Update April 11, 2023:
Harris talks freedom: “you don’t silence the people.”
Vice President Kamala Harris stirred up an audience at Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee last Friday* as part of the Democrat Party’s effort to propagandize their Nashville Three and the angry Tennessee statehouse protest. In truth, now it’s only a Nashville One. One lawmaker was reinstated yesterday and another was never ousted.
Harris supported the anarchy with a surprising appeal to freedom and free speech:
A democracy says you don’t silence the people. You do not stifle the people. You don’t turn off their microphones when they are speaking — (applause) — about the importance of life and liberty. (Applause.) That is not what a democracy does. (Applause.)
And understand — so, they turned off the microphones. They tried to tell them to sit down and be quiet. But they understood that the voices must be heard.339
We heard similar hyperbole in support of the 2020 Black Lives Matter race riots. Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) pointed out Harris’ record of promoting violent unrest:
More than ignore, some Democrats even went so far as to encourage the riots—while they were happening. Vice President-elect Kamala Harris said in June, “Protesters should not let up” and tweeted out a link to get arrested rioters out of jail to do more damage. Squad member Rep. Ayanna Pressley said in August, “There needs to be unrest in the streets” while she and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also helped raise money to bail Antifa protesters out of jail. Furthermore, Democrats showed their sympathies were fully behind the rioters when they chose to use “Defund the Police” as their slogan.340
Democrats insist that January 6 almost spelled the end of American democracy, but they immediately exploited the Nashville incident while conveniently ignoring the fact that the lawmakers taking part in the protest violated statehouse rules. Harris justified this as well:
So think about this: In order to make sure the voices were represented in that place where elected leaders are supposed to lead in a democracy, these leaders had to get a bullhorn. (Applause.) They had to get a bullhorn to be heard. (Applause.)341
Now the trio are social justice martyrs. Two are victims of racism. The transgender mass murderer is on the list of Covenant School shooting victims.
This is a tough pill to swallow for Americans who care about living in a free society not constrained by fear of radical left anarchy and the constant threat of violence encouraged by politicians who send the message that anything in service to the Democrat Party is justifiable and will not be punished.
Harris is correct that a free society and a democracy doesn’t silence the people. Republican investigations are proving just how far Democrats are willing to go to do precisely that. They will deny our freedom by cancelling our voice when we step out of line. If that isn’t successful, intimidation and violence come next.
The vice president claims that life matters, though the 2020 riots and her party’s willingness to tolerate murders in their cities rather than promote responsible law enforcement and legitimate criminal justice points to the real political goal.
That goal is anarchy. When society offends the left, tearing it apart is a preferred response for Democrat Party foot soldiers who know they will never be held accountable by those in power. Harris helped get that message out in 2020 and the misinformation she is helping Democrats spread about their Nashville Three is just a continuation of the same incitement agenda.
Gaines and Duncan stifled because they didn’t submit.
Two recent incidents demonstrate how the left lives up to Harris’ “don’t silence the people” maxim. Reason reports how women’s sports supporter Riley Gaines was shouted down, assaulted, and prevented from leaving by transgender rights protesters when she appeared at San Francisco State University.342
Stanford University offered another example of how the left doesn’t silence or stifle after heckling law school students prevented Judge Kyle Duncan from speaking despite an invite to appear.
This is how America’s political left values your freedom to speak and not be silenced. Hollow appeals to democracy from far-left authoritarian ideologues who only value the principles our nation was founded on when they are the ones who benefit don’t protect our freedom. They take it away. Harris is a perfect example of how it’s done despite her promise that “a democracy allows for places where the people’s voice will be heard and honored and respected.”343
When it comes to freedom for conservative voices, where might those places be?

UPDATE April 17, 2023:
America’s fundamental freedoms are about more than sex and lies from our government.
Vice President Kamala Harris addressed Al Sharpton’s “No Justice, No Peace” National Action Network.344 on Friday. After the usual, adoring “I love you” back and forth with the crowd, she got down to the business of attacking America with another one of her moments:
So, NAN, in that spirit then, let us clearly understand the moment we are in — a moment in which our hard-won freedoms are under attack.345
The most fundamental freedom we have comes from the simple idea that our government answers to the people. This is the difference between autocracy and authoritarianism and democracy. Washington is accountable to us. We are not accountable to Washington.
On Day One the Biden administration threw this freedom on the burn pile. Transparency vanished. American sovereignty ended as the border was overrun. The Green New Deal snuck in and tanked our economy, limiting choices for working- and middle-class families and making them more dependent on the government. Americans were denied the use of the energy resources we own. Fuel prices skyrocketed and further restricted economic freedom.
These anti-American policies took away our freedom because they made us subservient to a White House that answers to the demands of radical activists instead of serving the greater good for our nation and people.
Harris conveniently ignored what the administration has done to take away our fundamental freedoms. Instead, she turned liberty into an excuse to lie about sex and voting.
Lies about sex and voting define your fundamental freedoms.
After nearly 250 years of American greatness because of the freedoms endowed by our Founding Fathers, our vice president waved the flag for freedom with lies about voting, sex, and abortion.
Like most Democrats, she ignored the authoritarian COVID-19 mandates that took away our fundamental freedom to decide on our health care with our doctors. Thanks to Biden and Harris, government stepped in and took over. Good people were enemies of the state. They lost their jobs for saying no to a vaccine. Our freedom of bodily autonomy vanished.
For the tumble of words the vice president spewed to her audience, the takeaway was short and simple. Lies about sex and voting define America’s fundamental freedoms:
Because just look at where we are. Extremists across our country attack the freedom to vote. They ban books to attempt to erase America’s full history. They attack the ability of people to love openly and with pride. They attack the freedom of a woman to make decisions about her own body instead of the government. They attack medication that for 20 years the FDA ruled as being safe.346
She pretends that abortion restrictions are an entirely different matter from authoritarian pandemic mandates. They are not. The freedom to make decisions about our bodies was suspended to push a COVID-19 political narrative that had little to do with medicine or science. It was all about the politics of control. This is what happens to our freedom when we elect leaders who don’t honor or respect the values and principles that made America great.
I have yet to hear a Democrat, much less Harris explain how the alleged denial of voting rights in Georgia led to the election of far, far-left Senator Raphael Warnock. Party members cheered midterm victories and the failure of the predicted Republican red wave. House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) claims that Republicans can’t win elections and yet the vice president continues to push the lie that voters are denied the freedom of the suffrage. In fact, it’s lies from our leaders that take away our freedom. Americans can’t make informed decisions in the voting booth when we are fed propaganda and falsehoods to the exclusion of the truth.
Free speech is not for thee unless you vote for me.
Free speech is a pivotal American freedom most of us learned about in elementary school. Harris perverted the concept by telling the truth to support another lie:
Freedom does not turn off a microphone when an elected leader is speaking. (Applause.)347
“Elected leader” is not synonymous with “elected Democrat,” but that’s what the Biden-Harris administration seems to think when it comes to free speech. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) explains:
The third hearing of this select [House Weaponization] committee not only further detailed that the federal government targeted the free speech rights of the American people through its censorship campaigns, but that it was also carried out by high officials of this White House and involving hundreds or thousands of federal employees across the entire Biden Administration – all at taxpayer expense. Congress can’t ignore this abuse of power.348
If we took this remark out of context, you might think it was a criticism of Biden and Harris:
And, NAN, isn’t it interesting that in the midst of all these attacks on fundamental freedoms, these so-called leaders dare to tell us they are fighting for our freedoms. Don’t you find that interesting?349
Wrong. The vice president wants you to know she is battling for freedoms she only understands and supports within the narrow confines of the same activist political narrative that supports taking these freedoms away from you, me, and anyone who truly understands why they are so important to the survival of our nation.

People do not understand how the Democrats and the Obama administration are slowly strangling the very freedoms that the Revolution was fought for. The facts are clear when you see the Constitution being trampled on by Obama, and then realize that he could not pass a gun owner background check, which is why he has sealed “ALL” of his records.
If congress were to pass any new legislation on background checking it must include the requirement that “ALL” politicians running for public office must “PASS” those requirements or be disqualified.
As it stands right now, Obama could not ” PASS” a standard FBI check from the details that were written in his book, which is why his certification was challenged. The judges that had cases before them refused to hear the arguments and thusly dismissed those cases. What gutless wonders we have in the justice system including the Supreme Court.

Obama is tearing our nation apart. and he is banking on the ignorant that don’t pay attention. obama has a shady past and i am not convinced that he is a true citizen of the united states. If you vote democrat you are voting to end america as a freedom country. Obama is taking it all away and people are not paying attention. when it’s gone and you are under the control of a dictator you will wish you had paid attention. but this country has been under attack before obama but now it’s speeded up so much it will be a miracle if we can keep it
Bob says
We’ll find out next week how well people are paying attention, won’t we, Sandy? I agree, it’s pretty amazing that no matter how bad things are or how misguided the actions of public officials, they still manage to convince people to support what they do. Watch what happens in the Illinois governor’s race next week. If Pat Quinn wins, it’s a pretty good sign that we are truly lost.

freedom from harm is not a reasonable freedom. Freedom from unjust aggression is reasonable, and the primary reason for government.
Bob Prokop says
Thanks for your remarks, Ed. Interesting how some of what’s happening now at the hands of government could be considered unjust aggression, like the searches they conducted in Rhode Island looking for New Yorkers. It’s difficult to know where to draw the line between government overreach and the public interest, but that was quite a line to cross.

Bob Prokop says
I don’t know if the intention was to turn lies into the sole means of communicating with the people to the complete exclusion of the truth, but it has certainly paid off for Democrats and the White House.

Wow, the RWNJ is strong with this one.

I’m listening, John.
