NEW: Clueless Harris Denounces Her Own Inciting Remarks After Second Attempt to Take Out Trump Fails
During remarks in Portage, Michigan last week, vice president and now likely presidential candidate Kamala Harris called for unity and rejected political violence after the attempt on Donald Trump’s life:
On Sunday evening, our President, Joe Biden, issued a call for unity. And there must be unity around the idea that while our nation’s history has been scarred by political violence, violence is never acceptable. There can be no equivocation about that. (Applause.)1
Her half-baked appeal for unity was accompanied by more inflammatory anti-Trump threats by President Biden during remarks tp the NAACP just three days after Trump was almost killed.
Harris is right. Political violence is unacceptable, but so is inciting it. To borrow her words, there can be no equivocation about political violence and yet equivocation is how Democrats hide behind the fallout from their provocative rhetoric.
Democrats are no strangers to equivocating political violence
Unity and the Biden-Harris administration are oxymorons. The nation is more divided than ever. Don’t expect that to change as Biden fades from view. If Harris can figure out what she stands for other than abortion, she still must appeal to the same base.
Harris did not say that we must unify against political violence. She said we must unite around the idea that political violence is unacceptable.
Did the vice president bother to look up the meaning of equivocation? Either her maxim does not apply to Democrats, or they don’t believe that equivocating political violence counts.
Here are five examples of how Democrats equivocate political violence knowing they are immune from accountability, a protection they viciously deny to Trump over January 6th.
Summer of Love was anything but peaceful
The murder of George Floyd was tragic and reprehensible. The rule of law punished the offenders and then Democrat equivocation about peaceful protest punished Americans. Party members turned a blind, partisan eye to the anarchic 2020 riots. Violence, looting, and arson fell under the umbrella of protected “peaceful protest.” Lawmakers fanned the flames with their racial justice narrative while businesses and livelihoods were destroyed.
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) used the upheaval as an excuse to attack Trump:
From the wreckage of the Trump period we must find the strength and vision to rebuild our nation. It is time for a new Reconstruction in America. It is time to sweep away the sickening racism, the wretched violence, the rampant corruption and the lethal incompetence that have overtaken our government. It is time to rebuild on the foundations of civil justice, creative nonviolence, strong democracy, and equal rights for all.2
Whatever “creative nonviolence” is supposed to mean, Raskin’s reconstruction was characterized by wreckage and violence. Fellow Democrats harangued the nation about police brutality and accused law enforcement of abusing peaceful protesters while the flames rose, glass broke, people were hurt, and violent activist agitators confronted law enforcement.
When the U.S. Park Police clashed with protesters near the White House, Democrats seized their opportunity:

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) called on Democrats to Confront All Forms of Political Violence. He recounted the toll:
Civil unrest over the summer took a serious toll: more than 900 law enforcement officers were injured responding to violent riots, including 277 federal officer injuries defending a courthouse in Portland, Ore., and 60 Secret Service officers defending the White House. At least 14,000 people were arrested in riots that occurred in 49 cities across the country over the summer. At least 25 people were killed in those riots. Damage sustained to businesses and other personal property could exceed $2 billion.5
Democrats absolve themselves from blame for violent riots but attack Trump for the same rhetorical crime
After the January 6 “Insurrection,” Democrats attacked Trump relentlessly. They ignored the fact that he implored rally attendees to “peacefully and patriotically protest.” Trump was impeached, demonized, found guilty by their Soviet-style Kangaroo Tribunal, and finally indicted in Washington, D.C. in August 2023.
Democrat manipulation of racial animosity while they propagandized American history after Floyd’s killing was more inciting than anything Trump said on January 6th. Party members equivocating about protest, racism, and police brutality were never held accountable for this massive outbreak of political violence. Instead, their peaceful protest narrative was recycled for the antisemitic protests that broke out after the October 2023 terror attack on Israel.
Schumer threatened the Supreme Court and assassin targets a justice
Absolute power requires absolute control. Democrats understand this. When a Supreme Court verdict is not in their favor they publicly vent their fury at the justices, lecture Americans about our illegitimate judicial branch, and threaten to pack the court to ensure future SCOTUS decisions enforce their priorities.
Senate Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) took this a step further after the draft of the Dobbs abortion decision was leaked. He threatened two justices who displeased him:
I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price,” Schumer said. “You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.
Democrats harangued the nation over what they call the denial of reproductive freedom. Stirred up anger led to protests outside justices’ homes in violation of the law that culminated with an assassin targeting Justice Brett Kavanaugh in June 2022.
Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) denounced Schumer, Biden, and congressional Democrats for inciting the incident:
President Biden, Chuck Schumer, and other Democrat leaders have encouraged protests outside of the homes of Supreme Court Justices and I am signing onto a resolution to condemn Chuck Schumer for his words of violence that may have led to the attempted murder of Justice Brett Kavanaugh,” said Congresswoman Mary E. Miller (R-IIl.)6
Schumer enjoyed immunity from this near tragedy, but Democrats were again furious after the recent SCOTUS decision granting immunity to Trump. Court-packing proponent Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) assailed the justices:
The far-right extremist majority has politicized our highest court, undermined its legitimacy, and has created a dangerous ‘absolute’ immunity for a president’s official acts,” said Senator Markey. “This is a rogue, untethered, and damaging Supreme Court. MAGA extremist justices also are ignoring the festering corruption in their ranks. We need justices committed to justice. Stolen seats filled with partisan hacks lead to alarming results.7
As Schumer proved, equivocation in the absence of accountability can also lead to alarming results.
A history of antisemitism breeds violence
When Donald Trump was president, Democrats falsely attacked him as racist and antisemitic. When he correctly blamed Democrats for antisemitism in the ranks and their tenuous alliance with Israel, his remarks were taken out of context:
President Trump continues to give oxygen to anti-Semites around the world by using tropes about the loyalty of Jewish Americans. This must end. It is reprehensible for anyone to engage in such language. Making Israel a partisan wedge is not in our national security interest or Israel’s.8
The impact of Trump’s Abraham Accords and his loyalty to Israel were never in question. Democrats, on the other hand, did make Israel a partisan wedge after the genocidal October 2023 attack. This was no surprise. The party has a history of tolerating antisemitism from its members. With the radical left protesting in favor of Hamas terrorism, it was time to equivocate humanitarian issues in Gaza.
The Hamas terror attack gave leftist anti-Israel lawmakers the opportunity to denounce our ally and promote anti-Jewish, anti-Israel demonstrations across America.
One day after nearly 1,200 people were killed by Palestinian terrorists, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) placed Palestinians first:
I grieve the Palestinian and Israeli lives lost yesterday, today, and every day.9
Then she blamed Israel for the brutal Hamas attack in a thinly veiled example of how to equivocate unacceptable political violence:
We cannot ignore the humanity in each other. As long as our country provides billions in unconditional funding to support the apartheid government, this heartbreaking cycle of violence will continue.10
In response to nationwide antisemitic protests that threatened to replicate their historic George Floyd anarchy, Democrats resurrected their peaceful protest narrative. Jewish students at colleges and universities were intimidated and threatened. Paul Kessler was killed in California in a disgusting display of political violence fed by a narrative still alive and ongoing on Capitol Hill, thanks in part to Biden’s refusal to unconditionally support Israel’s determination to end the genocidal terror threat against its people once and for all.
Only xenophobes admit that illegals rape, rob, and kill
Those of us who love our country and believe we deserve a protected, sovereign border are routinely denounced as racists, xenophobes, and anti-immigrant for opposing uncontrolled open border illegal immigration and rejecting the left’s equivocation about our history as a nation of immigrants.
Trump’s secure border infuriated Democrats. Thanks to the Biden-Harris administration’s January 20, 2021 Proclamation on Ending Discriminatory Bans on Entry to The United States and the invasion that followed, Americans are forced to pay for illegals with their wallets, their safety, and in some cases with their lives. Those we lose are victims of political violence gone forever thanks to Biden and Harris’s equivocation about border security, asylum seekers, and the root causes of migration.
Do-nothing Border Czar Harris shows no indication that she will take any action to stop the rapes, assaults, robberies, and murders committed by the administration’s illegal immigrant invaders. We look forward to her explaining why and what her plans are to save American lives from her border legacy when she meets Trump on the debate stage for the first time.
Equivocation almost gave Democrats what they wanted on July 13, 2024
Hateful words, threats, hollow legal challenges, and now the labels “criminal” and “felon” thanks to our weaponized, pro-Democrat justice system culminated in an assassination attempt on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Biden and Harris immediately voiced their objections to political violence, but the history of their statements about their opponent speaks for itself. Neither can be held accountable for what the president calls hyperbole, but if Harris wants to show off her big brain by using a word like “equivocation” she should look up the definition first. Perhaps Trump can ask her to define that, too when they meet face to face before the America and the world.
