America Doesn’t Want More Cowards

Last update February 21, 20152 Comments

Do you think that out of control progressivism is responsible for the stupidity over amnesty that has been dominating the U.S. political scene? It’s not quite that complicated. Liberal politicians are pandering to people who have embraced cowardice as a way of life because they are easy marks. The problem is that America doesn’t want more cowards. It’s the last thing we need. We already have too many who are citizens and believe that upward mobility is something you take from others. Barring a ruling by a judge in Texas we would be in the process of turning at least four million more cowards into legal U.S. residents. That was just for openers.

Remarks about the economy, but not about cowardice

The White House still wants us to believe that amnesty with DACA and DAPA, the new order to shield illegal immigrant parents, is about fixing the economy even though this week’s injunction in Texas was about protecting state budgets. After the judge’s ruling the president’s press office released this statement:

Top law enforcement officials, along with state and local leaders across the country, have emphasized that these policies will also benefit the economy and help keep communities safe.1

In his remarks disagreeing with the decision, Jeh Johnson predictably repeated White House claims about the benefits of amnesty:

Our actions will also benefit the economy and promote law enforcement.2

Ted Cruz called the decision “a major turning point in the fight to stop Obama’s lawless amnesty” and “a major victory for the rule of law.”3 One thing we haven’t heard much about is how refusing to grant amnesty and going back to deporting illegals would cut down on the number of cowards in America.

Illegal immigrants are cowards, you say?

What do cowards do? They shirk responsibility. They push it off on others. This was at the core of Obama’s blocked executive action, which imposed burdens on states that wouldn’t be there if illegals didn’t need American taxpayers to look out for their needs and pay for their fraud.

We have all heard stories about the risks taken in search of a better life in America. Sure, crossing the border is dangerous, but not so dangerous that it deterred millions from making the trek and bringing their kids with them.

Is it unreasonable to label illegal immigrants cowards for seeking the American Dream? Consider this:

1. Illegals don’t have the courage or the will to do what the law in their new country asks of them. Thanks to the president they may never have to.

2. Cowards hide in the shadows. They fear authority and slink around in secrecy, terrified of being identified for what they are.

3. Cowards expect others to make their lives better. They don’t have the courage to accept the responsibility to do it themselves, so others have to accept the burden and pay the cost.

4. Cowards rely on strength in numbers to intimidate others into giving them what they want. Mass action propels immigrant activism because when you do something wrong it looks less wrong if millions of people do it with you. That’s why mass action rhetoric is popular with leftist politicians. Obama is fond of talking about “who we are,” which usually means who he wants us to be. Amnesty activist Luis Gutierrez hides an implied threat when he talks about the illegal masses in America:

We may be delayed, be we will not be deterred.4

The “we” is the important part. Standing behind others is the refuge of cowards because they don’t have the courage to stand alone.

America has plenty of cowards already, thanks

As we saw during the Occupy Wall Street days, enough of our citizens are feckless, itinerant cowards that the last thing we should do is welcome foreigners who are even worse. Nevertheless, the amnesty dialogue led Gutierrez to accuse Republicans of being the cowards when they proposed 2014’s H.R. 5272, a bill that would have halted DACA:

Only cowards scapegoat children and only those who are ashamed of themselves do it after hours on a Friday night.5

Cowards find ways for others to take responsibility for their actions and pay for what they want. Politicians do it. Illegals do it, too. The difference is we are stuck with liberal politicians. They are already citizens and too many Americans are cowardly enough to vote for them. Illegals? We don’t want more cowardice in our country. Get rid of them.

Exactly right, Samuel. Giving the country away with only the consent of his activist buddies says a lot, doesn’t it? All the pressure the White House can summon will come down on our judicial system next week for the benefit of foreign citizens. It’s easy to see what is going to happen, but the real question is why we let it get this far?

You are quite right in naming illegals as cowards for they do not have the courage to wait in line for their turn to become legalized citizens the right way. They would rather jump the fence and sneak into our country for the hand outs that they receive from the liberal politicains. The politicians “who are also cowards” have their own view as they want their votes to stay in office and will do whatever it takes to accomplish that end. This corruption is not what our country was founded on and Mr. Obama who hates America has been leading the way with his “Fundamental change of America”. His amnesty program must be stopped and illegals who will not work should be deported. All criminal illegals should be deported and no voting rights to any illegal. Work permits can be granted with an annual fee and no work without a permit. Taxes will be collected as all tax paying citizens have to do. We are not running a free loader society any more.
