UPDATE September 4, 2022:
Are God and the Pope liars? Ask Nancy Pelosi.
Sometimes good people don’t tell the truth. It happens. We aren’t perfect. When we get caught lying we usually feel guilty and ashamed. Try as we might, most of us were raised by parents who taught us at a very young age that telling a lie is morally and ethically wrong.
Politicians don’t always hold themselves to that same ethical standard, especially when they plan to spend $370 billion on a radical climate hoax to score points before a major election. Nancy Pelosi isn’t ashamed to admit what she did by ushering the Democrat Party’s fraudulent Inflation Reduction Act through Congress. In fact, she’s proud of what she’s done.
When the truth came out that the Inflation Reduction Act was anything but, Democrats screeched louder than ever about the end of humanity. Taxpayers got a Congressional Budget Office letter confirming the legislation will have a “negligible effect” on inflation and to our detriment, reduce business investment and the incentive for Americans to work. It made no difference. Democrats have the power to do practically anything they want. When they talk about the bill now, they rarely mention reducing inflation because inflation was never what all this spending is about.
Pelosi dragged the Pope into her party’s big lie during rambling, nonsensical remarks made during an August 31, 2022 press conference:
And again, the security people tell us that this is a security issue, because the conflict over resources and habitat and adaptation, all of those things can be cause of conflict. But most importantly, For The Children, it is our moral responsibility — it’s a moral responsibility to preserve the planet for them and pass it on to future generations. The Pope has spoken out about it just this week. The President of the United States has made it an urgent matter just these last few days. And we were very proud to pass the legislation.233
It’s also a moral responsibility to tell the truth, which begs the question of why a public official with Pelosi’s visibility and power feels no obligation to demonstrate how the truth works to America’s children.
Politicians also have an ethical responsibility to tell the people they represent the truth about why they must spend hundreds of billions of our money. Instead, Pelosi promised:
Again, it does what we want to do to fight inflation by lowering costs. It’s fully paid for and no new taxes, as President Biden has said, for families making under $400,000 a year.234
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer backed her up, albeit more tersely:
Unemployment, as I said, in January 2021: 6.4%. It’s now 3.5%, halved. Is inflation too high? It is. We passed a bill.235
Now, with their Inflation Reduction Act a done deal Democrats don’t even try to fake it. We know they did this to boost their midterm prospects. They aren’t ashamed and there is nothing we can do to stop them, anyway.
Bringing God into this deception doesn’t make it better:
It was legislation put together by listening to scientists and to listening to people of faith who believe this is God’s creation, listening to, as I said, natural – national security people, scientists as well as, again, people of faith.236
Neither does Pelosi’s transparent “for the children” appeal improve her party’s ethical stance. This is a risky claim for Democrats who focus their election agenda on killing as many babies as the health care system can manage and who refuse to denounce LGBTQ-whatever grooming and pushing genital mutilation on America’s kids.
I don’t know how God and the Pope feel about these things, but it’s not something I would ever want my name associated with any more than I would want to explain to good, hard-working taxpayers why I am spending hundreds of billions of dollars on an Inflation Reduction Act that isn’t about reducing inflation.
We’ll leave that explanation between Pelosi and God.
UPDATE September 8, 2022:
Democrats resort to threatening your grandmother with another election hoax.
Sinking 401k(s), high prices, ridiculous climate Armageddon economic policies and an angry, threatening autocrat in the White House have not helped Democrats’ midterm prospects. The usual passel of lies about President Trump won’t get the job done, either. Americans have heard it all before. What’s left? Scaring vulnerable seniors with a recycled lie about the end of Social Security.
The newest version of this hoax began with Nancy Pelosi attaching herself to a proposal by Florida Senator Rick Scott. Months later, it’s Democrat Party orthodoxy that America’s enemies, the hated MAGA Republicans, are going to destroy Social Security out of sheer malevolence as soon as they get the chance.
Democrats aren’t clear whether GOP extremists will leave America’s elderly starving in the gutter before or after they destroy democracy, but they assure us that those desperately needed checks are going to stop coming if we don’t vote for their party.
Pelosi’s press office threatened in February that Republicans plan to raise taxes on struggling seniors. She quickly picked up Biden’s MAGA Republican ball and ran with it, warning that the GOP was scheming to end Social Security in just five short years.
In a press release attacking Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson as a – you guessed it – extreme MAGA Republican, she claims:
Plans to cut off millions of Americans from these livelihood-protecting programs are thriving in the House GOP …237
Pelosi offered as proof a proposed budget signed by 16 Republicans. Either she thinks her base can’t read, or she’s assuming no one will look at her evidence:
The RSC Budget recognizes it is paramount to honor Social Security’s commitments and to fully compensate those Americans and their families for the high taxes levied on them for decades to fund this program.238
The reforms contained in this budget would ensure the survival of the Social Security program and protect the low and middle-income retirees who rely on it.239
She also accuses Republicans of scheming to end Medicare, but that’s not what her document says:
To avoid such a [Medicare bankruptcy] catastrophe, the RSC Budget proposes a Medicare reform plan that would ensure the programs survival while protecting benefits for those in or near retirement240
When one Democrat tells a lie like the Trump-Russia collusion tale, the rest swarm to promote it like insects to a light. The Social Security hoax is now incontrovertible fact:
Today, Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) commemorated the 87th Anniversary of Social Security by vowing to protect this critical program in the face of attacks from extreme MAGA Republicans who plan to end Social Security in five years.241
Senate Democrats spread the same story, warning that “Extreme MAGA Republicans Care About Only One Thing: Their Own Power.”
They plan to end Social Security and Medicare in five years, ripping hard-earned money away from tens of millions of Americans.242
The party threatened seniors with the same hoax before the 2020 election:
Trump’s payroll tax proposal is the single worst way to provide economic relief to struggling American families because it is stealing from their retirement to make up for his abysmal failure to contain the ever-growing COVID-19
Pandemic and safeguard our economy. The payroll tax accounts for nearly 90 percent of Social Security funding and repealing it will destroy Social Security—and with it the livelihoods of countless recipients who worked a lifetime and paid into the program for decades.243
Now American families really are struggling and it’s not because of Trump. It’s two years later and Democrats are reduced to recycling lies and disinformation to frighten your grandmother into offering up her vote. This is a contemptible strategy for politicians that used to stand for something other than hoaxes, lies, disinformation, and unbridled hate for anyone who disagrees with a progressive agenda that’s quickly dragging America down. Social Security isn’t going anywhere, but the current incarnation of the Democrat Party is not going to last much longer because it’s too ethically bankrupt to survive.
UPDATE September 17, 2022:
Virtue signalling Democrats should tell the truth about neo-slavery.
It’s not Ron DeSantis or Greg Abbott’s fault that our border is overrun by migrants or that we face an unprecedent surge of illegals invading our country. It’s the fault of Joe Biden and Democrats who lure people from all over the world with the promise of open borders, sanctuary policies, and that elusive path to citizenship that is not going to happen. We all know this. It is not a secret, no matter how many times they lie about a secure border.
The Democrat Party gives us one choice and once choice only: pass what they erroneously call comprehensive immigration reform. Like “inflation reduction,” this is a deceptive term that means amnesty and citizenship. Since we have not agreed to what they demand, Americans have to deal with the consequences. That means hordes of illegals, migrants, murderers, child sex offenders, possible terrorists, and fentanyl spilling into our country.
Democrat city and state officials are whining and moaning about the handful of illegals transported to their immigrant sanctuaries. Suddenly illegals are political pawns subjected to unthinkable cruelty, not migrants desperately seeking protection where protection was promised. Virtue signalling Lori Lightfoot, J.B. Pritzker, Muriel Bowser, and other liberal hacks are completely overwhelmed because they want to be. They would rather play politics than live up their values. With a little luck, perhaps the Biden administration will throw some taxpayer cash their way to deal with their respective crises.
I doubt that any wealthy Martha’s Vineyard resident or any whiny, prominent Democrat has a problem with illegals bussing their fancy restaurant tables or scrubbing their toilets or wiping their children’s backsides or working in a chicken processing plant in whereabouts unknown. These illegal workers pay the oppressive fines, sales taxes, fees, and levies big Democrat cities like Chicago are famous for. For the most part they are captives who aren’t going anywhere. They won’t become middle class citizens or wealthy entrepreneurs or nuclear physicists. Their education and legal status will keep them at the bottom of the ladder and that’s where Democrats want them.
Let’s call this what it is: 21st Century neo-slavery. Illegals are a reliable, cheap labor source because they have little choice and just about any job is a good job. When the legitimate economy fails to deliver opportunity, Biden’s border surge also feeds illegal industries like sex work and drug dealing as unpleasant alternatives
Governors Abbott and DeSantis made fools of big city Democrats and the Biden administration, but this is about much more than calling out these virtue signalling idealogues for what they area. Democrats are creating a massive class of dependent illegal workers. The same party that talks about reparations for slavery has adopted an entirely new take on the peculiar institution. Their open border policies feed neo-slavery for those trapped at the bottom of our legal and illegal economies and that’s how they like it.
UPDATE September 18, 2022:
Democrats even lie to their own voters, so why would anyone trust them to govern?
It’s less than two months before midterms and the party that lies about a secure border, addresses violent crime with legislation to let criminals free, passes massive climate spending legislation with a title that’s a lie in itself, and tries to blame the economic destruction of America on anything except the perpetrators has a lot to answer for. It seems nothing Democrats say can be trusted. They even lie to their own base about their pick for most important midterm issue.
Nancy Pelosi leads her party as more than House speaker. She’s hard to beat when it comes to stubbornly refusing to tell the truth:
The nationwide abortion ban proposal put forth today is the latest, clearest signal of extreme MAGA Republicans’ intent to criminalize women’s health freedom in all 50 states and arrest doctors for providing basic care.244
That lie came from the speaker after Senator Lindsey Graham (D-SC) introduced poorly-timed, pre-midterm abortion legislation that would ban killing babies after 15 weeks. The bill attracted only three cosponsors. Like her false claim that the Republican Party wants to end Social Security and Medicare, Pelosi pushed the abortion disinformation envelope to the absolute limit of credibility:
Meanwhile, House Republicans have overwhelmingly backed criminalizing abortion nationwide, rejecting women’s right to travel for health care and even eliminating the right to birth control.245
The GOP wants to eliminate the right to birth control? Senators Ed Markey (D-MA) and Patty Murray (D-WA) pushed the same fake story when they introduced their Right to Contraception Act:
Today, Republicans showed the American people where they stand: no abortions, and no birth control to prevent the need for one. 246
The purpose of contraception is to prevent abortion? The argument gets credit for being unique, but the truth about Republicans is exactly the opposite. They attacked Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) for not supporting their bill. We’ll let Senator Ernst’s press release on her own contraception legislation speak for itself:
U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) is leading an effort to expand health care choices for women by increasing access to contraceptives over-the-counter (OTC) and without a prescription. Ernst is being joined on her Allowing Greater Access to Safe and Effective Contraception Act by Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-Iowa), and Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (R-Iowa).
Rep. Hinson remarked:
Allowing adult women to access over-the-counter birth control at their local pharmacy is commonsense policy.247
It sure doesn’t sound like Republicans are trying to ban birth control, but then Democrats hysterical enthusiasm to execute babies – lots of babies – means that we can’t believe anything we hear any more than we can trust that a bill promoted to reduce inflation has anything to do with reducing inflation or that a border overrun by illegals is secure.
What’s so troubling is that Democrats don’t even feel an obligation to be honest with their own base. Does every Democrat in America live in a world of partisan lies so pervasive that the facts no longer matter? That seems to be the case, so the next question is why any sane American who cares about this country would trust Democrats to govern? They’ve had the chance since January 2021 and the results have been disastrous.
UPDATE September 23, 2022:
Pelosi’s commitment to America: Democrats will hurt you, your family, and our country and never stop.
Nancy Pelosi sounded her MAGA extremist dog whistle this morning as she attacked the Republican Commitment to America:
Today’s rollout is the latest evidence of House Republicans’ whole-hearted Commitment to MAGA: going all-in on an extremist agenda designed to greatly diminish Americans’ health, freedom and security.248
Diminishing our health, freedom, and security is what Pelosi and her party set out to do in January 2021. They have been successful beyond our wildest fears.
In an astounding press release that gives Democrats credit for all the things they have done to hurt us, Pelosi cites three alleged successes they should be voted out of office for: lower costs, better-paying jobs and safer communities.
Not a single one of these things has happened. Inflation is through the roof and with it, skyrocketing food and fuel prices and interest rates, so your new home or car just got a lot more expensive. Better-paying jobs are a pipe dream promise of Green New Deal socialism.
Pelosi should spend more time explaining to people in the cities her party controls how they are safer as they live their lives dodging bullets, looking over their shoulders, and worrying if their kids will survive to adulthood. Over 60 people were shot in Chicago last weekend. This, apparently, is the kind of safer Democrat-run community she wants credit for.
What have Pelosi and the Democrats done to fulfill their commitment to Americans who voted them into office? It took them less than two years to Make America Worse:
They used your tax dollars to for massive spending on their priorities, to inflict Green New Deal socialism, raise inflation, and make food and fuel unaffordable.
They passed laws to restrict your freedom including attacks on Second Amendment rights and state laws restricting what kind of cars you will be allowed to buy.
They targeted parents and conservatives as threats to America.
They endorse genital mutilation of children, LGBTQ-whatever grooming, and exposure to drag shows and other aberrant pseudo-sexual displays.
They deny America a sovereign border and have allowed millions of illegals to invade our nation.
They created a booming economy for violent Mexican drug cartels.
They allowed unprecedent amounts of fentanyl to flow into America and kill our people.
They promote crime by protecting the “justice-involved” instead of keeping law-abiding citizens alive and safe.
They shield a president who is so obviously cognitively impaired that he is a danger to our country every time he opens his mouth.
Worst of all:
Democrats aggressively push a political platform that relies on tens of millions of Americans being dangerous extremists and enemies of the state because we want America to be great.
This is Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats Party’s commitment to America. Their propaganda about abortion and lies about GOP plans to destroy Social Security and Medicare change nothing. Their record of failure and the intentional infliction of pain on the American people for the sake of their activist political agenda speaks for itself.
Two more years of Democrats fulfilling their commitment to Make America Worse has the sole benefit of enriching political hacks like Pelosi who get wealthy on the public dole and lie to voters to deflect blame for the incalculable damage they’ve caused. If there aren’t enough Americans able to see through their gaslighting and lies and vote them out of office in November, then our country is finished and deservedly so. We won’t survive two more years of Pelosi’s take on a commitment to America.
UPDATE September 29, 2022:
We must hold Democrats accountable for Pelosi’s newest moral outrage.
What better way for Democrats to deflect blame for kids going to bed hungry than to announce spending money on a problem they made worse? Nancy Pelosi followed up her finger wagging over “outrageous racial and economic injustices” by blaming America again, this time for a moral outrage to dovetail with the White House’s new nutrition initiative:
“The injustice of children going to bed hungry is a moral outrage – one that motivated myself and many in our House Democratic Caucus to seek public office.250
Pelosi has been in office since the Stone Age. If hungry kids were the reason she and her Democrat colleagues sought office, then they haven’t done their job.
Democrats made kids hungry and we can’t forget it.
Democrats helped make kids hungry by focusing congressional priorities on Green New Deal socialism and dumping cash into showy spending bills because they had the power to use our money to appease the radical left. Now our economy is unaffordable for many Americans.
In the aftermath of the Democrat takeover of Washington food is too expensive and the ability to feed our most vulnerable without foreign assistance is jeopardized. Babies are the least able to provide food for themselves and yet the baby formula shortage that defines the impact of Democrat Party priorities is still with us. Not only do we go begging for oil, the Biden administration is still announcing shipments of formula from overseas.251 as if further proof of our appalling failure to provide for ourselves is something to be proud of.
Pelosi dodges the issue by trying to garner more credit for childhood nutrition programs:
And with the Keep Kids Fed Act, we took action to protect our children from rising food prices – securing free school meals for the 2022 summer break and ensuring cafeterias were equipped for the new school year.252
School lunches won’t keep babies fed and won’t put too-expensive food on dinner tables, either. While the Biden administration boasts an $8 billion commitment from private groups to back the president’s pre-midterm hunger, nutrition, and health initiative,253 Democrats in Congress pushed to ship another $12 billion in assistance in Ukraine. This is where the party’s priorities really lie: spending on a black hole that will be with us for many years all the way through Ukraine’s reconstruction so they can pat themselves on the back for defending the freedom and democracy they show little regard for here at home.
Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) summed up Biden and the Democrats’ economy:
“Parents—who are already struggling to afford groceries, gas, and electricity bills—still can’t find the baby formula they need,” said Rodgers. “President Joe Biden owes them answers.254
There is glaring moral outrage and injustice at play in America’s food crisis. The blame should be laid at the feet of Biden, Pelosi, and the Democrat Party. We can’t let Democrats off the hook by gaslighting about a new nutrition plan to cover up what they have done to make feeding America’s families more difficult and putting the lives of our most vulnerable at risk.
UPDATE September 30, 2022:
Pelosi spokesman just proved what a terrible job Democrats have done.
In the real world a job well done speaks for itself. There is nothing to defend. You don’t have to lie or pass the buck.
This isn’t how it works in the unreal world of Washington politics. No politician will admit to failure or doing harm unless they are explaining a guilty plea. No matter what you’ve done, it’s always someone else’s fault until the voters become so fed up that you are replaced and deservedly so.
Democrats have made a mess of America. When we leave our homes we see the proof posted on gas station signs that keep changing in the wrong direction. We see it in grocery aisles as we place favorite items back on the shelf because they cost too much. We see video of violent crime in cities where law enforcement is subverted by progressives. We see it in images of our overrun southern border. We see it when we look at our 401(k) balance and stock market investments that deteriorate practically every day.
These are real results of real Democrat Party policies that hurt real Americans. They are indefensible.
Unhinged rhetoric makes a comeback.
Before the 2020 election Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) called out Nancy Pelosi for her “unhinged rhetoric” after she called Republicans domestic enemies:
There’s no place for that hyper-charged language that she uses. You know, ‘Enemies of the state,’ and all of this. I mean, like that’s the hyper-charged language led to that crazed gunman coming out trying to kill every Republican on the ball field.”255
Biden tried the same strategy during his September 1, 2022 attack on conservatives, as if dividing the country even more than he already has will finally lead to something good. Now Democrats face another election. Their rhetoric is increasingly hateful as they work in concert with the Biden White House to again target their political opponents as national enemies. This has no place in America and neither do the Democrat Party’s radical policies.
If Democrats had done their job and remembered that they answer to the people and not the other way around things might be different. They wouldn’t have to defend what they’ve done with lies and hate. Nor would they need to rely on a staged January 6 Kangaroo Court or depend on their autocrat president to use the nation’s justice and security agencies to spread fear and intimidate the people as November 8 draws closer.
Attack by Pelosi spokesman proves Democrats have failed.
Yesterday, a spokesman for Pelosi released a surprisingly juvenile attack on Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) that proves just how desperate and hateful the party is going into the midterms:
Truthfully, a desperate [House Republican Leadership] press conference is about par for the course for an uninspiring and incoherent politician like the Minority Leader, whose only real accomplishment to date is typing up a radical right-wing wish list that sends a clear message to the American people that House Republicans have gone off the deep end.256
None of this is true. In fact, it’s Democrats who went off the deep end with their climate hysteria. Their failure leaves them with nothing but lies and these kinds of unwarranted attacks.
It didn’t end there. Americans also heard about “the MAGA cult,” a “dangerous, extreme unpopular agenda” that includes stealing the right to choose our leaders.257
There is no room for any of this in the America that was. This is the hateful, divisive America that is now thanks to the Democrat Party and its angry, equally hateful president who also has great difficulty telling the truth.
It’s time to dump the Democrats. America deserves better.
If Democrats had done a good job we wouldn’t be subjected to this overblown, hateful rhetoric and fusillade of lies and disinformation. The latest release from the speaker’s office is the best example yet of what Democrats anticipate in November. Had they done their job as shepherds of our great nation they wouldn’t have to lie, accuse, and blame because we would be living the benefits in our daily lives.
