Liars Govern America. Why Won’t Democrats Tell the Truth?

Last update June 23, 20226 Comments

UPDATE June 7, 2022:

Pelosi resorts to war profiteering and a bill Jimmy Carter would have loved.

When most of the United States of America is mad at you, engaging in absurdly transparent propaganda instead of fixing the problem your political party caused is a foolish, counterproductive strategy. Apparently Joe Biden didn’t get the message. Neither did Nancy Pelosi.

When one lie doesn’t work, try another.

Democrats deserve credit for their impressive ability to spread falsehoods consistently and with one voice. Their lies become a mantra repeated over and over in hopes that our eyes will eventually glaze over and we’ll forget that none of what we are hearing is true.

The Biden Economy is still willfully tightening the screws on anyone who can’t afford the price of living in Green New Deal, Democrat-controlled America. Word must have escaped that Putin’s Price Hike was a big, fat lie to cover for the Biden administration’s clean energy price hike. That means it’s time to fall back on an old party favorite – corporate profiteering – only with an especially nasty twist:

At the same time, Democrats are hard at work to bring down costs for families. With our gas price gouging legislation, House Democrats voted to end Big Oil’s war profiteering and lower costs at the pump. Our Majority is also advancing legislation to lower food costs in the grocery aisle by lowering input costs for farmers and cracking down on unfair practices by meatpacking conglomerates that hurt ranchers and consumers alike.193

Accusing big business of price gouging aligns with Democrats’ socialist inclinations, but accusing energy companies of war profiteering is a little over the top, something we associate with Third World countries. That’s where we’re headed thanks to Biden and the Democrats, so Pelosi’s remarks would have some merit if she was talking about our government instead of the energy industry.

Rep. Rose DeLauro (D-CT) had already used the phrase when she talked about accountability, a concept Democrats can’t understand when it’s applied to them:

People need a government that looks out for the middle-class, working families, small businesses, and the vulnerable – not one that answers to the wealthiest and biggest corporations. It is time we hold Big Oil accountable for price gouging, war profiteering, and artificially keeping prices high for their own benefit, all while posting record profits.194

While Democrat after Democrat squawked about “gas price gouging” the House passed H.R. 7688, the Consumer Fuel Price Gouging Prevention Act. The legislation expands the president’s power by giving him the authority to declare energy emergencies in specific geographic areas to address “unconscionable pricing of consumer fuels.”

That’s a pretty scary concept when you think about it. The legislation uses the FTC and state attorneys general to do Democrats’ dirty work. Fortunately this is another DOA time-waster, a chance for Pelosi to grandstand, take credit for accomplishments that never happened, and to back her party’s outrageous lie that hurting Americans is not Joe Biden’s fault.

Rest assured that it is and we’ll hold it against every Democrat running for office in November. That’s the absolute truth.

UPDATE June 19, 2022:

Democrat leadership covers up its white supremacy problem with a big, fat lie.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD), House Assistant Speaker Katherine Clarke (D-MA), Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), Senate Assistant Democratic Leader Patty Murray (D-WA), and Senate Vice Chair of Conference Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) have two things in common. They represent the Democrat Party’s congressional leadership and they are white.

That’s not to say that all of the party’s leadership positions are filled by white people, but the most powerful and influential are. The career politicians filling the top slots are also proponents of the Biden administration’s white supremacy and domestic terror propaganda and the spurious claim that right wing white supremacists are our greatest domestic terror threat.

While many of us believe that Joe Biden is the greatest threat to our survival, this is not a truism we should expect the Democrat Party to endorse despite growing shakiness over the president’s 2024 reelection plans. White supremacy, on the other hand, is a slam dunk because Democrats control the narrative and our nation.

To that end, Schumer used the Buffalo shooting tragedy and Biden’s MAGA catchall to blame Republicans for white nationalism:

In the wake of the Buffalo shooting, MAGA Republicans continue embracing unhinged conspiracy theories like the Great Replacement, which has been a rallying cry for ultra-nationalists and white supremacists in Europe for years.195

The absence of GOP support for Democrats’ Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2022 required Schumer to rely on Trump to push his divisive political narrative:

If Republicans can’t join us on something as simple as that, Americans will see with even greater clarity how radical the GOP has become under Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans.196

The anniversary of the mass shooting at Mother Emanuel Church offered Nancy Pelosi the opportunity to reach back seven years to support the House version of this legislation:

With our Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act, House Democrats voted to better equip our nation’s fight against white supremacy.197

If Pelosi was inclined to tell the truth she might have said that this bill will better equip Democrats to attack conservatives and Republicans in particular, but truth is a concept with which the speaker and her Senate counterpart have only a passing acquaintance. Instead, like Schumer she followed the president’s lead and painted a fearful and false portrait of America to justify extending Democrats’ authoritarian control of our country with H.R. 350:

As deadly prejudice terrorizes families across the country, Americans must continue to speak out and demand the brighter future that our children deserve.198

The speaker concluded her remarks with a call to action:

Today, and every day, let us renew our resolve to stamp out hateful violence wherever and whenever it arises.199

She didn’t qualify that comment, so I will. If Pelosi really cared about stopping hateful violence “wherever and whenever” she would have immediately brought the bipartisan Police Parity Act to a vote. Even the assassination plot against Justice Brett Kavanaugh and the potential for more of the same or worse from the left because of the coming Roe decision wasn’t enough to compel the speaker to act. The bill was introduced in the House on May 10, 2022 but was not brought to a vote until June 14, 2022.

Meanwhile, protesters continue to threaten outside of justices’ home in violation of federal law.

Democrats encourage protesters to ignore the law when it fulfills their policy objectives. That means H.R. 350 only has teeth for the left because it relies on agencies controlled by White House and congressional ideologues who will ignore any evidence that their white supremacy narrative is false and misleading:

The domestic terrorism components of DHS, DOJ, and the FBI must jointly report on domestic terrorism, including white-supremacist-related incidents or attempted incidents.

Democrat Party leadership is the definition of white supremacy.

White Democrats who control the White House and Capitol Hill decide who to fear, who to reward, and how our laws should be enforced and against whom. As a consequence the violent, terrorist arm of their party that they pretend doesn’t exist gets a free pass while conservative Americans – including concerned parents – face federal scrutiny as possible terrorists.

Pelosi and Schumer’s anti-terrorism legislation targets alleged right wing extremism with the false assumption that white supremacy is about political affiliation and not control. The November 2021 Waukesha Christmas Parade attack proves this is false.

Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin spoke out against hate crimes in a May 23, 2022 press release:

We need to stand up against racially motivated hate crimes, White supremacy, violent extremism, and the racist conspiracy theories, like the ‘Great Replacement Theory,’ that fuel these attacks.200

Despite having an office in Milwaukee that is a mere 18 miles from Waukesha, Baldwin never mentions the incident in her press release although she cites numerous other violent attacks. Democrats have been largely silent about Biden’s Justice Department’s refusal to treat this incident as domestic terror though it most certainly would have had the driver been white and the victims people of color

This defines the Democrat Party’s white supremacy problem and its enforcement of the party leadership’s big lie about domestic terror. The white supremacist political dominance of Schumer, Pelosi, and other leaders allows them to dictate moral values, right and wrong, how the rule of law is enforced, which violent incidents are worthy of politization and which are best swept under the rug because they challenge Democrat orthodoxy. That orthodoxy contends that only conservatives and especially those who support Trump can be white supremacists. It’s a convenient shield for Democrats to hide behind and one that is utterly false.

UPDATE June 23, 2022:

Pelosi lies twice about today’s Supreme Court decision.

Arrogant House speaker and liar-in-chief Nancy Pelosi is losing her tiny little mind over a Supreme Court she can’t control. If she is afraid her party will suffer the fallout from SCOTUS decisions that don’t align with Democrat priorities, it’s too late. Pelosi and her party cooked their woke, Green New Deal goose. It’s over. Very soon voters are going to send that message.

One of the reasons we have a Supreme Court is to protect Americans from career partisan hacks like the speaker who have been around too long, have too much power, and are so full of themselves that they forget our highest court is a separate branch of government for a reason. The court is our last line of defense between the Constitution and our two political parties. It deserves the respect of government officials and politicians whether or not they agree with whatever decisions are handed down.

Pelosi’s statement about the decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen is reprehensible. She disrespects the court and lies to the American People with a false, inflammatory, misleading headline:

Pelosi Statement on Supreme Court Decision Promoting Gun Violence201

The speaker tries to leverage public opinion by accusing the court of being dominated by the GOP despite Americans fleeing to the Republican side of the aisle to rid themselves of her party’s woke nonsense:

By making it more difficult to enact measures that reduce gun violence, the GOP Supermajority Court is condoning the horrific mass shootings and ongoing tragedy of daily gun deaths plaguing our nation.202

Accusing the justices of promoting gun violence and condoning mass shootings was Pelosi’s first lie.

Her second?

Despite this ill-considered ruling, Democrats will never relent in our fight to end the scourge of gun violence.203

Perhaps she doesn’t consider the killings in her party’s cities a scourge, or perhaps the deaths of scores of black and brown Americans from handguns are back pocket insurance Democrats can pull out when they need to rally their base about the plight of black and brown communities. It doesn’t really matter. If Democrats want to end gun violence in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Baltimore, St. Louis, and their other violent cities they should do it now. They have the power and the control. What they don’t have is the will because the only thing that matters to them is politics.

Pelosi’s conduct is vile even for the speaker. If her hope is that accusing the justices of promoting gun violence will result in the kind of retaliation that almost befell Justice Kavanaugh then she might want to rethink what her party’s threat to take away our Second Amendment rights will do for gun sales. Democrats’ refusal to enforce the law and their enforcement of policies that place Americans in harm’s way while they bang their drum about restricting firearms will drive decent, law-abiding people to gun dealers in droves.
