American Values

The American Ideals and Values category includes posts on freedom and liberty, equality and rights, the battle between liberals and conservatives and most important, what it means to be American.

The bulwarks of American greatness espoused by our Founding Fathers in the Declaration of Independence and Constitution have been replaced by ideals and values dictated by increasingly divisive, polarized politics.

The growing might of a America's radical left undermines, re-imagines, and destroys our fundamental beliefs about what is good, morally justifiable, and worth protecting at any cost, whether that means protecting the sovereignty of our borders, defending the First Amendment, affirming property rights violated by squatters, or saying no to thriving, pro-terror antisemitism on college campuses.

President Biden's weaponized justice, covert censorship, election manipulation, and autocratic executive orders reimagined our great nation and started us down the path to social, economic, and moral decline.

We no longer live in the America envisioned by our Founders. We have devolved into a vicious, valueless Banana Republic for the sake of delivering overwhelming power to one political party.

You were just run over by a bus and are dying on a gurney in the emergency room. Are you thinking about how diverse the doctors are who are rushing to save your life? Probably not. What matters is that you don’t want to die. You can only hope that the hospital chose its staff based on their skills and not so it can boast the differences in their skin color, gender, or sexual … [Read more...] about Diverse Means Different. Hope Won’t Bring American Greatness. Will Fear?

Speaking to hope that’s always just out of reach doesn’t turn failure into accomplishment. That’s a mistake we heard more than once during Tuesday night’s State of the Union. Getting your party elected doesn’t create greatness just because you don’t like what the current administration has done, either. We heard that mistake during the Republican retort. Besides, fear works … [Read more...] about Hope Won’t Bring American Greatness. Will Fear?

Hollywood and Washington Know Money Matters Most

Whatever statement it makes about me, I like Quentin Tarantino’s movies. The banter is cleverly profane. The ironically humorous outbursts of violence play well with the amoral world view we expect from this director. Just like our movie industry has a First Amendment right to crank out Tarantino’s films, we have a right to view this sort of thing if we want to. That is how the … [Read more...] about Hollywood and Washington Know Money Matters Most

Having Enemies is the Value That Unites Us

Sign posted notifying people of Japanese descent to report for relocation.

Having enemies is important. It brings people together. In fact, having the British Empire as an enemy helped create America, one of the world’s most successful experiments in self-government. Can we say that having enemies is a value, even a core American value that constantly shifts with the political landscape? It certainly seemed that way in 2015. Iran came into favor with … [Read more...] about Having Enemies is the Value That Unites Us
