UPDATE October 21, 2021: Democrats still refuse to tell the truth about these seven false promises.
Promises don’t create truth, especially on Capitol Hill. Someone should have informed the House Democratic Caucus how the truth works in real life before Chair Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) issued this statement yesterday:
We will crush the virus. We will create millions of good-paying jobs. We will fix our crumbling infrastructure. We will cut taxes for working families, low-income families and middle-class families, largely but not exclusively through the enhanced and expanded Child Tax Credit. We will lower costs in child care and health care and education for everyday Americans. And we will confront the climate crisis with the fierce urgency of now because there is no planet B.
That’s a long list of “we wills.” Democrats won’t do any of these things. Nancy Pelosi seems to know that. You can tell when the speaker sniffs failure. She pulls children out of her trick bag:
When people ask me, ‘What are the three most important issues facing the Congress?’ I always say the same thing: our children, our children, our children.51
Worse, she praises our rapidly failing president as if Americans aren’t aware of what is happening to our country:
And again, we could not be better served by the President of the United States.
This exemplifies governing with lies. The truth about what governing Democrats promise is just as simple as the fact of Biden’s massive failures:
Promise: Democrats will crush the virus.
Fact: even with vaccines, treatment options, and crushing federal and state COVID mandates more Americans have died on Biden’s watch than Trump’s. Issuing punishing, authoritarian vaccine requirements for workers creates pushback, not victory.
Promise: we will create millions of good-paying jobs.
Fact: recent jobs reports are terrible. They will get worse if Democrats Build Back Better and destroy even more jobs with their socialist, tax the rich, green economy wish list.
Those elusive, high-paying green energy jobs are exactly that: elusive.
Promise: we will fix America’s crumbling infrastructure.
Fact: the socialist reconciliation bill comes first. If Democrats wanted infrastructure they already had the Republican support to get it done. Besides, with the mess Democrats made of our supply chain do we really want them involved with roads and bridges?
Promise: we will cut taxes for low-income families and the middle class.
Fact: middle-class families are suffering from Biden’s high prices, inflation, shortages, and the regressive taxes and fees enforced by Democrats at the state and local levels. Example: Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker’s very non-progressive gas tax that doubled in 2019, keeps increasing, and is blind to income.
Promise: the Child Tax Credit will help families.
Fact: Democrats will use this fraud-ridden credit to give money to illegal immigrants. Children of illegal parents with Social Security numbers already qualify and with the numbers of new illegals being admitted into the U.S. this handout will only expand.
Do Democrats think the middle class is dumb enough to believe that the Child Tax Credit – which not all Americans qualify for – will make up for the rest of their economic damage that will weigh heaviest on working families?
Promise: Democrats will lower the cost of health care.
Fact: they already tried this and failed miserably. That’s why they’re in such a hurry to replace the damage they’ve done with something even more costly.
Promise: climate change will destroy the planet.
Fact: so will nuclear war and that’s a very real possibility with our woke-obsessed, incompetent administration in charge of military and foreign policy.
UPDATE October 24, 2021: how many Americans need to suffer and die for Pelosi to tell the truth about Biden and COVID-19?
On this morning’s Sunday news circuit Nancy Pelosi made another outrageous statement praising President Biden:
And I want to commend President Biden for having a completely different approach than his predecessor on this. We have to correct a lot of what went wrong then. And we’re on a good path. 52
So there can be no misunderstanding about this big, fat lie, this is what Pelosi’s “good path” really means:
1. The COVID-19 death toll on Biden’s watch is appalling despite widespread vaccine availability. He heaped blame for COVID deaths on Trump but failed to meet his own Independence Day vaccination pledge. We watched COVID cases climb while the president’s approval rating plummeted.
2. Biden’s “completely different approach” is thanks to vaccines developed by Operation Warp Speed. Given Joe’s inability to do anything but fail, there is no doubt that we’d still be fighting over the climate footprint of vaccine development if not for Trump.
3. Biden lied to Americans about whether he would institute the vaccine mandate that has the country in turmoil and mission critical employees quitting their jobs.
4. Democrats have corrected nothing. They took credit for Trump’s work, blamed him for less of a COVID nightmare than we now have under Biden, and are well on their way to convincing Americans that we can’t trust anything that comes from our public health bureaucracy.
This is what a “good path” looks like to the speaker. If Democrats want to talk about the Big Lie, they need look no farther than this.
UPDATE November 1, 2021: Pelosi & Biden push their expensive, racist health care bill.
If you don’t yet have expensive, Democrat Party affordable health care Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden want you to know it’s time to sign up. They issued twin press releases today for a bill progressives were damning in favor of single payer health care not too long ago:
The Affordable Care Act is a pillar of health and financial security for families, delivering on Democrats’ promise that affordable health care is a right, not a privilege.53
That was from Speaker Pelosi, who also claimed we are on the cusp of universal coverage:
Build Back Better will extend the enhanced subsidies included in the American Rescue Plan — securing affordable premiums for over nine million Americans, delivering coverage to millions of uninsured people and bringing us to near universal health coverage in America.54
According to the CDC there are 31.2 million uninsured Americans under age 65, but instead of slicing and dicing Pelosi’s math we’ll let the president speak:
This transformational investment will reduce premiums for more than nine million Americans, deliver health coverage to four million uninsured people in states that have failed to expand Medicaid, and expand Medicare to help older Americans access affordable hearing care.55
I still can’t come up with 31.2 million, but I was never very good at math.
What I am good at is reading and listening. Throughout 2020 we heard about racial disparities in health care as Democrats tried to hang minority COVID-19 deaths on Donald Trump despite their own overreaching promises that Obamacare would fix America’s minority health care problem.
None of this means the unaffordable, racist ACA isn’t good for another press release. It would be nice if Pelosi and Biden could get their numbers straight, though. By my count if Pelosi is right we’re still over 22 million uninsured in the hole. Is it my bad math, or are these more health care lies from the Democrats who govern America?
UPDATE November 13, 2021: Biden promises his infrastructure bill won’t cost his subjects a dime, but he doesn’t mention Section 13002.
If you don’t mention something in hopes that the listener doesn’t know about it, does that make you a liar? Politicians are really, really good at doing this. President Biden is no exception.
You’ve probably heard that only a small portion of the Democrat Party’s infrastructure bill pays for what we poor, uninformed Americans usually associate with infrastructure. Any good Democrat and the handful of foolhardy Republicans who voted for this mess will tell you that wildlife crossing safety, vulnerable road user research, traffic calming techniques, a carbon reduction program, and a Healthy Streets program to deal with air quality and urban heat islands are really about bricks, mortar, potholes, and steel. These things will make your day to day life better. You can count on it. Just don’t read the bill too closely.
Not spending on roads and bridges is what expected, of course, but there is something even more sinister going on.
During his infrastructure victory lap Biden promised dimwitted Americans who don’t understand economic jargon:
And this bill is fiscally responsible. That’s a fancy way of saying it’s fully paid for.56
He reiterated:
And it’s paid for by making sure that the wealthiest Americans, the biggest corporations begin to pay their fair share.57
At this point someone should have told him to stop, but he kept going:
And so — and keep my campaign commitment: It does not raise a single penny in tax for anyone making less than $400,000 a year. Say it again: Folks, no matter what they tell you, you’re going to find out this will not affect your taxes one little bit in having to pay a penny more if you make less than $400,000 a year.58
What about Section 13002’s mileage tax pilot program?
Section 13002 of the infrastructure bill establishes the Democrats’ National Motor Vehicle Per-Mile User Fee Pilot program “to demonstrate a national motor vehicle per-mile user fee.” The provisions span four long, single-spaced pages that among other things establish an advisory board of advocacy groups focused on equity, tribal groups, and owners and operators of toll facilities. In laymen’s terms, this means people who want your money.
Fact-checkers who claim the bill doesn’t contain a mileage tax are correct. It does not, but no one paying attention to Biden administration policies can possibly think that this is not going to turn into a national mileage tax if Democrats stay in power.
There is too much effort going into this pilot program to raise taxes on every American if lawmakers don’t plan to do it. Whether or not they can get away with it depends on who is running Congress when the time comes to pass legislation to make this mileage tax a reality. In the meantime, every time you hear Biden or any other Democrat promise the infrastructure bill will only raise taxes on the wealthy, remember that they are telling the truth with what they hope will become a lie.
UPDATE: November 23, 2021: White House liars explain why you are paying so much more for gas
How can a senior White House official discuss our rising energy prices without once mentioning the Keystone XL pipeline or America’s lost energy independence?
It’s easy. The truth doesn’t matter.
Let’s not forget what President Biden said on his first day in office as he arrogantly canceled Keystone and with it 11,000 jobs:59
The Keystone XL pipeline disserves the U.S. national interest. The United States and the world face a climate crisis.60
Leaving the Keystone XL pipeline permit in place would not be consistent with my Administration’s economic and climate imperatives.61
Apparently higher energy prices that hurt the middle class are completely in line with the White House’s economic and climate imperatives. Do administration officials believe if they inflict enough pain at the pump we will submit to their activist climate agenda, perhaps install solar panels on the roofs of our gas guzzlers?
In a press call today one of these unnamed “Senior Administration Officials” explained the real problem with gas prices:
The increase in gas prices has occurred because global oil supply has not kept pace with global oil demand as the economy has recovered from the pandemic and as countries and companies have held back on supplying oil, and because the declines in oil prices that we have seen have not translated into lower prices at the pump. The President is taking action on both fronts and is committed to using every tool as needed.62
Now we get it. It’s not our fault and especially not Joe Biden’s. Fortunately, the White House has faith in OPEC just like it had faith in the Afghanistan Taliban:
You know, the OPEC Plus have said that they are planning to release an additional 400,000 barrels a day, starting in December, and our hope and expectation is that they will continue on that course.63
That’s reassuring.
There was no mention during the call of the Keystone pipeline or the fact that we were energy independent thanks to Donald Trump before Biden got his hands on our country. Relying on other countries to produce our oil so radical climate progressives can control our energy resources not only endangers our economy and security, it makes Biden a hypocrite. Why should America expect other nations to destroy their environments on our behalf so Democrats can score votes with the radical left for protecting ours?
UPDATE November 26, 2021: employment up, unemployment claims down, and Pelosi’s jobs spending sure sounds like governing with lies
Few cities demonstrate how Democrats ruin everything they get their hands on better than San Francisco with its drugs, crime, homelessness, and squalor.Republicans should set up tours to show Americans what happens when they do something stupid in the voting booth.
During a November 23, 2021 press appearance in San Francisco Nancy Pelosi pushed spending for jobs in Democrats’ infrastructure bill with a promise we’ve heard too many times for too many years:
This is about good-paying jobs for America’s working families.64
Then she got down to what really matters:
It’s about clean air, clean water for our children. It’s about quality of life improvement for families, so they don’t have to spend so much time on the road because of the investments in mass transit, the investments in roads and bridges to make them safer and to facilitate, facilitate transportation.65
She began to go off the rails, crediting Joe Biden’s vision for pushing a trillion dollars of your hard-earned money across the finish line. Then she lapsed into partisan insanity:
we Build Back Better because it’s about equity.66
We knew this all along, of course. The Democrat policy protocol is to take control of a city, state, or our nation, destroy what works, and then demand taxpayers pay more money to fix all the problems they created with their lies.
California shares the spotlight with Democrat-run Nevada as the state with the highest unemployment rate in the nation. Gavin Newsom’s 7.3% jobless rate compares poorly to Republican Ron DeSantis’ 4.6% in Florida.67
Weekly jobless claims are not only down, initial claims for unemployment just hit their lowest level since November 15, 1969.68
This good news can and will be spun, misinterpreted, and lied about by Democrats. Liberal lawmakers wailed and moaned through ever spectacular Trump job report because they don’t care about working class families, middle class families, underserved neighborhoods, or anything else they purport to stand for. This is about governing with lies that put money on their own table. They already know they won’t help working families and in all likelihood will make their lives much worse as the costs of Democrat Party arrogance are passed down after their next tax increase.
Democrats won’t tell the truth about the working class. Here it is.
Pelosi showed her party’s backside when she boasted that working families won’t “have to spend so much time on the road because of the investments in mass transit…” If they can’t afford her state’s highest in the nation gas prices or the cost of a car in the 7.3% jobless Golden State, then she’s absolutely right. Democrats will take the working class out of their cars and drop them at the nearest electric bus stop for that long, depressing ride to the unemployment office.

Your mama says
You’ve got it exactly backwards. Republicans are the lying bullies. Period. The end. Idiot.
Bob Prokop says
Difficult to do without a congressional majority, but with any luck after midterms next year there will be plenty of Republican bullying to make up for the lunacy we’ve suffered from the left.
Thanks for reading, even if I am an idiot.

your one of the un-educated people, could be receiving monies from the SATAN children in washington dc, in other words THE STEALING & LAUNDERING LAIRS CALLED democrats! The above voting for lairs – when TRUTH Meets them in Face- they only know to say bad things bout the REPUBLICANS, more than likely you don’t have a profession other than waiting for the free deposit.
IN REALITY GET YOURSELF SAVED THROUGH JESUS CHRIST, NOT ala he’s SATAN in TRUTH!
FJB says
Nope! Nice try though. The “h” in democrat stands for honesty. Democrats are allergic to facts and think with their asses! No brains at all! Go f*** yourself democrats!
Sean says
False. You’re confused because you think the news is real. The news is not real. In reality, 85% of republican reps are democrats. They’re all lying Satanists who want to destroy America. Hence the wars, destruction of the dollar, the illegal alien invasion, refusing to use our own oil and natural gas. Etc. if you want to live in reality swap out fox and cnn for info wars. Propaganda will trick you and make you sound stupid so avoid the “news”

Such as?
antiobama says
A Republican does anything wrong its all over ythe news even if it is all lies like with Trump this election era. A democratic lies daily and its published as gosphel!! There is no news without truth and the democratic party would self destruct if they had to tell one iota of truth as they are 100% liars, cowards, cheats and thieves!!!
Bob Prokop says
Spot on, antiobama. There is no better proof than their new Inflation Reduction Act. Democrats are so arrogant that they don’t even try to hide the fact that they lied to Americans about the purpose of this bill or what it will accomplish. As you rightly point out, when they lie it’s gospel and anyone who reveals the truth will be denounced and cancelled by Big Tech and their complicit media.
antiobama says
There is no news without truth and the democratic party would self destruct if they had to tell one iota of truth as they are 100% liars, cowards, cheats and thieves!!!
Mea says
When Dems say the violence is part of their agenda. They are telling the truth. They plan on using as much violence to make legal Americans afraid to stand up to them
Bob Prokop says
Exactly right, Mea. All it takes is a liberal dog whistle to get the violent, peaceful protests started. As long as Democrats control Homeland Security, the Justice Department, and the FBI, left-wing domestic terrorists have nothing to worry about.
Faye Witt says
Democrats are the biggest damn liars that ever lived or at least one of the biggest liars but anyway they are big time liars who don’t the meaning of the word truth and honesty, they think we’re fools who believe their lies but not all of us are foolishly enough to believe their lies and they like to feed us a heaping load of their bullshit lies and put blame on anyone and anything that they can put blame on cause that trash isn’t going to take blame for nothing cause it’s easier to put blame on someone else or something else but their favorite person to put blame on is Trump and he’s always been their favorite person to pick on, it isn’t bad enough that they used Covid-19 to do that stupid mail in ballot thing all so they can steal the election away from Trump but then they keep right on with their bullshit cause I think they feel threatened by Trump and I think they always have felt threatened by him especially now, I think they’re scared that Trump might run again in the 2024 election and win and get back in office and they sure don’t want that and I hope Trump does run again and wins because this country needs him back as President and I don’t give a damn what the birdbrains out there think cause they’re no damn better than the trash out there, doing the damage to America cause they support them and vote for them and when they do that, that makes them no better than they are cause they support the garbage doing the damage and to me that’s like a slap in the face cause to me when you support them, it’s like you support anything and everything they do, good or bad so I say” WAKE UP, AMERICA!
Bob Prokop says
Wow! Faye, I think you covered it. I haven’t decided whether they lie because they think we’re too dumb to see through what they say, or because they don’t care what we think. Probably both. As far as Trump is concerned, I wholeheartedly agree. Democrats and sadly, many Republicans are terrified of a leader who won’t play their game of stringing us along, hurting Americans in the process, and doing absolutely nothing to make our country better. Trump got things done and Washington still hates him for showing how worthless and self-interested our elected officials are. The best way for him to end their hate is to be reelected. Afterwards he can’t run again and this will go away.
Jen says
Exactly.
Paul Tollefson says
You’re absolutely right Faye. I live in Washington State where we do mail in voting all the time I am absolutely positive that Washington State enacted disability without the vote of the people so that the Democratic party that enacted it could continually steal the elections year after year after year trying to find something Democrats need to be removed their party should be disbanded based on their willingness to sell our country to foreign interest Joe Biden has proven that but yet the mainline media doesn’t seem to be too interested in checking into it that’s because they know it’s the truth. I don’t
Michael Woods says
What good does it do to point out democrat lies. The GOP won’t do anything about it.
Bob Prokop says
I don’t disagree, Michael. They will hold hearings. They will issue a report. Nothing will come of it because they don’t have the political might and too many in the party don’t want to rock the boat that keeps lawmakers fat and happy.
Paul Tollefson says
You’re not wrong only it will take more than just a majority. Unfortunately most Republicans are so afraid that they won’t stand up to the lying oppressive Democratic regime. This is half of the problem. The other half of the problem is that none of the political individuals Republican and Democrat alike are willing to give up their ability to conduct insider trading based on knowledge that they receive from different committees. Thank you for listening I wish that my thoughts were not the truth.
Bob Prokop says
I wish you were wrong too, Paul, but your comments are spot on. The willingness of the GOP to bend to the will of the Democrat Party is infuriating, including their support of the last omnibus spending package. Democrats know better.
As far as insider trading is concerned, let’s relegate that to the same list as term limits and an earmark ban. The difference between Republicans and Democrats is a lot less than the difference between politicians from either party and the American people. Both know where their money comes from.
Thanks for reading and offering your thoughts.
Bob
