It’s absolutely stunning that Joe Biden can drum up enough support to make a showing in the polls. Are Americans that desperate? Did the virus rob us of our senses? How many times do we have to go down this path before we learn once and for all what happens when Democrats win and take over the leadership of our country?
This year’s ridiculous policy proposals in the name of economic justice should send voters fleeing for the exits. No matter how bad Americans think their lives are, begging Democrats to tear down and rebuild the country is not going to make anything better.
Trump leadership is terrible because Democrats want it to be
Democrats exploit every opportunity to point out Donald Trump’s leadership failures while they apply a generous, liberal blind eye to their own. So extreme and absurd is the congressional left’s irrational thinking that they blame the president for our coronavirus deaths:
In border states such as Texas and Arizona, COVID-19 is out control and your lack of leadership has already resulted in the deaths of more the 120,000 Americans and the gravest economic disaster since the Great Depression, both of which are decimating Latino communities.1
In the same breath condemning his leadership Trump is told to stay away from Democrat-run cities that are imploding and exploding with no end to the mayhem in sight. This kind of hypocrisy is at a fever pitch thanks to the outrageously polarizing opportunities George Floyd’s death offers to left wing insurgents. Even Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot felt empowered to attack the president when he offered to help with the outrageous violence that will never be stopped by her ineffectual, jargon-laced public remarks.
Author’s note July 23, 2020: Lightfoot threw in the towel yesterday and rationalized White House plans to send federal agents to Chicago after a Wild West style shootout outside of a funeral home Monday night that left 15 people shot.
There is no honor among the tax and spend thieves who are incensed at not being able to use the national coffers for whatever they want, whenever they want by throwing the economic justice card. When you hear that Trump is incompetent or worse, rest assured that this isn’t about leadership. It’s about tearing apart anyone who opposes take no prisoners Democratic policy.
Trump’s leadership is a straw man. He is the absolute last person on earth Democrats wish to collaborate with no matter what he proposes. Berating his leadership is a pointless political stunt. Their goal is social and economic upheaval, not bipartisan compromise.
Liberal calling card: vicious values and destruction
Democrats viciously attack anyone who argues against whatever trending values they choose to market to their alarmingly destructive base. They attack members of Congress. They attack White House staff. They attack the president. They attack Republican state and city officials. Their wayward base engages in increasingly violent conflicts with law enforcement when officers try to prevent looting and the destruction of public property. WGN News reports what happened in Chicago when protesters who were determined to pull down a statue of Christopher Columbus violently confronted police. Protesters cried foul. Police officers were injured and now they are accused of brutality.
When the Trump administration intervened in Portland, House Speaker Pelosi condemned Trump’s “egregious abuses of power” and claimed officials are “inflaming tensions for their own gain.” She warns:
While Portland is the President’s current target, any city could be next.2
She is right. Any city could be next. The more property destroyed and citizens harmed by ultra-left agitators in cities led by her party like Chicago, Seattle, Atlanta, and Portland, the more empowered they feel and the less they will do to stop the liberal aggression they refuse to accept responsibility for.
Democrats demand that responsible citizens sit back and watch while the insurgents they inspire loot, burn, assault, and walk out of jails and prisons thanks to pandemic decarceration. If Democrats win, this kind of anarchy will continue to be excused as a justifiable response to American injustice. The worse it gets, the louder the calls will be for revolutionary change.
If Democrats win, Americans must be absolutely clear what happens next
As the opportunity approaches to choose the leadership we want Americans must be absolutely clear on what we will get if Democrats win. Instead of listening to the usual litany of false campaign trail promises we should pay attention to history.
Many of us live in states where Democrats rule. We know what happens. We’re familiar with how bad it gets. When they take the lead they fall back on a tried and true strategy of pandering, economic destruction, excuses, and blame.
Illinois is a stern warning to every American voter
There is no better state than Illinois to show the destructive impact of Democratic Party leadership. The Land of Lincoln – a title that will no doubt be erased soon – is a case study in how Democrats think and what happens when they take over. They take more from everyone whether they are haves or have nots. Blaming people with money for not being taxed highly enough is just a cover for their endorsement of regressive taxes, penalties, and fees.
While public health fights a pandemic, Illinois’ Democratic fiscal gurus continue to punish struggling taxpayers. The Illinois gas tax just went up again after doubling a year ago. So did minimum wage rates business must pay in the state and the City of Chicago. Highly paid state workers got four-figure pay raises July 1, 2020 while unemployment raged.3 Chicago’s mayor assures illegal immigrants of pandemic relief assistance. Governor Pritzker’s progressive income tax amendment will be on the November 2020 ballot even though we know from past experience that hiking the state income tax only creates more spending and debt.
No matter the tax burden and unemployment rate for residents, the state’s Democratic leadership will stick to the plan to raise the cost of survival to the breaking point while jobs are lost, businesses close, the undeserving benefit, and violence in the state’s largest city explodes out of control and requires federal intervention.
Now imagine this kind of fiscal and social disregard for your tax dollars on a national scale. Handing over the White House and Senate to Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosi while Joe Biden does whatever he is told by his more aggressive handlers will be an unmitigated catastrophe for America.
Massive bribe? Democrats juggle your trillions as election looms
While we wait for the presumptive nominee to become a candidate, Nancy Pelosi is gearing up for a fight over even more pandemic spending:
And, we – first, it was going to be no bill, and then it was going to be some little bill. Now it’s 1.3 [trillion dollars]. That’s not enough. That’s not enough.4
How much is enough? We’re so used to hearing the words “trillion” and “trillions” that Pelosi’s $3 trillion Heroes Act no longer shocks. Neither does her focus on extending the $600 unemployment insurance bonus that gives people no reason to go back to work and get the economy moving again even though more jobs was their pre-pandemic priority. They blasted every good jobs report delivered by this president no matter how low the unemployment rate dropped.
Economic success is a loser for Democrats. It is better for the party to keep spending money we don’t have to further our economic decline in hopes of gaining the power to tax it all back next year so they can spend even more.
Schumer and Pelosi want real leadership
With more money you can do more damage. Chief party panderers Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi insist:
At this challenging time, our nation needs real leadership.5
This is what real leadership will mean if the pair gets what they want and Democrats win in November 2020.
We will spend on economic justice and you will pay the bill
How do you make a Democrat cry? Say ”tax cut.” Works every time.
The best way to bring in more revenue is to offer programs we can’t afford and then blame taxpayers with means for not doing the right and moral thing by paying more for them. This puts money in Democratic pockets so they can offer social and economic bribes that bring in votes.
Policy first, fiscal sanity last is a stock-in-trade no brainer for a party that accuses the president of ignoring science while it ignores the simple fact that spending what you don’t have creates debt.
Six kinds of justice?
Democratic fiscal policy is not about economic justice. It’s a liberal values proposition hiding behind leftist buzzwords. Nancy Pelosi easily proves this point with her litany of economically just spending priorities:
Across the country, day in and day out, American people have been shining a light on those disparities and are demanding justice, racial justice and also environmental justice, health care justice, justice in financial security, transportation justice and more, which target communities of color. Transportation justice; people don’t think of that as an injustice, but in many cases it is and we can give you examples.6
That’s a lot of justice to pay for. Is it any surprise that the sky’s the limit in the House? After the Heroes Act House Democrats also passed a massive $1.5 trillion, 2,300 page “Moving Forward” green infrastructure spending bill that easily surpasses GOP plans for the next round of pandemic relief before we even get to the Heroes Act.
If Biden wins, he has already proposed his own $2 trillion climate scheme. That puts the Democratic wish list for new spending at $6.5 trillion and counting.
There is another kind of uniquely American economic justice that Democrats refuse to talk about. It’s the kind of justice that allows Americans to keep more, not less of what they earn. This kind of thinking won’t put the government in charge of how you live your life and how much money you need to get by. It won’t keep entrenched politicians in office or excuse their bad behavior because liberal values justify the means.
Instead of a promise that success means more money in your pocket, depending on your income economic justice may select you for special punishment:
Likewise, Representative Ocasio-Cortez used her platform to spark a national debate on tax rates by calling for a top marginal rate of 70% on millionaire fortunes.7
Does Schumer want justice or reparations?
How many labels can we put on the same broken record? Even though we’ve heard it all before, Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) Economic Justice Act sounds suspiciously like reparations:
For far too long, Congress has underfunded critical priorities like public health, child care, infrastructure, and job creation in these communities. Senate Democrats’ plan would make a historic federal commitment to communities of color through ten major investments over the next five years.8
Underfunded? The only reason Senator Schumer’s party bothers with black and brown voters is because they are an easy excuse to tax, spend, and attack Republicans. More spending won’t change decades of failed economics. Besides, the bill only calls for a $350 billion commitment. There isn’t anything particularly historic about that unless the plan is to sneak reparations one bill at a time.
We will pay for anti-business economics, too
If Donald Trump deserves credit for anything, it’s originality. We haven’t seen this kind of leadership in our lifetime and will likely never see it again. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t. No one can argue it’s not the president’s very own.
The same can’t be said of Joe Biden. His American idea is the usual Democratic Party collection of promises for the downtrodden and a threat for everyone else.
“Joe’s vision” is:
an economy that rewards those who actually do the work.9
Sounds suspiciously like Obama’s “you didn’t build that,” doesn’t it?
Biden’s vision should terrify anyone who worked hard to build a company that keeps Americans working. It should frighten the workers who are employed by that company too, because they will lose their jobs when doing business costs too much money.
At least it will please labor unions even if they don’t “actually do the work.”
Fund another war on poverty? Why??
Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama gave us nearly thirty years of Democratic leadership and the inevitable promises to eradicate poverty, or at least ameliorate the damage. Now it’s election time again. We got this from Congresswomen Barbara Lee (D-CA) and Marcia Fudge (D-OH):
“The persistence of widespread poverty in the wealthiest nation in the world is both a moral and policy failure,” said Congresswoman Marcia Fudge. “The COVID-19 pandemic has laid bare the glaring inequality and deep injustices that plague our country today.10
Democrats weren’t happy at poverty-killing historic low unemployment, either. This was their response to a 3.6% jobless rate:
The October [2019] jobs report offers further evidence that the Republicans’ disastrous special interest agenda is hollowing out the middle class while enriching the wealthy and well-connected. Clearly, the GOP Tax Scam has left our country with nothing but broken promises and an underperforming economy.11
Remember how we make a Democrat cry? A tax cut will always be a “scam.” Your paycheck is supposed to go into the Democratic Party’s pocket, not your bank account.
Spend on liberal values, or else
Are you a bad American? That depends on whether your values align with Democratic priorities. We know too well how the party feels about “Trump’s base.”
Intolerance became the most cherished liberal value on May 25, 2020. It turned the 2020 Democratic campaign into a very risky, very expensive liberal values proposition. If Democrats win we will have no choice but to accept their values. A portion of every dime you make will enforce them.
That means your hard work will fund federal benefits for illegal immigrants. This will include Affordable Care Act health care. You will pay for people on the relief roles who won’t be asked to work for their welfare. A portion of your paycheck will pay for student loan forgiveness that you did not enjoy while you were paying back your loans. Massive pension and other debt in states led by Democrats will be your problem. Climate changes initiatives will be passed to please the left with no regard to common sense or fiscal viability.
This will all come on top of paying for national apologies. The American landscape will need to be cleansed of history. Slavery reparations are already on the table. That will only get things started. From LGBTQ Americans to illegal immigrants, every minority special interest will get a national apology payment. Democrats might hide our apologies in sneaky bills like Schumer’s Economic Justice Act, but most of us recognize a vote-getting scam when we have to pay for it.
We will pay to empower groups that are most valuable to Democrats
This the final blow. Democratic Party politics isn’t about the majority. It’s about leveraging the minority to get more money from the majority.
Spending money we don’t have in the name of economic justice is not just. When you damage the economy you hurt the people you most need to help.
Is unmitigated economic failure the goal or the problem? If we believe Democrats there isn’t a single issue America faces that we can’t fix with more money, but when they win they never fix anything. Instead, we pay a lot more because the price of Democratic leadership failure keeps going up.
