Freedoms Republicans won’t fight for aren’t coming back, either
There are few good things to say about the current, radical Democrat Party that abolished basic American values like freedom and individual liberty from its political agenda, but at least with Democrats we know what we are getting. They tell us what they plan to do, they figure out how to do it, and then they get the job done.
Conservative Americans who wish the Republican Party had our back sit on the sidelines aghast. We wonder how Democrats not only get away with what they do, but how our representatives in Congress can be so helpless to combat blue hegemony.
Two Trump impeachments and the January 6 Kangaroo Court with its glossy, televised hearings and anti-Trump propaganda were partisan faits accomplis so well executed that many Americans believe these were legitimate proceedings to protect our country. When these sham show trials didn’t prevent Donald Trump from mounting his 2024 presidential campaign, the entirety of the Biden-Democrat Party’s weaponized justice system stepped in to deny our former president equal justice and fairness under the law with unprecedented lawsuits to ensure a 2024 election victory for Biden and the radical left.
There is no mystery here, no conspiracy. Democrats do what they do because there is no one to stop them. In the absence of resistance, they hone their craft. When they need help, foolish Republicans step in to assist.
Democrats understand that politics is a filthy, amoral business that’s all about power
Democrats understand something very simple: the business of Washington politics is a filthy, amoral endeavor. There is no room for values that don’t pander. Taxpayers are a means to political ends. Above all else, power is what matters.
Democrats like to win. Whatever it takes to come out on top is what they do.
After House Republicans refused to pass a much-needed resolution to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, it’s difficult to say what the GOP wants. Scoring a win for conservatives doesn’t seem to be on the party’s list.
House Republicans say NAY to your freedom to live in a sovereign nation
In November 2022, Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) demanded that Mayorkas resign:
This is why, today, I am calling on [Secretary Mayorkas] to resign. He cannot, and must not, remain in that position. If Secretary Mayorkas does not resign, House Republicans will investigate every order, every action, and every failure to determine whether we can begin an impeachment inquiry.444
We also heard threats to “begin an impeachment inquiry” into the president as House GOP investigations dragged on. When the time came for a full House vote, too many Republicans refused to support the inquiry.
Sure enough, nothing came from McCarthy’s threats to Mayorkas. One year later, Republicans still whine and complain and tell us how awful and threatening the southern border situation is. Illegals still invade our country while FBI Director Christopher Wray warns of a terror attack.
After a House Committee on Homeland Security hearing on Wednesday, we were again warned about Mayorkas’ role in our evolving terror threat:
Worse, Mayorkas could not confirm that every suspected terrorist that crosses the Southwest border illegally is detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), while Wray admitted that the FBI is still attempting to locate certain individuals on the terrorist watchlist who have crossed into the United States.445
This was not breaking news. We’ve heard warnings about the threat from our border since Biden took over and yet a week before the hearing House Republicans refused to take a stand on our behalf.
Greene stands up for our freedom. Eight Republicans say no and twelve do nothing.
Living in a sovereign nation is a freedom. Biden denied Americans that freedom when he cancelled Trump’s border security policies. With the help of his DHS secretary, he effectively erased our border with Mexico and weaponized our immigration system against the Americans he is duty bound to serve.
Democrats detest Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and with good reason. Unlike many of her false conservative colleagues who are content to play nice with Democrats, cash their taxpayer-funded paychecks, and make sure the problems in the spotlight never get solved so they have reliable issues to complain and do nothing about, Greene does what conservatives want the Republican Party to do. She stands up for the rights, values, and freedoms that have been stripped away by Democrats and the Biden administration.
This includes impeaching the architect of Barack Obama’s DACA scam and Biden’s illegal immigrant invasion of America.
H.Res. 863 vote is a stain on our feckless Republican Party
On November 13, 2023 Greene introduced H.Res. 863 calling for Mayorkas’ impeachment. The resolution begins with a simple prelude that’s almost impossible to disagree with and can just as easily be applied to Joe Biden:
Rather than adhering to an oath he took to defend and secure our country and uphold the Constitution when he was sworn in as Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Nicholas Mayorkas has engaged in a pattern of conduct that is incompatible with the laws of the United States, as follows:
It’s inconceivable that Republican lawmakers would refuse to offer Mayorkas’ impeachment to conservatives tired of being abused by Biden administration policies. While Wray warns about terrorism across our open border and pro-terror Hamas activists launch threatening demonstrations across the country, this was the time to make a statement about the DHS secretary’s stunningly willful dereliction of duty.
That is not what happened.
Republican NAYS side with Mayorkas, who denied Americans the freedom to live in a safe, secure country with a protected sovereign border
Short of paying foreign nationals to invade America, I can’t imagine how Biden and Mayorkas could have done a better job of destroying our sovereignty and putting every American at risk. At the very least, they could have charged illegals an entry fee instead of allowing Mexico’s cartels to reap the human trafficking profits.
It was time for Republicans to make their statement about this dangerous dereliction of duty. Instead, we got excuses for NAY votes to impeachment that have no excuse.
Tom McClintock (R-CA) relied on the Founding Fathers to justify his thumbs down:
The founders specifically rejected terms like malfeasance, neglect of duty and maladministration as grounds for impeachment, because they feared such vague terms would be twisted for political ends and render the executive subordinate to the legislative branch.446
The founders would also reject the notion that the American people don’t deserve a sovereign nation.
Instead of taking a stand, Darrel Issa (R-CA) left the decision to a House committee:
That’s why Sec. Mayorkas deserves to face an impeachment trial, and I am confident this Homeland Security Committee will make the case that he must be held accountable. I will be requesting my opportunity to testify before the committee and make my case why Sec. Mayorkas is the worst to ever hold his job and why impeachment would be a fitting punishment.447
We don’t need more testimony. We needed Issa’s YEA.
Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) made these comments alongside former Speaker McCarthy:
Citizens in El Paso cannot sleep at night because Biden and his administration will not secure the border. This past October, we had more crossings by people on the suspected terror watchlist than we did in 2016, 2017, and 2018 – combined.448
Crenshaw did not cast a vote and neither did 11 other Republicans.
Virginia Foxx (R-NC) chose a different committee to absolve her of responsibility to defend our freedom:
Yes, Alejandro Mayorkas must be held accountable for his egregious failures – there’s no doubt about that. By giving the Judiciary Committee, under the leadership of Chairman Jordan, the opportunity to conduct a full-scale impeachment inquiry the right way, House Republicans are fulfilling the commitments we made to the American people and rising to a level that Democrats could never do.449
Foxx unwittingly points out why Democrats are so good at what they do:
I opposed the snap impeachment Democrats launched against President Trump, and Republicans can do better than to take a page out of the Democrat political playbook. I look forward to voting for the impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas – when we’ve adhered to regular order and made good on our commitments.450
That political playbook is a formula for victory time and again. Trump’s impeachments were politically motivated and wrong, but now Democrats have a “twice-impeached” candidate to compare to Joe Biden. Those two words will be used again and again during the runup to November 5, 2024.
In a November 14, 2023 media interview House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) pointed out a sad fact about House Republicans we can only wish was a lie:
Extreme MAGA Republicans have repeatedly demonstrated that they cannot govern without House Democrats.451
Jeffries is absolutely correct. Twenty GOP lawmakers just proved it. Republicans play along with Democrats and they are fond of political gamesmanship, but when it comes to taking a stand for conservative Americans we cannot depend on them to unite in defense of our freedom. Winning is not something they seem interested in.

People do not understand how the Democrats and the Obama administration are slowly strangling the very freedoms that the Revolution was fought for. The facts are clear when you see the Constitution being trampled on by Obama, and then realize that he could not pass a gun owner background check, which is why he has sealed “ALL” of his records.
If congress were to pass any new legislation on background checking it must include the requirement that “ALL” politicians running for public office must “PASS” those requirements or be disqualified.
As it stands right now, Obama could not ” PASS” a standard FBI check from the details that were written in his book, which is why his certification was challenged. The judges that had cases before them refused to hear the arguments and thusly dismissed those cases. What gutless wonders we have in the justice system including the Supreme Court.

Obama is tearing our nation apart. and he is banking on the ignorant that don’t pay attention. obama has a shady past and i am not convinced that he is a true citizen of the united states. If you vote democrat you are voting to end america as a freedom country. Obama is taking it all away and people are not paying attention. when it’s gone and you are under the control of a dictator you will wish you had paid attention. but this country has been under attack before obama but now it’s speeded up so much it will be a miracle if we can keep it
Bob says
We’ll find out next week how well people are paying attention, won’t we, Sandy? I agree, it’s pretty amazing that no matter how bad things are or how misguided the actions of public officials, they still manage to convince people to support what they do. Watch what happens in the Illinois governor’s race next week. If Pat Quinn wins, it’s a pretty good sign that we are truly lost.

freedom from harm is not a reasonable freedom. Freedom from unjust aggression is reasonable, and the primary reason for government.
Bob Prokop says
Thanks for your remarks, Ed. Interesting how some of what’s happening now at the hands of government could be considered unjust aggression, like the searches they conducted in Rhode Island looking for New Yorkers. It’s difficult to know where to draw the line between government overreach and the public interest, but that was quite a line to cross.

I don’t know if the intention was to turn lies into the sole means of communicating with the people to the complete exclusion of the truth, but it has certainly paid off for Democrats and the White House.
