UPDATE January 23, 2023:
Democrats lie about infanticide without really lying.
There is a point where partisan orthodoxy becomes so extreme that it departs from reality and good sense and veers into the realm of political insanity. This is what happened with our southern border. Activist Democrats and our destructive president were so obsessed with their pro-immigration narrative and cleansing Washington of everything Trump that they refused to acknowledge that America even has a border we need to protect. We’ve suffered the consequences ever since.
The abortion argument is little different and the consequences of partisan recklessness no less extreme. Conservatives empowered by the Dobbs decision promoted bans even for victims of rape and incest that depart from morality and ethics in favor of extreme, pro-life orthodoxy.
Democrats went in the other direction. While we can’t blame them for promoting the pro-choice agenda that is part of who and what they are, we can most certainly blame them for deceptively advocating another procedure that is not what they call “abortion care” or “reproductive health care” by any stretch of even the most twisted liberal imagination.
In a January 11, 2023 floor speech House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) blasted Republicans for “criminalizing abortion care:”
But you come to the floor as part of your march to criminalize abortion care, to impose a nationwide ban, to set into motion government mandated pregnancies. So that’s the distinction for today.324
His rant went on as he advocated for the “Freedom to make your own reproductive health care decisions.”325
As compared to a clear effort – that’s what this bill is about today – a march toward criminalizing abortion care. A nationwide ban, government mandated pregnancies, part of an Extreme MAGA Republican agenda.326
Curiously, Jeffries never mentioned the bill he denounced. Instead, he fell back on hyperbole and pro-choice bullet points. Why? Because H.R. 26 is not about what Democrats deceptively refer to as abortion care or reproductive health care. It’s about something entirely different.
Rep. Ann Wagner (R-MO) introduced H.R. 26, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act on January 9, 2023. Republicans passed the bill unanimously on January 11, 2023. One Democrat joined in. 210 voted against this bill that legislates what happens when a child is born alive during an abortion procedure:
“(1) DEGREE OF CARE REQUIRED; IMMEDIATE ADMISSION TO A HOSPITAL.—Any health care practitioner present at the time the child is born alive shall—
(A) exercise the same degree of professional skill, care, and diligence to preserve the life and health of the child as a reasonably diligent and conscientious health care practitioner would render to any other child born alive at the same gestational age; and
(B) following the exercise of skill, care, and diligence required under subparagraph (A), ensure that the child born alive is immediately transported and admitted to a hospital.327
This not an abortion bill. Neither is it an anti-choice bill, unless by reproductive choice you mean the right to kill an infant after birth.
By definition abortion terminates a pregnancy. Democrats have issues defining what a woman is, but the meaning of “pregnant” is pretty simple and straightforward. It ends at birth. Nonetheless, Democrats like Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH) argued in favor of what sounds like flat-out infanticide:
H.R. 26 restates current law requiring that doctors provide the same medical care for infants born during abortion procedures as they would other infants. Additionally, it would supersede a healthcare provider’s medical expertise, requiring providers to transport infants to a hospital, even in cases that would not be in the best interest of the infant’s health or the parents’ wishes.328
Her conclusion rationalizes infanticide for the sake of protecting access to abortions:
This legislation permits imposition of criminal penalties, including up to five years imprisonment, and acts as a precursor to criminalizing abortion nationwide and eliminating a woman’s right to choose her reproductive healthcare.329
In a press release Texas Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher calls H.R. 26 “dangerous” and a threat, but like Jeffries doesn’t say what the bill is about:
I continue to be disappointed by the disingenuous and dangerous legislation that the new Republican majority has chosen to begin this Congress, especially today’s thinly veiled efforts to criminalize access to reproductive healthcare,” said Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher. “As I told my colleagues today, these bills are an assault on the health, rights, equality, and dignity of American women and the people who provide their reproductive health care, and for these reasons, I voted no on both.”330
Rep. Deborah Ross (D-NC) justified her rejection by arriving at an absurd and utterly irrelevant conclusion:
She [Ross] voted against the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which puts new criminal penalties and reporting requirements on health care providers who fail to provide specific standards of care to a child born alive after an attempted abortion, an exceedingly rare incident. Infanticide in any form is already illegal, and doctors are already required to provide appropriate medical care. This bill’s purpose is to intimidate doctors seeking to help women exercise their right to choose.331
Reproductive health care, right to choose, freedom of choice, and whatever buzzwords Democrats recite to sanitize abortion have absolutely nothing to do with H.R. 26. The window for their right to choose expires at the moment of birth.
Ross is correct about one thing. Infanticide is illegal. So was lynching before Democrats demanded that Congress pass their anti-lynching bill and yet they refuse to extend any protection to an infant born alive despite medical efforts to kill it. This is disgusting, amoral, and wrong.
The Democrat Party’s refusal to agree to H.R. 26 is another example of partisanship pushed beyond the limits of sanity, morality, and simple good sense. Republicans who support no exceptions abortion legislation share some of the blame for pushing the discussion too far in the other direction, but they at least deserve credit for not trying to hide what they advocate. Democrats are much less transparent. Jeffries’ won’t even say what legislation defines the “extreme MAGA Republican agenda” he warns about three times during his remarks.
Most Americans will agree that infanticide is extreme for any political agenda. Declaring it off limits should have nothing to do with your political party of choice, but that’s where our divisive politics brought us.
UPDATE January 30, 2023:
Have you no shame, Congressman? Schiff sounds the alert about election lies and conspiracy theories.
Steele Dossier proponent and Trump-Russia collusion hoaxer Adam Schiff (D-CA) was not happy about the news that Donald Trump would be allowed back on Facebook. Like Joe Biden, Schiff should avoid using words like “integrity.” They don’t reflect well on who and what he is. Nevertheless, he joined Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) to voice his displeasure over the decision:
[W]e believe that part of Meta’s commitment to election integrity should be ensuring that those who maintain the unfounded, dangerous narrative of the 2020 election are not allowed or encouraged to spread the lie in any form.332
Schiff dug his hole deeper as he argued for keeping the former president off the platform so it could not be used to “spread conspiracy theories and election lies:”
Last month, Schiff and Whitehouse urged Meta to maintain its commitment to keeping dangerous and unfounded election denial content off its platform, including upholding the suspension of former president Donald Trump’s account in light of his continued efforts to spread the Big Lie that led to deadly violence on January 6.333
Was the “deadly violence” a reference to Ashli Babbitt? Unlikely, though it’s a convenient excuse when Schiff gets called out for the same misinformation about Capitol Riot deaths that President Biden spreads:
We think about the others who lost their lives and were injured and everyone living with the trauma of that day — from those defending this Capitol to members of Congress in both parties and their staffs, to reporters, cafeteria workers, custodial workers, and their families.334
Schiff boasts his efforts to “speak out against extremism and doggedly defend our democracy.”335 He doggedly pursued the Trump-Russia collusion hoax with this statement that sounds a whole lot like election denial:
This time is different – despite the unanimous conclusion of the 17 entities that make up the U.S. Intelligence Community that the Russian government sought to sow discord in our political process and undermine the Clinton campaign, there is a seeming hesitancy to dig too deeply into possible collusion between the Trump organization and the Russians, and to ascribe too much to Moscow, lest it call into question the “legitimacy” of the outcome of the 2016 election.336
The integrity of his actions pushing the Steele Dossier and 2016 election interference scam is a matter of record:
The House Intelligence Committee has now released transcripts of witness interviews that took place during investigations into the supposed collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign during the 2016 election. The transcripts indicate that former Obama Administration officials and Committee Chairman Adam Schiff knew there was no proof of collusion. Yet, Schiff repeatedly touted this now discredited claim of a collusion.337
What did we learn?
It is now clear that Adam Schiff lied to his colleagues, that he lied to the media, and that he lied to the American public,” [Rep. Gary] Palmer said.338
Now Schiff wants us to believe that he is our election integrity gatekeeper, that Donald Trump is the threat to beware, and Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) “struck a corrupt bargain”339 to be House speaker and exact “political vengeance” against him, Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Eric Swalwell (D-CA).
Whether or not it was well-deserved vengeance, for the sake of integrity and keeping blatant misinformation out of our politics McCarthy deserves our thanks. Schiff is a classic example of a dishonest politician who holds himself above all ethical boundaries in pursuit of power while holding others to standards he has no respect or regard for. He deserves nothing but America’s scorn.
UPDATE February 9, 2023:
Black History Month celebrates Democrat lies about their favorite victims.
It’s easy to forget that Black History Month began with a Republican. President Gerald R. Ford started the tradition in February 1976 to “seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.”340
Instead of marking even more significant strides since Ford’s presidency, Black History Month has devolved into another opportunity for Democrats to weaponize race and ingratiate themselves with their favorite victims.
Senator Corey Booker (D-NJ) told on his party:
We have seen this happen far too many times throughout history – where some dismiss our important stories and intentionally change the way history is told to fit political agendas.341
Booker is correct. This is all about political agenda. Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) joined Booker to hammer the message home with their attack on Florida’s recent move to revise an AP African American History curriculum called out by conservatives as woke indoctrination:
The truth is under attack by white supremacists attempting to ban Black history at all levels of education, but we know that a democracy cannot exist without access to truth.342
Rep. Barbara Lee (D-TX) celebrated the beginning of Black History Month with a reminder to “honor enslaved people.” She warns:
We as a nation must honor enslaved people and their descendants by dismantling its institutional remnants such as racism, discrimination, economic inequity, marginalization, and systematic underdevelopment. The legacy of slavery continues to cause harm each and every day, from the pervasive violent racism of police brutality to the lack of abortion access and higher maternal mortality rates for Black women.343
There are no enslaved people in America, but as far as Democrats are concerned slavery is still with us and incredibly useful politically. Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) commemorated Black History Month 2022 by returning slavery to the spotlight:
The effects of slavery are still being felt to this day. The wealth gap between Black and white Americans persists and systemic racism continues to seep into just about every aspect of our lives. If we as a country do not acknowledge that these problems still exist and if we do not take the necessary steps to address them, we will fail not only all Americans, but also our democracy.344
Her solution?
Reparations are an important step in dismantling the systems of oppression that remain and will help level the playing field between Black and white Americans.345
Schakowsky’s Evanston, Illinois district has its own reparations plan. Evanston borders on Chicago, which is notorious for taking the lives of Black men, women, and children. It happens so frequently Democrat politicians rarely take notice unless it’s mayoral election time. Politicizing mass shootings and assault weapons has more partisan appeal for waging war against Republicans than admitting the truth about the failure of liberal policing to keep people safe.
Black History Month 2023 began one day before Squad colleagues Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Rashida Tlaib’s (D-MI) angry outbursts on the House floor after Ilhan Omar (D-MN) was removed from the Foreign Affairs Committee. It was no surprise how quickly they threw the race card in support of Omar. Weaponizing race is crucial to their party’s agenda and everything the Squad represents. Fellow member Cori Bush (D-MO) insists:
Racism is not just slavery and Jim Crow. It is the daily violence that is enacted on our communities each and every day we live in this White supremacist society.346
According to the New York Post that white supremacist society Bush condemns enables her to shell out hundreds of thousands for private security589 despite applauding a decision to defund protection for people in her district by slashing $4 million from the police budget:
Today’s decision to defund the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is historic. It marks a new future for our city.347
Democrats like Bush need victims, but they never see themselves or their policies as the problem. This holds true all the way to the top:
From the start, the Biden-Harris Administration has been committed to using the power of the Federal Government to address the long-standing disparities that have hampered the progress of Black communities.348
It’s true that the Biden administration has taken enormous steps that impact Black Americans. The president imported millions of foreign nationals to compete for jobs and federal spending he insists are mission critical for underprivileged Black Americans, which at times seem to be the only Black Americans he believes exist.
Decades after the 1980s crack cocaine epidemic we have another drug epidemic fueled by Biden’s immigration policies and inexplicable tolerance for China and Mexico flooding America with lethal fentanyl. Overdoses and crime fueled by illegal drugs hit depressed urban Black communities hard. Will 1980s mandatory minimum prison sentences be resurrected too, as part of the crackdown the president pushed for in his State of the Union?
On Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2023 Betty McCollum (D-MN) warned about what we are up against:
As our nation continues to battle the dark forces of white supremacy and systemic racism, we must all reflect on how each of us can help advance the work of racial and economic equality and justice for all.349
As long as Democrats can propagandize these dark forces to benefit themselves there will never be racial equality and justice because they don’t want it and will deny it exists.
Democrats want victims because victims give them power. The enormous progress made by Black Americans that we should celebrate during Black History Month cannot compete with their need for a permanent victim class that has served them well for many years and isn’t going to advance anywhere if their party has anything to say about it.
UPDATE February 14, 2023:
America’s liar-in-chief cheers today’s good economic news.
Americans didn’t get much of a valentine from the Bureau of Labor Statistics with today’s release of the January inflation numbers. That didn’t stop President Biden from celebrating the “good news for families and businesses.”350 In particular:
Inflation for food at the grocery store came down again last month.351
There is probably some vague nuance in the numbers that prevents this statement from being another bald-faced Biden lie, but the BLS clearly disagrees with the president:
The food index increased 0.5 percent in January, and the food at home index rose 0.4 percent over the month. Four of the six major grocery store food group indexes increased over the month. The index for other food at home rose 0.7 percent in January. The index for meats, poultry, fish, and eggs increased 0.7 percent over the month, as the index for eggs rose 8.5 percent. The index for cereals and bakery products rose 1.0 percent over the month, while the index for nonalcoholic beverages increased 0.4 percent in January.352
Assuming you care about things like your price at the pump and what it costs to not freeze to death in the winter cold, the report also warned:
The energy index rose 2.0 percent in January, as the gasoline index increased 2.4 percent over the month. (Before seasonal adjustment, gasoline prices rose 3.2 percent in January.) The index for natural gas rose 6.7 percent over the month, and the index for electricity increased 0.5 percent.353
No matter, says Joe. The president praised the Inflation Reduction Act for bringing down home energy costs for tens of millions of Americans. There are over 300 million people living in America, so take “tens of millions” for what it’s worth. Perhaps this is the number of people who were duped by unscrupulous solar energy contractors to trade their retirement savings for some ugly black panels on the roof.
Biden attempted to extract some self-congratulations by championing Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act, but even our liar-in-chief probably understands that we’re smart enough to know we’re getting screwed like we never were when Donald Trump was president. Fortunately, he has a solution: lie about Republicans scheming to wreck the economy.
They have proposed repealing the Inflation Reduction Act, which would make inflation worse, shower billions of dollars on Big Pharma, and increase the deficit. They are threatening to raise costs for seniors by threatening to cut Medicare and Social Security, and other critical programs that American seniors and families count on. And some are threatening to default on the full faith and credit of the U.S., which would raise costs and create economic chaos.354
Economic chaos? Raise costs? That something Biden vows to never do:
I will stand firmly against any effort to make inflation worse and increase costs for families. Today’s data reinforces that we have made historic progress and are on the right track, and now we need to finish the job.355
Finishing the job is what we’re afraid of. If Biden’s idea of historic progress is lying about destroying Americans’ financial security, then he is most certainly on the right track.

You’ve got it exactly backwards. Republicans are the lying bullies. Period. The end. Idiot.
Bob Prokop says
Difficult to do without a congressional majority, but with any luck after midterms next year there will be plenty of Republican bullying to make up for the lunacy we’ve suffered from the left.
Thanks for reading, even if I am an idiot.

Nope! Nice try though. The “h” in democrat stands for honesty. Democrats are allergic to facts and think with their asses! No brains at all! Go f*** yourself democrats!
Sean says
False. You’re confused because you think the news is real. The news is not real. In reality, 85% of republican reps are democrats. They’re all lying Satanists who want to destroy America. Hence the wars, destruction of the dollar, the illegal alien invasion, refusing to use our own oil and natural gas. Etc. if you want to live in reality swap out fox and cnn for info wars. Propaganda will trick you and make you sound stupid so avoid the “news”

There is no news without truth and the democratic party would self destruct if they had to tell one iota of truth as they are 100% liars, cowards, cheats and thieves!!!
Bob Prokop says
Spot on, antiobama. There is no better proof than their new Inflation Reduction Act. Democrats are so arrogant that they don’t even try to hide the fact that they lied to Americans about the purpose of this bill or what it will accomplish. As you rightly point out, when they lie it’s gospel and anyone who reveals the truth will be denounced and cancelled by Big Tech and their complicit media.

There is no news without truth and the democratic party would self destruct if they had to tell one iota of truth as they are 100% liars, cowards, cheats and thieves!!!

When Dems say the violence is part of their agenda. They are telling the truth. They plan on using as much violence to make legal Americans afraid to stand up to them
Bob Prokop says
Exactly right, Mea. All it takes is a liberal dog whistle to get the violent, peaceful protests started. As long as Democrats control Homeland Security, the Justice Department, and the FBI, left-wing domestic terrorists have nothing to worry about.
Faye Witt says
Democrats are the biggest damn liars that ever lived or at least one of the biggest liars but anyway they are big time liars who don’t the meaning of the word truth and honesty, they think we’re fools who believe their lies but not all of us are foolishly enough to believe their lies and they like to feed us a heaping load of their bullshit lies and put blame on anyone and anything that they can put blame on cause that trash isn’t going to take blame for nothing cause it’s easier to put blame on someone else or something else but their favorite person to put blame on is Trump and he’s always been their favorite person to pick on, it isn’t bad enough that they used Covid-19 to do that stupid mail in ballot thing all so they can steal the election away from Trump but then they keep right on with their bullshit cause I think they feel threatened by Trump and I think they always have felt threatened by him especially now, I think they’re scared that Trump might run again in the 2024 election and win and get back in office and they sure don’t want that and I hope Trump does run again and wins because this country needs him back as President and I don’t give a damn what the birdbrains out there think cause they’re no damn better than the trash out there, doing the damage to America cause they support them and vote for them and when they do that, that makes them no better than they are cause they support the garbage doing the damage and to me that’s like a slap in the face cause to me when you support them, it’s like you support anything and everything they do, good or bad so I say” WAKE UP, AMERICA!
Bob Prokop says
Wow! Faye, I think you covered it. I haven’t decided whether they lie because they think we’re too dumb to see through what they say, or because they don’t care what we think. Probably both. As far as Trump is concerned, I wholeheartedly agree. Democrats and sadly, many Republicans are terrified of a leader who won’t play their game of stringing us along, hurting Americans in the process, and doing absolutely nothing to make our country better. Trump got things done and Washington still hates him for showing how worthless and self-interested our elected officials are. The best way for him to end their hate is to be reelected. Afterwards he can’t run again and this will go away.
Jen says
Exactly.
Paul Tollefson says
You’re absolutely right Faye. I live in Washington State where we do mail in voting all the time I am absolutely positive that Washington State enacted disability without the vote of the people so that the Democratic party that enacted it could continually steal the elections year after year after year trying to find something Democrats need to be removed their party should be disbanded based on their willingness to sell our country to foreign interest Joe Biden has proven that but yet the mainline media doesn’t seem to be too interested in checking into it that’s because they know it’s the truth. I don’t
Michael Woods says
What good does it do to point out democrat lies. The GOP won’t do anything about it.
Bob Prokop says
I don’t disagree, Michael. They will hold hearings. They will issue a report. Nothing will come of it because they don’t have the political might and too many in the party don’t want to rock the boat that keeps lawmakers fat and happy.
Paul Tollefson says
You’re not wrong only it will take more than just a majority. Unfortunately most Republicans are so afraid that they won’t stand up to the lying oppressive Democratic regime. This is half of the problem. The other half of the problem is that none of the political individuals Republican and Democrat alike are willing to give up their ability to conduct insider trading based on knowledge that they receive from different committees. Thank you for listening I wish that my thoughts were not the truth.
Bob Prokop says
I wish you were wrong too, Paul, but your comments are spot on. The willingness of the GOP to bend to the will of the Democrat Party is infuriating, including their support of the last omnibus spending package. Democrats know better.
As far as insider trading is concerned, let’s relegate that to the same list as term limits and an earmark ban. The difference between Republicans and Democrats is a lot less than the difference between politicians from either party and the American people. Both know where their money comes from.
Thanks for reading and offering your thoughts.
Bob
