Government Ethics

When the ends justify the means government ethics is an anachronism. Classic abuses like corruption in office are difficult to ignore and are usually punished sooner or later. A noteworthy exception is the Democrat Party's successful stonewalling of James Comer's investigation into Joe and Hunter Biden's alleged influence peddling schemes and compromise by China and Ukraine.

The worst kinds of unethical behavior are the ones we never see. They undermine what America stands for and what we value. Examples are political rhetoric that distorts the truth, pandering to big money donors, and selecting special interests for legislative favoritism.
All of these things point to how government ethics falls by the wayside when opportunity knocks at the offices of self-serving politicians.

Thanks to Elon Musk and the Trump administration's DOGE initiative, taxpayers finally have some insight into where our money is going. The news is not good. Democrats are furious at having their pants pulled down over covert funding of their radical priorities spread throughout our massive federal bureaucracy.

What is the Government Ethics category about?

The government ethics category is about what happens when political agenda takes precedence over what Americans value. From propaganda to fake new politics to outright thievery, if there is money and power to be had government ethics will be an inconvenience for politicians who place themselves above the best interests of the people.

Opioid Drug Epidemic a Crisis as Dangerous as Driving

Opioid drug epidemic: fentanyl. Courtesy Drug Enforcement Administration.

Baby Boomers are still getting over their scorched retinas and flashbacks. We’ve been through the ups and down of America’s fondness for meth, which means when you get a cold you have to sign your name to feel better. Marijuana was the bane of our youth. Now it’s quasi-legal, taxable fun. In 2017 the drug crisis of choice is a difficult to spell catchall for narcotic pain … [Read more...] about Opioid Drug Epidemic a Crisis as Dangerous as Driving

Fake Politics Spreads Alternative Facts Better Than News

Maria relief. Are accusations of minuscule relief fake politics? FEMA/Yulsa Rios.

There is fake news and then there is fake politics. Anyone who trusts the news puts their beliefs at risk. News is entertainment. We should regard it with suspicion no matter where it comes from. Fake politics is more insidious and damaging. The more cynical among us have learned never to trust a politician no matter how much we want to believe what they say. Others are so … [Read more...] about Fake Politics Spreads Alternative Facts Better Than News

Treason is serious business. It’s so serious the government can kill you for it. Just dropping the word like Democrats are doing now shows how far witch hunters are willing to wallow. Remember to thank them for showing the world that when it comes to foreign affairs the U.S. is innocent, naïve, and stupid. How did a superpower get to this sorry place? Ask our last … [Read more...] about Innocent, Naïve, or Stupid? U.S. Shocked by Global Treachery

How to Read the Bill So Congress Can’t Lie To You About It

Did anyone read the bill? Obama signature on Affordable Care Act. Official White Photo by Chuck Kennedy.

Congress proposes lots of bills. It gives House and Senate members something to do when they aren’t busy putting on a circus like their Russian snipe hunt. We hear about bills when they are important enough to stand a chance of becoming law and especially when they punch a hot button. Some of the hype is true. Much of it isn’t. How do you know what to believe? When you hear … [Read more...] about How to Read the Bill So Congress Can’t Lie To You About It

Attack on Americans by Foreigners Forces House Agreement

Obama immigration policies set the stage for continuing attack on Americans. Graphic courtesy obamawhitehousearchives.gov.

Two recent events raise questions about what an attack on Americans means. How should we respond when foreigners accost us on our own soil? The answer is that it depends on who the foreigners are and how much political value they have. What we learned is that foreigners from south of the border can do pretty much what they want. Politicians who make the rules will bend over … [Read more...] about Attack on Americans by Foreigners Forces House Agreement
