We are the Generation That Gave Up Our Freedom
Ronald Reagan warned us about the tenuous nature of freedom:
Freedom is a fragile thing and it’s never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by way of inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. And those in world history who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again.405
We are the generation on track to give up this single greatest thing about America at the hands of politicians who decided that we answer to them.
Republicans bring their dull knife to a nuclear war
The Republican response to a Democrat Party agenda that centers on taking away our constitutionally guaranteed freedoms would be laughable if the consequences were not so dire. Like the old western movie joke, when the GOP took over the House in January they brought a knife to a gunfight that’s now a nuclear war.
Republicans can’t argue that they didn’t know what they were getting into when they promised to turn the country around in exchange for our votes. Their opponents are the same politicians who steamrolled over the House GOP with their January 6th tribunal and two Trump impeachments designed to clear the way for the radical left’s takeover of America.
Now we’re faced with four new indictments to guarantee a 2024 election win for the Democrat Party. The charges against Trump reflect the left’s obsessive hate for anyone and anything that stands in the way of their authoritarian plans to control what we eat and drink, what we buy, the type of energy we use, when we can go to work and when we must hide in our houses, the curriculum in the public schools we pay for and most important, the candidates we choose for public office.
Government-sponsored censorship, intimidation and threats against parents, FBI spying on Catholics, and the newest, politically motivated Trump indictment in Georgia are signs that our First Amendment liberties are no longer rights. They are privileges doled out as our government sees fit.
There are few better examples of the Democrat Party’s false virtues than attacks on the Second Amendment. The freedom of law-abiding conservatives to own a firearm is under relentless assault while violent Democrat strongholds turn a blind eye to violence in their communities because the truth conflicts with liberal insanity like no cash bail laws and efforts to strip funding from law enforcement.
The result? Criminals enjoy their freedom. Law-abiding Americans lose their lives.

Sovereignty is one our freedoms. We lost that, too.
The Biden administration handed our border to cartels, continues to wave in hordes of illegals, alleged asylum seekers, and suspected terrorists, and lies incessantly that our sovereign boundary with Mexico is secure.
Whether this effort is directed at shifting the political composition of the nation, creating an excuse for massive social spending, punishing Americans for placing a value on national identity and citizenship, or all three no longer matters. Americans’ basic right to live in a sovereign nation with a border protected by our government is gone, vanished in less than three years.
Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) promised to “Secure the Border and Combat Illegal Immigration” as part of his midterm vote-getting Commitment to America.
What happened?
Trump indictments are the end of our most important freedom. Where is the Republican response?
The four indictments to prevent the Republican front runner from challenging Biden in 2024 despite Democrats committing similar and even more egregious offenses for which they hold themselves blameless destroyed any notion that our freedom of equality before the law still exists.
Worst of all, Americans who naively believe we live in a country with the right to vote our beliefs are sadly mistaken. The Democrat Party is well on its way to taking that freedom away in favor of restricting our choice to candidates approved by the left.
The left’s cancellation of Donald Trump plays out against the backdrop of a possibly corrupt and compromised autocrat in the Oval Office. Whether Biden is responsible for denying Americans our constitutional rights or whether this comes from unseen radicals using his cognitive incompetence to take control doesn’t really matter. There is little or nothing most Americans can do to stop White House attacks on our freedom. Only political action will fix what’s happening and we’re not seeing it.
Republican Commitment to get our votes ended with the midterms.
McCarthy’s Commitment to voters promised “A Future That’s Built on Freedom” and “A Government That’s Accountable” and will “Preserve Our Constitutional Freedoms.” Now that the GOP is safe from judgment until 2024, that commitment is long forgotten.
Listening to McCarthy contemplate a Biden impeachment inquiry kicked into the fall session is like listening to one of Kamala Harris’ moments. The words keep coming, but like his commitment promises they don’t go anywhere.
We’re still waiting for the GOP to impeach or at least hamstring other bad actors in Biden’s radical cabal. As The Hill reports, under McCarthy’s leadership the idea of impeachment inquiries for Mayorkas, Garland, and Biden are still on the backburner.407
Why?
Let’s be clear: an impeachment inquiry is an investigation. It is not impeachment. It’s a move we’re promised will open new avenues in the go-nowhere House investigation of the president and his family.
When Democrats and Biden’s politicized federal agencies deny the GOP’s new impeachment inquiry requests, what will Republicans do? If their record so far is any indication, the answer is “nothing.”
While McCarthy floats his possible, maybe, potentially, at some point in the future impeachment inquiry, Democrats and the radical left are consolidating their power at all levels of government and more of our freedom disappears every day.
The future of freedom in America is at stake. It’s time for feckless Republicans to fight this war in the gutter.
We are out of time. Too much damage is already done. The Biden administration’s cancellation of our freedom of equal justice and Biden’s whole of government protection racket will hold the president blameless regardless of any evidence the GOP comes up with. More investigations, more news releases, and more demands for accountability are meaningless in the absence of action and only serve to empower the left’s conviction that Republicans are weak and powerless.
Democrats hold back nothing. They fight dirty and they win.
Comer issues another threat. Does anyone care?
Last week Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) and Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) issued a news release about Vice President Biden’s abuse of Air Force Two while serving the Obama administration:
Then-Vice President Joe Biden abused Air Force Two by allowing his son to jet set around the world to sell ‘The Brand’ to enrich the Biden family. This is yet another example of then-Vice President Biden abusing his public office for his family’s financial gain. There must be accountability for this abuse of taxpayer-funded resources. .408
The pair warn:
The walls are closing in on the Biden Family due to consistent and diligent efforts by House Republicans who’ve followed the money, conducted meticulous interviews and hearings, and uncovered undeniable corruption.409
The response of Americans watching our freedoms being stripped away should be “So What?” Short of a civil war, political action from Republicans in Congress is the only solution to winning the fight to preserve the freedom Democrats and the Biden administration view as a threat to left-wing hegemony.
Comer, Jordan, and other Republicans investigating the president and his family wore out their welcome months ago. We’re fed up with investigations that open the door to more investigations. The consequences of inaction are too dire. Every day the GOP sits on its hands and warns about what may come is another day for Biden and the Democrat Party to leverage their advantage.
The one challenger who can defeat Joe Biden is being taken out by our weaponized judicial system that Democrats spent years corrupting with little or no interference from weak-willed Republicans who seem content to be the party of losers as long as they keep getting paid and can claim they are the ones running the House.
Democrats will stop at nothing to take out the two greatest threats to their power: Donald Trump and more important, the conservative vote. In response, Speaker McCarthy and too many House and Senate Republicans are willing to remain complacent, kick the can into 2024, and use the loss of our freedom as an election issue useful for attracting votes from Americans who aren’t yet disgusted enough with the GOP to stop sending money, stop supporting Republicans, and move forward to demand a real conservative party that cares about McCarthy’s promise to restore a Future Built on Freedom.

People do not understand how the Democrats and the Obama administration are slowly strangling the very freedoms that the Revolution was fought for. The facts are clear when you see the Constitution being trampled on by Obama, and then realize that he could not pass a gun owner background check, which is why he has sealed “ALL” of his records.
If congress were to pass any new legislation on background checking it must include the requirement that “ALL” politicians running for public office must “PASS” those requirements or be disqualified.
As it stands right now, Obama could not ” PASS” a standard FBI check from the details that were written in his book, which is why his certification was challenged. The judges that had cases before them refused to hear the arguments and thusly dismissed those cases. What gutless wonders we have in the justice system including the Supreme Court.
Obama is tearing our nation apart. and he is banking on the ignorant that don’t pay attention. obama has a shady past and i am not convinced that he is a true citizen of the united states. If you vote democrat you are voting to end america as a freedom country. Obama is taking it all away and people are not paying attention. when it’s gone and you are under the control of a dictator you will wish you had paid attention. but this country has been under attack before obama but now it’s speeded up so much it will be a miracle if we can keep it
We’ll find out next week how well people are paying attention, won’t we, Sandy? I agree, it’s pretty amazing that no matter how bad things are or how misguided the actions of public officials, they still manage to convince people to support what they do. Watch what happens in the Illinois governor’s race next week. If Pat Quinn wins, it’s a pretty good sign that we are truly lost.
freedom from harm is not a reasonable freedom. Freedom from unjust aggression is reasonable, and the primary reason for government.
Thanks for your remarks, Ed. Interesting how some of what’s happening now at the hands of government could be considered unjust aggression, like the searches they conducted in Rhode Island looking for New Yorkers. It’s difficult to know where to draw the line between government overreach and the public interest, but that was quite a line to cross.

I don’t know if the intention was to turn lies into the sole means of communicating with the people to the complete exclusion of the truth, but it has certainly paid off for Democrats and the White House.
