Bowman defends our First Amendment freedoms on behalf of the CCP.
It’s frightening to think that a member of Congress would argue against America and in favor of a Chinese media platform, but today Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) praised China’s incursion into the online activities of five million U.S. companies and tens of millions of American households:
Social media creators shared how TikTok has impacted their small businesses, artistic expression and communities. More than 150 million Americans, including 5 million U.S. small businesses, use TikTok to inspire creativity, bring joy, and support their livelihoods.328
There is nothing joyful about the CCP unless you have no joy in your heart for America.
Bowman doesn’t see a distinction between China’s TikTok and online sites offered by American tech companies. It’s stunning to consider that the congressman considers cracking down on this CCP social media data miner to be an infringement on the same First Amendment rights his party showed little regard for during the COVID pandemic and the last presidential election:
The rush to ban TikTok sets a dangerous precedent for our country by undermining our freedom of speech and distracts from the real issue: protecting Americans’ data and privacy,” said Congressman Jamaal Bowman Ed.D. (NY-16). Every Big Tech company, both foreign and domestic, mines and sells our data for their own profits, and cracking down on surveillance capitalism is what we need to be focused on.329
He defends TikTok at America’s expense:
Many who are hyper focused on TikTok seem to look the other way when Facebook enables right-wing and Russian disinformation to undermine our democracy, and they are springing into action now because it suits their Cold War crusade against China.330
For reasons we should be thankful we will never understand, Bowman praises TikTok as a means to “protect young people’s right to free expression” and to democratize social media.331 There is nothing democratic about the CCP and no separation between anything in China and the party. As House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) pointed out during today’s hearing on this platform:
TikTok surveils us all and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is able to use this as a tool to manipulate America as a whole.332
The Blaze reports that Bowman went so far as to throw the race card in defense of China and blamed Republicans for inciting a Red Scare.333 If ever there was a time for a Red Scare, it’s right here and now. We should add to it a scare about elected members of our federal legislature who disavow their oath to defend us against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Democrat Party’s newest assault on your freedom proves America is in decline.
Unsurprisingly, the Democrat Party’s massive network of media outlets is ecstatic over yesterday’s news of President Donald Trump’s indictment. MSNBC threw the race card because Bragg is black and accused the GOP of “blowing racist dog whistles” in opposition.334
The message from the left? You have the freedom to agree with this travesty of justice. If you don’t, shut your damn mouth.
If there was ever a time for a dog whistle to rouse Americans who care about the freedoms they have lost to Democrats, that time just arrived.
Omar calls it accountability. The rest of us call it subservience to a one-party state.
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) warns that we can’t lose sight of accountability and the truth:
Now it is up to all of us, as citizens and elected leaders, to support accountability and to follow the facts where they lead. Political interference in a criminal investigation, up to and including incitement of violence, are hallmarks of democratic decline. I hope all of my colleagues will join me in supporting justice and accountability—regardless of party—for the sake of our democracy.335
Like most Democrats, I doubt that Omar’s quest for justice and accountability pertains to anyone who doesn’t demand a Trump guilty verdict long before any trial. All Americans, whether Democrat, Republican, independent, socialist, or undecided know precisely where the “facts” will lead and what Democrats mean when they talk about holding an opponent, and especially Donald Trump, accountable.
We knew what accountability meant during their Russia hoax.
We knew what it meant during Trump Impeachment #1.
We knew what it meant during Trump Impeachment #2.
We knew the definition of accountability before the sham January 6th Kangaroo Court even got underway.
Whether you agree or disagree with this indictment you know precisely what holding Trump accountable means and what is going to happen. Neither facts, nor justice, nor genuine accountability have anything to do with it. This is about removing the Republican frontrunner from the 2024 presidential race and by doing so, taking away the last shred of freedom we used to enjoy because we are fortunate enough to call ourselves Americans.
Last shred of freedom? What happened to the rest, you ask?
Democrats obliterated your freedoms one by one. Did anyone notice?
Trump is a very small part of the very large picture of what the Democrat Party has done at all levels of government to take away our freedom. Losing the White House in 2020 combined with Republicans’ failure to successfully challenge President Biden, his assortment of incompetent idealogues, and the radical Democrats who infest our Congress are a catastrophe for what used to be a free and just and fair America.
Consider how much we have lost:
American sovereignty? Gone.
The sanctity of the vote? Gone. In some cities we even permit illegals to vote.
Sane criminal justice that gives you the freedom to walk our streets without fear? Gone.
Freedom to hear accurate information on which to base our vote and not have it covered up or censored by the government and media? Gone. Thank the Hunter Biden laptop scandal for proving there is no accountability and no consequences for influencing an election by censoring news and information.
The freedom to raise your kids without interference from the government? Almost gone. Thank Democrats and their unions for relieving you of the onerous responsibility of parenting.
The freedom to use the resources under our feet to make energy affordable and to strengthen America and our allies: gone. Our Green New Deal-focused government enriched Putin and Russia instead.
First Amendment rights? Gone, unless you are a member of the political left.
The freedom to challenge government authority? Going away. Conservative dissent can label you a domestic terrorist and lead to pounding on your door early in the morning.
The right to select the candidate of your choice for political office? Gone as of the moment Trump’s indictment was announced.
That last one is troubling to be sure, but given the horrendous grip Democrats have over our society and government we must question whether having Trump in the White House again will even matter? The Democrat Party evolved from being a necessary counterpoint to Republicans in America’s two-party system to a cancer that progressively took away the freedoms America have valued for generations, liberties so
cherished that our citizens willingly laid down their lives to protect them.
This new attack on Donald Trump’s 2024 candidacy is one of the last bricks to be placed in the wall between a progressive, Democrat Party determined to precipitate America’s decline and Americans who have been divested of our freedoms and progressively marginalized as racists, semi-fascists, and enemies of the state.
We know who America’s real enemies are, but with so many freedoms gone do we still have the power to reclaim what is rightfully ours as citizens of a great nation already in rapid decline because the freedoms that helped to make us great are suddenly gone, possibly never to return?
UPDATE April 7, 2023:
It’s time to take away Democrats freedom from accountability.
Today the president shifted his attentions from politicizing the Covenant School shooting and praising the activist transgender community to targeting Tennessee Republicans for punishing two lawmakers for what he called a “peaceful protest” that looked a lot more like an insurrection to anyone who watched the news footage.
The White House used the same two words that Democrats used to describe the violence that exploded while our cities burned during the summer of 2020:
Today’s expulsion of lawmakers who engaged in peaceful protest is shocking, undemocratic, and without precedent. Rather than debating the merits of the issue, these Republican lawmakers have chosen to punish, silence, and expel duly-elected representatives of the people of Tennessee.336
We already knew where this was headed, but one phrase is worthy of attention:
Congress must ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines, require safe storage of firearms, eliminate gun manufacturers’ immunity from liability, and require background checks for all gun sales, and state officials must do the same.337
“Immunity from liability” is a concept congressional Democrats are very familiar with. So are their sometimes-violent activist foot soldiers, their social justice DAs, and criminals who have no liability or accountability for their actions until they commit an offense so horrendous that even an Alvin Bragg or Kim Foxx has no choice but to reluctantly lock them up.
The president couldn’t spell “accountability” if he had the rest of his term to guess, but his administration eagerly threatens others who fall out of line. Today’s “Readout of White House State Legislative Convening on Holding Gun Manufacturers Accountable” calls for repealing the 2005 Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act so gun makers can be held liable for crimes committed with their products. Attendees at the meeting included representatives from California and New York, states with big cities notorious for crime and not holding criminals accountable.338
We’ve also heard demands to eliminate qualified immunity for the police officers remaining on the beat to dovetail with Democrat Party efforts to demonize what they do to keep Americans safe. What we will never hear are equivalent demands to hold the president, Democrats, activists, and DAs accountable for their freedom to wreak havoc on our nation.
Maxine Waters (D-CA) was never held accountable for inciting agitators to “push back” against Trump administration officials in public places. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was never held accountable for threatening SCOTUS Justices Kavanagh and Gorsuch. Anti-semitic remarks from Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) were quickly swept under the House carpet while the political left eagerly accused President Trump of the same offense.
America’s left-wing protection racket grants unlimited freedom from accountability to the very same people who demand it from others and ensures they are accountable for nothing they say or do. Trump is in hot water over the classified documents in his possession that led to an armed FBI raid. Biden will get off scot-free. The insurrection at the Tennessee statehouse and the violent 2020 race riots were peaceful protests, but Americans who were present in Washington during the January 6 riot were hunted down like rabid dogs and imprisoned.
Democrats spread their lie of Trump-Russia collusion after the 2016 election and the Hunter Biden laptop story was censored out of existence to interfere with the 2020 election. No one was held accountable. The source of the Supreme Court leak of the Dobbs decision will be an unsolved mystery. Alejandro Mayorkas lies that the border is secure while illegals and fentanyl spill into America knowing he is accountable for nothing. Americans are routinely killed by criminals released to the streets by officials in our liberal cities. No one is held accountable.
If the GOP promoted transgenderism, transgender Americans would be domestic terrorists.
A disturbed transgender mass shooter in Tennessee was a victim and gun makers are the ones accountable for her actions. If Republicans promoted the transgender political agenda, the White House would be labeling transgender Americans domestic terrorists.
Accountability should be about what we value and not what some privileged Americans and our political elite have the power and influence to evade. It’s time to take that freedom away from Democrats who repeatedly avoid accountability for words and deeds for which they would demand the harshest punishment if they came from their political opponents.
Let’s make it easy. Republicans in the House can start with Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Jamie Raskin (D-MD) and Jerry Nadler (D-NY) for their roles in spreading Trump-Russia, maybe throw a few more Democrat lawmakers into the equation and then find a way to indict Hillary Clinton for instigating this hoax. After they are warmed up, they can narrow their sights to Alejandro Mayorkas and Merrick Garland while James Comer (R-KY) focuses on the accountability-demanding “Big Guy.”
Americans deserve no less. Democrats deserve no better.

People do not understand how the Democrats and the Obama administration are slowly strangling the very freedoms that the Revolution was fought for. The facts are clear when you see the Constitution being trampled on by Obama, and then realize that he could not pass a gun owner background check, which is why he has sealed “ALL” of his records.
If congress were to pass any new legislation on background checking it must include the requirement that “ALL” politicians running for public office must “PASS” those requirements or be disqualified.
As it stands right now, Obama could not ” PASS” a standard FBI check from the details that were written in his book, which is why his certification was challenged. The judges that had cases before them refused to hear the arguments and thusly dismissed those cases. What gutless wonders we have in the justice system including the Supreme Court.
Obama is tearing our nation apart. and he is banking on the ignorant that don’t pay attention. obama has a shady past and i am not convinced that he is a true citizen of the united states. If you vote democrat you are voting to end america as a freedom country. Obama is taking it all away and people are not paying attention. when it’s gone and you are under the control of a dictator you will wish you had paid attention. but this country has been under attack before obama but now it’s speeded up so much it will be a miracle if we can keep it
We’ll find out next week how well people are paying attention, won’t we, Sandy? I agree, it’s pretty amazing that no matter how bad things are or how misguided the actions of public officials, they still manage to convince people to support what they do. Watch what happens in the Illinois governor’s race next week. If Pat Quinn wins, it’s a pretty good sign that we are truly lost.
freedom from harm is not a reasonable freedom. Freedom from unjust aggression is reasonable, and the primary reason for government.
Thanks for your remarks, Ed. Interesting how some of what’s happening now at the hands of government could be considered unjust aggression, like the searches they conducted in Rhode Island looking for New Yorkers. It’s difficult to know where to draw the line between government overreach and the public interest, but that was quite a line to cross.

I don’t know if the intention was to turn lies into the sole means of communicating with the people to the complete exclusion of the truth, but it has certainly paid off for Democrats and the White House.
