Illinois just took away our freedom to vote in a free and fair election, but that’s not the real problem
Why the shock and awe after a Cook County, Illinois judge made a stupidly futile effort to deny state Republicans the freedom to vote for the presidential candidate of our choice? Does this attack on voting rights matter in a state where Republican votes are meaningless and loyal Chicago Democrat voters are forced to watch millions flow to invading illegal immigrants?
Illinois gets in line behind its betters to take away a fundamental freedom
We might have been impressed if Illinois was the first state to take away the most fundamental freedom a democracy has to offer, the right to vote in a free and fair election. Instead, the Land of Lincoln – in reality the Land of Abusive Authoritarian Progressivism – tagged along behind its betters for want of an original scheme to disenfranchise conservatives and ensure another four years of Joe Biden by removing GOP frontrunner Donald Trump from primary election consideration.
One of the activist groups behind the left’s nationwide effort to ban Trump from primary ballots is Free Speech for People. The group claims to “challenge voter suppression” and “other emerging threats to our fundamental right to vote.”478 How denying voters the right to choose their party’s candidate accomplishes these lofty goals is not entirely clear, but this is not about democratic values or defending voting rights or any other deceptive appeal. This is about enforcing liberal progressivism through the ballot box.
China and Russia hold elections, too
Even totalitarian nations like China and Russia hold elections. Few will argue they are free or fair because the outcomes are already decided. Banning Trump from the ballot is little different and effectively gives Democrats the power to pick and choose their opposition candidates.
Cook County Judge Tracie Porter’s self-promoting, unilateral denial of democracy to Illinois residents is just another example of how the sanctity of voting rights doesn’t matter when Democrats are in charge unless they stand to benefit. They enforce their hegemony with an iron political will regardless of the electorate’s intentions and will defend to the bitter end this decision to only permit residents to vote for candidates with the party’s stamp of approval.
Does the vote even matter in Illinois?
Porter’s judicial grandstanding will be thrown out along with other blue state efforts to win this election by denying ballot access to the greatest threat to Joe Biden’s second term. More at issue is whether this even matters in Illinois and Cook County, in particular?
According to Capitol News Illinois [link expired], Biden sycophant JB Pritzker’s call to spend $182 million on the state’s illegals came up $70 million short.479 That’s a lot of cash to spend on foreign nationals while too many Chicago residents go wanting for decent schools, safe streets, health care, and a roof over their heads, but this is Illinois. Even if you are a Democrat there is no guarantee your vote will matter if you are not an activist political donor.
Taking away Republican voting rights by controlling the ballot is just another progressive wet dream, of course. No matter what you hear, voters will see Donald Trump on primary ballots here and in the other anti-democracy states canceling voting rights for residents whose political beliefs are despised by ruling Democrat regimes. This is a liberal fishing expedition to find out how far the party can push the limits of a democracy they threw on the progressive trash heap long ago.
The big problem: stopping this progressive attack on our fundamental freedoms
The big problem that can’t be fixed is the Democrat Party’s determination to pursue the progressive totalitarian destruction of everything that makes America the greatest democratic republic on earth. The Trump ballot strategy is an unprecedented attack on the fundamental freedoms of the American people. The big question is not whether this will succeed – it won’t – but how many of our citizens agree that it’s right to suspend the rights of those they disagree with?
If Illinois was the first state to cook up this scheme we could at least appreciate the originality of the idea. No such luck. The Land of Lincoln is at the back of the line behind its liberal betters to make a statement significant not because it will succeed, but because it so aptly displays how little regard progressives have for the rights and freedoms they take away with their big lie about defending free elections and the right to vote.
This is the real problem. The Trump ballot insanity will fail, but the denial of democratic values that stands behind the latest Democrat Party effort to control our elections shows no sign of going away.

People do not understand how the Democrats and the Obama administration are slowly strangling the very freedoms that the Revolution was fought for. The facts are clear when you see the Constitution being trampled on by Obama, and then realize that he could not pass a gun owner background check, which is why he has sealed “ALL” of his records.
If congress were to pass any new legislation on background checking it must include the requirement that “ALL” politicians running for public office must “PASS” those requirements or be disqualified.
As it stands right now, Obama could not ” PASS” a standard FBI check from the details that were written in his book, which is why his certification was challenged. The judges that had cases before them refused to hear the arguments and thusly dismissed those cases. What gutless wonders we have in the justice system including the Supreme Court.
Obama is tearing our nation apart. and he is banking on the ignorant that don’t pay attention. obama has a shady past and i am not convinced that he is a true citizen of the united states. If you vote democrat you are voting to end america as a freedom country. Obama is taking it all away and people are not paying attention. when it’s gone and you are under the control of a dictator you will wish you had paid attention. but this country has been under attack before obama but now it’s speeded up so much it will be a miracle if we can keep it
We’ll find out next week how well people are paying attention, won’t we, Sandy? I agree, it’s pretty amazing that no matter how bad things are or how misguided the actions of public officials, they still manage to convince people to support what they do. Watch what happens in the Illinois governor’s race next week. If Pat Quinn wins, it’s a pretty good sign that we are truly lost.
freedom from harm is not a reasonable freedom. Freedom from unjust aggression is reasonable, and the primary reason for government.

Interesting how some of what’s happening now at the hands of government could be considered unjust aggression, like the searches they conducted in Rhode Island looking for New Yorkers. It’s difficult to know where to draw the line between government overreach and the public interest, but that was quite a line to cross.

I don’t know if the intention was to turn lies into the sole means of communicating with the people to the complete exclusion of the truth, but it has certainly paid off for Democrats and the White House.
