UPDATE October 28, 2022:
President Biden finally tells the truth about Republicans.
Honesty from our government vanished in January 2021. That’s not to say politicians didn’t lie before, but the volume of lies we’ve heard from the White House is stunning, maybe even historic. Let’s be honest: the president has a big problem telling the truth and so do the talking heads who do his bidding. Just yesterday, we were told:
Today, the most common price of gas in America is $3.39 — down from over $5 when I took office. (Applause.)270
Was this another senile slip or a falsehood the president thought he’d get away with? We’ll never know. What we know for certain is that truth in politics is a scarce commodity that’s getting even harder to come by as we approach the midterms.
Americans are optimistic people. We held out hope. 22 months is a long time to wait, but sooner or later it had to happen. Suddenly, at long last, we not only got the truth from Joe Biden, he even credited Republicans for their honesty:
Now, what are Re- — what’s the Republican plan? Well, we don’t have to wonder; they’re actually telling us. They’re being honest about it.271
He was 100% truthful about the Republican plan:
Kevin McCarthy, the Republican Leader in the House, and his fellow MAGA Republicans say their number-one priority — check it out; go online — their number one priority if they win control of the Congress, will be to repeal what we have done.272
Exactly right. To save America we must go back to where Biden and the Democrats started, to a time when America had values that built us up and made us stronger instead of tearing us apart.
Democrats won a chance to test drive their radical, neo-socialist climate agenda. It was an abject disaster. Now it’s time to return power to responsible adults, turn back the clock, and rescue America from the clutches of the radical left nitwits who have dragged us down a predictable path to economic annihilation. Besides, while repealing the White House agenda may be a tragedy for the president’s legacy, families living paycheck to paycheck in this inflationary economy can’t take advantage of the climate perks Democrats offer:
We passed tax credits to help families buy energy-efficient appliances, put solar panels on their homes, help them buy an electric vehicle, weatherize their home — things that are going to save, it’s estimated by the utility companies, an average of $500 a year for the families — and much more if they were to purchase a vehicle.273
When you can’t decide whether to save up to heat your home this winter, put gas in the car, or feed your kids, an electric vehicle and solar panels aren’t likely to be on your shopping list with or without tax credits.
The Republican Plan is pretty simple and straightforward. It’s about repealing what Democrats have done. It’s spelled out in the GOP Commitment to America: a strong economy, a country that’s safe with people who are free of authoritarianism and censorship and where a First Amendment still exists and parents can go to school board meetings without fear. Most important, the GOP plan calls for a government that’s accountable and if we’re lucky, run by leaders who tell the truth every now and then.
There is no such thing as an accountable government run by liars. We’ve tried that since January 2021. Americans and the democracy Democrats claim to value above all things deserve better.

The scary threat in Pelosi’s lie that Republicans are consumed by hate.
In lieu of anything positive to trot out to voters, Nancy Pelosi resorted to seeking praise for the Obama-era Hate Crimes Prevention Act. She used the bill to blast Republicans for “heinous cruelty:”
Yet even as Americans commemorate this monumental step forward, MAGA Republicans remain consumed by hate – obsessed with tormenting LGBTQ children and trafficking in vile, transphobic rhetoric. Disgusted by such heinous cruelty, House Democrats will never relent in our fight to protect Americans’ universal right to safety, dignity and opportunity.274
With the possible exception of abortion, hate is the current favorite word in the Democrat lexicon. Whatever the issue, if it’s not backed by the left and preferably the progressive far left, it has something to do with hate.
What constitutes hate is in the eye of the accuser. Some would argue that abortion and particularly abortion moments before birth is a hateful act. Other would argue that introducing impressionable children to perversity with drag queen shows takes hateful advantage of their innocence, as does promoting puberty-blocking drugs and even surgery for kids too young to understand the potential lifelong consequences.
I would also argue that constantly haranguing the American people about one group of Americans “consumed by hate” is de facto hateful, though Pelosi and her ilk would no doubt tell you that it’s not possible for Democrats to be hateful because they are Democrats and that anyone who says otherwise is – you guessed it – consumed by hate.
The speaker promises:
As we mark today’s anniversary, House Democrats remain committed to forging a brighter future for all of America’s children: building safer communities, saving lives and stamping out hate wherever it appears.275
They have not and will not do any of these things. Our communities aren’t safe. Lives are lost every day to violence and fentanyl, thanks to their open border. As far as stamping out hate is concerned, Pelosi and her party use every opportunity to create more hate to blame on their political opponents.
Worst of all, their plans for a brighter future for our kids includes CRT, sexual grooming, gender reassignment drugs and surgery, and declining test scores. These things are not the products of love or concern or even responsible governing. They are a threat and the products of a word I’ve used enough for this update. Let’s just call it the progressive activist agenda.
UPDATE November 6, 2022:
Patience, Jackass? Democrats never had an honest answer to the single, most important question that might save them from annihilation on Tuesday.
Unless the government can step in and change the price tags on every item in the grocery store, any reasonably intelligent person can see that things are not getting better. Democrats try to lie their way through the obvious, treating Americans like the gullible jackass in the tired old joke about a trek through the desert for water:
While Republicans want to send costs soaring and make working families pay the price, Democrats will always put People Over Politics: lower costs, better-paying jobs and safer communities for all.
If this is true, what happened?
That damning bit of gaslighting was from Nancy Pelosi who, like the president, wants us to believe her instead of this morning’s grocery bill. She begs us to ask if putting People Over Politics is responsible for our pain or if Democrats put politics over people instead. The only conclusion we can draw is that Democrats chose the latter and failed miserably to do anything except advance activist priorities some of which, like transgender transitioning of children and releasing violent criminals from jail, are on the far outer reaches of tolerance for even the most devoted lefty.
The truth still exists. It speaks for itself.
Threats about what Republicans might do are empty and meaningless. The truth is that Democrats already sent costs soaring. It’s over and done with. What might happen is irrelevant. The pain dished out by the Democrat Party and its barely functioning, cognitively impaired president is very real. Telling us that things are great, inflation is zero, life is about to get even better, and abortion, genital mutilation, and destroying our most reliable source of energy is what we should really care about makes all but the most jaded Democrat voter angry and ready to throw these self-interested bums out on Tuesday.
No one appreciates being treated like the titular jackass in the joke. Our lives are not better. We have no reason to believe the lies and ongoing con game that demands we believe they are. Democrats are about to pay the same hefty price that Americans have ever since their party and president sealed our fate in January 2021.
On Wednesday morning, they can finally share in our pain and answer a new question: how does it feel?

Sore loser? Pelosi’s organization has epic meltdown against McCarthy.
Just two days after the president made a transparent appeal to insert a little decency in our national conversation, Nancy Pelosi’s organization chose a different approach. The speaker’s spokesperson doubled down and attacked Pelosi’s likely replacement in a surprisingly hateful, scorched earth press release that gives us a pretty good indication of how she feels about Republican prospects after the midterm elections.
The excuse was a letter from likely successor Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) requesting that the People’s House be reopened after being restricted for over two and a half years (973 days, to be exact). Pelosi spokesperson Drew Hammill responded with this:
The Minority Leader’s incoherent letter is nothing more than a desperate attempt to distract from the unmitigated disaster that was his party’s performance in the midterm election – one that only looks worse as ballots continue to get counted,” Hammill said.277
We’re beyond the point of lying about the midterm results. Republicans are gradually widening their House majority while a handful of states drag their heels counting votes and add to doubts about the sanctity of an election that looks like a big loss for Democrats no matter how they try to rationalize it.
Hammill did Pelosi’s dirty work:
Now, after bungling the election, the Minority Leader would rather intimidate the professionals who run the House than get to work on the issues that voters just told us are on their minds.278
Despite the president declaring the pandemic over, the speaker’s office claims we’re still on a “path to normal” and taking “science-based steps” to make the People’s House available to We, the People who own it. Then Hammill pushed the envelope with a Big Lie about Republican complicity on January 6, calling the riot:
a deadly insurrection provoked by his [McCarthy’s] personal hero and broadly supported by his conference.279
Assuming Pelosi is willing to accept the final election results and hands over her beloved gavel on schedule, we can look forward to a little more of that honor, decency, and respect Joe Biden promised us has already begun. Americans don’t need lies and hateful rhetoric from our highest elected officials or the people they hire to say the things they don’t want to be held accountable for. Relegating Pelosi to humbling, minority leader status will be a welcome first step towards quieting Capitol Hill’s angry tone, unless we get lucky and the loss of face motivates her to step away for good.
The vote count shows we’ve had enough of the speaker and her lies and outbursts which will only get more heated as the results of this election become crystal clear. Good riddance. Americans have had enough.
November 16, 2022:
It’s time for Biden’s Border Liar to face the music.
An obviously pleased Joe Biden offered a nod to the democratic process after last week’s midterm elections were less than catastrophic for his party:
But with their votes, the American people have spoken and proven once again that democracy is who we are.280
A functioning democracy doesn’t depend on the Democrat Party hanging on to power. It’s about the will of the people and no matter what Biden says, when it comes to the border his administration is laughing in the people’s face.
According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform, 62% of “voters favor strong action to secure our border and remove illegal aliens…”281 Biden doesn’t care. His Great Replacement is well underway, backed by a political left that accuses anyone who suggests this is his plan of being a racist and white supremacist.
The House Committee on Oversight and Reform had harsh words about the border meltdown in a November 2, 2022 letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas:
Fiscal Year 2022 was an abject failure for border security and national sovereignty. In fact, it was the worst on record in American history.
The letter describes the apprehension of over 2.2 million illegals in FY 2022 with an untold number released into the U.S. and even more evading the Border Patrol entirely.
I doubt that anyone is surprised by this after many months of the Biden Administration mocking Americans with its lie that the border is secure and appointment of do-nothing Kamala Harris as our “Border Czar.” As the Oversight Committee points out:
The Biden Administration refuses to acknowledge this current, unprecedented and deadly crisis. Vice President Harris even claims that the border is ‘secure’ and insists that ‘[w]e have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration.’ This is simply not true,” continued the Republican lawmakers.“282
In testimony before the House Committee on Homeland Security yesterday, DHS Secretary Mayorkas took credit for his border security efforts:
We are matching the unprecedented migration challenge we face with unprecedented and innovative solutions to secure the border. We are surging resources and increasing efficiency, 17 prioritizing smart border security solutions, making historic investments in technology, taking the fight to cartels and smugglers, and doing more with our regional partners than ever before.283
If Mayorkas believes what he says and his ridiculous lie that the border is secure, then he should be fired for incompetence. If he does not believe his own words, then he is a liar who betrayed the American people and deserves to be impeached. Instead, when a federal judge threw out Trump’s Title 42 the DHS secretary used the opportunity to rub our noses in another administration border victory with this statement:
The United States will continue to fully enforce our immigration laws at our border.284
If you aren’t convinced this is true and are tired of playing games over the meanings of “secure” and “enforce our immigration laws” while illegals and fentanyl invade our country, then it’s time to contact your Republican representative before the new Congress takes over in January and demand that this shameless hack be removed. We’re used to less than competent Biden Administration officials, but Mayorkas has been around the block a few times. He knows exactly what he is doing and laughs in our face every time he talks about immigration.
Alejandro Mayorkas is an affront to every citizen who believes our country should not be given away to anyone who walks across the border demanding that Americans improve their lives. Biden and the Democrats think this is in their own best interest, but it’s not in ours and we, the people are the only thing that matters.

As far as Trump is concerned, I wholeheartedly agree. Democrats and sadly, many Republicans are terrified of a leader who won’t play their game of stringing us along, hurting Americans in the process, and doing absolutely nothing to make our country better. Trump got things done and Washington still hates him for showing how worthless and self-interested our elected officials are. The best way for him to end their hate is to be reelected. I wish you were wrong too, Paul, but your comments are spot on. The willingness of the GOP to bend to the will of the Democrat Party is infuriating, including their support of the last omnibus spending package. Democrats know better.
As far as insider trading is concerned, let’s relegate that to the same list as term limits and an earmark ban. The difference between Republicans and Democrats is a lot less than the difference between politicians from either party and the American people. Both know where their money comes from.
