevents discrimination against children.659
The good news for Biden and Harris is that anyone who believes that the absurdity of their gender politics has any legitimacy outside of the left-wing identity politics bubble won’t notice the hypocrisy in defending and attacking women all at the same time. The rest of us notice, but at the moment we’re too distracted watching what happens when an American brewing icon makes a similar mistake by very badly misjudging how fed up Americans are at having the Democrat Party’s transgender political myth rammed down our throats.

Boy, Civil Candor you sure called it the way it is. All screwed up! It is hard to see how supposedly intelligent men and women can destroy a country without even trying. All the President and Congress has to do is disagree with each other, pass some stupid legislation and then tell the taxpayers that it is all for their own good and that of the country. Talk about the rise and fall of a country, the US under this administration, will beat all previous records in getting the job done quickly..
Civil Candor says
Supposedly intelligent …
