At the beginning of the summer Attorney General Sessions announced the National Public Safety Partnership as a way to funnel even more federal crime-fighting money to violent cities. The program is a carrot for those that choose to fall in line with Trump administration policies on criminal aliens. Denying federal funds is the stick for places where big city values collide with … [Read more...] about Public Safety Violated by Risky Big City Values
Immigration
In the immigration category you will find posts about the failure of our government to enforce the law and the consequences of doing nothing while holding out for a sweeping immigration amnesty juggernaut that Democrats and Republicans will never be able to agree on.
Federal Government spends while Biden lures illegals over the border
Few things showcase the insanity of our partisan immigration policies better than the Biden administration's wide open border that hands America to anyone who makes the journey. Meanwhile, states and sanctuary cities pass out driver's licenses for illegals,, resident college tuition and financial aid, and assurances of protection from law enforcement that promise a better life in America funded by taxpayers.
Fairness, justice, and hypocrisy
Immigration reform is not about fairness or justice. If it was, we would not be arguing over welfare for illegals or protecting Americans with legislation like Kate’s Law and bills to reign in dangerous immigrants. This contentious issue has turned into a debate over opposites: how much can the left dole out to curry favor with immigrant special interests and how much of the right’s push to close our gates is just?
Kate’s Law Vote: H.R. 3004 Separates Americans from Politicians
There are no Democratic cosponsors to H.R. 3004, but the House vote that gave approval to Kate's Law shows that at least 24 Dems are willing to publicly place Americans first and illegal aliens second. That's not the case for most of their colleagues. Party politics came first when House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley (D-NY) came out against the bill: Kate’s Law … [Read more...] about Kate’s Law Vote: H.R. 3004 Separates Americans from Politicians
Cost to Taxpayers for No Wall is Obedience to Democrats
What do a death row inmate and a Democrat have in common? When the end is near they do unexpected things. Killers find God. Desperate Democrats worry about spending too much. That’s the kind of absurdity we are faced with as Congress fights over the Trump wall. The cost to taxpayers is suddenly a worry for Capitol Hill spenders who usually regard Americans as a convenience to … [Read more...] about Cost to Taxpayers for No Wall is Obedience to Democrats
RAC Act: Republican Amnesty for Children is Still Wrong
At first I thought the Recognizing America’s Children Act (“RAC”) was a Democratic ploy to keep DACA alive in case President Trump and Jeff Sessions turned their attention to deferred action. Not so. H.R. 1468 is a GOP creation. It’s what a Republican amnesty bill looks like. The RAC Act reads a lot like DACA and has something in common: it talks about children but the people … [Read more...] about RAC Act: Republican Amnesty for Children is Still Wrong
Illegal Reentry: Deported Aliens Can’t Be Kept Out?
Is there a better reason to build a border wall than the data on illegal reentry of deported aliens? The numbers are going down, but that didn't stop 15,744 individuals from being convicted of illegal reentry in 2016. 97.7% were sentenced to prison for an average of 14 months.1 We can’t stop deported aliens from coming back to the U.S. That means taxpayers are punished for … [Read more...] about Illegal Reentry: Deported Aliens Can’t Be Kept Out?
