UPDATE December 12, 2022:
BLS data proves White House is still lying about Biden’s terrible economy.
The White House still hasn’t given up its crusade to gaslight Americans into believing President Biden, the Democrat Party, and their cadre of economic geniuses are making our financial lives better. It’s foolish to lie about something we can prove for ourselves isn’t true every time we buy food or gas, but they seem to think that repetition makes lies come true. It does not, any more than DHS Secretary Mayorkas’ claims that the border is secure will stop the invasion of illegals into our country.
Karine Jean-Pierre boasted “great news for the American people” during last Friday’s press conference:
The President traveled to Arizona, underscoring how his economic plan continues to create jobs, revitalize American manufacturing, strengthen our supply chains, and give families more breathing room.304
She didn’t mention the breaking news that an auto assembly plant in Illinois will close and impact as many as 1,350 workers with “indefinite layoffs” which, according to WGN Radio, are due in large part to the costs of the electric car market.305
A few days prior, the president also painted a rosy picture of our financial lives:
And now inflation at the grocery store is coming down. Prices of things like clothing, televisions, appliances are going down.
And there’s good news for the holiday season: Gas prices have fallen below the levels they are before Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.306
At least he didn’t blame our high gas prices on Putin. Instead, we’re supposed to draw that conclusion for ourselves.
The truth is that things are not getting better in any meaningful way. The latest Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index Summary reported:
The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) rose 0.4 percent in October on a seasonally adjusted basis, the same increase as in September, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 7.7 percent before seasonal adjustment.307
The index for shelter contributed over half of the monthly all items increase, with the indexes for gasoline and food also increasing. The energy index increased 1.8 percent over the month as the gasoline index and the electricity index rose, but the natural gas index decreased. The food index increased 0.6 percent over the month with the food at home index rising 0.4 percent.308
This and a passel of lies about the economy is what Americans received in exchange for depleting our Strategic Petroleum Reserve because Biden refuses to exploit the resources under our feet that would rescue Americans from his Green New Deal economy.
Pictures tell stories better than words. This is the truth about the Biden economy’s impact on what you pay just to get by.
This is not great news for the American people despite what Jean-Pierre says, but most of us learned many months ago to not believe anything that comes from this honesty-impaired White House.
UPDATE December 23, 2022:
Want honesty about the border from a Democrat? Read between their lies.
During yesterday’s Senate floor tantrum over GOP efforts to force an extension of Title 42, Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) gave us the kind of honesty about our border that we’ll never get from the Biden White House:
Title 42 is a disastrous relic of the Trump Administration and Stephen Miller’s racist immigration policies. It is grounded in the callous ideology that somehow Latino immigrants who come to our southern border don’t deserve humanitarian protections under our laws,” said Sen. Menendez from the Senate Floor.309
Yes, these are lies, but lies are how Democrats communicate their agenda to the American people. Take the Inflation Reduction Act. It was obvious from the start that it had little or nothing to do with inflation. Democrats gave their climate bill that title because Americans were worried about rising prices and lawmakers wanted to scam us into believing they were doing something about it. The truth was always there, but it was hidden between the lies.
In this case Menendez was admirably honest about his party’s intention to deny Americans a border so foreign nationals don’t have to worry in the least about trespassing into our country. The race card is good for silencing opposition – if you argue with what he said you must be a racist – but the truth is that Democrats really do believe illegals deserve to be here. Just don’t ask how they know that the hundreds of thousands of gotaways Biden let in are fleeing persecution.
Menendez didn’t say anything about the illegals coming from the other corners of the globe. At least he was honest about where Democrats stand: if you show up at our border, we have no choice but to take you in.
Some congressional lawmakers are very bright, astute people. Some are not. Here is an example of the latter:
Sen. Menendez has long advocated for an end to inhumane Trump-era immigration policies such as Title 42 and Remain in Mexico, which were both designed by Stephen Miller to evade the nation’s domestic and international legal obligations to asylum seekers and to increase irregular migration at the southern border.310
If this was true, migration would have increased while Trump was president. That’s not what happened. It exploded when Biden took office and began repealing Trump-era policies. Nevertheless, the moronic claim that Title 42 and not the Biden presidency is responsible for record border crossings is making the rounds.
Menendez claims Title 42 only helps the cartels:
The only individuals that benefit from extending Title 42 are the smuggling networks that exploit migrants, predominantly Black and Brown migrants, who we turn away before adjudicating why they chose to migrate.311
I won’t bother ranting about how little sense this makes. If our border was secure we wouldn’t have to worry about smuggling networks or exploiting green, purple, brown, red, blue, black, or any color migrant that shows up. Democrats and the Biden White House have made human and fentanyl smuggling and sex trafficking an enormously lucrative endeavor for Mexican drug cartels, though they would probably argue that my reference to Mexican cartels is also racist.
The simple truth is that we can learn a lot from whatever batch of Democrat lies is trending. Little, if anything Menendez said in his speech defending illegal immigration is true, but there is incredible honesty to be found in his words if we look for it.
UPDATE December 27, 2022:
“For the People” was the biggest Democrat lie of 2022.
Question: if everything Democrats did in 2022 was for the people and they had control of the White House, House, and Senate for the entire year, why did our lives get worse?
Answer: they lied.
While prices rose, inflation soared, crime exploded, government spending skyrocketed, Democrats held an anti-Trump Kangaroo Court, and the Biden administration cleared the way for illegals to invade our country, Nancy Pelosi assured us on her “For the People” page that it’s all about us:
We will restore dignity to our democracy and give power back to the people—because our leaders should be focused on making sure our government works for everyone.312
Soon to be House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) pushed the envelope further, promising:
House Democrats are continuing to put people over politics.313
How did this work in practice? In 2022 it meant handing taxpayers a hybrid Build Back Better-Green New Deal “Inflation Reduction” spending bill. For Christmas, Democrats and 27 sellout Republicans gifted Americans a $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill laden with pork.
Congress has a responsibility to ensure that our government works for the people,” said Congresswoman Julia Brownley. “This bipartisan, bicameral legislative package not only keeps our government open, but it delivers historic investments in America’s working families and our communities, it honors our commitment to our veterans, and it strengthens democracy at home and abroad.314
At the very top of the Democrat food chain, Joe Biden risked the same phrase in a speech that connected the January 6 riot, MAGA Republicans, Donald Trump, and the attack on Paul Pelosi. He claimed:
From the very beginning, nothing has been guaranteed about democracy in America. Every generation has had to defend it, protect it, preserve it, choose it, for that’s what democracy is: It’s a choice — a decision of the people, by the people, and for the people.315
The president didn’t explain how attacks on the people like his Disinformation Governance Board, government collusion with Twitter to stamp out free speech and control access to information, vaccine mandates, DHS scrutiny of parents, and other administration offenses attacking our rights furthered this goal, but he didn’t have to. Democrats have embraced authoritarian rule since January 2021. The paternalistic everyman who won the presidency in 2020 turned out to be an angry autocrat who destroyed any notion of government working for or answering to the people.
Instead of government for the people, the Biden administration and Democrat Congress turned the American people into subjects. Our role in America’s sham democracy is to embrace and promote and pay for whatever progressive orthodoxy is trending among liberal political elites. Any other response to the outrages perpetrated by Democrats is an offense against the nation that might earn you a cancelled social media account or worse, a knock at the door from officialdom determined to ensure that the people don’t interfere with all this good work performed on our behalf.
UPDATE January 7, 2023:
President Biden welcomes McCarthy’s new Republican House with four big lies.
As President Biden begins his third year as a figurehead for radicals unseen the lies are coming so fast and frequent that we have no choice but to apply the old joke about how you can tell when a lawyer is lying. Biden also lied about his academic rank in law school, so in his case this maxim is ironically applicable.
After wasting a week treading water and raising doubts, Republicans decided late last night that it was time to do something. The president responded with a short statement promoting himself and his accomplishments. Practically everything in it was a lie.
First, he claimed:
The American people expect their leaders to govern in a way that puts their needs above all else, and that is what we need to do now.316
Putting Americans’ needs first is why our people are dying from fentanyl coming across Biden’s border. It’s why we are paying exorbitant costs to heat our homes this winter and continue to be punished by soaring inflation, food and gas prices.
That said, the president turned the tables on what a Republican House majority means:
As I said after the midterms, I am prepared to work with Republicans when I can and voters made clear that they expect Republicans to be prepared to work with me as well.317
No, Joe. Americans who voted for Republicans expect them to hold you and your administration accountable for what you have done to our country.
Then, to demonstrate his willingness to work with the GOP, he resurrected the Democrat Party lie about Republicans attacking Social Security and Medicare benefits:
It is imperative that we protect Social Security and Medicare, not slash them.318
Biden made an appeal to “defend our national security, not defund it” without explaining what that means, though it sounds like he’s plotting for more billions for Ukraine. It’s true that we expect Republicans to defend America’s national security, in part by finding out why this president is so beholden to China and Ukraine, by taking back our border from criminal cartels, and shutting down the flow of foreign nationals that we know for a fact includes individuals on the terror watch list.
That finished, the president lied about his economy:
Today we learned that my plan to build an economy that works from the bottom up and the middle out has achieved the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years. And that we made 2021 and 2022 the best years for job growth on record.319
The December unemployment rate was 3.5%, back to where it was during the Trump presidency before COVID struck and Democrats shut down our workplaces and schools.
Despite the administration’s attack on the energy sector, the resilience of our private sector brought back the jobs that were lost, in part to the left’s oppressive, authoritarian lockdowns.
I will give the president credit for one statement that has a modicum of truth:
As the last two years show, we can do profound things for the country when we do them together.320
Biden’s White House has, in fact, done profound things to our country. This is not the same as doing things for our country or the American people. For that, we’ll have to wait and see if Republicans have the will and the spine to stand up to this authoritarian serial liar and the political hacks who do his bidding.
UPDATE January 11, 2023:
Liar Biden gets help promoting his new immigration scam from Trudeau and Lopez Obrador.
Three of the worst leaders the U.S., Canada, and Mexico have ever suffered under just released their “Declaration of North America” yesterday. We shouldn’t be surprised that their first two priorities are “diversity, equity, and inclusion” and “climate change and environment.” These are half-bright progressives who strictly adhere to dim-witted radical left talking points. We should expect no better.
After the president’s staged trip to El Paso over the weekend we also knew better than to expect anything but lies and a feint about his new border security plan. Biden’s solution to his manufactured crisis in concert with his two colleagues is to swap the idea of illegal immigration for a new, legal migration strategy that includes giving away American jobs to foreign nationals.
Their declaration portrays Biden’s border crisis as an achievement we should be proud of:
Since June, Mexico, the United States and Canada have collectively welcomed record numbers of migrants and refugees from the Western Hemisphere under new and expanded labor and humanitarian programs.563
The communities Biden uses to warehouse his illegals and tasked with their care and feeding are “host communities.” They will promote “migrant and refugee integration” as part of the commitment our traitorous president agreed to as part of this agreement with Trudeau and Lopez Obrador:
This includes assisting host communities and promoting migrant and refugee integration; providing protection to refugees, asylum seekers, and vulnerable migrants; strengthening asylum capacity in the region; expanding and promoting regular pathways for migration and protection; addressing the root causes and impacts of irregular migration and forced displacement; and collaborating to counter xenophobia and discrimination against migrants and refugees.564
Their screed posits the same stupid question our equally dimwitted vice president asks:
Now more than ever, we need to identify and address the root causes of irregular migration and forced displacement.565
Do you think the lure of residence in America and eventual citizenship, a cell phone, bus ticket, housing, food, medical care, and now work authorization might have something to do with these root causes, or is this another issue that we poor, dumb Americans just don’t have the capacity to understand?
