Americans deserve the same freedoms Biden and the Democrats grant to illegals.
What’s happening along America’s southern border is reprehensible. Using our tax dollars to ship the proceeds of Joe Biden’s immigration policies around the country just rubs salt into the wound. Not only have Biden and the Democrats subverted representative government by refusing to enforce immigration laws, they deny citizens the same privileges and freedoms granted to illegals with no questions asked.
Last week Obama leftover and Biden DHS Chief Alexandro Mayorkas made it clear that being in the country illegally is not an issue illegals should worry about:
Unlawful presence in the United States will alone not be a basis for an immigration enforcement action but rather, we will allocate our efforts, we will allocate our resources on those individuals who present a current public safety threat, a threat to national security, or a threat to our border security, and that is a very important principle.
And it is not just a matter of the appropriate allocation of limited resources but it is a matter of justice and fairness and equity as well.183
Mayorkas didn’t clarify what he means by justice and fairness and equity for foreign nationals from all around the world who are taking advantage of Biden’s lawless, wide open borders. Does equity mean that citizens of less wealthy countries who arrive here illegally should be treated better with more freedom than our government allows Americans?
It certainly seems that way.
The Biden Administration’s utter lack of transparency makes it impossible for us to know how many illegals have been welcomed in, where they went, who they are, and how much their care and feeding will cost us. More important is the lack of justice and fairness to citizens who are denied the same privileges and freedoms granted to illegals. In many cities we can do nothing outside of our homes without proving we are vaccinated. Illegals can enter the country without the testing, vaccine, and quarantine regulations citizens and legal travelers from other countries are subjected to despite reports “that thousands of COVID-positive illegal migrants have been released into border towns throughout the country.”184
Planning a trip? Don’t forget your arrest warrant.
Boarding a plane with an arrest warrant for ID would be unthinkable for a citizen, but it’s not an issue for illegals.185 The government doesn’t put us on planes or buses or in taxis for free, either. It doesn’t pay for hotel rooms. It doesn’t propose offering parents who are locked up for breaking the law $450,000 apology payments because they were separated from their kids.
Americans go to prison for engaging in human trafficking. Biden’s policies encourage foreign traffickers by making the crime more profitable than ever and giving smugglers a legitimate, reliable destination for their human cargo. If they want to bring in a little fentanyl too, so much the better for their margin.
About those COVID tests, Joe.
Now we also know that while Americans struggled with the Biden economy and pandemic the White House diverted American Rescue Plan funds for the care and feeding of illegals while citizens slept on the streets of our big cities. The funds included money targeted for COVID-19 testing, another massive Biden failure.
I could go on, but I think you get the point. Americans will never see the same pandering solicitude extended to illegal immigrants by Democrats hoping to secure their political support in perpetuity. Illegals no doubt believe they have finally arrived in the land of the free. If they speak any English they should ask a few Americans who have had their freedoms cancelled by COVID-obsessed Democrats how that freedom works in practice and how easy it is to take it away.

Liberal oppression from Democrats took away our freedoms. Will we get used to it?
There is an old joke about hanging. You get used to anything when it lasts long enough. It’s not a joke if we get comfortable being oppressed. How easy will it be to forget the freedoms we lost one after another as liberal tyranny becomes the norm?
Democrats are lying when they talk about protecting democracy. They know authoritarianism is their ticket to absolute power. Two years ago no one would have believed it possible that businesses could be shuttered, schools closed, mask wearing enforced by law, out of state visitors profiled, and vaccine edicts issued because of a disease from China that kills a small fraction of those it infects. All of these restrictions on our freedom quickly became normal in cities and states controlled by Democrats. In many places they have not gone away.
Your obedience matters. Your freedom does not.
Whether it’s Nancy Pelosi’s stock trading or Democrat governors like Gavin Newsom and Gretchen Whitmer ignoring their own COVID rules the message is clear: the American people exist to pay taxes and obey Democrats who make the rules but are too wealthy and privileged to obey them.
What does this mean for your freedom as an American? Everything that conflicts with prevailing liberal political dictates is banned. Dissenters are removed from public media platforms, harassed, intimidated, and even attacked as racists and white supremacists.
The failings of liberal left politicians and our president are ignored or lied about outright.
Where does this leave you and the freedoms you used to enjoy?
COVID-19 oppression is not going away.
Thank the Chinese Communist Party for the best thing that ever happened to the Democrat Party. The China virus empowered cities, states, and the Federal Government to impose unprecedented restrictions on our freedom.
COVID-19 mandates are never going way even when they make no sense. The freedoms Democrats deny us every time a new surge begins will never return either, until they oppressors are kicked out of office for good.
Rampant crime restricts the right of Americans to fully live their lives.
Where is this most evident? In the disadvantaged communities Democrats take credit for supporting.
Wealthy liberal politicians don’t have to worry. They don’t live in violent, crime-ridden neighborhoods so they deny protection to citizens to placate brain-dead activists while paying fantastic sums to keep themselves safe from the problems they cause.
First Amendment? What First Amendment?
Liberals brought us stupid, mindless cancel culture. It spread like a lethal poison and now governs our freedom of speech in all public forums.
The First Amendment used to protect everything except blatant hate speech. Now everything that doesn’t promote the leftist narrative IS hate speech.
Violent offenders and illegal immigrants are more important to the Democrat narrative than our freedom to live in a just society.
Liberal criminal justice is about race and political affiliation, not justice or keeping people safe. That’s why we have open borders, no cash bail laws, slashed police budgets, emptied jails, and DAs who refuse to prosecute or even acknowledge crimes committed by offenders of color.
How long will it take to forget the freedoms Democrats took away from you?
As time passes and Democrat politicians enforce liberal oppression and outright tyranny how long will it take for our memories to fade of what life used to be like pre-COVID and George Floyd? It’s easy to wait for the next big election win to bring back everything we’ve lost, even when that victory never comes because the Democrat Party also took away our free and honest elections. All that’s left is to resign ourselves to life under liberal authoritarian rule and never regaining the freedoms we lost.

It’s not about the masks. It’s the coercive, arbitrary use of power by ruling Democrats who took our freedoms away.
After two years of historic hubris Democrats are suddenly afraid of the future. They should be. We’re used to living with COVID. Oppressing Americans with fear and threats doesn’t work anymore. Worse, we are tired of being told what to do by people whose public health dictates ring hollow and who don’t even have the decency to hold themselves to the same standards they impose on the taxpayers who pay their salaries.
Unprecedented oppression can only last so long in a country that prides itself on the freedom of the individual. No matter how many times Democrats abuse the word “democracy” as if this jaded term still has some meaning, no one believes what they threaten anymore. It’s over.
With elections on the way blue state mayors and governors are caving one after another. Mandates are dropping like flies despite case counts that in many places exceed what we saw when the shutdowns began. It’s tempting to treat the repeals as some sort of victory for freedom, but masks aren’t the issue. They never were. The issue is the arbitrary, coercive use of government power by Democrats to take away our freedoms using progressive politics for guidance.
Did Democrats think we would believe that outdoor Trump rallies were super spreader events while BLM riots were COVID-safe, peaceful outdoor protests? Are the unwashed masses who vote for progressives too naïve to know that you are less likely to contract this virus at an outdoor San Francisco homeless encampment than inside, maskless at an exclusive restaurant or glitzy fundraiser?
The mask mandates are a minor symptom of the arrogance that dooms Democrat Party elites faced with the political consequences of their anti-freedom agenda. In fact, masks are the least destructive part of their progressive, anti-democratic orthodoxy. History will not be kind when it reflects on the hypocrisy Democrats dumped on the American people to grow their power.
They tell us that January 6 rioters should be locked up and the keys discarded, yet BLM looters and arsonists deserve leniency and even accolades for making their case against America.
Parents who attend school board meetings and voice their opinions are threatened, intimidated, and even dragged away by authorities, but our government considered offering illegal immigrant parents who endangered their children to come to the U.S. $450,000 apology payments because we enforced the law.
Americans who aren’t vaccinated are threatened with job loss. Democrat mayors passed regulations to shut these people out of society, but illegals who aren’t vaccinated are welcomed with open arms, get the keys to our country, and can even board commercial air flights with only an arrest warrant for ID.
Those of us who exercise our First Amendment right to disagree with the government have our public voices silenced wherever possible despite threats from the Biden administration’s Homeland Security Department that what we say might get us in trouble:
The United States remains in a heightened threat environment fueled by several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis- dis- and mal-information (MDM) introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors. These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence.186
MDM, not mask mandates is the real problem. What constitutes mis-, dis-, and mal-information is in the eyes of ruling progressive Democrat Party elites who have their own shabby history of spreading falsehoods. When a political narrative targets information and is enforced by threats and intimidation we have no First Amendment rights. We have no freedom. We have no democracy either, but wasn’t that the goal all along?
UPDATE February 20, 2022:
Democrats and their unions will enlist your kids to take your freedoms away.
The simple reason why unions don’t want the school mask mandate to end.
It’s over for now. Case counts are plummeting. The positivity rate here in Illinois is 3.1%. Most of us will be thankful to ditch Governor Pritzker’s indoor mask mandate at the end of the month.
What about your kids?
An Illinois appellate court ruling gave schools the green light to make their own masking decisions while the governor takes the case to the state Supreme Court to make sure those masks stay firmly in place. As the Illinois Policy Institute points out, if Pritzker prevails Illinois will join a minority of 10 other states that still enforce masking in schools.”187
That’s a lot of legal effort considering the state positivity rate will continue to decline and children are the least likely group to be impacted by this virus.
Unfortunately for Chicago Public School kids, the all-powerful Chicago Teachers Union calls the shots. The CTU was quick to point out that the court ruling did not apply because the union has an “enforceable safety agreement with Mayor Lightfoot’s CPS team” that “guarantees masking.”188
If the union really feared for kids they would at least require that N95 or KN95 masks be worn, as other types of masks aren’t shown to be effective against the omicron variant. This is not the case any more than the plunging positivity rate impacts the union’s stance. Why?
COVID-19 handed unions that control our schools an unprecedented opportunity to flex their muscle. The CTU showed the city of Chicago who is in charge of public schools and what happens when we don’t submit to union demands. Masks drive the point home, but they are not what this is about.
There is a nationwide trend to kick parents out of public education to make way for radical left instruction. The left is all about regimentation and control, so masks are an ideal first step in the indoctrination process.
The House Republican Committee on Education and Labor warns:
When the protection of children is left to the education establishment and teachers unions, we get school closures, obscene books in school libraries, Critical Race Theory-inspired curriculum in classrooms, and worse education outcomes. Clearly, the education oligarchy has no intention of putting students first—that’s where parents come in. Parents are a student’s best advocates.189
The goal of the left is to kick these advocates out of education once and for all. The end game is obvious:
An attack on parental rights is an attack on self-government and freedom.190
The earlier unions reeducate kids away from their parents’ values, the better to control how they think. Big labor is making a herculean effort to be in charge of what your kids know and to limit your input into the decision-making process. This is not a plan for better education. This is a political strategy to create a new generation of left-leaning voters enslaved to the Democrat Party mindset.
Unions and Democrats will eventually construct a two-tiered education system. Families that can’t afford anything better will get public schools and a leftist, anti-American curriculum. Parents who understand the poison being disseminated by radical left educators will find a way to homeschool or shell out for private education.
Whether it’s critical race theory masked as something else or anti-conservative indoctrination, unions are in league with the Democrat Party to raise the next generation of voters. If you don’t keep an eye on what your children are learning they are likely to be the ones who will help the party take away your freedoms in the years to come in the name of making America a better place.

People do not understand how the Democrats and the Obama administration are slowly strangling the very freedoms that the Revolution was fought for. The facts are clear when you see the Constitution being trampled on by Obama, and then realize that he could not pass a gun owner background check, which is why he has sealed “ALL” of his records.
If congress were to pass any new legislation on background checking it must include the requirement that “ALL” politicians running for public office must “PASS” those requirements or be disqualified.
As it stands right now, Obama could not ” PASS” a standard FBI check from the details that were written in his book, which is why his certification was challenged. The judges that had cases before them refused to hear the arguments and thusly dismissed those cases. What gutless wonders we have in the justice system including the Supreme Court.
Obama is tearing our nation apart. and he is banking on the ignorant that don’t pay attention. obama has a shady past and i am not convinced that he is a true citizen of the united states. If you vote democrat you are voting to end america as a freedom country. Obama is taking it all away and people are not paying attention. when it’s gone and you are under the control of a dictator you will wish you had paid attention. but this country has been under attack before obama but now it’s speeded up so much it will be a miracle if we can keep it

I agree, it’s pretty amazing that no matter how bad things are or how misguided the actions of public officials, they still manage to convince people to support what they do. Watch what happens in the Illinois governor’s race next week. If Pat Quinn wins, it’s a pretty good sign that we are truly lost.

Interesting how some of what’s happening now at the hands of government could be considered unjust aggression, like the searches they conducted in Rhode Island looking for New Yorkers. It’s difficult to know where to draw the line between government overreach and the public interest, but that was quite a line to cross.
