Government hypocrisy example #262: Democrats guarantee citizenship for illegal immigrant babies and the right for Americans to kill our own
Unless you live in Chicago, you can’t vote if you are dead. Most Americans accept this. When we pass from this earth, we give up the right to cast a ballot.
This raises a perplexing question. How do Democrats justify fighting tooth and nail to defend birthright citizenship for illegals while they make the right to kill American babies a central 2024 election issue? Are they too blinded by anger over Dobbs to realize they are promoting killing off the next generation of voters, or are they banking on support from illegals they will turn into citizens instead?
Birthright citizenship’s contentious abuse of the 14th Amendment has been disputed for many years and remains in full force and effect during the Biden administration’s illegal immigrant invasion. This is another one of those valuable congressional attention-getters like term limits, insider trading and earmark bans. It’s good for a press release, but even Republican congressional majorities have never stepped up to the plate to end it once and for all.
Illegal babies get citizenship. American babies get death?
Open borders and abortion mills are central to feeble Joe Biden’s reelection campaign. The treasonous government hypocrisy of policies that offer citizenship for illegal immigrant births and abortion and partial birth infanticide for American babies is lapped up and swallowed down by a political left that will tell you there is no hypocrisy in this atrocious conflict of values.
During the Obama presidency, U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) called a Republican subcommittee hearing on birthright citizenship a “fruitless and politically motivated effort to revisit an ugly chapter in our Nation’s history.”
The question that we are asked to consider is whether birthright citizenship is the right policy for America. I think the answer is clearly yes, and that in fact no other policy would be worthy of this country.787
President Trump tried to end the practice. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Vice Ranking Member Gerry Connolly (D-VA) blasted the idea as unconstitutional:
Mr. President, your new Executive Order ending citizenship for children born in the US is patently unconstitutional. I am sending you a copy of the Constitution. Knowing your aversion to reading, I have highlighted the 14th amendment for your convenience. We abide by this sacred text in America.788
Guarantee of citizenship?
A Democrat calling the Constitution a “sacred text” is hypocritical in its own right, but hypocrisy is no stranger to radicals like Pramila Jayapal (D-WA). She warns about threats to America’s “guarantee of citizenship:”
To Senator Lindsey Graham and anyone looking to encroach on basic citizenship rights legislatively: we will fight tooth and nail against any kind of regressive action, in the streets, in Congress and beyond. Our country’s fabric is stronger because of the protections provided in the 14th Amendment. These efforts are nothing more than attempts to harm children who are just as American as any other child born in the United States of America.789
If this is true, why aren’t Democrats offering pre-paid abortions for illegals? More important, why would any illegal give up the chance to give birth to an anchor baby, especially if they don’t come from a country that values baby killing as a fundamental value and right of citizenship?
A provision in the House Asian Pacific American Caucus proposal for Comprehensive Immigration Reform rejects any effort to curtail dishing out citizenship to illegal babies:
Oppose Birthright Citizenship Proposals
Oppose any birthright citizenship proposals and other legislative efforts that would restrict rights under the 14th Amendment.790
Ironically, Caucus Chair Judy Chu (D-CA) wasn’t pleased with the Dobbs decision:
I was outraged to learn of the Supreme Court’s decision this morning concerning Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization — however, I was not shocked. Far-right Republicans have been signaling for years their intent to overturn Roe v. Wade and today’s decision is the culmination of decades of extremist anti-abortion strategy.791
Democrats also rely on the 14th Amendment to include illegals in the Census. Hilariously, they warn that our invaders fear being outed for what they are:
Meng and Hirono argue that a citizenship question will result in an undercount of immigrant communities out of fear that the information they provide will be used against them.792
Currently, Congressman Brian Babin’s (R-TX) Birthright Citizenship Act of 2023 is collecting dust in the House. 21 Republicans agreed to cosponsor the measure, which ends “birth tourism” by codifying who is eligible for citizenship at birth.
Meanwhile, Democrats are all in on killing the unborn babies of American citizens. They celebrated the now-irrelevant 51st Anniversary of Roe v. Wade with sanctimonious nods to fundamental constitutional rights they refuse to defend when they threaten party priorities, like the right to a fair trial denied to Donald Trump.
They can’t have it both ways. If Democrats want Biden’s illegal invaders to buy into abortion and partial birth infanticide, they might want to think about supporting Babin’s legislation first.

Boy, Civil Candor you sure called it the way it is. All screwed up! It is hard to see how supposedly intelligent men and women can destroy a country without even trying. All the President and Congress has to do is disagree with each other, pass some stupid legislation and then tell the taxpayers that it is all for their own good and that of the country. Talk about the rise and fall of a country, the US under this administration, will beat all previous records in getting the job done quickly..
