I received an invitation from my local library to hear a professor talk about how our new president will bridge the divide in our polarized nation. Like COVID-19, there’s a lot of this going around. The Biden presidency is just weeks away. Democrats will scrub Donald Trump’s legacy from America. We will all join hands. The sun will finally come out.
Are we on the precipice of the second coming? Is Joe Biden America’s new messiah?
Are we stupid?
Until now there was no room for optimism in the Democratic Party’s dark winter, cancelled holidays, loneliness, isolation, and death. Demoralizing America was more important. It has a massive political payoff for Democrats. That’s why they pursued this policy from empty classrooms to distanced families to the shuttered mom and pop diner down your street.
This wasn’t enough so they also spent 2020 cleaning history from our national memory and waging a propaganda war accusing America of being a haven for white racists. Why? Because American values are so at odds with the party’s base that they have to tear our country to pieces before they can rebuild it in their own dangerously flawed image.
Democrats don’t understand that no amount of misplaced optimism when Biden takes over can possibly make up for what they’ve done. They went all-out to destroy our nation’s morale during the worst year most of us can remember, a year so bad that for many reliving the Obama-era financial meltdown would be a relief. Arrogance convinces them that we will forget and move on even though many Americans question the legitimacy of Biden’s election win and worry we now have a semi-lucid flunky for China taking over the White House.
Jeffries: brighter days are ahead
Divisive House Democratic Caucus Chair Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) wants to move on. Meanwhile he continues his attacks against Trump while fellow Democrats refuse to compromise on a badly needed relief bill:
But because of the absence of leadership and because of the inability or unwillingness of the president to unite the country, as was done during World War II to confront a common enemy, we find ourselves as Americans having to endure unprecedented levels of pain and suffering and death.1
His conclusion?
But brighter days are ahead.2
The truth is that Democrats have no reason to rush a relief bill now because they won the election. They don’t want Trump to be part of any solution. Americans who lost everything in Democrat-dictated shutdowns with little to show for it except more suffering are collateral damage they will blame on Republicans and Trump.
Words are just words. People remember when those in positions of power do nothing to help when they have the means and responsibility to do it.
Pelosi: fun drugs and climate change come first
After the House passed a sweeping marijuana bill on December 4, 2020 Nancy Pelosi stumped for the Paris Climate Agreement:
Shamefully, the Trump Administration spent four years systematically undermining this historic agreement, abandoning American leadership and refusing to acknowledge the science or lift a finger to combat this growing threat.3
Those of us who still have real jobs in the real world know that priorities come first. Pandering to climate activists who voted for your party while America suffers is not a priority.
Demoralizing America is not an accident. It’s a policy.
Pain. Fear. Suffering. Darkness. Death. This is what Democrats hung over our heads until they got what they wanted: a ruined economy to pin on the president and an election victory to bring socialism to America. Watching our country fall into the hands of half-bright liberals who value identity politics more than our national identity is torment for those of us who actually care about what happens to America.
The push to demoralize America defined 2020 liberal politics. Democrats made sure that the national conversation directed hate at anyone who disagreed with their demands no matter how radical. When riots and violence spread they insisted we defund the police. They spread disinformation and lies about the president’s racism, treason, betrayal, and alleged criminal behavior that changed not only how Americans view America, but how the world sees us.
It wasn’t enough for Democrats to paint Trump a racist so they included the whole of America in the bargain.
The worst thing about this is that the Democratic Party proved it is more than willing to destroy our national morale to advance itself. These are not your father’s Democrats. This is the Democratic Party that China will applaud and Russia will embrace, a party that weakens us from within with a damaging, dangerous ideology based on activist falsehoods about what’s wrong with our country and our people.
This plan to create a divided, miserable, demoralized nation has a tremendous political payoff for the party, not the least of which is beating Americans down in hopes we will agree to be led like hopeless sheep to the slaughter in January.
Making sure Americans impacted by the pandemic are broke and desperate was the perfect place to start.
Demoralized, broke, and ready for Biden
This pandemic will never be so severe that Democrats can’t play games by sounding agreeable while they withhold the relief taxpayers already paid for:
This [relief] legislation would bolster our public health and economic response to COVID-19 to help us get through the long, cold, dark winter ahead.
Democrats and Republicans won’t get everything they want, but we need to come together and put politics aside.4
There’s that cold, dark winter again. Nancy Pelosi showed us how she sets politics aside to do the right thing:
Leader McConnell’s efforts to undermine good-faith, bipartisan negotiations are appalling.
“What does Leader McConnell have against our heroes? Our health care workers, our first responders and other frontline workers have risked their lives to save lives.5
We might ask the speaker what she has against the American people and why she puts recreational drugs before coronavirus relief, but what’s the point? Suffering is a bargaining chip, something to leverage and celebrate. It’s not anything Democrats will lose sleep over. Remember, this is the woman who flaunted her expensive ice cream habit while unemployed Americans worried about buying food.
Demoralizing America six different ways
California Republican Rep. Tom McClintock adroitly summarized the left’s greatest achievement of 2020:
An evil tendency and an evil design are exactly what the radical left has reintroduced into our society. And it is tearing us apart.6
How much progressive darkness, sickness, hatred, and death can we take? How many ways have Democrats demoralized this country and left the American people despondent about the future?
Consider:
1. They proved they can get away with shutting down businesses, schools, and restaurants arbitrarily and capriciously with devastating consequences while stories poured in of politicians ignoring their own public health rules. It’s not that we don’t understand that the pandemic was used to oppress the unwashed masses, but it is still incredibly demoralizing to see the results of these shutdowns, watch them continue or expand, and know that no help is on the way because politics comes first.
2. Domestic terror from the radical left was encouraged by Democratic mayors. They cast a blind eye to insurrection that destroyed businesses that are the lifeblood of urban economies and were already imperiled by shutdowns when the George Floyd activist riots struck. Business owners were left with two options: leave or go out of business. Neither helped the people who depended on them for jobs. Nothing demoralizes like being unemployed and hungry.
3. The vaccines that will put an end to this pandemic will roll out amidst criticisms about everything from racial disparities to safety questions because they were developed under Trump. Can Democrats reverse their negative PR in time for the incoming administration to take credit for doing nothing? Ask Kamala Harris. She bears responsibility for scaring people away from these lifesaving shots during her election campaign because it was another excuse to tell Americans not to trust Trump.
Democrats make sure illegals get their vaccine just like you
48 Democratic lawmakers just sent a letter to Health and Human Services and the CDC using politics to demand that the rollout be free of politics. How? By ensuring that illegal immigrants receive the vaccine just like citizens without fear of their identity information being used against them. 7
This also means that with vaccinations in short supply illegals will be on the same list to get their shot as you and me until Joe Biden waves his magic immigration wand. After that the distinction between “American citizen” and “illegal immigrant” will be academic, at best.
4. The Trump-Russia scandal was a hoax. Now the Biden administration will start with a real scandal on its hands. It looks to be a good one. If Democrats win the Senate it will be ignored just like the Hunter Biden story that got the ball rolling was covered up despite the demoralizing impact of proving that only negative information about one party’s candidate is worth reporting.
5. Our holidays are not what they used to be. Thanksgiving gatherings were a death sentence. Christmas won’t be any better and as RedState reports, it also offends some in liberal officialdom. This isn’t an accident. Cracking down on houses of worship while liquor stores and pot shops remain open tarnished a First Amendment already under fire by radical leftists who believe that violence and looting are a legitimate expression of our constitutional rights.
6. If you are a white American you are also privileged racist scum who needs fixing.
Anti-racist, white privilege training seems like it came out of the Mao playbook. We’re not building white internment camps yet, though that would probably happen if radical Democrats had the power to force a national reprogramming.
Instead of addressing the failure of the Obama-Democratic Party health care system to repair disparities in minority communities, Kamala Harris introduced the “COVID-19 Bias and Anti-Racism Training Act.” Harris’ bill proposed that we help health care workers strained by the pandemic with partisan opportunism:
The COVID-19 Bias and Anti-Racism Training Act would help healthcare providers, state and local public health departments, and health professional schools to implement or improve bias and anti-racism training for health care professionals working on the COVID-19 response.8
Democrats blasted the Trump administration for rising unemployment and an appalling COVID-19 death toll. At the same time they claimed that anti-bias training is what the American people really care about:
It is profoundly disappointing but not surprising that the Trump administration is out of touch with what’s important to the American people and wants to terminate the federal government’s efforts to root-out institutional racism through anti-bias training.9
“Root out” is a disturbing choice of words.
Hate mongering over systemic racism and white privilege is incredibly demoralizing for a country that learned from its history but will never be forgiven because politicians know there is incredible power in leveraging racial differences and resurrecting past hurts. Perhaps that’s why it is so important to cover up our history and start over where we left off before the Civil War.
Laws based on lies are demoralizing. We can’t stop them.
In obvious anticipation of winning the Senate, extremist Democrats in the House jumped the gun and introduced the Roadmap to Freedom Resolution on December 11, 2020:
a bold, progressive vision for immigration reform that is fair, equitable, centers family unity and humanitarian protections, combats systemic injustices and works for everyone.10
The PR campaign for this new amnesty ploy tosses out all the right buzzwords: freedom, dignity, unity, diversity, and families. “Roadmap to Freedom” doesn’t make a lot of sense, though. Illegals already enjoy freedom in our country they could never experience in nations that believe in strong borders and putting their citizens first.
Biden promises that one of his first priorities will be to put illegal immigrants first and on the path to being Americans. This will help them compete more equally with citizens for jobs, federal, state, and local benefits, and that valuable COVID-19 vaccine. Sure, it’s demoralizing for anyone who believes in fairness and the rule of law, but since when did these things matter to Democrats more than the demands of radical activists?
Demoralized yet? Democrats aren’t finished.
We have a great country. It is about to be destroyed by the people our Constitution entrusts to protect it. Their ability to do this rests on two Senate seats in a single state. This is ridiculous considering both parties and Democrats in particular exhausted the word “democracy” over the past four years.
The reason these two Senate seats are so important has nothing to do with democracy. It has everything to do with ending the vision of America that we shared as a nation until the Democratic Party decided it was no longer politically valuable.
There is no solace to be had for the thoroughly demoralized Americans who voted against this treason. Whether or not Democrats succeed will depend largely on us. Are we ready to discard our values and fundamentally change what “America” means so Democratic Party elites can enjoy unprecedented power and prosperity?
I’ll ask the same question posed at the beginning of this post: are we stupid?
UPDATE December 16, 2020: is this the right time for Pelosi to blame Republicans for bloodshed? Yes.
A coronavirus relief bill is still a congressional pipe dream. That means Nancy Pelosi had time to dash off a quick missive against Republicans to remind us about another historic hurt, the Sandy Hook tragedy:
While Senate Republicans refuse to lift a finger to end the bloodshed, House Democrats will work with the new Biden-Harris Administration to enact these and other critical bills and deliver the progress the American people demand.11
Threats against the Second Amendment make this a non-starter for now, but more important is the lie in Pelosi’s remark about ending the bloodshed. We all know where violence and deaths are a daily occurrence. They happen in the same communities Democrats claim are impacted by systemic racism in the health care system that, coincidentally, they designed.
If “enough is enough”12 Democrats should clamp down on the extremists who bang the drum to hamstring local police departments by cutting off their funding. Instead, they choose to demoralize those impacted by gun violence repeatedly blaming others for a problem they refuse to help solve.
I’ll ask the question a third time: are we stupid? It’s obvious Pelosi thinks we are.
UPDATE December 23, 2020: Trump turns the tables on demoralizing Democrats
When the news got out about what Democrats are spending struggling Americans’ tax dollars on this Christmas in the name of COVID relief there was no shame on Capitol Hill. Even Republicans signed off on this appalling insult to our nation and its people with one big exception: Donald Trump.
Trump stood up for the people. He asked for more. A lot more.
Voters who embraced the Democratic Party last month, take note. When the American people needed help your party spent on a dizzying list of end of year pet projects, special interests, and WOKE priorities like defunding ICE. The people got $600 lumps of coal.
This works out well for politicians who prefer the people to be demoralized and desperate so they can perpetuate Democratic Party lies about supporting distressed working families. Lots of people believe these lies, enough to put Joe Biden in the White House and keep the House under Democrat control.
This year trusting the party of the people didn’t work out so well for Americans in trouble, especially those in shutdown states who lost their livelihoods and their businesses. Their party prefers it this way.
It’s too bad we can’t pay out COVID relief on the basis of party affiliation. Biden voters get $600. Trump voters get $2,000. That might help drill the message home about who really cares about the American people.

This article firmly establishes what Yuri Bezmenov spoke about after defecting from Russia as a KGB agent.

Ken, I read your comment as I was listening to this morning’s update on the flood of illegals and drugs the Border Patrol encountered this weekend. What could be more demoralizing than denying citizens the right to a territorial boundary for their country? If Biden can’t do enough damage from within, he can always rely on the damage he’s importing from outside.

Well stated Bob, I lived in New City N.Y. In 2006 and an illegal alien from Guatemala, sexually abused and brutally murdered Mary Nagle ( Google Mary Nagle New City ) leaving a devastated husband and two children without a mother. This is exactly the kind of damage our President is importing.
Bob Prokop says
I did look it up. Horrible story. Wonder how many more like it are hushed by the media because they conflict with the Biden-Harris-Democrat Party narrative?
Can you imagine the cynical calculation Biden and his backers must have made about allowing in hordes of illegals knowing they could not screen or control the child molesters and sex offenders, gang members, terrorists, and violent criminals that would take advantage of our newly opened border? Americans were deemed collateral damage so Democrats can score a win with immigration activists. Fentanyl dealers are probably just as appreciative.
Thanks for your comments.
