An In the News post from Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) accuses ICE of being a “rogue, corrupt agency.”1 Pressley and other Democrats oppose funds to ICE and Customs and Border Protection on principle despite new reports from CBP of “unprecedented volumes of aliens”2 streaming into the Texas Rio Grande Valley Sector.
Until now Democrats were long-time supporters of government workers and labor interests. They just finished blasting the Supreme Court for the Janus public sector union decision and Republican anti-union policies will factor hugely into the coming midterm elections. How do federal officers who are also union members factor into the party’s agenda? That question creates a huge conflict for extremist party members who will be forced to pander to unions and illegal immigrants to bring out the November vote.
America is a not a place. It’s a concept based on ideals. Without the ideals we are just real estate to be given away to the highest bidder. One of those ideals is that we are a sovereign nation. That’s a tough one to sell as the voices demanding open borders and a socialist economy get louder. Extremist Democratic Party members know that they can encourage a militant left to do their dirty work while they stand back and hold themselves blameless for the inevitable confrontations and violence their rhetoric will create. That’s how liberal dissidents will abolish America, one clash and one ideal at a time.
We can’t refer to murderers and rapists as “animals” and separating families at the border is a criminal act. These are the rules handed down by Democrats who have chosen the most extreme stance on non-enforcement imaginable. That’s bad news for children in protected immigrant communities who might be a lot safer in federal hands.
ICE’s detention center budget last year was close to $3 billion. Immigration court costs reached $440 million. That’s a lot of money for taxpayers to pay to hear about an unfair, abusive, inhumane system that we wouldn’t need without policies that give immigrants a great excuse to cross our scantily protected border. Instead of questioning the ethics of the detention system we should question why we lure people here only to lock them up because they never got permission. That's a Democratic Party problem and it’s not going to go away any time soon.
