Joe Biden didn’t wait for January 20, 2025 to leave office. When his presidency ended or whether it even existed will be argued for years, but as the 2024 year in government mercifully ends even the most jaded Democrat knows we were taught a harsh lesson about fools who place their trust in democracy.
For four years America did not have a president or vice president. We had Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Our nation was in free fall. Joe’s handlers struggled to manage public appearances while Karine Jean-Pierre backed prominent Democrats who denied his incapacity despite a plethora of shocking videos and soundbites that called out their lies.
The questions kept coming despite assurances that we were mistaken, just like we misunderstood skyrocketing interest rates, gas, and food prices. When we persisted, the White House turned its back. Protecting the administration’s radical priorities mattered. The pain inflicted on we the people did not.
By July 2024 Joe had served his purpose. The party that covered up his inability to lead forced him to withdraw from the presidential election even though voters had already made their choice. Democracy could wait. Power for the party was more important.
We will never know how much of the reckless, anti-American stupidity chiseled into Biden’s legacy came from unseen stand-ins taking advantage of the moment. Who cooked up the Christmas death row commutations? Was it Joe’s parting shot or the creation of some demented backroom ideologue with an axe to grind? Take your pick. This was not the democracy we learned about in school or the system of government we trusted to turn our voice into action.
2024 Year in Government: only fools trusted democracy
Inflicting insanely damaging and dangerous radical priorities that made life worse for law-abiding, hard-working people and better for illegals, criminals, and radical nut jobs was the theme of the Biden White House.
The Biden-Harris illegal immigrant invasion is a horrendous example of how entrusting democracy to the wrong hands can hurt us. Our betters preached their liberal values while Americans were murdered, raped, and robbed. Migrant children were trafficked for sweatshop labor and sex slavery but this, too was deemed preferable to admitting that Democrats’ progressive immigration scam was a fatally flawed affront to humanity and our nation’s values.
Did Americans vote for this? Did we ask for our tax dollars to place us in danger? It didn’t matter. Democrat elites enabled Biden’s anti-American agenda. They didn’t concern themselves with the consequences they would be spared by their wealth and power. Laken Riley, Jocelyn Nungaray, Rachel Morin, and countless others who never made the headlines were acceptable collateral damage best ignored.
Five 2024 lessons in government taught to those who trusted democracy
Caveat emptor: Biden, Harris, and the Democrat Party told us what they would do and then they did it
Thomas Jefferson reminded us:
The government you elect is the government you deserve.
It’s hard to have sympathy for fools who vote for radicalized politicians who lie about defending democracy and fighting for People Over Politics. It’s not as if America’s political left is shy about promoting open border and pro-crime policies, defunding law enforcement, ending the fossil fuel industry, promoting anti-woman transgender activism, tolerating antisemitism, condemning America as intolerably racist, and other progressive mainstays that drag our nation away from greatness.
Most Americans disagree with these things. Democrats taught us five lessons in government that prove they don’t care.
2024 Lesson 1: democracy is a favor granted to the powerless
On July 21, 2024 democracy was shelved by Democrat Party elites who saw the writing on the wall. They decided that power for wealthy, powerful liberals mattered more than the people’s choice. That meant Biden had to go, though for reasons no one has explained he was allowed to serve out his term.
This was a stunning reversal after four years of lies about the president’s competence not because we didn’t expect it, but because Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and whoever else was involved in kicking the voice of primary voters off the ballot threatened that Trump was the one determined to destroy our constitutional republic.
Only fools believed them.
Democrats booted Biden, so was Nancy lying about democracy?
After her second Trump impeachment failed, Pelosi warned:
Sadly, because of a majority of the Senate’s betrayal of the Constitution, the President remains an ongoing threat to American democracy, with his insistence that he is above the law and that he can corrupt the elections if he wants to.1
In 2024 she threatened American democracy and corrupted our election process without any explanation to primary voters who learned that in the hands of Democrats, participating in democracy is an optional favor granted to the powerless at the pleasure of the powerful.
If Pelosi is worried about politicians who believe they are above the law, perhaps she will work with the new Congress to investigate allegations of congressional insider trading.
Lesson 2: Democrats hold this truth to be self-evident: Americans work to serve liberal millionaires and billionaires
Throughout Biden’s presidency Americans were treated as weak, powerless fools incapable of seeing through the administration’s lies. The truth was as optional as democracy and an impediment to the irresponsible radical progressivism pushed by the White House, federal agencies, and congressional Democrats.
The falsehoods, propaganda, scams, and coverups kept coming throughout 2024 and concluded with Congress’s shameful attempt to saddle taxpayers with a 1,500 spending monstrosity laden with provisions that only a pig and our self-serving elected officials could love.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) insisted that this abuse of taxpayers was for our benefit:
House Democrats, House Republicans, Senate Democrats and Senate Republicans reached a bipartisan agreement to fund the government, prevent a shutdown and meet the needs of the American people.2
He defended this fiscal atrocity with a MAGA dog whistle:
And then one or two puppet masters weigh in and the extreme MAGA Republicans decide to do the bidding of the wealthy, the well-off, the well-connected millionaires and billionaires, not working-class people all across America.3
After “wealthy,” “well-off,” “well-connected” puppet masters Obama, Pelosi, Schumer, and unknown others denied voters their democratic right to decide on the candidate of their choice, our representatives on Capitol Hill did what political elites do: treat the incomes of those they despise as their personal piggy bank.
Lesson 3: this is not how democracy works. This is how totalitarianism works.
As the 2024 campaign turned ugly, desperate Kamala Harris hypocritically accused Donald Trump of being a fascist. We weren’t supposed to understand that her candidacy was based on suppressing the voice of the people. Americans were fools. A few well-placed cackles would earn our trust.
Harris stupidly refused to separate herself from Joe Biden’s anti-democracy totalitarian progressivism. During an interview with the equally dimwitted hosts of “The View,” she insisted that she would not change a thing.
No sane American who loves our country could possibly agree with the Biden agenda, so dissenting voices were ignored and then condemned as an enemy threat to our survival in the president’s September 1, 2022 Battle for the Soul of the Nation address. The backdrop for the speech reeked of fascism. Biden’s words hammered the message home. Meanwhile, the abuse of Americans escalated at an astounding pace.
Harris and Biden invited illegal immigrants to America knowing they would smuggle drugs and murder, rape, rob, and assault Americans. Pushback was inevitable. They did not care. Complicit blue city and state officials shielded offenders from ICE. In preparation for January 20, 2025 they are stepping up their protection of illegal immigrant crime to oppose Trump and incoming Border Czar Tom Homan’s plans to make our nation safe again.
Harming Americans wasn’t just about illegal immigrant crime. Biden’s promise to end fossil fuels meant gas prices working families could not afford while state-level Democrat apparatchiks crafted EV buying mandates to regulate our freedom of choice.
Skyrocketing interest rates took buying a home or even a used gas guzzler off the kitchen tables of families struggling to get by.
Meanwhile, our daughters faced violence on the playing field and penises in school bathrooms because dangerous, amoral transgender ideology cancelled common sense, put their safety at risk, and threatened the parental rights of mothers and fathers who objected to chemical and genital mutilation of their children. Undeterred, the Biden administration stubbornly refused to acknowledge the obvious risks of biological males competing against females and tried to finesse a Title IX protection until December 20, 2024 when it finally gave up the fight in the face of massive resistance from states fed up with gender politics.
America first became America last as a president with a money trail suggesting compromise by China refused to protect our nation from foreign aggression, denied unconditional support to our ally Israel after a massive terror attack, and pumped tens of billions into an endless Ukraine war that he hypocritically justified as a defense of democracy that he denied to Americans.
When democracy doesn’t matter, your opportunities are endless
Biden’s poll numbers plummeted. It didn’t matter. In fact, sagging support seemed to embolden him to hurt us even more with policies deliberately targeting the will of Trump voters.
2024 ended with the president’s long-range missile escalation of the Ukraine conflict that brought his threat of nuclear war closer than ever. He followed up with his Christmas gift to death row inmates and doubled down on efforts to sell off Trump’s border wall for peanuts that was finally blocked thanks to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
This is not how democracy is supposed to work. This is how totalitarianism works. Harris’s embarrassing election defeat and the historic defection of Democrat voters to Trump is what happens when we the people are tired of being taken for fools by tyrannical autocrats who place their own abusive priorities above the needs of the governed.
Lesson 4: democracy is about trust, but we have to earn it.
In 2024 our government taught us that elections don’t matter. We the people have no voice and Democrats don’t put people over politics, a truism that brought Trump the unexpected support from Black men that so angered Obama and “You Ain’t Black” Biden.
Far away from Washington, D.C. watering holes where our lawmakers ignore the partisan divide, slop scotch on each other, and dream up ways to collude against the will of the people, Chicago residents learned another ugly lesson in democracy from Mayor Brandon Johnson: in the wrong hands, democracy preys on the powerless.
To be fair, Windy City voters had a chance to choose a leader who was not a radical leftist. They got what they wanted, or as Jefferson said, what they deserve. It’s not as if Johnson was secretive about his priorities during the 2023 mayoral race. Even his false promise to not pursue the property tax increase he demanded in 2024 was a vow nobody with the smarts to cast a ballot should have believed.
At year-end, furious city residents vented their resentment at the favoritism Chicago shows illegals. According to the Washington Examiner, since 2022 the city spent $574.5 million on its “new arrivals” shelter system. Meanwhile, struggling residents in Black and Latino communities watched helplessly as family members were killed by routine, random gun violence. Tax dollars flowed to the migrants welcomed by Johnson and extremist Governor JB Pritzker, who proves every time he opens his mouth that having lots of money doesn’t equate to intelligence.
Johnson follows the abusive Biden and Pritzker playbooks. He ignores the voices of people struggling to get by in the face of radical social and economic decline. Like the Tiffany Henyard s***show still playing out in Dalton, Illinois this is a harsh lesson in how a functioning democracy must be earned. We get who we elect and we elect what we deserve.
Lesson 5: if your elected officials don’t care what you want, then democracy is dead
I’ve never been robbed or mugged or carjacked or knifed or shot, but for the sake of argument let’s assume these aren’t things anyone would want regardless of their politics.
Our president and congressional Democrats, on the other hand, prefer these things happen to Americans rather than admitting they were wrong. With their attack on America is threatened by an incoming president who heeds the voice of democracy and plans to end four years of progressive destruction, they are digging in their heels to protect what hurts us.
When our elected officials don’t care what we want and ignore and subvert the voice of the people, then representative government is dead. On November 5, 2024 Americans tired of being played for fools proved with their vote that they learned this lesson in government.
2024 was a bad year for democracy, perhaps the worst in decades. The return of Donald Trump despite the left’s overwhelming effort to destroy the man and everything he stands for revealed that Americans still value the foundational principles our nation is founded on. We spoke with our vote after four years of anti-democratic authoritarian abuse by our government. That’s a hopeful sign for the future of a great nation with better days ahead.
