It’s a good thing that the policy positions between Republicans and Democrats are so often irreconcilable. Deadlock stops our government from doing the kinds of reckless, unethical things that Democrats are doing now like spending trillions on the radical left’s priorities while they lie about how the money is all for the people.
By now we’ve had a pretty good taste of what happens when the left calls the shots. It’s bitter and foul. What’s even worse is that the politicians in control can’t reconcile the logic behind their conflicting policies. This is a problem that stinks of lack of leadership at the top. It won’t be resolved by tossing out hackneyed oxymorons to cover up big lies about what Democrats are really doing.
Democratic Caucus Chair Hakeem Jeffries tries to convince us that:
House Democrats are fighting For the People. House Republicans are fighting against each other.1
He should pay better attention to the contradictory nonsense spouted by his colleagues.
Oxymorons for Democrats: 5 irreconcilable conflicts
Israel: unshakeable partner, trusted ally, and wanton human rights abuser?
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called the U.S. “an unshakeable partner and trusted ally to the Jewish state.”2
For the first time I agree with something she said.
Democrats can’t decide whether to support or condemn Israel. That’s not a good thing for America, Israel, or other allies who have every reason to question whether we will live up to our obligations.
Rep. Ilhan “some people did something” Omar found two willing cohorts in Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Andre Carson (D-IN) to back her anti-Israel attack:
“Let us be clear, however: we continue to provide the Israeli government with over $3 billion in military aid every year—with no conditions or accountability for wanton human rights abuses and continuing illegal seizures of Palestinian land.3
No one is surprised that Omar took the side of Hamas or that she was backed by Tlaib, who has been accused and just as quickly forgiven by fellow Democrats for her anti-Israel rants. The trio used the Hamas rocket attacks to launch a call for action:
It is long past time we finally take action to protect Palestinian human rights and save lives.4
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi disagrees. She condemned the “escalating and indiscriminate rocket attacks by Hamas against Israel”5 and mourned the loss of life:
Every civilian death is a tragedy that we mourn. Hamas’s accelerating violence only risks killing more civilians, including innocent Palestinians.6
Joe Biden’s handlers must have told him to agree with Pelosi during a call to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The president reportedly “conveyed his unwavering support for Israel’s security and for Israel’s legitimate right to defend itself and its people, while protecting civilians.”7
Granted, it’s only a handful of Democrats that oppose Israel but there is still a question. If the rest of the party supports our ally, why didn’t a single House Democrat cosponsor H.Res. 396 “Condemning the deadly and indiscriminate rocket attacks perpetrated against Israel by Hamas beginning the week of May 9, 2021, and expressing that the United States must continue to invest in and support Israel’s security and sovereignty?” Were they afraid of offending their radical, anti-Israel colleagues?
We knew where the “unshakeable ally” oxymoron was headed when Biden decided it would be a great idea to bring back Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran. The Israelis probably figured it out as soon as they heard Trump lost the 2020 election.
“Immigrants”
Democrats lure “vital immigrants” and put them in cages
“Immigrants” is an oxymoron. Oxymorons are usually more than one word, but in this case Democrats have made such a mess of America’s immigration policy that a single word suffices.
Immigrants can mean people we want in America because they have enough respect for our laws to suffer the bureaucratic hoops on their way to becoming citizens or legal residents. It can also mean people who have no right to set foot in our country.
When they talk about immigrants Democrats never let us know which kind they are talking about. Are they promoting foreign-born brain surgeons or MS-13 gang members they will deny exist when Americans are hurt or killed?
Democrats love taxes so the illegal kind of immigrant suits their purposes as well as any. The activist Congressional Hispanic Caucus declares immigrants to be the “engine of America’s economic growth” and the “human backbone of America’s economy.”8 In one sense that’s true. Illegals pay the same regressive state and local taxes as everyone else. When they steal Americans’ identities they also pay withholding taxes.
If we need these immigrants so they can make “outsized contributions to America’s long-term economic growth”9 why are Democrats holding them in cages like animals? We don’t hold brain surgeons, entrepreneurs, or rocket scientists in cages. What are they afraid of?
We see the pictures. We listen to the press conferences. We question the blatant disinformation about the border being spread by the person charged with keeping this horror show from happening:
The Biden-Harris Administration inherited a dismantled system plagued by chaos and cruelty, and I was proud today to show members of the Congressional delegation who have been leading the effort to reform our immigration system the dramatic progress we have made so far,” said Secretary Mayorkas.10
The progress is dramatic but everything except Democratic propaganda tells us that it’s favoring illegal immigrants.
Democrats are counting on passing their anti-election security bill H.R. 1, so luring massive numbers of immigrants to America with the promise of a better life is of paramount importance compared to protecting unemployed Americans who compete with illegals for low-wage jobs. The very real threat of terror and transnational gangs coming across the border is also disregarded or denied while Mayorkas, Biden, and Harris pin the blame on Trump for the security disaster they encourage and cover up with a word that hides their big lie with an oxymoron.
“Peaceful protest”
Republicans aren’t the ones who turned “peaceful protest” into an oxymoron.
We’ve beat this one to death, but sooner or later there needs to be an accounting for what happened last summer just like Democrats are pushing for a McCarthyesque Capitol Insurrection witch hunt. For now they can deny the truth of the radical left riots because they have the political power to enforce their big lies.
That won’t last forever.
In the meantime, Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) sums up our problem:
Today, in a hearing entitled the Rise of Domestic Terrorism in America, all I heard from Democrats and their witnesses was white supremacy and far-right extremism, while completely ignoring the riots, destruction and violence of Antifa we have seen since last year,” Steube said. “All forms of domestic terrorism are criminal, but in order to properly address the threats, we need to talk about all types of domestic terrorism, including Antifa. Instead, the Democrats have chosen to either ignore, condone or even embrace Antifa.”11
With Democrats in control the lies are winning. Antifa is a conservative scare story. Americans who didn’t vote for Biden are the terrorists we should worry about. Black Lives Matter should give us hope, or at least that’s what Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick (D-AZ) thinks:
While his [Trump’s] leadership leaves many feeling doomed, the protesters marching around the world in honor of George Floyd, in solidarity of the Black Lives Matter movement have given me hope for our future.12
Kirkpatrick doesn’t live in Portland, Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Washington D.C., or any of the other cities to which BLM brought its brand of hope. Her district is in Arizona at a safe and plausibly deniable distance from where Americans found out what the oxymoron “peaceful protest”really means.
Anything about “democracy” is an oxymoron
When you hear the word “democracy” from a Democrat whatever comes before or after is a contradiction. Here’s an example from Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA):
In deposing Liz Cheney today, the Republican Party further united behind the belief that fidelity to the former president is more important than fidelity to the Constitution or our democracy and that the Big Lie is more important than truth.13
Schiff proved how much he values our Constitution and democracy by pursing his party’s Big Lie about Donald Trump being in league with Putin. Democracy is worth protecting by removing a sitting president under false pretenses, but it’s not worth a simple request to prove you are authorized to vote. Instead, protecting democracy is a racist affront that our president tells us is no different from Jim Crow laws.
Nancy Pelosi echoed Schiff’s words with her own ridiculous accusation during House Democrats’ meltdown over Liz Cheney’s fall from grace:
Rep. Elise Stefanik both voted to overturn American democracy – and is pathetically trying to hide her vote against putting shots in arms, money in pockets, and kids back in school. 14
That vote to overturn American democracy was Stefanik’s refusal to certify Biden’s win while reports of election fraud were being investigated. Now that Biden is in the White House and Democrats are firmly in control election fraud does not exist and never will again if H.R. 1 becomes law and America becomes a one-party country.
Pelosi calls the Capitol a “Temple of Democracy”15 while Democrats go all-out to strip the election protections that ensure our democracy and its two-party system will survive.
Big lies don’t protect democracy. People who are big enough to care about America for the sake of America do that.
“White supremacy”
The meaning of white supremacy is pretty obvious, isn’t it? Ask any Democrat. It’s a reference to policies supported by conservative voters who backed Trump.
Democrats would never consider applying this term to themselves. While the radical left promotes racist critical race theory and our lily-white president backs racially-biased equity legislation so extreme that it excludes white farmers from benefits, the diversity numbers for the 117th Congress argue that “Democrats are defined by the supremacy of their whiteness.
Of the 223 Democrats in the House, 55 are African American. 34 are Hispanic or Latino. 16 are Asian/Pacific Islander. 2 are Native American or Hawaiian.16
In the Senate, 2 out of 48 Democrats are black. 4 are Hispanic or Latino. 2 are Asian/Pacific Islander. Native Americans? 0.17
It would be irresponsible to claim that Democrats are white supremacists because the majority of Democrat lawmakers in our federal legislature are white.
It’s far worse than irresponsible to label millions of Americans white supremacists because of who they vote for, but Democrats chose to not only condemn Republican voters who stand in their way but America as a whole:
The attempted coup last week is just the latest manifestation of the dangerous and violent white supremacy embedded in America’s DNA. Donald Trump has spent the last four years stoking the fires of white nationalism amongst his supporters.18
You’ve heard all this before so there is no need to repeat it. The contradictions between what Democrats are and what they want us to believe are so grotesque and overwhelming that it defies credulity to think they can continue duping responsible American into voting for their candidates. This is why it’s so important for the party to lure illegals across our border while the left quashes election security laws across the country. Americans are too smart to continue falling for the left’s big lies.
Let’s end this with a challenge. How many contradictions can you find in these remarks from North Carolina Congresswoman Alma Adams?
Make no mistake, the choice is clear: we either stand as guardians of justice and democracy, or as appeasers of fascism, autocracy, and white supremacy,” Adams said. “We have an obligation to defend the sanctity of our Constitution… It requires speaking the truth and doing the right thing.”19
Let’s start with the first oxymoron: “guardians of justice and democracy.”
