After Democrats and a handful of traitorous Republicans voted to pass the 2023 Appropriations Act, Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) promised us:
In just eleven days, the new House Republican majority will change the direction of our country.1
The likely new speaker made a lot of promises to the American people starting with his Commitment to America. Whether or not midterm voters paid attention to what McCarthy vowed to accomplish is up for grabs, but it resonated with at least some House Republicans who, like many of us, are sick, tired, and disgusted with the Biden administration. The president’s no border, no sovereignty agenda brought illegals from all over the world to an America our progressive government has absolutely no respect for.
If the House GOP doesn’t do anything else in the first days of their majority, they need to start down a path that restores respect for America. Joe Biden, the Democrat Party, and the assortment of radical extremists hired to do the White House’s bidding have completely destroyed that respect on the world stage and here at home in their quest to stamp out every trace of Donald Trump’s MAGA priorities.
The internal rot progressives encourage breeds flagrant disrespect. We see it in the surging crime, the control Mexican cartels hold over our border, and the political left’s insistence that America and Americans subordinate our needs to far left pipe dreams like climate socialism, progressive criminal justice, and asylum for anyone who shows up with their hand out looking for their piece of the American Dream.
It is not possible to respect a nation that not only doesn’t respect itself but also attacks its citizens to impose a political agenda that is inimical to our interests. This is where America finds herself on the first day of the New Year 2023.
McCarthy’s commitment to the American people includes a promise to restore our border:
Secure the Border and Combat Illegal Immigration
Fully fund effective border enforcement strategies, infrastructure, and advanced technology to prevent illegal crossings and trafficking by cartels
End catch-and-release loopholes, require legal status to get a job, and eliminate welfare incentives
He also vows to cancel the 87,000 IRS agents Democrats plan to unleash on Americans to stuff their progressive coffers. Steve Scalise (R-LA) has a better idea:
“Far left policies have led to record spending. When you see bills come out of Congress, it’s not hundreds of billions, but trillions of dollars of borrowed money, new taxes, and 87,000 IRS agents… if there’s 87,000 people that are needed, it’s not at the IRS; it’s at the border.2
If Biden’s border is not bad enough, allowing China and criminal cartels to murder Americans with impunity doesn’t encourage respect, either. This is what the White House continues to deliver with its blind eye to the mounting fentanyl death toll. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) emphasized the gravity of the threat to every community in America:
The cancer that is upon our society today is from fentanyl, and let’s face it, where is it coming from? It’s coming from across our border… I’m from Ohio, and believe me, we’re a border town too, just like you know you are today.3
Fentanyl is traveling across the border, but ultimately it’s coming from the same place as our growing illegal immigrant invasion: congressional Democrats and Joe Biden.
If Republicans plan to restore respect for America, they better have the spine to be denounced as racists and xenophobes
Every time Donald Trump opened his mouth to talk about immigration and border security he was accused of being a racist and a xenophobe. Trump hater and January 6th Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-MS) gave us a prime example:
Instead of protecting our skies, waters, and borders from foreign and domestic threats, Department of Homeland Security resources are slated to be used for a new office to single out immigrants as criminals and broadcast its findings on repeat. Doing this not only ignores the vast majority of the crime in the United States, but stokes racist and xenophobic fears while dividing the country.4
The Victims Engagement and Services Line (VESL) Thompson referred to is alive and well under the Biden administration, but the real issue was always Trump and the left’s anger at any suggestion that border security should be a priority. Democrats will use every conceivable opportunity to accuse anyone who stands in the way of an open border of being racist and xenophobic. To that end, 187 Democrats cosponsored and passed H.Res. 489 declaring that the House:
strongly condemns President Donald Trump’s racist comments that have legitimized and increased fear and hatred of new Americans and people of color by saying that our fellow Americans who are immigrants, and those who may look to the President like immigrants, should “go back” to other countries, by referring to immigrants and asylum seekers as “invaders,” and by saying that Members of Congress who are immigrants (or those of our colleagues who are wrongly assumed to be immigrants) do not belong in Congress or in the United States of America.5
Now the invaders are here. Unimpeded, their numbers grow by the day along with their demands for a piece of the American Dream.
Since Joe Biden took over Democrats proved over and again that they hate America, have no regard for the American people, and would gladly sell our country out from under our feet if they could cut a deal that advantaged their party and filled their pockets. They denied our right to a sovereign nation, destroyed lives and murdered countless Americans by allowing Mexican cartels and China to flood our country with fentanyl and methamphetamine, and have turned a blind eye to the illegal immigrant hordes flowing over our border with known terrorists hidden in their ranks.
If Republicans stick to their vows when they take over on Tuesday and do whatever it takes to protect our border and the American people, they will immediately be denounced as racists and xenophobes. Democrats will scream, point fingers, beat their chests, and hurl their refrain about racist, xenophobic, anti-immigrant policies in every press release, every Tweet, and every public utterance. We will hear it on interviews staged by their left wing media, in op-eds in local newspapers, and echoed by politicians who expect big payouts from the federal government for the illegals arriving in their sanctuary cities.
The Democrat Party’s version of America has no right to survive.
The GOP must remember one thing and one thing only: Democrats, their president, and the entirety of the Biden administration spent the past two years destroying any semblance of respect for America. We, the American people want it back. No nation that willfully cancels its own sovereignty and puts the needs of foreign nationals, terrorists, human traffickers, drugs dealers, and criminals over its own people has any right to survive. America is no exception.
When Democrats destroyed our self-respect they destroyed our country. Now it’s up to Republicans who the hateful left will attack from every rhetorical vantage point to make us proud again, starting with a declaration that we are a sovereign nation owned by the American people and a government that works for us, not the left-wing elites who have done everything in their power to make us no better than the Third World nations unloading their citizens on the American taxpayer.
