UPDATE January 7, 2022:
How many times can Kamala Harris not tell the truth in 788 words or less? This is how many.
I rarely pay attention to anything Kamala Harris says. On the occasions that she makes sense her canned, jargon-heavy messaging elicits more aggravation than it’s worth.
The vice president’s 788 word January 6 address was no exception. If you can look past her vague comparison of the Capitol riot to the thousands dead on 9/11 and the attack on Pearl Harbor, what you are left with is a litany of lies and mistruths that attest to why she is awful beyond words and a travesty as vice president.
This is what Kamala Harris wants you to know about January 6.
Let’s start here:
What the extremists who roamed these halls targeted was not only the lives of elected leaders.92
No elected leaders were harmed. None were killed. Not a single one. That’s a good thing, but given the number of people rioting if Harris is to be believed how is this possible? Could it be she’s not telling the truth about what the “extremists” were up to?
What they were assaulting were the institutions, the values, the ideals that generations of Americans have marched, picketed, and shed blood to establish and defend.93
The sacrifices of Americans who shed bled for our country were denigrated by Harris when she compared 9/11 and Pearl Harbor to January 6. She should meet with one of the families who lost a loved one in the Twin Towers or one of the few, if any remaining Pearl Harbor survivors to see how they feel about what she said.
Lawlessness, violence, and chaos.
On January 6th, we all saw what our nation would look like if the forces who seek to dismantle our democracy are successful. The lawlessness, the violence, the chaos.94
January 6 was a snapshot of a bad moment in our history, but we know for certain what widespread lawlessness really looks like thanks to 2020’s urban violence, 2021 and 2022’s big city crime waves, and the ongoing Biden-Harris border chaos.
Democrats aren’t the ones being silenced.
We cannot let our future be decided by those bent on silencing our voices, overturning our votes, and peddling lies and misinformation; by some radical faction that may be newly resurgent but whose roots run old and deep.95
By “radical faction” does Harris mean the weaponized Democrat Party? Her words describe the Biden administration’s threats against parents who don’t like what’s happening in their schools. They are reflected in Pelosi’s partisan Inquisition that threatens and intimidates conservatives who might have some tenuous connection to the events on January 6. Most important, silencing the voice of Republicans is what Democrats’ John Lewis Voting Fraud bill is all about. Since this is obvious to everyone, Harris could at least tell the truth about that.
Harris has no right to talk about the rule of law. Does she even know what it means?
You see, the strength of democracy is the rule of law.96
If this is true, then our democracy is finished. Biden, Harris, and their party destroyed it. If the VP took the time to visit the border she’d see an example of what no rule of law looks like. When she’s finished she should pay a visit to Democrat-run Chicago, too. If you’re going to talk about the rule of law you might as well see for yourself what happens when it vanishes.
One riot can overturn a presidential election.
The violent assault that took place here, the very fact of how close we came to an election overturned — that reflects the fragility of democracy.97
Really? A single riot overturns a presidential election? Either Harris is dumber than we feared, a terrible liar, or more likely both.
Loves ones lost.
Our thoughts are with all of the families who have lost a loved one.98
She tossed this one out all by itself with no explanation. Perhaps Harris knew she’d be called out but took a chance that her dwindling base might draw some false connection between mass casualties and January 6. When you’re being talked at by someone who thinks you are stupid and gullible nothing is off the table.
UPDATE January 20, 2022:
Schumer and Pelosi follow the president’s lead and lie their faces off about Biden’s spectacular successes.
It’s final. Neither Pelosi nor Schumer have a shred of credibility left. Is there a single intelligent person in America who believes anything these clownish hacks have to say?
Following President Biden’s disastrous press conference yesterday the Democratic leaders of the House and Senate shored up his falsehoods by journeying even farther into lying liberal fantasyland:
Together, President Biden and the Democratic Congress have worked relentlessly over the last year to improve countless lives across the country.99
It’s true, they worked relentlessly. That hard work is reflected in the suffering of the American people and our deteriorating status as the world’s preeminent superpower.
That big lie wasn’t enough for Pelosi and Schumer. They had to keep going:
One year into President Biden’s term, our Democratic Majorities in Congress remain hard at work alongside the Administration to execute his spectacular vision for the future by continuing to support strong communities, lowering costs for American families, tackling the climate crisis and requiring the wealthiest to pay their fair share. We remain committed to delivering on this agenda – now and for decades to come.100
Again they confuse pointless, doomed to fail effort with results as if we’re too dumb to notice that none of these things happened. Build Back Better failed. So did the most spectacular crash and burn in years, the Democrat Party’s voter fraud bill that wasted countless hours of effort paid for by taxpayers in lieu of legislation the American people really want that might stand a chance of reversing the disasters created by this terrible president and lap dogs Pelosi and Schumer.
After Biden’s historic press conference will the left wise up? Is the water rising so high that it’s finally time to scurry over the side? The Democratic leadership is famously unable to understand that smart, hard-working Americans are fed up with their lying nonsense and legislation that only benefits party elite. The results are painfully apparent. They get worse by the day.
If you still ascribe to the notion that Biden is America’s savior, it’s time to get out of the house, fill your gas tank, and pay a visit to the grocery store. Just don’t do it in a big, Democrat-managed city. You’re likely to have your car stolen.
UPDATE January 25, 2022:
There is one sad truth behind the president’s Big Lie of Democrat Party success.
One day before President Biden’s January 20, 2022 DNC Grassroots Event a baby girl was shot in the face in the Bronx. Two days after the teleconference an 8-year-old girl was shot dead in Chicago.
What’s so shocking about these crimes is that they aren’t shocking. Violence and killing are commonplace in many American communities and yet the word “crime” was not mentioned once in Biden’s remarks to the DNC. Instead, the president followed up his press conference with more delusional congratulations for his party.
Instead of needed self-reflection, Biden attacked Republicans for their infamous Big Lie and wallowed in his own lies of unprecedented success:
I mean, you know, they’re — these guys don’t have — they’re not for anything. And that’s the choice we have to prevent [present] before voters: between the plans we have to improve the lives of the American people and no plan — none at all.101
Plans to improve are not improvement. They are just talk. The distinction was probably lost on the president’s audience as he lavished praise for their accomplishments:
I hope every one of you is enormously proud of what you’ve helped accomplished [sic] here.102
It’s true that Democrats have accomplished many things, like the piles of corpses in their cities and a criminal justice system that cares most about sparing perpetrators. The refusal to address a problem their narrative helped create is reflected in an idiotic remark from stalwart Jenn Psaki during yesterday’s press conference:
Gun violence is a huge reason for the surge in crime.103
No Jenn, gun violence is a crime. Anyone not fixated on liberal hot button talking points about gun control understands this just like they understand the grim double entendre in Biden’s congratulations to his party:
You know, what you’ve done is changing people’s lives. You’re literally changing people’s lives.104
It sounds like a lie but there is unpleasant truth in these words, especially for two little girls shot while America’s president pats himself and his party on the back for a job well done.
UPDATE January 26, 2022:
Democrats are still telling lies to the American people about January 6 and they need to stop now.
President Biden’s approval rating has not dropped to 0% just yet, so we can assume there are still a handful of Americans who believe the lies churned out by the White House and governing Democrats. It’s a sad fact that the most prominent voices in the party don’t care about the impact their disinformation, falsehoods, and propaganda have on the democracy they vow to defend against everyone who isn’t one of them.
Hoyer tells a bald-faced lie about January 6
It’s fair to give House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) a pass on remarks made on January 20, 2022 applauding President Biden’s “productive” first year:
Nobody can deny that our economy is recovering steadily and strongly under this Administration.105
America is resilient. We have a strong, free market economy that is recovering despite Biden policies that created destructive inflation, ended our energy independence and raised fuel and heating costs in time for winter, and ignored the supply chain meltdown. The remark is misleading, but it’s just politics. We can live with that.
Hoyer’s next remark is a bald-faced lie:
The previous occupant of the White House promised to get these things done but could not deliver. Moreover, he threatened our allies, cozied up to America’s adversaries, and left office just days after inciting a riot to overturn our election that saw law enforcement maimed and killed on the grounds of our Capitol.106
There were no law enforcement officers killed on the grounds of the Capitol during the riot. Not one. Hoyer is lying. He knows there is a segment of his base eager to believe anything he, Pelosi, Biden, or other prominent Democrat Party hacks say whether or not they are true. Some Americans need very badly to hear what they want to believe and these kinds of utterly false statements take advantage of their desperation.
A responsible Democrat might say “law enforcement officers were injured and one officer died in the aftermath of the attack.” That’s honest and true, but the truth is not what this is about. Hoyer’s remark further underscores the necessity that Americans, regardless of their political affiliation, not believe anything coming from Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 Committee because the goal is not an honest, responsible, ethical investigation. The goal is creating another avenue for Democrats to build power so they never lose control of our government. Total disregard for the truth in hopes that their base is neither intelligent nor well-informed enough to separate fact from fiction is just another way to get this done.
UPDATE January 30, 2022:
Americans deserve the truth from Democrats about where our infrastructure money will go.
Is infrastructure about fixing roads and bridges or radical left equity and climate justice? It depends on the day and the audience.
There is no better metaphor for Joe Biden’s train wreck of a presidency than Friday’s bridge collapse in Pittsburgh. I’m almost ashamed to admit that the first thing that crossed my mind when I heard the news was whether this might be a progressive terror attack to prove how badly we need to repair our roads and bridges. Then I realized how ludicrous that thought is. Progressives don’t care about roads and bridges. They care about extracting money from taxpayers to spend on priorities like racial equity and climate justice.
The White House is on a victory tour touting everything the president has done to make America better. That means lots of lies the White House hopes we will believe despite poll numbers that show most of us swallow none of it. That disbelief should include anything we hear about infrastructure spending.
Back to Biden’s Pittsburgh speech:
I’ve talked about it every time I’ve come to Pittsburgh, and we finally got it done: a Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, including the largest investment in our nation’s bridges since the — since the — Eisenhower put together the Interstate Highway System.107
No doubt White House bean counters can back up that largest investment figure, especially when they factor in Biden inflation and the passage of half a century. What they can’t explain is the president’s different explanation just two days earlier on what over a trillion dollars of taxpayer cash will accomplish.
Remember Justice40? Biden does.
When Democrats talk about our money, words like reimagined and transformed are red flags:
In total, hundreds of federal programs, representing billions of dollars in annual investment — including programs that were funded or created in the President’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law — are being reimagined and transformed to maximize benefits to disadvantaged communities through the Justice40 Initiative.108
If you don’t remember Justice40 we need to go back to the frenzy of order writing at the beginning of Biden’s presidency:
The order creates a government-wide Justice40 Initiative with the goal of delivering 40 percent of the overall benefits of relevant federal investments to disadvantaged communities and tracks performance toward that goal through the establishment of an Environmental Justice Scorecard.109
Justice40 is a progressive scheme to spend on climate change by guilt tripping Americans over disadvantaged communities, many of which are run by Democrats. It’s all about equity, racial and climate justice. In Pittsburgh Biden never once mentioned equity or Justice40, which is curious considering infrastructure spending was all about equity just two weeks ago:
As the Administration implements the law, it is following through on President Biden’s commitment to ensure investments advance equity and racial justice, reach communities all across the country – including rural communities, communities of color, and disability communities – and strengthen the nation’s resilience to climate change.110
That doesn’t sound like crumbling roads and collapsing bridges. It sounds more like the radical Democrat Party agenda that Texas Congresswoman Kay Granger warned us about after she did the right thing, unlike other feckless Republican Party lawmakers, and said no to supporting this legislative lie:
Today’s vote was not about rebuilding our Nation’s infrastructure but rather about spending trillions of dollars on the latest liberal wish list,” said Congresswoman Kay Granger. “Less than 25% of the new spending in this so-called ‘infrastructure’ bill goes to traditional infrastructure like roads and bridges, and only a fraction of the bill’s $1.2 trillion total cost is paid for.111
Granger isn’t the first to point out that what we’re hearing from the White House and Democrats about repairing our infrastructure might not be entirely true. Radical progressivism permeates everything the Biden administration touches and this will be no exception despite a propaganda campaign that, when all is said and done, will turn out to be another pack of lies from Biden and governing Democrats.
