Workers Losing Jobs to Democrats, Not Trade

Last update July 24, 2020Leave a Comment

A pack of cowardly hypocrites just sold out their hero president, betrayed their agenda, lied to the American people, and it all happened in one day over a trade bill. We probably shouldn’t expect anything better from Democratic Party members who have to look to the future and answer to their union and special interest overlords as election season nears. We can’t really feel sorry for their lame duck president, either, despite his party’s defection. Obama’s second greatest accomplishment after health care just keeps on giving, making sure that U.S. workers lose jobs to Democratic policy and the foreigners he has allowed to work in our country.

Who should we feel sorry for? How about U.S. workers losing jobs?

Pelosi’s justice is for Democrats, not workers losing jobs

Nothing defines hypocrisy like Nancy Pelosi’s stance on the trade bill. Banging on the drum of a better deal for American workers1 she spoke of justice:

Economic justice. And I don’t see that happening in this Fast Track bill – lifting people up in the rest of the world, or having trade agreements that do not increase the paycheck of American workers. That should be our first order of business.2

Pelosi delivers her brand of justice with betrayal. She helped kill Obama’s trade bill in the name of defending American jobs, but she had no problem helping the White House give those jobs to illegals when she backed the president on deferred action.

Cowardice, hypocrisy, and lies: Democrats sold out U.S. workers

When it comes to justice, values, and Democratic policy, who wins and who loses? When the president announced his executive action on immigration last November to expand DACA Pelosi was on board:

Tonight, President Obama announced bold action to bring our broken immigration system into line with our values as a people and our needs as a nation. The President’s Immigration Accountability Executive Actions will secure our borders, prioritize enforcement, and provide relief to millions of hard-working, law-abiding families who may now have a happy Thanksgiving free from the fear of separation.3

Hard-working and law-abiding are immigration buzzwords that try to make something very wrong seem right (see: Politicians Lie, So Why Do We Believe This?). If illegal immigrant families are working they are illegally taking jobs from U.S. workers. Democrats backing Obama’s executive actions in 2012 and 2014 don’t have a problem with this and support the idea of handing out work permits through the DACA program, now in its fourth year and going strong.

What is the difference between outsourcing the jobs of U.S. workers to citizens of other countries and the illegal residents of our country? Not much if you are looking for a job. Quite a bit if you are a politician with something to gain, like union and immigrant special interest support.

New DACA numbers show who is really stealing from U.S. workers

New deferred action data released on June 2, 2015 shows that our government approved DACA for 908,479 illegal residents through March 2015. 152,326 applications are pending. 194,132 approvals and 67,263 renewals, the largest totals for any state, are from Pelosi’s California.4

How do you justify turncoat Democrats killing the trade bill to prevent losing jobs for American workers while they advocate allowing illegal foreign labor to remain in the U.S.? Liberal politicians on Capitol Hill have a lot of bosses to answer to. Unfortunately for Obama, he is no longer one of them. Political arrogance, on the other hand, tells Democrats that they already have U.S. workers in their pocket. That means Pelosi and her ilk can feel confident selling American labor down the river as long as they continue to assure the people that they are doing just the opposite.
