Government hypocrisy example #255: thanks to the Biden impeachment inquiry, Democrats discover “illegitimate” is good for more than denying election results
In many years of writing this blog I have yet to quote a Bible verse. After reading the House Democrat leadership’s stupidly sanctimonious retort to Speaker McCarthy’s impeachment inquiry announcement, I knew it was time:
In the multitude of words their wanteth not sin: but he that refrainath his lips is wise. (Proverbs 10:19)
To abuse a line from Hamlet, Democrats doth protest too much.
Democrats throw a tantrum in lieu of defending what looks to be indefensible
This time, the Democrat tantrum over a threat to the supreme power of their party and control of our government and the American people was delivered in the form of a joint statement from Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), Katherine Clark (D-MA), and Pete Aguilar (D-CA) that began with the kind of angry outrage we’ve learned to expect when anyone questions these liberal hacks:
Extreme MAGA Republicans have launched an illegitimate impeachment inquiry that is a kangaroo court, fishing expedition and conspiracy theater rolled into one.727
So we don’t misunderstand, the House January 6th Committee was a legitimate, forthright bipartisan investigation to protect our democracy. Looking into Joe Biden’s suspicious dealings is a Kangaroo Court and a conspiracy theater, whatever that means.
In lieu of a credible defense to the Oversight Committee’s allegations, the trio gave us pause to consider how much their party has hurt us:
They [Republicans] have no agenda designed to address the needs of the American people. We were sent to Washington, D.C. to improve the quality of life of everyday Americans.728
This is immaterial and off point, but it’s certainly easier than defending allegations that have spiraled beyond the control of party propaganda. To date, improving the quality of our lives means a massive invasion of illegals and deadly drugs, exploding crime, high prices, and a woke agenda condemning America for racism and demanding that we sexualize our kids and alter their genders on demand. Still, these accomplishments are probably easier to defend than what Jim Comer has turned up.
Democrat election deniers find another use for “illegitimate”
When Donald Trump was elected president, illegitimate became one of the Democrat Party’s favorite buzzwords. Leftist lawmakers insisted that he was an illegitimate president. When they lacked facts and the truth to undermine and obstruct the executive branch, they spread a hoax:
The bombshell revelation that U.S. officials have information that suggests Trump associates may have colluded with the Russians means we must pause the entire Trump agenda. We may have an illegitimate President of the United States currently occupying the White House.729
That came from Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA), who used the lie about an illegitimate Trump colluding with Russia to demand we shut down the agenda of a lawfully elected president:
Other than allowing routine governmental functions, there must be a total and complete shutdown of any agenda item being pushed by the Trump Administration. Congress cannot continue regular order and must stop voting on any Trump-backed agenda item until the FBI completes its Trump-Russia collusion investigation.730
Imagine how Democrats would respond to a Republican making the same statement about Biden.
Yesterday, Lieu joined the rhetorical hysteria occasioned by the Biden impeachment inquiry with a similar accusation:
Today, House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar and Vice Chair Ted Lieu held a press conference on House Republicans’ illegitimate impeachment effort against President Biden and their demands to shut down the government.731
Once again, illegitimate is the Democrat word for the day:
The extreme MAGA Republicans are determined to illegitimately investigate the president as part of an ideological crusade that week after week after week continues to do nothing more than try and jam their extreme right-wing ideology down the throats of the American people.732
Coming from the leaders of a party that endorses childhood genital mutilation, pornography in our schools, and encouraging kids to fraternize with men in drag, I’m not sure that an extreme, right-wing ideology is anything Americans should worry about. We should, however, worry that our president is compromised by foreign governments who hate America.
Democrat Party election deniers claimed the 2016 election was stolen and Trump was an illegitimate president. When that didn’t work, they spread a vengeful pack of lies disseminated by the Hillary Clinton campaign. Now, they repeatedly claim that there is no evidence that Biden did anything wrong and call the House investigation illegitimate, too.
There is not a shred of evidence that President Joe Biden has committed an impeachable offense. There is not a shred of evidence that President Joe Biden has committed a crime. This is an illegitimate impeachment inquiry, period. Full stop.733
Do you see a pattern? The truth is self-evident. No matter what Democrats say, the purpose of 20 Biden family shell companies and millions in foreign financial transactions.734 is not.
Like their tolerance for anti-semitism from their colleagues, Democrats hold themselves harmless from accountability. There will never be enough evidence against the president for them to admit a closer look is warranted. Ethics, accountability, sanction, and impeachment do not apply to them. Any suggestion to the contrary is greeted with anger and self-righteous sanctimony.
As long as we’re looking to the Bible for ethical guidance:
So you, too, outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. (Matthew 23:28).
I think that sums it up pretty well. So does this:
No one who practices deceit shall dwell in my house; no one who utters lies shall continue before my eyes. (Psalms 101:7)
Lawmakers who make deceit their modus operandi have no place in our government. If we ever lacked proof that members of the House Democratic leadership are power-mad, unethical hypocrites who care only about the truth when they benefit, they gave us that evidence with their juvenile, irrelevant outcry after McCarthy’s sane, measured, and fully justified announcement. It’s about time.
September 25, 2023:
Government hypocrisy example #256: Biden finds a reason to care about women and children
The Biden White House probably hopes we forgot its too late response to the 2022 infant formula shortage that forced America to rely on other countries to feed our youngest and most vulnerable. Sound familiar? We did the same thing after the president started to make good on his vow to end our fossil fuel industry and turned to countries like Saudi Arabia and Venezuela to replace the vast resources under our feet that he denies Americans the use of.
The formula shortage was a shocking oversight, though riding the heels of the 2021 COVID test shortage it typified the administration’s Johnny-come-lately strategy for dealing with problems well-paid White House bureaucrats should see coming.
If you are wondering why I don’t mention the shortage in our strategic petroleum reserve, that was no accident or oversight. Rest assured the oil will not be replaced.
The infant formula debacle resolved in time, but food prices boosted by the administration’s inflationary policies and efforts to implement AOC’s Green New Deal energy scam are still too high and rose again in August. That didn’t stop the White House from absolving itself of blame and attacking Republicans for a possible shutdown impact on food assistance for women and children:
And the reason food assistance for these families is at risk is extreme House Republicans’ continued efforts to slash funding for vital programs, including WIC, rather than work in a bipartisan manner to keep the government open and address emergency needs for the American people.735
That Biden would defend babies his administration and party advocate killing on demand and ran out of food for during a pandemic, or the women his obsessive trans agenda are determined to abolish as a separate, distinct gender only speaks to the wanton hypocritical shamelessness characteristic of this president:
With less than one week before the end of the fiscal year, extreme House Republicans are playing partisan games with peoples’ lives and marching our country toward a government shutdown that would have damaging impacts across the country—including putting vital nutrition assistance at risk for nearly 7 million women and children who rely on the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)—a program that serves nearly half of babies born in this country.736
He didn’t mention how many men, women, and babies born elsewhere and living in America illegally also strain public resources. With blue states whining and moaning about the unbearable cost of fulfilling their sanctuary policies, it’s safe to assume the costs are as extreme as the hypocrisy of declaring fiscal catastrophes for getting what they asked for.
Unfortunately, it’s possible that women and infants will also get the government shutdown Biden is probably wishing for. The president seems as eager for this to happen as the Democrat Party under the mistaken hope that this will salvage their prospects for 2024. When he talks about bipartisanship to solve this politicized, politically-manufactured crisis, his radical anti-American policies are in part responsible for the congressional divisions that will ensure this doesn’t happen.
October 1, 2023:
Government hypocrisy example #256: White House demands we commit to the people of Ukraine while Congress betrays its commitment to we, the people of America
It was a no-brainer to predict a Republican concession to their Democrat betters to avert a threatened government shutdown. Permanent Washington relishes the opportunity to play this periodic partisan game of chicken to its predetermined conclusion. Lawmakers from both sides declare a victory and blame their opponents for a near catastrophe that would have irreparably harmed Americans they repeatedly prove they don’t care about. This is about political futures, not making America better or doing right by we, the people.
The president remarked that “we should never have been in this position in the first place.”737 For once, he is right. If America had a leader and a Congress that defends our nation and represents the American people instead of ensuring its own left wing political interests, we would not be where we are now.
A handful of Republicans said no to Congress using our money against us. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) represents a state under constant attack from Biden’s illegal immigrant invasion. He stood up for Americans and voted no to the CR with very good reason:
“However, Democrats are opposed to spending cuts, or spending limits of any kind, even their own spending limit that they agreed to less than four months ago. This continuing resolution does nothing to address the acute crisis at the Texas-Mexico border, itself created by deliberate Democrat policies. I voted no.”738
So did Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX):
This fight is far from over. Tomorrow, Border Patrol will still be overwhelmed, Americans will still be dying from fentanyl in record numbers, children will still be trafficked by cartels, and Texas will still be under siege.739
It’s time for a new speaker
Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) justified his collusion with Democrats the day before he gave in:
As we continue to get conservative wins and return to regular order, we actually need a stop gap measure to allow the House to continue to finish its work to make sure our military gets paid to make sure our border agents get paid as we finish the job they were supposed to do.740
This is political jargon aimed at stupid people. It means nothing. Neither does this bit of hypocrisy:
Another reason for the stop gap is to address President Biden’s historic failure on the southern border.741
45 days from now, rest assured McCarthy and House Republicans will help Democrats pass a budget bill that does none of these things. This is a party that couldn’t even summon the votes for a Biden impeachment inquiry. Does anyone believe for a moment they will stand up to Democrats and the president over the border invasion?
McCarthy promised border security in his Commitment to America. This was his chance to stand up for we, the people and draw a line in the sand. Instead, Biden and the Democrats secured GOP approval to allow the invasion of our country to continue and Americans got this from McCarthy:
While Congress works through the appropriations process, House Republicans will continue to put Americans first.742
We need a new speaker.
White House commitment is to we, the people of Ukraine
We also need a president who is committed to America and Americans first. Instead of a commitment to we, the people to protect America from millions of foreign invaders, Biden demands we stand up and fund we, the people of Ukraine:
I fully expect the Speaker will keep his commitment to the people of Ukraine and secure passage of the support needed to help Ukraine at this critical moment.743
Many Americans consider the border crisis a critical moment. Except for Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s commendable efforts, we are doing absolutely nothing to stop it. The people of Ukraine come first.
Is it a coincidence that James Comer (R-KY) uncovered payments from Ukraine to the Biden family while Joe was Vice President?
[House Oversight] Committee Staff is Releasing Payments from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine that Occurred During Joe Biden’s Vice Presidency: The Committee has now identified over $20 million in payments from foreign sources to the Biden family and their business associates.744
Is it happenstance that son Hunter and his business associate Devon Archer were paid $1 million per year to be on the Board of Directors for a Ukraine energy company?
Then-Vice President Joe Biden visited Ukraine soon after their first payments. Payments from Burisma for both Devon Archer and Hunter Biden were wired to Rosemont Seneca Bohai. Payments were transmitted in incremental amounts to Hunter Biden’s different bank accounts.745
Is it encroaching senility that caused our president to say he knew nothing about Hunter’s business affairs despite glaring evidence that calls him a liar?
Hunter Biden received millions of dollars in payments from Yelena Baturina, Burisma, and Kenes Rakishev. Vice President Biden had dinner with them in the spring of 2014 and 2015 in Washington, D.C.746
While our country is invaded by illegal foreign nationals from around the globe, America’s president demands we fulfill a financial commitment to foreign nationals in Ukraine that may have a lot more to do with his own commitments than we know about. Regardless, we the people are not part of the bargain.
When this budget sellout is over, we should expect billions more of our hard-earned tax dollars to fund Biden’s commitment to we, the people of Ukraine. The president extends that commitment to McCarthy:
I fully expect the Speaker will keep his commitment to the people of Ukraine and secure passage of the support needed to help Ukraine at this critical moment.747
The president doesn’t mention a commitment to we, the people of America. There is no need. We will fund political goals that have nothing to do with making our lives better or protecting America from our own foreign invaders and in return can sit back and watch the destruction of our country unfold before our eyes.

Boy, Civil Candor you sure called it the way it is. All screwed up! It is hard to see how supposedly intelligent men and women can destroy a country without even trying. All the President and Congress has to do is disagree with each other, pass some stupid legislation and then tell the taxpayers that it is all for their own good and that of the country. Talk about the rise and fall of a country, the US under this administration, will beat all previous records in getting the job done quickly..
